Star Wars: The Last Jedi rumours reveal Laura Dern’s character, Poe’s souped-up ship, and just where the heck BB-8 is

It’s all well and good wanting to know what’s going down with Finn and Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi but you’re probably itching for some details – anything – about BB-8 and Poe Dameron's role in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Good news: you’re in luck, bad news: possible spoilers. You’ve been warned.

Let’s start with the cutest spherical droid in the entire galaxy. BB-8 will, according to Making Star Wars, be spending the majority of the movie with Finn and a character called ‘Rose’ so if you’re hoping for a big ol’ buddy road trip with Poe and BB-8 then you’re flat out of luck.

As for Poe, his X-Wing will be getting souped-up just in time for the greatest pilot in the galaxy as he and the remaining Resistance fleet try and outmanoeuvre the persistent shadow oncoming First Order ships.

Poe, though, apparently has a nemesis in The Last Jedi in the shape of Laura Dern’s character Admiral Holdo. She’s described as the polar opposite of General Leia Organa with a far more outwardly stylish look, a long gown and she’s packing a blaster for good measure. Details on just how she locks horns with Poe are thin on the ground but, hey, it’s not hard to see how a smarmy flyboy could irritate one of the galaxy’s political elite now, is it?

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
