As part of today's big Mortal Kombat 11 extravaganza, publisher WB Games released a new trailer showcasing the one thing even non-Mortal Kombat fans were looking forward to seeing: Mortal Kombat 11 Fatalities. Today's Fatalities trailer is only a taste of the over-the-top decapitation and dismemberment to come in the full game, but it's still pretty bloody disgusting in its own right. Have a look:
Mortal Kombat 11 has severed heads, exploding heads, severed exploding heads, heads peeled like a dang onion, spikes and scythes made from the blood of their victims - in other words, yes, it's a Mortal Kombat game. Do yourself a favor and find someone who loves you the way Mortal Kombat loves rendering viscera.
If you're wondering how Mortal Kombat 11 actually plays, you may find its new gameplay trailer more informative. It's also filled with absurdly gory finishers, but there are some more nuanced combos woven in, too. Series icons like Scorpion, Raiden, and Sub-Zero get the lion's share of the limelight, but some other fan-favorites are in there too, including Skarlet, who hasn't been seen since her DLC appearance in Mortal Kombat 9 (AKA Mortal Kombat 2011).
The character customization options shown on-stage at the reveal event aren't featured in the gameplay trailer, but they looked pretty promising. Depending on how deep it goes - we only got a brief look at one menu - selecting and augmenting different pieces of gear could significantly affect Mortal Kombat 11's matchups.
Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
