It's a poet's life for Firth and Broadbent

Now that he’s dropped out of directing the first His Dark Materials film, Shopgirl helmer Anand Tucker has filled his diary with work on And When Did You Last See Your Father?

It’s based on poet Blake Morrison’s memoir about life with his father, and will feature star turns from Jim Broadbent – playing pops from the age of 35 until his death at age 70 – and Colin Firth, as Morrison.

FilmFour and Number 9 Films are behind the new movie, which will judder into production in the UK this autumn. David Nicholls has adapted Morrison’s book.
