Impire video preview - Paradox introduces their new RTS

Paradox recently revealed their new title, Impire, and we had a chance to have a chat with the developers about their demon spawning, dungeon building RTS. An incredibly powerful Demon Lord, Báal-Abaddon, has been summoned to the mortal realm by a half-wit sorcerer named, Oscar Van Fairweather. Unfortunately, the incompetent magic caster trapped the essence of the demon inside the body of an imp and you will have the task of helping Báal regain his lost power. Watch as the developers take us through an early level in the video below.

The gameplay works much like a standard RTS. You'll build units, manage resources, upgrade the demon lord and build up your dungeon. Impire gets much deeper than we initially expected. Aside from the typical build, defend, and attack gameplay you see in most strategy games, you'll be able to take quests, customize you're demon lord avatar, and participate in an open battlefield with other players where you can compete in action-oriented capture-the-flag, escort, king of the hill or straight-up deathmatch style matches. To say the least, the game is looking very promising.

Impire will be a PC exclusive game and will cost a mere $19.99 when it releases early 2013. Be sure to check out our Impire game page for more information.
