Fox officially moving forward with Kingsman sequel

Fans of ass-kicking espionage antics rejoice, because The Wrap is reporting that Fox is officially moving forward with a sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Director Matthew Vaughn has previously mentioned that he would be keen to work on a sequel, and had already started turning over potential ideas for the follow-up. And having seen the original bring in $400 million worldwide, Fox is clearly keen to let him take a shot at it!

The report doesn’t actually confirm whether Vaughn has agreed to return, although assuming his schedule can be negotiated, we would expect to see him behind the camera once more. Taron Egerton is also expected to reprise his role as Eggsy.

As for where the plot might take us, Vaughn had hinted at a couple of details earlier in the year. “Poor Mark Strong will be going on a journey that he never imagined,” teased the director. “And we’ve got this idea to introduce the world to the American branch of the Kingsmen…”
