The many Minecraft biomes are a massive part of what makes the game so enjoyable and diverse today. From the basic origins of just a handful of different biomes, there are now over 20 primary regions, and many more once you consider variations like deep oceans and windswept hills.

There are also loads more biomes being added to the game with each new Minecraft drop, with the Sulfur Caves and Dappled Forest being among the most recent announcements. Here, I've got everything you need to know about those and the existing major Minecraft biomes as of update 26.2.

New Minecraft biomes

Here, I'll tell you about the latest biomes added to the game, that you can find in the current version. So, if you don't yet know and would rather be surprised, skip this part! However, if you want to know more about the latest Minecraft biomes or how to find them, this section's for you.

Sulfur Caves

The Sulfur Cave is the newest biome, added with the 26.2 update on June 16, 2026, and is perfect if you, like me, get a little tired of the same grey surroundings while mining. We may have Lush Caves and The Deep Dark to take our breath away, but there's still plenty of room for something new, and that's exactly what this is.

While it might look like it would fit better in the Nether, the Sulfur biome is so unique to the overworld that it's going to look fantastic when you spot that first red or yellow block during a mining session. These are Cinnabar and Sulfur blocks, and each have an entire family of building blocks relating to them, which will make for some great new Minecraft house ideas.

While you're taking in the sights, though, be careful where you step. Sulfur pools are bodies of water found within these caves, and the presence of Potent Sulfur beneath the water causes pockets of gas. Get too close to this gas, and you'll find yourself feeling a little... funny. You'll also be able to find a new friend or two in these Caves, with new Minecraft mob the Sulfur Cube.

Sulfur Caves can be found at any depth, and Sulfur pools even have a chance to be spotted above ground, indicating a Sulfur Cave beneath. Your best bet at finding one is simply to cave and mine, looking out for the biome's signature yellow or red blocks.

Upcoming Minecraft biomes

This section tells you everything we know so far about any upcoming Minecraft biomes that are set to be added in future drops, so they may not be able to be experienced right now, or you might be able to try them out in Minecraft snapshots or Preview.

The Dappled Forest

Announced during Minecraft Live May 2026, the Dappled Forest is the next new biome to be added to the sandbox game - and this one is really exciting.

Not only does this cute biome add autumnal-colored leaves for the first time without mods, following in the footsteps of the pink-hued Cherry Grove and white-tinged Pale Forest, but it also adds the first new structure we've had in some time: the Abandoned Camp!

The colorful leaves come as part of new Poplar trees, which will add a new family of beige-grey wood blocks for building with. There's also a new red bush variant, which maintains its color no matter where you place it.

The Abandoned Camp, meanwhile, is a small new structure that features a tent, some storage containers, and other handy loot, including a new place to spend the night. However, it's not that safe so take care! Perhaps the most exciting part of the Abandoned Camp, though, is a new building block that players like me have been craving for some time: the wool stair!! White wool stairs will be found as part of the tent structures in camps, but this also means you will be able to turn any wool color into a stair block, which is great news for builders.

As I've mentioned above, there are plenty of variants. For example, Mountains isn't actually a biome in itself any more, since it became Windswept Hills, but now can be used to refer to seven different biomes, including Jagged Peaks and Snowy Slopes. Water biomes, meanwhile, are split into warm, cold, hot, and other variants.

Each Minecraft biome has its own flora, fauna, blocks, and items that be found there, and some are rarer than others, so it's useful to know what you're looking for and how to spot it - or you can just explore and see what you find!

Doubling down on the power of Sleep, Espeon's ability to put foes to sleep with a 1-energy attack means that you can potentially do 80 damage on your first turn (assuming that you also have both Darkrai cards out), as well as leaving them unable to react. That's a devastating opening play, and buys you plenty of time to set up Altaria before coming in with major damage later on.

We've reduced the number of Altaria cards on the board to 1, as Area Zero allows you to draw more frequently and the upped attack power in the early game balances it out.

Arguably as much a Darkrai deck as a Giratina deck build, this one runs exclusively Dark energy because of Giratina's ability to empower itself. Meanwhile, Greninja's on the bench to target opponents with chip damage every turn, so while this is a deck with a weaker early game, cards like Darkrai and Iron Jugulis serve to whittle down the opponent and discourage them from really exploiting that early opportunity.

Given enough time, this deck can then come out swinging. Either Giratina is doing 130 damage per turn, or Darkrai is doing 80-100 damage depending on whether you keep putting energy on it. It's not quite as powerful as it used to be now that there's a greater selection of cards with equal (or more) power output, but it's still very strong and worth considering in the meta.

This is a deck with a pretty good draw power for Pokemon specifically, with cards like Fragrant Forest and May replacing the usual inclusion of Poke Balls. It's also a deck with a decent amount of survival built in, with Erika adding resistance to an already durable deck. You can swap cards like Erika and May out for Quick Grow Extract or Leaf Cape if you want to switch things up, or consider including the Memory Light tool card, as Grovyle's ability to attack the bench can be really effective in certain circumstances.

Then, once Lucario is set up, bring it to the active spot and begin a series of heavy duty attacks that few opponents can withstand for long.

For clarity, Fighting Pulse, at full power with both Korrina and the Arena of Antiquity, can do an astonishing 190 damage to an opponent. Up to 210 if it's weak to Fighting attacks! That's enough damage to KO the vast majority of Pokemon in PTCGP in a single strike.

The plan here is that you open with either Orthworm or Varoom if possible, quickly building up energy or setting up your board while putting energy on Scyther and Scizor on the bench. Then, once you're ready, Revravroom can freely swap Scizor in and out of the battlefield to keep making use of its Bullet Slugger attack with maximum damage. Tools like the Metal Core Barrier and the Steel Apron ensure a greater level of endurance than you'd normally get from a deck like this, while Sabrina and Cyrus give you a greater degree of control that allows you to target specific Pokemon.

If you want some ideas for variations, Skarmory is a good option to fold in for the early game, especially with the Tools involved. You can also add zero retreat costs energy generators like Pichu and Mantyke.

Mega Absol ex and Hydreigon in Pokemon TCG Pocket have been two of the most powerful Dark type cards in the meta since they were added, both for different reasons. Absol does moderate damage, but has a lot of health and causes opponents to discard Supporter cards with every attack, while Hydreigon is a self-damaging energy generator who can do 130 damage per turn, and it's not even an ex Pokemon! This pure dark deck is highly aggressive, using cheap energy attacks and poison to go in hard from the outset, as well as using the Fantastical Parade's Lucky Ice Pop item to help alleviate the damage done to Hydreigon by itself, or just to keep Mega Absol from being KO'd and losing you the game. This is a deck where you can't let up on the offence for a moment, and it works because it can tear through opponent's strategies before they have a chance to set up combos or counters to what you're doing.

Put simply, the strategy is to get Absol or Deino out there early, softening up the opponent with whatever cards you have in the active zone before building up to Hydreigon and unleashing its full power. You don't even have to be particularly protective over it, as Hydreigon's absurd damage output somehow doesn't make it a Pokemon ex, so even if it falls you don't give your opponents many points.

Fortnite Sprites have returned to the battle royale, after previously featuring in several seasons of Chapter 6. There are now a lot more of them than the original Air, Earth, and Water Sprites, and there's a whole new system built around them. You can now extract them from the island to build up your collection and then bring any one of the little helpers into each match from the start. This can get a bit complicated, so here's an explanation of how Sprites work in Fortnite, what their powers are, and how to level them up to Mastery.

What are the Fortnite Sprite powers?

Each of the Fortnite Sprites gives you a different power up when equipped, and their descriptions are given below:

• Rare:
  • Earth Sprite: You have a chance to find additional rare items when opening chests
  • Fire Sprite: Creates a fiery burst when you deal enough damage to an enemy
  • Water Sprite: Replenish shield while in water for you and your nearby Squad
• Epic:
  • Duck Sprite: Emoting or Jamming replenishes shields
  • Ghost Sprite: Grants cloak for a duration upon reloading
  • Demon Sprite: Siphon some health and shields when you eliminate an opponent
  • King Sprite: Your Pickaxe deals more damage
• Legendary:
  • Dream Sprite: Grants a random item at each level, exploding with legendary loot at Max Level
  • Punk Sprite: Possibly nothing... or infinitely something
• Mythic:
  • Zero Point Sprite: Spawn a Shield Bubble Jr. when you use a healing item on yourself

While most of those are self-explanatory, I go into more detail on the Punk Sprite below. While equipped, your Sprite will level up through opening chests, downing or eliminating opponents, and extracting Sprites, with the effect of their powers increasing up to Level 5.

If you're eliminated in a match then the current Sprite you have equipped will be lost, but you can spend Sprite Dust (earned by extracting Sprites) in the main menu to bring them back – the rarer they are, the higher the cost to recover them. In that menu you can also chose to equip a Sprite before you board the Battle Bus, though any you find during the match can also be swapped in and equipped.

What does the Punk Sprite do in Fortnite?

The Fortnite Punk Sprite description cryptically says it does "Possibly nothing... or infinitely something" – so here's an explanation of its actual power. Firstly, you have to level it up to Level 5 before it will do anything, then from that point on equipping a Punk Sprite has to possibility to grant you infinite ammo! Your weapons will still have the same magazine capacity as usual so you can't fire indefinitely, but reloading won't reduce your overall ammo count, which is pretty handy if you can combine this random chance with a powerful weapon.

How to extract Sprites in Fortnite

Extracting Sprites in Fortnite will add them to your collection, making them available for deployment in future matches and levelling them up in the process, as well as earning you Sprite Dust currency. To do this, you need to go to one of the Sprite Extraction Sites marked on the map above – which can also be identified by beams of light shining up into the sky.

When you arrive at an Extraction Site, hit the button on the control panel attached to the platform to trigger the arrival of an extractor crate – this takes a short time to be deployed, during which other nearby players will be alerted, so watch out for opponents. Once the crate lands, you can approach it and interact to extract any Sprites you are carrying, then interact again if you want to also extract the Sprite you have equipped. A couple of seconds later the crate leaves, and your extraction is done.

As well as adding them to your collection, extracting a Level 5 Sprite will earn you Mastery of it, and each Mastery you achieve will unlock rewards in the Sprites menu. These include Portable Extractors so you can save Sprites without having to go to an Extraction Site, Sprite Dust, XP, and cosmetic items.

It can be tricky to rescue or pet John Wick's dog in Fortnite because he can only be found in a couple of locations. There are two possible locations for John Wick's dog in Fortnite, and I've marked both on the map above. This spawn will be random in each match, and will either appear in the hotel lobby on the south side of Sinister Strip or in the sewers in the northeast of The Battlewoods. You'll know you're in the right place if you can hear the dog barking when you get close – if you don't find anything there, you'll need to head to the other location instead.

How to rescue or pet John Wick's dog

When you find John Wick's dog in Fortnite, he'll initially be locked in a cage guarded by a couple of NPC enemies who will attack when you get close. Eliminate them and a second wave of goons will spawn, so take them out as well. Once the threat is dealt with, interact with the cage to free the dog and then pet him to receive a selection of powerful weapons and items.

If another player has already completed the rescue, you can still come in afterwards and pet the dog to collect the weapons and items. The first time you rescue or pet John Wick's dog you'll also complete the quest and unlock him as a sidekick in your locker for use in future matches.

Fortnite Season 3 of Chapter 7, titled Runners, is now underway and there are some significant changes you need to be aware of. Sprites deliver a fresh gameplay mechanic

You can either equip one of the Fortnite Sprites from your collection before you board the battle bus or find them running around the island, and having one active means you can use their special powers to give yourself a boost. This can be anything from increasing your chance of finding rare items to dealing fiery damage with your weapons, and as you use them more they'll level up to become more powerful. Make sure you extract them at some point in the match though, as if you get eliminated while carrying one you'll lose your progress.

The battle pass brings a host of new characters

The Season 3 Battle Pass introduces a selection of fresh Fortnite characters to meet around the island or unlock as skins, including:

For those who sign up for the Battle Pass during launch week, there are bonus items including the Gold Huntress style for Dylan plus Marbled Speedboat, Venomous Chainsaw, and Gilded Cherub Holster, and further rewards will be available during the season such as John Wick and Dog, Gunglider, Dark Cubic Sneakers, and Blade of the Void.

In the meantime, make sure you rescue or pet John Wick's dog in Fortnite to add his canine companion to your locker as an equippable Sidekick.

There are fresh weapons in the loot pool

As always, a fresh season means there are Fortnite new weapons added to the loot pool to try out, and there are some interesting ones to watch out for. The Chaos Exploder Rifle is an AR that fires explosive cubes, which is great for taking out cover to reach a bunkered-down enemy, while the Seven Sliders let you slide at speed then enter slow time while aiming down sights to line up the perfect shot.

If you're trying to damage Dark Voyager in Fortnite, it'll likely be due to you working through the recently released weekly highlights quests before the current season comes to a close. Unlike most other quests, this particular challenge doesn't place any markers on your map to tell you where to go, which is why we're here to help. Read on for all of the possible Fortnite Dark Voyager locations, and how to damage him in an attempt to weaken him to complete this quest.

Fortnite Dark Voyager locations

There are three potential Fortnite Dark Voyager locations that we've marked on the map above, and this boss will randomly spawn at one of them. We've found him most often at the Dark Dominion POI towards the center of the island, but if he isn't there then the other locations should be checked – look for the boss icon on your minimap, represented by a skull wearing a crown, to quickly check if they're nearby.

If you see the icon and find the boss, then you can move on to the next step, otherwise make your way to a different location and try again. Bear in mind that if another player has already eliminated Dark Voyager then you won't be able to find them for the rest of that match.

How to damage Dark Voyager in an attempt to weaken him

Once you've spotted the boss, all you need to damage Dark Voyager is a weapon and some ammo – make sure you've got those before approaching, but the boss shouldn't become hostile until you aim a weapon at him or attack anyway. When the fight begins, go for headshots to deal the maximum damage possible, while keeping moving to avoid attacks from Dark Voyager and his summoned drones.

By doing this it won't take you long to rack up the required 500 damage in an attempt to weaken him, which is all you need to do to complete the quest, so you don't have to fully eliminate him. However, if you do eliminate him then you can grab a Legendary Chaos Reloader Shotgun, which is useful for working on several other quests you may have available.

The first ever Fortnite Community Day is just around the corner, and Epic are pulling out all the stops to make it an event to remember. There are cosmetic rewards unlocked just by logging on, beneficial gameplay modifiers including Double XP and more Rare Blue Chests, fresh content launching in the Shop featuring a much-anticipated arrival, and a big upcoming event reveal. When does Fortnite Community Day start?

Fortnite Community Day is taking place on Saturday, May 30 and will start at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST, then run for 24 hours and finish at the same time on Sunday, May 31. All players who log in during the Fortnite Community Day will automatically receive the Community 'Brella plus Community 'Brella Style and the Silver Surfer Wrap, while Battle Pass holders can also claim the Workplace Foundation Style as seen in this video. The Fortnite x Overwatch collab is launching on May 14, 2026, bringing a whole host of new content from Blizzard's long-running hero shooter to the Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, and Blitz. You can recruit your favorite allies to fight alongside you in new Overwatch-themed landmarks across the map, and fresh gameplay mechanics are also on the way. We're currently waiting while the Fortnite servers are down for this update to be deployed, but once it goes live, here is everything you can experience when the worlds of Fortnite and Overwatch collide.

What's included in the Fortnite x Overwatch collab?

As you can see from the image above, there's lots of new additions being made for the Fortnite x Overwatch collab. Look out for new themed landmarks around the map, including Hanamura, Busan Drum Pavilion, King's Row, and various Watchpoints. King's Row is particularly important for an upcoming gameplay addition, which we'll have more on later.

You'll be able to pick your main from the Shop, as from May 14 you can buy the Tracer, Mercy, Genji, and D.Va outfits along with their corresponding accessories and matching Lego styles. Some of their classic weapons are being added to the loot pool, so watch out for Tracer’s Pulse Pistols and Mercy’s Caduceus Staff. There will also be new characters you can recruit as Overwatch allies in-game to back you up in the fight, and while only Genji and D.Va have been confirmed so far there will no doubt be more available to meet and team up with.

Finally, there's a new gameplay mechanic on the way, once players on Team Ice King complete enough Fortnite Rivalries to progress the Showdown Leaderboard to Milestone 1. This will unlock the Overwatch Payload Anomaly, which spawns a Payload each match at King's Row Tower and awards Overwatch loot to all players who escort it home. Team Foundation will also unlock the Overwatch Dropship at Milestone 1, but further details for that have not yet been revealed.

When it comes to ranking the best Witcher games, you'd be surprised by how many there are to sift through. I certainly was, and have spent the past three days getting my head around the many spin-offs to CD Projekt Red's mainline RPG series. They all take place at different points in and around the original Polish novel saga, with a tiny bit of overlap with Netflix's The Witcher TV series for good measure. But with so many titles to choose from, I've come up with a few rules in making this list to keep things nice and simple.

Firstly, I've only listed the Witcher games you can play right now on modern platforms, and I've specifically used Steam as a benchmark. It would also be a very short list if I restricted it to just the best RPGs in the franchise, so I've widened my search to draw in some iconic narrative, tactical, and card-based offerings, too. Many of the games here are playable on mobile, while one of them is actually a PC and Xbox exclusive as of 2026, and a host of others are available on a range of consoles, ensuring that there's a Witchering delight for everyone to enjoy – even if you don't know where to start.

7. The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut

Calling it one of the best Witcher games is a bit of a stretch, but Geralt of Rivia's maiden voyage has to go somewhere on this list. 2008's enhanced edition of The Witcher came out a year after its initial 2007 launch, offering an extended experience for PC players to explore. At the time, it was a welcome little facelift to correct course and give the new franchise a head start toward greatness. Alas, the game itself does not hold up very well to the test of time.

Combat is a hard slog. Our The Witcher Enhanced Edition review noted the mystifying controls and "long-winded" storytelling, even by 2008's standards, and the graphics and movement systems have only gotten clunkier with age. Then there's the tokenizing Romance cards Geralt collects upon successfully wooing one of the RPG's lovely ladies…. Yeah, it's altogether a bit of a chaotic mess to play in 2026, and I can only recommend it to absolute Witcher die-hards. Otherwise, I'd wait it out for the Witcher 1 Remake, which is currently in the works.

6. The Witcher Adventure Game

Perhaps the most dicey Witcher game on this list, The Witcher Adventure Game is a 2014 digitized rendition of the popular board game. You can play against either the computer or your real-life friends as one of four characters from CD Projekt Red's games and the original novels themselves. Then, you'll be vying to conquer the board either through combat or the gift of the gab, whichever your character excels at most.

The Witcher Adventure Game isn't an RPG, really, though the stat-based gameplay does funnel you toward taking certain avenues when it comes to problem-solving (we all know Geralt isn't a diplomat). Now roughly 12 years old, The Witcher Adventure Game is a niche recommendation in 2026 – that UI still feels like an eyesore to me, and the whole game wears its mobile game aesthetic on its war-torn sleeve. But if you're looking for a more strategic approach to The Witcher universe that you can take on-the-go, it's one to keep in mind.

5. Reigns: The Witcher

The newest entrant on my list of best Witcher games, Reigns is a fast-paced and silly narrative adventure where you'll be swiping through Dandelion's (aka Jaskier's) ballads for a choose-you-own-adventure of epic proportions. I love playing Reigns on my phone, whether at the bus stop or on the airplane, but it's also great fun to sit down and play on my computer when I fancy something silly yet compulsive.

The Tinder-like swiping is a fun gimmick that works seamlessly with Reigns' scenario-based gameplay, casting Geralt in the role of many a tale, all of them yours to shape. It's refreshing to have a more lighthearted way to engage with The Witcher – one that won't ask you to murder either a whole village or some little orphan kids. Be it bathing, romancing, "dying a lot", or getting grubby in a monster fight, Reigns trades the narrative weight and mechanical complexity of its RPG counterparts for pure bardic nonsense. And honestly, I love that for Geralt.

4. The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings

As mentioned in our The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings review, Geralt's second RPG outing is where things really start picking up steam. With a reworked combat system and a darker, more mature tone, CD Projekt Red "replaced or improved all the needlessly cumbersome design decisions that plagued the first game" to deliver a bombastic RPG adventure that, sadly, you still can't play on PlayStation.

I've docked it a few points for the purposes of this list – I'm trying to find easily accessible options, after all – but The Witcher 2 deserves a special shoutout as the game that gave us our first proper taste of what Geralt of Rivia could become. Think agonizing moral conundrums, nail-biting battles, stunning world design (by 2011's standpoint, though the enhanced edition cleans up a lot of it)... CD Projekt Red struck gold with this one, and if you have the right platforms at hand, you won't regret going back 15 years to experience it.

3. Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales

Card-based RPG Thronebreaker is one of the most unique and best Witcher games of the bunch. As a prequel to the events of CD Projekt Red's mainline games, it sees players set out across the continent as Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia, drawing cards and finding allies to rally the troops and build up a formidable army.

But although it's a companion piece to the next item on this list, this isn't your average deck-builder. Our five-star Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales review explains how this spin-off thrives in its very own right, as "instead of drawing through your deck and needing to react to your opponent's every move, you're more focused on simply sticking to the plan set forth by your opening hand." It's the perfect setup for choice and consequence moments as effects ripple out over the course of a 30-hour playthrough, and an excellent isometric venture for fans of the best tactical RPGs who want a dose of the Witcherverse at the same time.

2. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game

I'm not sure if it's a contentious opinion, but the digital Gwent card game is probably the second-best Witcher game by virtue of its sheer staying power. Inspired by the popularity of playing Gwent in The Witcher 3, this game lets you do nothing but that as you battle it out in 1v1 matches against strangers via online matchmaking. CD Projekt Red cut its ongoing dev support for it in 2023, handing the reins to the community instead – and it's still just as popular.

Players dutifully vote for changes to the card meta, ushering in a new era of true democracy that protects the core game experience while ensuring it stays fresh and exciting. There's also a physical edition if you're looking for fixed parameters, which our US Managing Editor deems "just as engrossing as the original" in his Gwent: The Legendary Card Game review. Gwent is clearly here to stay, and I can't wait to (hopefully) see it in The Witcher 4 too.

Over a decade later, Witcher 3 is the undisputed king among the best third-person RPGs. Man's sweat has spilled over his brow and into his eyes as he's labored over stone, then metal, and the Windows PC for three million years just for romantic fantasy RPG Love and Deepspace to prove that what humanity needs is not complicated. It has already been written on cave walls. It's stick figures having sex.

Shanghai-based developer Infold Games' promotional material for Love and Deepspace's new Lingering Lust event, out April 30, doesn't "reinvent the wheel" – it embraces it. And by that I mean, we're still talking about stick figures having sex. Though, due to internet censorship rules in China, Infold Games has also opted to tease its new 5-Star Interactive Memory series to some of its 50 million users with videos of words rhythmically thumping against other words.

One player on Reddit shares an example of these region-specific trailers originally posted to the Chinese social media app RedNote, revealing – according to their translation – descriptions of Love and Deepspace's self-insert main character and jacked alien Xavier humping as butterflies twirl around them. Visually, this translates to the words 水 water animated to undulate at the bottom of a black screen while 你 you puffs big and small as if panting, held against the word for 泉眼 spring head.

"(I think it's a visual euphemism for another wet hole?!)," the Reddit user disclaims about the spring head. The latest batch of 5-Star Memories – vignettes that can also be used to upgrade your preferred love interest's attack power during battles with psycho monsters – are set in an especially humid hot spring.

Love and Deepspace fans on internationally available social media were instead treated to erotic animations, including one of stick figure Xavier blushing as he presses his hairless noggin to your thigh, represented by a bold, black line, and then moaning contently. It's polite, but on Twitter, the video is nonetheless marked as age-restricted for me (and other Love and Deepspace players around the world report the same).

I can report firsthand that the fully animated 5-Star Memories available to preview within the actual Love and Deepspace app are soaked with hot-spring steam and bubbles. The water content is clearly 99% as Infold says, but I do wonder – what about the remaining 1%? It likely isn't easily identifiable by modern science.

In any case, I know some may find Love and Deepspace's commitment to softcore eroticism – whether in words, the humble stick figure, or love interests constructed to look like Michaelangelo's David as an anime step-brother – cheap. To these people, I say it's true that many games featuring sex can be filthy and repulsive, which is why the entire NSFW video game genre is met with hostility from mainstream storefronts like Steam.

But if games are art, and art interprets life, then games should be able to be as vulgar as being alive – which sometimes features sex, yes, and gore, and other subjects you don't like talking about.

Love and Deepspace, a game catered to and made by women, is bold enough to both embody that idea and bring it to an otherwise frothy, strawberry milkshake gacha game that lets me do house decorating and draw red hearts in my journal. So when I'm not overwhelmed by the shock of stick figures gyrating like hula girls gone wild, there is a part of me that finds that aspect of the game powerful.

Female video game players can crave mature experiences like everyone else, and while video games too often exploit women's sensuality rather than cater to us (I'm thinking of Stellar Blade, upskirt achievements), popular The Sims mod WickedWhims, Love and Deepspace, and upcoming dating adventure game Silent Whispers push the industry forward in treating women like we're… people. Regular, freaky people, who want art to help us feel things in our hearts – and hot springs.

Crowning the best Diablo game of all time is as fearsome a feat as going up against the devil himself. Developer Blizzard has put almost 30 years into its top-down high fantasy epic, and as a result, has delivered some of the best ARPGs ever.

Loot is king in all of these games as you take on PvP and PvE challenges, and close to every single one is memorable for its own reasons. Still, I've ranked the best Diablo games by looking at the holistic package, considering all DLCs under the umbrella of their corresponding base game. To mix things up (and save myself from a miserably short list), I've also included the popular mobile spin-off for anyone looking to hunt demons on-the-go.

It's also worth noting that unlike many of our other best RPG list rankings, I've decided to forego our typical "vibe" category (which you can read more about in our FAQ section) for each individual game here. This is because Diablo is all about expecting the unexpected as you embark upon thrilling adventures with your friends against formidable foes. With that all out of the way, are you ready to descend into Sanctuary? Here are all the best Diablo games to play in 2026, ranked from worst to best!

5. Diablo

It's hard to recommend the first entry as the definitive best Diablo game ever, but it definitely earns points for kicking off the series in the first place. Diablo 1 sees you cleansing a demonic scourge from the mortal realm of Sanctuary, which once existed as an oasis of calm and place to take refuge amid Heaven and Hell's ongoing war. It's a top-down game riffing off the best CRPGs, though its dungeon-crawling and combat-heavy focus makes it an action roleplaying experience through and through.

The snag here is that you can only play it on PC these days, specifically in your Internet browser. It's by far the clunkiest of the bunch for obvious age-related reasons, but it's still a surprisingly deep and enjoyable Diablo game for those who want to see where the journey began. Or, you know, for anyone looking for one of the best free games you can access anywhere you have an internet connection.

4. Diablo 3

Diablo 3 marked an important next step for the franchise. With a super strong console port, as praised in our Diablo 3 review, and a moreish loot system that makes dungeon-crawling that much more thrilling, here is where the hack n' slash DNA of the series started to really take root as an iconic feature of the best Diablo games yet to come

Of course, there are some caveats. The story here is less than memorable, with our Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls review remarking how, even with a bombastic new class, the DLC's sparse battery of new content doesn't quite justify the price tag. It's also almost too much of a grind, if that's a thing at all in Diablo, with tough boss battles feeling somewhat miserable to bang your head against. Still, its high-stakes action is enough to make any ARPG fan sing, and its impressive range of platforms makes it a solid all-rounder.

3. Diablo Immortal

Which franchise doesn't have a mobile offshoot at this point? Set between the second and third mainline games, Diablo Immortal is one of the most accessible and best MMORPGs due to its mobile free-to-play status. For that reason and more, I'm putting it pretty high on this list of best Diablo games.

Right off the bat, Diablo Immortal gave dark fantasy fans something to chew on during the wait for Diablo 4. It's also surprisingly complex for a mobile and tablet game, with loads of Diablo Immortal classes to choose from, a huge following on PC, and an engaging, more robust endgame experience compared to Diablo 3 that keeps the fun going long after you complete your quest across new and familiar parts of Sanctuary. Whether you go for Immortal over Diablo 3 will depend on whether you're here for the long game or not, so I did have trouble deciding on rank placements here – it's totally subjective.

2. Diablo 2: Resurrected

Bringing the 2000 original to modern consoles for a nostalgic blast from the 20-year-old past, Diablo 2: Resurrected is one of the best Diablo games whether or not you've played it before. "Diablo 2 definitely feels like a game ripped out of time, but that's honestly refreshing," according to my ARPG-loving colleague, and I'm inclined to agree.

Refreshed graphics make the isometric camera feel fluid and sharp, giving a bird's eye view of the action while skimping on none of the detail. February 2026's Reign of the Warlock update also brought a fresh class option to Diablo 2 for the first time in 25 years, bringing players flocking back to it in their droves despite all the newness coming to Diablo 4 at the same time. Resurrected polishes up one of the earliest games to deliver a refreshed take on one of the best fantasy RPGs ever, and it's well worth your time in 2026.

1. Diablo 4

Diablo 4 is the pinnacle of what Blizzard always wanted the series to be. Hailed as a "magnificent and absurd loot theme park" by our Editor-in-Chief in his Diablo 4 review, I have no qualms awarding it top spot on this list. As both a refreshing new adventure and an amalgamation of what makes the best Diablo games stand out, Diablo 4 offers more RPG depth than ever before, now with slower-burn, more thoughtful character progression and customization than its predecessors.

Its devs are proud of how the game allows them to get into the nitty-gritty of the series' complex lore, with the recent launch of second DLC Lord of Hatred further cementing that commitment to storytelling, worldbuilding, and bombastic ARPG combat. Blizzard says it's all-in on keeping those updates coming (maybe forever, apparently), so there's never been a better time to lose yourself in Sanctuary as the war wages on.
