Comic conventions are an integral part of the comic book and fandom experience. They allow fans to meet their favorite comic creators, buy an array of comic book merchandise, and bond with other fans, often over the course of several consecutive days.

The COVID-19 pandemic and other global health crises have stymied the 'classic' comic convention experience, but convention organizers are slowly beginning to return to in-person events. Digital conventions are also continuing, and some organizers are using a hybrid model for both digital and in-person events.

With that in mind, we've assembled a list of upcoming comic book conventions happening all over the world.

Please keep in mind your safety. Pay attention to local authorities about social distancing guidelines, and check with the conventions for how they're handling the crowds. Be informed and make the best decision for you and those you're bringing with you.

A number of major conventions have yet to announce dates for their next event, but we've got our eyes on the news and will update this list on a frequent basis.

There is no one who can contest Charlize Theron's' badassery, and fortunately, SDCC 2020 agree. So much, in fact, they dedicated an entire panel looking back at some of her best action moments.

Speaking on the panel, Theron reflected on how Mad Max: Fury Road might have been a turning point in terms of the roles she looked for. "I am incredibly proud of what we pulled off, I really am. I'm really proud of that character," she said of Imperator Furiosa. "Furiosa is definitely one of the most important characters I've ever played. I saw the potential, I knew how special it was right from the beginning and I chased it really hard because of that."

Furiosa is no doubt one of the greatest action heroes of the last decade, and it seems the character had a similar impact on Theron herself. "I saw something I'd never seen before as an opportunity for myself as an actor. Furiosa was the first time I felt I couldn't even look at her as a character. She felt so real to me."

The actress went on to discuss filming some of the insane action on the Fury Road set with stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave, "We really left it all on the dancefloor," she said, adding how physical the shoot was.

If you haven't heard, a Furiosa prequel is coming. Though Theron won't be returning to the role. She recently said that hearing the news was "a tough one to swallow," but added that "I fully respect George, if not more so in the aftermath of making Fury Road with him. He’s a master, and I wish him nothing but the best.“  No news yet on who will be replacing Theron as the young Imperator, but Anya Taylor Joy has thrown her hat in the ring via Skype.

Comic-Con 2020 is finally here – and, as you may have noticed, things are a little different this year. Over the next few days, some of the biggest shows will have their panels streamed live and in full for the very first time, starting with Thursday’s packed schedule. Frankly, knowing how to watch Comic-Con @ Home is a priority up there with getting your favourite snacks ready and making sure your chair is extra comfy.

Below, we’ll guide you through how to watch and stream everything from Comic-Con 2020. No more jostling for lines outside Hall H or battling with large crowds on the conference floor. This is every Comic-Con 2020 stream live and beamed directly into your home.

With big hitters such as The Boys, the Star Trek Universe, and The Walking Dead all here from 23 July to Sunday, July 27, it pays to be ahead of the game on what might just be your very first SDCC event. Ready? Here’s how to watch Comic-Con 2020.

How to watch Comic-Con 2020

The organisers of SDCC have made things very easy. Whereas nabbing a seat in Hall H would have once cost you thousands, it's now simple: head over to Comic-Con's YouTube channel.

Yes, every panel at Comic-Con 2020 will be streaming live onto YouTube, and the links are already available to find. All you need to do is find the panel you're interested in watching on the main Comic-Con website, click on that panel's page, and then follow the YouTube link that's available there. For instance, this link will take you to the Star Trek panel on Thursday at 10am EST / 6pm BST. All the Comic-Con 2020 stream links will live closer to each panel taking place.

Which panels should I watch?

There are over 350 panels being streamed at Comic-Con 2020, including minor ones on smaller comic series to huge ones featuring the entire cast of The Boys season 2. The New Mutants movie is getting a panel at Comic-Con At Home, and you have a new trailer to tide you over until then.

The official Twitter account for New Mutants shared the news and the trailer this afternoon. The trailer is a quick introduction to the unfortunate predicament our young meta-human heroes find themselves in: locked in a secure facility that seems committed to making them face their deepest fears for a mysterious end. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters this ain't. It also features sudden horniness occurring at inopportune times, because this is a movie about adolescence as much as it is about superpowers.

The Comic-Con At Home panel will be held online (like the rest of the convention) and is set to begin at 2 pm PDT / 5 pm EDT / 9 pm BST on July 23. Q-Force and Daybreak writer Ira Madison the third will lead the discussion, along with being joined by stars Anya Taylor Joy, Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, Charlie Heaton, and New Mutants director Josh Boone.

The topic of the panel hasn't been publicly announced yet, though with the film's release date just over a month away, they should have plenty to talk about. On that note, The New Mutants is currently set to debut on August 28 after an extensive series of delays - it was originally set to arrive in 2018, then allegedly underwent reshoots to add a new character and play up the film's horror element - and then was set to arrive in April before the COVID-19 pandemic derailed those plans.

With theaters yet to reopen en masse, it's far from a sure thing that The New Mutants will make its latest release date. We'll have to keep an eye on the panel to see if the cast and director have any news to share on that front.

San Diego Comic-Con is doing things a little differently this year. Titled “Comic-Con @ Home,” you’ll have a front-row seat to some of the biggest names in comics and entertainment without having to deal with the crowds clambering towards Hall H – and the first panel details for the late July event have now been revealed.

Taking place between July 23 and July 26, the virtual SDCC will feature 300-400 panels according to The Wrap.

Among the official big-name panels so far are *deep breath*: Archer, Bob's Burgers, Bill & Ted, a Constantine reunion with Keanu Reeves, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, new Marvel TV show Helstrom, The Simpsons, Solar Opposites, What We Do in the Shadows, and a conversation with Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Expect the likes of Marvel Studios and Netflix's The Witcher to also feature.

While there may be “live elements to some programming,” it’s expected that all panels will be “filmed ahead of time by studios and networks and submitted in advance.”

In essence, that removes one of the most appealing things about Comic-Con: the fans. With no Q&As, no reactions, and no instantly-iconic sharp intakes of breath and loud cheers – think Natalie Portman taking the stage with Mjolnir in a Thor: Love and Thunder announcement or Zack Snyder announcing Batman v Superman – the experience will be a little diluted.

What won’t be diluted, however, is the sheer quantity on show. While not panel has been announced as of writing – though expect some news shortly – it’s comforting to know that, should you have your pass, you’ll be able to waltz into any of the hundreds of panels on offer. No fuss, no hassle, and certainly no sweat. Perfect.

The virtual con season will also roll into late summer with DC’s FanDome event in August promising a presence from the Justice League Snyder Cut, to Wonder Woman 1984, and even James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting few weeks for comic book, comic book movie, and entertainment fans alike – all from the comfort of your own home.

San Diego Comic-Con at Home will be free for all, with panels, presentations, and more all set for the 2020 show's previous dates.

The first details for the event arrived via Collider, one month after plans for Comic-Con at Home were first revealed. According to the announcement, Comic-Con at Home will run from July 22 through 26, and all of the events will be free to (virtually) attend. That includes the usual assortment of panels, so there's no need to line up hours and hours to get into the biggest presentations at Hall H.

Comic-Con at Home will also include gaming activities, a masquerade, and - of course - merch: keep your eyes out for an online exhibit hall full of sellers offering promotional prices and limited-edition items.

“For the first time in our 50-year history, we are happy to welcome virtually anyone from around the globe," SDCC spokesperson David Glanzer told Collider. "Though stay-at-home conditions make this a very difficult time, we see this as an opportunity to spread some joy and strengthen our sense of community.”

To be fair, one of the things that usually makes Comic-Con a big deal is the exclusives: stuff that you can only see if you can attend the event in person, like early looks at new trailers the rest of the world won't get to watch for months (except in crappy off-screen recordings if somebody sneaks their phone in). We'll have to wait and see whether Comic-Con throws these announcements open for all, or if it just goes a little lower key with the trailer-packed panels this year.

Either way, it sounds like a good reason to keep staying inside and scrolling the internet.

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2020 may have been cancelled, but the organisers have announced a ready-made replacement – one that doesn’t include crowded floors and the long, long lines for Hall H that the event is known for.

Say hello to Comic Con at Home, the new event that will be running later this summer in lieu of SDCC 2020 skipping this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As the teaser points out, things will be a lot more chilled from the comfort of your own home. So, get the snacks in and put your feet up on your recliner. Yes, pets are welcome too.

Unfortunately, outside of the summer release window, nothing is known about the upcoming SDCC event, including who will be turning up – could Marvel have a presence at the re-jigged showcase? – and whether you’ll have to pay to tune in to some of the biggest panels.

With Wonder Woman 1984 one of the few major releases left around the corner and most of Marvel Phase 4 shuffling back to 2021 and beyond, we perhaps shouldn't expect too much in the way of new news and internet-breaking reveals – but it’s still nice to know that the long-running event is still around in some form this year.

It’s also worth noting that the Comic Con at Home event doesn’t mark the end for a more traditional SDCC. The pop-culture extravaganza is set to return from July 22-July 25, 2021 from the San Diego Convention Center. No word on whether pets are allowed in… yet.

San Diego Comic-Con 2020 has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, marking the first time in the event's 50 year history that it has been cancelled. San Diego Comic-Con 2020 was due to take place between July 23-26 in California. The event is now due to take place between July 22-25, 2021.

The official statement from the organisers of San-Diego Comic-con reads: "For the first time in its 50-year history San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual pop-culture celebration, announced today with deep regret, that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020.

“Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action, we know it is the right decision. We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.” 

The status of the convention was up in the air only until recently, with many fans calling for its cancellation in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Big events in the gaming industry like Gamescom and E3 were previously cancelled earlier into the spread of the virus. 

While this is certainly upsetting news considering social distancing restrictions may very well be lifted by mid-July in some parts of the world, the announcement is not too surprising considering the state of California's recent stance on social gatherings. Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti recently said that he doesn't expect California to hold any mass gatherings until 2021. 

"Nothing I've heard would indicate that we'll be having thousands of people gathering anytime soon and probably not for the rest of this year," Garcetti told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. With the details and facts about COVID-19 still being discovered and with no vaccination currently available, just when exactly large events can safely happen again is unclear.

It's not clear if San Diego Comic Con will hold any type of virtual events like what Gamescom is doing in August, but we'll keep you in the loop in case any news breaks. And, while this is a bummer, there's a ton of great stuff being in the face of the coronavirus. It: Chapter 2

The first trailer to show at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was for It: Chapter 2. For a couple of hours, the trailer was unavailable online. However, Warner Bros have since made the footage available globally. Watch the creepy clown Pennywise above. 

Top Gun: Maverick

Who doesn't love a surprise? Tom Cruise flew on by San Diego Comic-Con to drop off the first teaser trailer for Top Gun: Maverick. "I was always asked ‘When are you going to do another one?’" the actor said on stage. "Well, you’ve been very patient with me. I felt like it was my responsibility to really deliver for you."

Terminator: Dark Fate

Arnie's back, once again, as the Terminator. And the former Governor of California was kind enough to swing by San Diego Comic-Con to show those lucky fans in Hall H some new footage from Terminator: Dark Fate. Unfortunately, that footage has not been made available online. However, our team on the ground were at the panel and you can read their description of the footage here.

Cats

Arriving a day earlier than scheduled is the Cats trailer. There are no words to describe the weirdness of the whole thing: why Ian McKellen, Judi Dench and Idris Elba signed up for this is anyone's guess. Yet, the Cats movie exists, it's happening, and you should definitely watch the trailer right now, if only just so you can trawl through Twitter after this and enjoy all the great Cats memes. 

His Dark Materials

The first adaptation of Phillip Pullman's fantasy series, The Golden Compass, may have stumbled out of the blocks back in 2007, but this joint HBO/BBC production is looking like it'll more than make up for it. As the trailer proves, the colourful chaos can't work without a stellar cast, and His Dark Materials has it in abundance: Logan's Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, James McAvoy, The Wire's Clarke Peters, and Lin-Manuel Miranda all star.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

SDCC always seems to bring the goods. The Jay and Silent Bob reboot trailer is here, and the reunion is as delightfully silly and juvenile as you could have hoped for. Some famous faces have cropped up too. Is that Chris Hemsworth?!

Creepshow

Creepshow is getting a macabre makeover. Based off the 1980s film series of the same name, the new adaptation will be twisted into 12 horror anthology tales. Think Black Mirror mixed with Treehouse of Horror but way scarier and you're along the right lines. It's great to see Scream vet-turned-deathmatch wrestler (seriously, look it up) David Arquette return to his horror roots too.

Rick and Morty season 4

The gang's all here! Well, not quite. But Taika Waititi more than makes up for it. Yep, he's voicing the purple alien with the unbelievably annoying app in this first Rick and Morty season 4 clip. Take a look now - it's the next best thing to Interdimensional Cable.

The Witcher Netflix series SDCC trailer

The Witcher Netflix series SDCC trailer explodes right out the blocks, and doesn't let up until the very last second. And even then, those final moments feature a creepy-as-heck spider and Geralt's eyes mysteriously turning black. You had our curiosity; now you have our attention.

The Walking Dead season 10

Where to begin with this The Walking Dead season 10 SDCC trailer? For starters, Alpha and Carol face off in the tensest showdown since Negan sent Lucille swinging for the fences. Then there's that kiss, that boat and -- look, just watch it to find our what you're missing. It's fantastic.

The Walking Dead movie teaser

Lest we forget the Walking Dead movies that AMC has planned. In a slight surprise, Rick's journey will be exclusively seen in theaters; no made-for-TV trilogy here, people. The teaser isn't much, but it'll tide us over until we hear more.

21 Bridges

While the Russo Brothers may not have announced any new Marvel projects during their Hall H panel, the duo did release a trailer for their forthcoming movie 21 Bridges that stars an Avengers - Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman. A trailer for the movie was launched at the event, which you can watch above.

Westworld

These violent delights have -- you know how it goes by now. The Westworld season 3 SDCC 2019 trailer, though, has thrown us through a loop. This is the fullest look at the outside world thus far, and it looks absolutely beautiful. Now, don't mind us, we're mining the trailer for clues as to what it all could mean.

Watchmen

The new comic book adaptation didn't have an official presence at SDCC this year, though HBO still chose to drop a second Watchmen trailer during the event. Doctor Manhattan is back, and that's just the beginning of the myriad questions we have about the two-minute clip.

Picard

Everyone else can go home. The Star Trek: Picard SDCC 2019 trailer may have just stolen the show, Marvel not withstanding. Not only is Patrick Stewart back, but Data and Seven of Nine are too. This looks to be perfect for Trekkies and the non-converted alike.

Short Treks

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yes, Marvel's Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. is still going. In fact, it's getting better reviews than ever, even if the show is so loosely connected to the movies it may as well be set in an alternate timeline.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Gelfling and the gang are back in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The prequel series, which will touch down on Netflix later this year, had a big presence at San Diego Comic-Con, with the first episode being shown at the show's panel. While we are not so lucky as to have the entire premiere, we do have this behind-the-scenes look at the show.

Batwoman

While Ruby Rose may have had to pull out of her appearance at Comic-Con, the audience were still treated to the first episode of her upcoming show Batwoman. For us mere mortals who were unable to attend the event, we instead have the above trailer to enjoy.

The Expanse

Remember when The Expanse was cancelled by Syfy? Yes, it was a dark time, but luckily Amazon were on hand to bring back the show for a fourth season. And now, the first trailer is here for us to enjoy.

Steven Universe The Movie

Steven's back on Earth, and this time in movie form! The acclaimed cartoon returns September 2 to Cartoon Network - and you can watch the first trailer above.

Snowpiercer

Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs are on a train that never stops; that's perhaps the most simplistic way of describing Snowpiercer. The new series looks set to be equally as enthralling as director Bong Joon-Ho's 2013 movie - though we could do with Chris Evans coming back for the series. Because who couldn't do with more Captain America in their life?

The Man in the High Castle

All good things must come to an end. The fourth season of Man in the High Castle will be the show's last, and Amazon debuted a short clip from the premiere at SDCC.

Harely Quinn

The DC Universe streaming service continues to release more and more exclusive content; content unfortunately not available to us in the UK. That's made only more frustrating by how good the animated Harley Quinn series looks. 

Arrow, Black Lightning, The Flash and Supergirl

While Warner Bros may have decided against releasing any new details about their movie slate at SDCC, they did release a spate of trailers for their TV Universe. Watch trailers for the Arrow (coming to an end with season 8), Black Lightning, The Flash and Supergirl above.

The Black Widow movie has been announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019. the movie has been filming in the UK for some time and is just one of a handful of new properties to arrive as part of Marvel Phase 4,.

Scarlett Johansson is back as the eponymous ass-kicking Avenger, having previously appeared as the character in multiple other MCU movies. She will be joined by Midsommar actress Florence Pugh as Yelena, a "sister figure" to Natasha Romanoff, Stranger Things acotor David Harbour (who will play the character Alexi), Rachel Weisz, and O-T Fagbenle. It was revealed that Black Widow will face off against the villain Taskmaster.

The Black Widow movie will be directed by Cate Shortland, and will debut in cinemas on May 1, 2020, the first of the Phase 4 movies.

Of course, there’s also the small matter of where it all fits into the timeline (and if you thought the Marvel timeline was confusing before, just you wait). Despite being a Marvel Phase 4 addition, the Black Widow movie will take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. 

"They've known each other for a while and there's a complex history there," Harbour told IGN. "This movie happens right after Captain America: CIvil War, and so those events do factor in."

Thor: Love and Thunder has been announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019. One of a handful of new properties to arrive as part of Marvel Phase 4, Thor 4 will continue the story of Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder post-Avengers: Endgame and also introduce a female Thor - played by none other than Natalie Portman. Tessa Thompson will also return as Valkyrie.

Taika Waititi will be back to direct the film, having also helmed Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi apparently moved on from his live-action adaptation of Akira to get to work on Thor 4. 

Thor: Love and Thunder, which will take inspiration from Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor run, will reach cinemas November 5, 2021.

Also at the Hall H panel, Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed The Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also make up part of Phase 4. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019. One of a handful of new properties to arrive as part of Marvel Phase 4, Doctor Strange 2 will continue the story of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme.

While details regarding the plot remain thin, we do know that Elizabeth Olsen will return as the Scarlett Witch in the movie. Considering she will later appear in WandaVision, we expect she may go about trying to save Vision.

Despite Doctor Strange’s powers proved more than a match for Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, expect him to be getting knocked into the fifth dimension by Baron Mordo, who betrayed Strange during the first movie. Scott Derrickson is back to direct, and C. Robert Cargil will be penning the script.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will reach cinemas May 7 2021.

 Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings has been announced at San Diego Comic Con 2019. One of a handful of new properties to arrive as part of Marvel Phase 4, Shang-Chi - also known as the Master of Kung Fu - will be Marvel Studio's first lead Asian superhero, and will be played by Simu Liu.

Destin Daniel Cretton (who worked with Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson on The Glass Castle) has signed on to direct the movie. Tony Leung will play the villain The Mandarin in the movie, with Awkwafina playing a supporting role

Shang-Chi will reach cinemas February 12, 2021.

Friday at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was huge. Trailers for the Witcher Netflix series, The Walking Dead season 10, Rick and Morty season 4 and more were all shown; The Boys was renewed for a second season; the Avengers: Endgame writers revealed how Captain America almost died in the movie; and the Russo Brothers announced their upcoming slate of movies.

When is San Diego Comic-Con 2019?

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 started on Thursday, July 18, and runs through until Sunday, July 21. There was also a preview night on Wednesday, July 17, filled with premieres and pilots. This year’s offering included the world premiere of the new live-action Batwoman and Pennyworth shows.

As you’ll soon see below, the big-hitters are on Friday and Saturday, with Thursday being very much a warm-up for the main event, and Sunday being effectively a rest day in terms of panels.

How to watch San Diego Comic-Con 2019 in the US and UK

Unlike the infinitely more open E3 2019, San Diego Comic-Con 2019 streams aren’t as readily available. I know, I know. It sucks. If the pattern of last year is followed, everything will be a behind closed-doors affair. Unless you have a ticket to, say, Marvel Studios in Hall H on the day, you won’t be able to watch the event live.

Even so, there’s plenty of reasons to keep track of the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 schedule. That’s because we can expect several social media-adjacent reveals as each panel and conference is going on. So, if Marvel Phase 4 is being revealed on a certain time and on a certain day, for example, then you should be endlessly checking the official Marvel Studios Twitter account. GamesRadar’s troops on the ground at SDCC will also be posting exclusive stories from each event to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on, so be sure to keep refreshing the GamesRadar Twitter account, as well as the SFX and Total Film Twitter accounts. Yep. He’s back. While Arnie hasn’t been confirmed as of writing for the Terminator Dark Fate SDCC 2019 panel, expect him to show up alongside Linda Hamilton and, potentially some brand-new footage.

Gears of War

TIME: 13:00 PT / 16:00 ET / 21:00 BST

Xbox has the skinny on the upcoming Gears of War panel: "Join the developers and minds behind the Gears of War Universe as they discuss the past, present, and future of this storied franchise." Gears' foray into wider media may be discussed here, including the untitled Gears of War movie.

Marvel Games

TIME: 13:30 PT / 16:30 ET / 21:30 BST

Kicking things off is the Marvel Games SDCC 2019 panel, hosted by Greg Miller. Marvel has confirmed on its website that we’ll see “new content” from July’s hottest release, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, plus Iron Man VR and Square Enix’s Avengers game. Excelsior!

His Dark Materials

TIME: 16:45 PT / 19:45 ET / 00:45 BST

BBC and HBO are combining forces for what is promising to be a brilliant adaptation of Phillip Pullman's epic fantasy trilogy. With the show due out later this year, expect a blowout filled with cast members, trailers, teasers, and maybe even a proper release date.

Avengers: Endgame writers panel

TIME: 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET / 18:00 BST

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely sure love to talk about Avengers: Endgame – and they have their biggest platform yet on the Friday. Hopefully, we will find out about some more Avengers: Endgame deleted scenes, and maybe even get some other interesting tidbits that never quite made it onto the big screen. One to watch, for sure.

Avengers: Endgame directors panel

TIME: 11:00 PT / 14:00 ET / 19:00 BST

Following on from Markus and McFeely’s own panel, the Russos are in town to make this a real one-two Endgame extravaganza. Deadline is reporting that a reunion between the cast is also a possibility here, so expect a final hurrah between the likes of RDJ and Chris Evans. I can’t wait 3000.

Fear the Walking Dead

TIME: 12:00 PT / 15:00 ET / 20:00 BST

The Walking Dead’s baby brother is making its presence known at SDCC 2019. The spin-off has caught the attention of many a main series fan in recent months with the introduction of the staff-wielding Morgan. Actor Lennie James, who plays Morgan, will be at the panel, as will Scott M. Gimple, the head honcho in charge of all of The Walking Dead’s current TV output.

Rick and Morty 

TIME: 13:00 PT / 16:00 ET / 21:00 BST

Let’s get schwifty! Rick and Morty season 4 is dropping later this year and we could very well be getting a quick peek at some footage at SDCC 2019. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland will be in attendance, as will voice actors Sarah Chalke, Spencer Grammer, and Chris Parnell. We've already had a drip-feed of info: Rick and Morty season 4 first images have been unveiled, as has an episode count. Could a release date be next in the lead-up to the panel?

The Walking Dead

TIME: 13:00 PT / 16:00 ET / 21:00 BST

Of course, we can’t forget about The Walking Dead season 10. That’s right, AMC’s smash zombie hit is close to celebrating a decade of death and decapitation, and it’s sure to pull out all the stops at SDCC 2019. While Andrew Lincoln isn’t confirmed (never say never), the likes of Danai Gurira, Death Stranding alumni/Hideo Kojima BFF Norman Reedus, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will all be there. Maybe we’ll get a first look at The Walking Dead movies for good measure.

The Witcher Netflix series

TIME: 14:15 PT / 17:15 ET / 22:15 BST

Fingers crossed for a trailer. There’s been no confirmation yet about who’s showing up for the Witcher Netflix series SDCC 2019 panel, but expect Henry Cavill to be in attendance, as well as showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich. The first Witcher Netflix series images arrived earlier in July – and we've also had our first look at Roach now, too. Keep an eye on the official Netflix Twitter account throughout the panel.

The Boys

TIME: 15:30 PT / 18:30 ET / 23:30 BST

DC and Marvel don't always dominate the conversation when it comes to superheroes. The Boys, which sees suited-up heroes embrace their newfound fame, is an upcoming Amazon series that’s set to be premiere at the end of this month.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

TIME: 15:30 PT / 18:30 ET / 23:30 BST

Netflix isn’t just showing off The Witcher. The Dark Crystal revival is picking up pace and, with a voice cast that features the likes of Lena Headey and Taron Egerton, this is one panel not to be missed.

Game of Thrones

TIME: 17:30 PT / 20:30 ET / 01:30 BST (July 20)

Love it or hate it, Game of Thrones season 8 certainly stirred up some strong opinions. In one final hurrah to SDCC, Westeros’s finest, including Maisie Williams, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Isaac Hempstead-Wright, will take to the stage for what could be a fiery panel. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were originally confirmed but they, along with director Miguel Sapochnik and actors Iain Glen and Nathalie Emmanuel, won't be attending the Game of Thrones panel. However, in their stead, don't be surprised to see a Game of Thrones prequel TV show tease or two from the event or the HBO Twitter account.

SDCC 2019 schedule: Saturday, July 20

Star Trek (TV)

TIME: 11:30 PT / 14:30 ET / 19:30 BST

The Star Trek franchise is about to boldly go where it hasn’t gone before. It has three shows in development or currently ongoing – Star Trek Discovery, the Picard series, and Star Trek: Lower Decks – and it’s going to show them all off at SDCC 2019. Expect fireworks, and maybe a Sir Patrick Stewart zinger or two.

The Good Place

TIME: 12:00 PT / 15:00 ET / 20:00 BST

This is the bad place? Why? The afterlife-themed comedy is ending after its fourth season. Prepare for tears and some holy forking shirt moments galore come Saturday lunchtime.

Westworld

TIME: 13:15 PT / 16:15 ET / 21:15 BST

Robots, bitch! Westworld season 3 not only has Aaron Paul along for the ride (and present at the SDCC 2019 panel) but the mind-melting sci-fi series has plenty of cliffhangers left to deal with. A trailer and a potential release date are both surely on the cards. The official HBO Twitter account should also be refreshed constantly during the event, just in case it springs a surprise reveal on us.

Hideo Kojima panel

TIME: 17:15 PT / 20:15 ET / 01:15 BST (July 21)

This could mean nothing, or it could mean everything. Who knows? After all, it is Kojima. Death Stranding will undoubtedly be a hot topic of discussion but, weirdly, it's on at the same time as Marvel Studios' panel. Typical Koj. Norman Reedus, meanwhile, is in town for presumably his The Walking Dead panel, but he could always turn up here to divulge more about his upcoming role as Sam the Baby Courier (that's his official name now. Honest.)

Marvel Studios

TIME: 17:15 PT / 20:15 ET / 01:15 BST (July 21)

This is it. Marvel Studios is pulling back the curtain on its upcoming slate of movies. Expect Phase 4 announcements, Kevin Feige’s baseball cap, and maybe a few shocks and surprises across the 90-minute event.

Who is missing from SDCC 2019?

There are three notable absentees from SDCC 2019. Sony isn’t there, so don’t expect word on a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, nor the upcoming Uncharted movie. Universal is also taking the year off, though we could probably expect a screeching return when Fast and The Furious 9 lands next year.

Finally, Warner Bros. (and the DCEU) will be missing from SDCC 2019. That hasn’t stopped people from donating to a banner demanding the Snyder Cut being flown over the event, though.

The Marvel SDCC 2019 panel may be tomorrow, but already San Diego Comic-Con goers have been treated to a mountain of Marvel news. First, there were the Avengers: Endgame writers taking to the Hall H stage to discuss their work on the superhero blockbuster. Then, after a quick pause, The Russo Brothers took to the stage, revealing even more information about Endgame and Infinity War, and our Total Film team were on the ground in Hall H to hear it all.

A return to Marvel

Marvel movies and The Russo Brothers go together like Captain American and Mjolnir, so it should come as no surprise to learn that the duo would “love to work” with the superhero studio again. Avengers 5, anyone?

The duo also revealed during the panel that Infinity War was the most stressful movie to direct, while Winter Soldier, their first for the Marvel universe, was the least stressful. 

Coming up with the dust

When working on Infinity War, the “dusting” of half the universe was the hardest effect to conceptualise for the directors. On Endgame, meanwhile, the time portals and Professor Hulk took the longest time to get right.

Secret Wars

One of the biggest and most popular Marvel comics storylines was Secret Wars. However, despite many fans wanting the comic-book arch to come to the big screen with alternate versions of Captain America and Iron Man, Joe Russo said: “No, not possible.” Still, a Secret Wars storyline could happen without them, right?

Questions from the Avengers

Some of the Avengers themselves were on hand (via Skype) to ask some questions to the Russo Brothers. Mark Ruffalo asked whether, now that Bruce Banner has merged with the Hulk, he has become both the smartest and strongest Avenger. The brothers decided not to answer, leaving that to the audience.

Captain America actor Chris Evans asked what did Captain America do after returning the Infinity Stones? “Go to the bathroom,” joked the Russos, before saying that the First Avenger likely tried for a baby with Peggy Carter. Another possibility may have been Cap heading to save Bucky from Hydra.

The brothers also joked about which actors ruined the most takes, revealing that Anthony Mackie and Mark Ruffalo would laugh the most on set. Scarlett Johansson, meanwhile, was the person to nail the most takes in one.

Continuing with the Avengers making guest appearances, Chris Hemsworth asked whether he would make a better leader of the “group prevously known as the Guardians of the Galaxy” and pretends to forget Star Lord's name. Paul Rudd also video-called in to ask, “If you had to rank best America's ass, who would it be?”

With a more serious question was Robert Downey Jr. The Iron Man actor asked what the difference between his iconic “I Am Iron Man” delivery in the first Iron Man, at the press conference, and the same line to Thanos in Endgame. Anthony Russo answered by saying Iron Man was in a completely different place at the end of Endgame, with the genius playboy having gone through a huge story arch and now having a daughter. 

New films

The brothers announced that they are working on a new movie. Titled Cherry, it stars Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, who appeared via a video message and spoke about being excited about working with the duo again. The film will be R-Rated.

They also revealed they are producing a movie adaptation of the comic-book “deep cut” Grim Jack. The eponymous character, who first appeared in the Starslayer comics in 1983, was a favourite of the Russo brothers as they were growing up.

They are also producing, and potentially directing, a version of Battle of the Planets, which itself is an Westernised version of the Japanese anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. If the Russo brothers do direct (they are still unsure), then it will be a live-action adaptation. The original series followed a group of five young orphans, trained from a young age to form an intergalactic team known as G-Force.

They also revealed the logo for their forthcoming Netflix series, and revealed they are producing a new version of the heist film The Thomas Crown Affair with Michael B. Jordan. 

Finally, there's also 21 Bridges, which they are directing. Starring Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, a new trailer for the film was unveiled at the event and has been made available online.

Avengers: Endgame home release

To finish off the panel, the duo played the trailer for the home release of Avengers: Endgame. However, rather than feature too much new footage, the video was instead composed of multiple behind-the-scenes clips.

San Diego Comic Con 2019 kicked off in style with the Terminator: Dark Fate panel in Hall H, and our team were on the ground to report on everything that was said and shown. 

First off, director Tim Miller confirmed that the movie will indeed have an R-Rating, saying: “The DNA of Terminator is an R-rated movie. It would be disingenuous to do so otherwise, it’s what the fans wanted." Linda Hamilton, who plays Sarah Connor, added that her favourite line in the entire series is: "You're terminated, fucker."

Speaking of the Connor family, Miller also revealed that Edward Furlong, who played John Connor in Terminator 2, will be back for the sequel. Seeing as Terminator: Dark Fate will ignore all Terminator films after the first sequel, this makes perfect sense.

New footage from Terminator: Dark Fate also premiered at the Comic Con panel. Darren Scott, the editor of SFX, was at the panel. Here's his description of what happened.

The first thing they showed was a new version of the trailer footage, in which Gabriel Luna's new Terminator, driving a truck, chases Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes's character. Davis throws metal poles at the Terminator, causing him to split into two - one human, one black exo Skelton Terminator with red eyes. It pours out of the other like the Venom Symbiote. 

Davis's truck is smashed off the road by the Terminator, and the two women run, but are cornered by both Terminators 

“When they start to kill me, run” says Davis's blonde haired character Grace. However, a heavy duty vehicle screeches up. Out walks the one and only Sarah Connor, firing a massive  gun at the human Terminator, causing him to fall off the motorway and into the wreckage of the truck. She then turns a rocket launcher on the exo-skeleton, blowing it up. She chucks a grenade into the remains of the truck and tells the two women, “I'll be back.”

Another scene, where Connor introduces herself to the women: “My name is Sarah Connor. August 29th 1997 was supposed to be judgement day. My son and I stopped that. We changed the future. Saved three billion lives. You're welcome. Since then I hunt Terminators. Enough of a resume for you?”

We then hear Connor being asked: “Why do you care what happens to her?” She responds: “Because I was her, and it sucks. When I was about her age, a Terminator was sent to kill me.”

Cut to introduction of Arnie. “So you're Karl?” he's asked, to which the original Terminator, who lives in a lodge in the woods and has dogs now, responds: “That's what everyone calls me, yes”

Sarah responds: “I'm never fucking gonna call you Karl.”

Arnie: “I'm going to help you protect the girl”

Sarah: “When this is all over, I'm going to kill you”

Arnie: “I understand.”

Sarah, to Davis's character: “I've never seen one like you before. Almost human.”

Davis responds: “I am human. Just enhanced.”

Skip to another scene, where the new Terminator wants Davis's blonde bobbed character. He asks Sarah: “Why don't you just let me have her?”

Sarah: “Because we're not machines, you metal mother fucker.”

Another scene, this one in an open aircraft hangar. Arnie stands on the chest of the Terminator and shoots a machine gun repeatedly in his face, blasting off his skin and revealing the Terminator underneath.

When can I watch San Diego Comic Con 2018?

Thursday July 18 is when things kick off properly, starting with a panel on the forthcoming Terminator movie. That’ll be followed by plenty more exciting panels and the rest Comic Con has to offer every day up until Sunday July 21.

How can I watch San Diego Comic Con 2018?

This is a tough one. There aren’t expected to be any official live streams of San Diego Comic Con 2019, with the majority of clips coming after the fact. 

Marvel are likely to debut a few trailers from their upcoming Marvel Phase 4 announcement online following the event on Saturday. And AMC is bound to be showcasing The Walking Dead season 10 online as well.

The best thing you can do is make sure you're tuned into the GamesRadar, Total Film and SFX Twitter feeds. We have journalists on the ground who will be tweeting along with events, and news writers working their hardest to get you the news when it happens.

What can I expect from San Diego Comic Con 2018?

There's going to be a lot of news coming out of San Diego Comic Con, mainly from Marvel's own SDCC panel in Hall H. For an in-depth break down on what to expect head to our San Diego Comic Con 2019 schedule.

Aquaman

There's been good reason to be nervous about Aquaman - previous DCEU movies have received mostly mixed reviews, and the character has historically been treated as something of a joke. Watch this 5-minute(!) trailer and be nervous no more. This looks fun, and the tease at the end (no spoilers!) is worth getting giddy over.

Overlord

We've seen action, we've seen horror, now we see some straight-up desperation in the final trailer for Overlord. There isn't much in here to support those continuing "it's actually a Cloverfield movie" rumors, but it looks like it will be a freaky good time either way.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

This latest trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is so packed with excellent moments it's difficult to pick just one of them out. This is the kind of weird, fun Marvel movie that you can get into even if you have no idea who this "Thanos" person is that everybody keeps talking about.

Mortal Engines

The strange "what if Mad Max but they all drove Howl's Moving Castles" scenario at the heart of Mortal Engines is immediately compelling, and this trailer does a great job selling it. We'll have to wait and see if the movie can deliver on all the strange delights it's promising, but for now let's just enjoy the view.

 Dragon Ball Super: Broly 

Don't let the weird name fool you: Broly isn't merely another story of a bunch of muscle-bound heroes fighting an equally muscular alien. It's also a revised origin story for Goku and Vegeta, casting their beginnings on the Saiyan homeworld in a new and more nuanced light.

TV

Star Trek Discovery season 2

You can take your first look at Star Trek Discovery's young Spock, played by Ethan Peck, in the second season 2 trailer released at New York Comic Con 2018. And not just young Spock, but young Spock with a beard! Yes, really. Other notable appearances include the return of Michael and Spock's mom Amanda Grayson and Mirror Universe Philippa Georgiou.

The Flash season 5

Things get weird (well, weirder) in The Flash season 5, as a girl who claims to be Barry and Iris' daughter from the future arrives in the present. But it looks like not everything is going the way it was supposed to, and getting his kid(?) home while saving the world could be The Flash's biggest challenge yet.

A Discovery of Witches

Demons, vampires, witches - they're all part of our world, according to A Discovery of Witches, and they may not stay hidden much longer. This series coming to Shudder and Sundance Now follows a promising witch as she explores her birthright and begins a forbidden romance with a vampire. Different kinds of monsters aren't supposed to mash, you see. 

Deadly Class

Making it through a high school full of assassins would be hard enough, but when you're the late-enrolling new kid? Woof. You can't argue with a production credit from the Russo Brothers, and it looks like Deadly Class will be a hard-hitting yet stylish new series when it hits Syfy in January.

 Happy season 2

Following a thoroughly unsanctified examination of all things Christmas, Happy season 2 returns to strike fear in the heart of the Easter bunny. This trailer also includes a behind-the-scenes look at all of the depraved souls responsible for bringing you the second part of this sick, strange tale.

Good Omens

An angel and a demon with an unlikely friendship come together once again in this Amazon adaption of the 1990 novel, itself a near-miraculous collaboration between fantasy novelists Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The series looks like it should be one hell of an end-of-the-world party.

The Boys

Sick of the same old big-budget superhero stories? So are The Boys, the group of misfits at the heart of this Amazon series who want to take down the corrupt superhero industry. Not the superhero media industry, actual superheroes who misuse their powers for their own fame, fortune, and the profits of a monopolistic management firm. Sounds like a fun subversion of the usual super-drama.

Tell Me a Story

This CBS All Access (that's CBS' video streaming app, also the home of Star Trek: Discovery in the US) retells a trio of fairy tales as psychological thrillers in modern day New York City. You'll never think of The Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel the same way again.

Daredevil season 3

Matt Murdoch's in a very dark place at the start of Daredevil season 3, and it looks like it's only going to get worse. With Wilson Fisk out of jail and another masked vigilante wrecking his image, things are looking grim for the third season of Netflix's original Marvel superhero show. And if you want to see more about that guy who definitely isn't Daredevil, check out this bonus intro to Agent Poindexter, AKA Bullseye.

 Titans

See how Robin, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy come together the form the Titans in this trailer for the upcoming DC Universe series. No sign of Cyborg so far, but I guess he skipped the teen stuff and went straight to Justice League. 

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Delivering fully on the "this ain't your witchy '90s sitcom" vibe established by the first teaser, this full-length trailer for Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is half teenage drama and half otherworldly horror. If you thought your high school years were rough, try doing it while you're stuck halfway between the mortal world and the supernatural.

Harley Quinn

It's tough to say what the full animated Harley Quinn series will be like from this sub-minute teaser, but Poison Ivy is basically a green-skinned fusion of Daria and her best friend Jane Lane, so that's already a great first step. And that logo is pretty nice.

 She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 

This extensive look at the new She-Ra proves it's an all-new take on the '80s cartoon icon, including the fact that Adora is a bad guy! Well, she works for the bad guys, anyway, but that changes pretty fast after she finds a magic sword in the forest. The vibrant character designs look halfway between '80s Saturday Morning and Steven Universe, and it's working for me.

Nightflyers

If you're still mad about Syfy canceling The Expanse, Nightflyers... well, it also takes place in space. But it looks like it will be much more of a claustrophobic, psychological thriller than The Expanse's ground-level space opera. Still, you can't argue with a writing credit from George R.R. Martin.

After a narratively and technically impressive first season, American Gods' sophomore set has a lot of work to do. It starts in earnest with this trailer - with all these gods brought together, what comes next?

Siren season 2

Turns out angering an entire community of fish people isn't a great idea when you live in a coastal town. The second season of Siren will focus on the escalating conflict between humans and merfolk… and also between merfolk and merfolk. Which involves a lot of hissing.

Voltron Legendary Defender season 8

This new teaser for the Voltron reboot's final series doesn't have much actual new footage to show us, but it definitely sets the stage for some climactic action. Sometimes you just have to Form Blazing Sword, you know?

 Origin

This sci-fi new series coming to YouTube Premium follows a motley assortment of people who try to leave their Earth lives behind, only to find themselves stranded and alone on their massive colony ship. Unfortunately for them, they might not be as alone as they think they are. 

The Magicians season 4

Margo returns, but not as you know her, in this full scene trailer from The Magicians fourth season. It's a decent onboarding point for new viewers, too, since you can probably sympathize with her confusion about why a goat man with a bunch of kittens is warning her about some terrible fate she's never heard of.

Stan Against Evil season 3 

The gruesome horror comedy continues with more demon summoning, ape fighting, puppet headshotting fun. The third season premieres, appropriately enough, on the day of Halloween. 

New York Comic Con is well underway, giving fans access to four days of non-stop entertainment heaven. When is New York Comic Con 2018

New York Comic Con 2018 kicked off on Thursday, October 4, 2018 with a keynote speech from author and comic writer author Marjorie Liu. It's set to continue with four days of panels, events, and appearances. NYCC 2018 ends on October 7, 2018. To plan ahead, here’s the full NYCC 2018 panel schedule.

Where is New York Comic Con 2018?

No, this isn’t a trick question. Well, duh, it’s in New York – but it’s actually spread out across a few venues. The convention itself can be found at the Javits Center, but there’s also panels and events taking place at Madison Square Garden and the Hammerstein Ballroom to account for. So, if you’re planning on going, be warned that you may have to do some travelling.

How to watch New York Comic Con 2018

This year, your best bet is to get hooked up to the SyFy Wire stream. Their NYCC 2018 streams cover a wide range of events and panels, from a talk with The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, a chinwag about the Watchmen TV show with one of the comic’s co-creators, and there’s even the likes of a big Hellboy reveal on the Saturday.

Elsewhere, Marvel will have a streaming presence with its Marvel Live show that’ll run throughout the entirety of the four-day event.

Don’t forget to be glued to the likes of the Daredevil Twitter account, too. Official social media channels are likely to be a goldmine throughout the week. My advice? Bookmark The Walking Dead Twitter account, as well as the Doctor Who Twitter page, and the Star Trek Discovery Twitter feed.

Aquaman

At long last, we’ve finally got our first proper glimpse at James Wan’s Aquaman and boy it does not disappoint. Taking us back to Arthur Curry as a youngster to the moment he realises what he’s destined for, this looks like the movie that could put the DC Extended Universe back on the map.

Shazam!

Finally, a touch of genuine humour appears to be taking place in Warner Bros’ DC universe. Our first look at Shazam! highlights the film’s amusing Big-esque premise, as the young Billy Batson figures out how to transform from his typical teenage self into the spandexed adult superhero, played by Zachary Levi.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

In case the 2014 Godzilla didn’t quite make this point, Charles Dance does in the first trailer for its sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. This scaly beast is the KING. But if he’s the king, what the hell are the rest of the beasts he’s destined to tussle with? To be honest, that doesn’t even seem to be the biggest question I have after watching this trailer. That would be: err, so the world’s survival depends on scheduling a kaiju playdate?

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald  may sound like some *epic* Potter fanfic, but it’s actually the sequel to last year’s spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This deep dive trailer gives us a glimpse at what’s next for Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander in the Wizarding World. As expected we’re shown a smattering of flashback scenes signaling the young Newt’s first dalliances with magic and Jude Law as the very dapper and youthful Albus Dumbledore.

Glass

The first trailer for Glass shows Split's Kevin Wendell Crumb and Unbreakable's David Dunn and Mr Glass being questioned by psychiatrist Dr Ellie Staple (played by Sarah Paulson), who considers them to be delusional. Prepare for the return of The Beast, and to see how Dunn's super powers help when he has to take him on. "A lot of people are going to die," says Mr Glass, ominously. "Are you ready?"

The Walking Dead

Even long time viewers weren't too excited about The Walking Dead season 9 after last season... that is until it dropped one hell of a Comic Con trailer! With the war now (mostly) behind them, Rick and co. seem to thriving and building a new world... until some sort of civil war kicks off between the different settlements. Oh, and did you notice the tease for the season's 'big baddies' The Whisperers at the end?

Star Trek Discovery

Star Trek Discovery season 1 was a wild ride, boldly going where the franchise had never gone before, and season 2 looks to continue that streak with a flashy and exciting Comic Con trailer. As well as teasing the main plot for season 2 - what are those signals about? - it looks like the second season will bring in some familiar Star Trek faces, including the one and only Spock. After years of silence and a vague not-quite-cliffhanger ending to season 6, it looks like the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series will get a proper send-off after all. This surprise Comic Con trailer gives fan a tease of what's in store: epic-scale battles, clone trooper squad drama, and the return of Ahsoka Tano, apprentice to Anakin Skywalker.

We've waited a long time to get our first proper look at the new Doctor and while this teaser may be short, it's definitely maintained our hype levels as Jodie Whittaker's Doctor asks Graham, Ryan, and Yasmin to be her new BFFs. Awwww. The teaser promises "new faces, new worlds, new times" and features some pretty beautiful landscapes in its 40 seconds as well.

Fear the Walking Dead

As well as a trailer for the new season of The Walking Dead we also got a Comic Con trailer for Fear the Walking Dead season 4, which seems to be teasing some sort of extreme weather! Plus, check out The Walking Dead crossover character Morgan who puts in a significant appereance in this teaser too.

Iron Fist

Despite Iron Fist season 1 getting... 'mixed' reviews, season 2 is well on its way and the first trailer has been released at Comic Con. It seems to be teasing a distinctly darker Danny Rand, which might imply that the show is heading in a different direction this time around, but either way Iron Fist will be back kicking ass soon. 

Better Call Saul

Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul will soon return for its fourth season and fans of the original show will spot a reference to a character from the series in the Comic Con trailer above. Tony Dalton will play Lalo, a character referenced in season 2 of Breaking Bad, but unseen until now.

Nightflyers

Game of Thrones fans, get ready to fall in love with another George R. R. Martin TV show! Nightflyers - based on the author's other book - debuted its first trailer at SDCC and it teases an intense series, which appears to mix sci-fi and horror in a similar way to the original Alien movie.

Good Omens

Less of a trailer and more of a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the making of new Amazon Prime Original Good Omens, the above Comic Con teaser shows us just how much has gone into adapting the book of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. With the interviews with some of the cast, including David Tennant and Michael Sheen, it appears to be an incredible elaborate TV show. 

Disenchantment

Here we get our first look at the new series from The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening. Disenchantment looks to be continuing Groening’s love of jet black comedy, this time set in a Medieval world where we meet Bean, a princess desperate to take control of her life, and Elfo, an elf eager for bigger and better things, and Luci, who’s a demonic sprite. All in all, it’s a promising tease for what could be your new favourite show, that’s set to debut on Netflix next month.

The Purge

We've just had the most recent Purge movie, but The Purge TV show is coming very soon as well and we got out first look thanks to the above Comic Con trailer. It seems to have captured the gory terror of the movie franchise, but time will tell if the series can maintain that level of fear over multiple episodes. 

Preacher

If you’ve been keeping up with AMC’s other bonkers comic book adaptation, you’ll be excited to see the trailer for what remains of Preacher season 3. It appears to be continuing down its path of insanity, as the tale of Jesse Custer, a drunken, chain-smoking preacher, gets all the more irreverent when the Allfather makes an appearance.

Arrow

Sometimes it can take a while for a comic book show to really pay homage to its roots. For fans of Arrow, one of those elements is coming to the small screen. Well, I say elements, when what I really mean is: Oliver Queen’s comic beard will at last make an appearance in Arrow season 7. Oliver’s stint in SuperMax will at last see the do-gooder don his iconic goatee… 

Supergirl

With the season 3 finale dropping somewhat of a big reveal, we’ve now got a glimpse at Supergirl season 4 in the first-look trailer that dropped during the show’s panel. And, while a majority of the footage is recycled from old seasons, we get a look at Kara wearing a new armored suit toward the end. 

The Flash

The Flash is about to get every weirder than usual as the Comic Con trailer for the new season reveals how Barry and Iris' handle their daughter's arrival from the future. It also give us a sneak peek at the upcoming season's new big bad, Cicada and he does not look like someone to mess with.

The Orville

Wearing its genre stripes proudly, Seth McFarlane’s comedy that doesn’t involve satirical animations is an absolute blast that’s somehow not yet hit the mainstream. Hopefully things will change for The Orville in season 2, as its latest trailer hints at more sci-fi homage excellence to come. We’ll find out when it debuts December 30, 2018.

Legends of Tomorrow 

The CW has dropped the trailer for season 4 for Legends of Tomorrow, which looks to be picking up where season 3 left off. With the Legends having allowed for time to crumble, the boundaries and barriers between worlds weakened, letting a whole new glut of baddies into the fray - namely? The Fugitives. Sadly nothing to do with Harrison Ford, this is a catch-all term for creatures from myths and legends. 

The Man in the High Castle

It feels like an age since Amazon dropped its last season of The Man in the High Castle. Lucky for us, season 3 will land in its entirety on October 5, but until then this Comic Con teaser which dropped today ought to tide you over. Judging by what the cast had to say at the panel, it’s going to be a compelling season, as characters discover “the anomaly” a bridge between parallel universes. And that’s not all: they’ll be trying to access it, and, along the way meet other versions of themselves. Yes, you should start watching the earlier seasons now. 

The Tick

Also, not really a trailer is this exclusive set tour of Amazon Prime Original The Tick, BUT it does show us some things from the upcoming second season, which we haven't seen before, so it's worth taking a look. Notice at the end of the Comic Con sneak peek the offices of new character Tyrannosaurus Rathbone?

Titans

The first trailer for DC's live-action take on the Teen Titans (simply dubbed "Titans") is pretty... well, grim. It's certainly a far step from more kid-friendly previous incarnations such as the 2003 animated series or the still-running spin-off, Teen Titans GO! About the only thing that's colorful here is the language, as Robin growls "fuck Batman" after murdering a group of thugs.

Young Justice: Outsiders

As well as the first Titans trailer, DC also gave us an extended Comic Con trailer for the third season of the animated Young Justice: Outsiders, which you can check out above. It teases a new challenge for the superheroes as they once again band together to protect the Earth from a deadly threat. 

Mayans M.C.

Sons of Anarchy fans rejoice - the first trailer for spin-off series Mayans M.C. is here! As you can tell from the name, it focuses on another biker gang called the Mayans who were the sometimes rivals, sometimes partners of the Sons of Anarchy. The trailer teases everything we love about SoA and more, and with a Comic Con panel planned for Sunday, fans can expect more juicy details soon.

Stan Against Evil

Prepare for a return to the distinctly cursed town of Willard’s Mill, where you’re more likely to encounter a demon, zombie or vampire than another human! Season 3 is gearing up to drop later this year, and by the looks of its teaser trailer, we’re getting more horror comedy gold in that batch of eight episodes. 

Invader Zim

There's no date attached to Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, a TV movie continuation/possible conclusion to the cult classic Nickelodeon series, but if this trailer is anything to go by, expect lots of the same strange, gross humor that made it a hit. Now if only we could hear any of these beloved characters speak again...

Homecoming

The new Amazon Original series starring Julia Roberts, Homecoming is "mind-bending psychological thriller", which sees Roberts' caseworker try and help soldiers transition back into civilian life. It's Comic Con trailer is little more than a teaser for the new series, but it's enough to pique our interest.

Gifted

The Saturday afternoon Fox panel saw the latest trailer drop for the mutant series. The Gifted season 2 looks set to continue expanding the world established in its debut season, except this time we’ve got a glimpse at some new threats for those who haven’t succumbed to the allure of the Hellfire Club. As well as the Sentinel Services, we’ve got Morlocks on the horizon...

Roswell, New Mexico

In addition to that Buffy reboot, we’re also getting a return to another ‘90s supernatural-tinged show. Granted, this return to Roswell isn’t going to include the same characters as before, instead opting for a fresh slate to tell a new tale of extraterrestrial drama. 

Deadly Class

New Syfy series Deadly Class is based on the best-selling graphic novel centred around a school for trouble youths, which trains them to become the next generation in deadly assassins. Yes, really - check out the Comic Con trailer above. Starring Doctor Strange's Benedict Wong and a whole host of exciting newcomers, this could be your new TV obsession.

Lore

Lore is the Amazon Prime Original based on the podcast of the same name, which explores the real life tales that give rise to modern-day myths and legends. The short Comic Con trailer for season 2 promises even more gruesome and disturbing stories as it features new narratives from the podcast, as well as some which haven't appeared in podcast form yet.  

Origin

This YouTube Original series stars Harry Potter's Tom Felton and Game of Thrones' Natalia Tena and is part-sci-fi part-thriller as a group of outsiders finds themselves abandoned on a spaceship heading to a distant planet. They must rely on each for survival but - surprise, surprise - not everyone is who they say they are. 

Games

Marvel's Spider-Man

We've seen plenty of gameplay for Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man PS4 game since it was first announced in 2016, but this new Comic Con trailer finally gives us a good look at what to expect from the story, which involves Peter Parker going up against the likes of Rhino, Norman Osborne, and Silver Sable(!).

Unless you've been living under a rock for last couple of days, you'll have seen the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's Glass (above), which was released at San Diego Comic Con 2018. 

The third movie in a surprise trilogy, which started with 2000's Unbreakable and continued with Split in 2006, Glass sees Samuel L. Jackson’s Mr Glass, Bruce Willis’ David Dunn, and James McAvoy’s The Horde collide in a psychiatric unit run by new character Dr. Ellie Staple, played by Sarah Paulson.

The trailer itself is one of the best released during Comic Con so far, and is a real treat for fans of either Unbreakable or Split, but there's probably more connections between the two movies in the teaser than you first noticed. It goes without saying that Shyamalan has been thinking about this trilogy for a while and a lot of the references and connections are so subtle, there's no way you'd realise what you were seeing unless someone pointed it out to you.

Luckily for us, YouTuber Flicks and the City has put together an impressive analysis of the Glass trailer, which breaks down every obscure reference and cool nod for your viewing pleasure. I enjoyed it so much, I had to share it with you, so scroll down and discover all the Split and Unbreakable references (and everything else you missed) in the first Glass trailer: 

Pretty impressive, right? It just shows how much work has gone into this film already and I can't wait to see the finished project.

San Diego Comic Con is the biggest pop-culture extravaganza on the planet and this year will be no different. But, unless you’ve shelled out a few hundred bucks (and in some cases, flown halfway across the planet) to be there, there’s a good chance you’re going to miss out on the best bits of each panel, booth, and special appearance Comic Con has to offer. That’s where we come in. Here’s our guide on how to watch San Diego Comic Con 2018 from the comfort of your own home.

First, a word of caution: a lot of the exclusive panels, including the iconic Hall H, aren't filmed live and while the panels usually end up on YouTube a few days later, it's incredibly hard to watch them as it's all happening as Comic Con wants to ensure the exclusively of its event. As such, it's hard to pin down exactly where and when you can watch every event – but we’ll do our best to help you avoid the FOMO. And don't worry if you're busy/asleep while everything is going on as GR will be reporting on any and all of the big news, footage, and reveals coming out of Comic Con, so you won't miss a thing. 

When can I watch San Diego Comic Con 2018?

Wednesday July 18 is San Diego Comic Con 2018’s Preview Night, but the action properly kicks off on Thursday July 19 with 20th Century Fox’s panel on upcoming movie The Predator. That’ll be followed by plenty more exciting panels and the rest Comic Con has to offer every day up until Sunday July 22.

How can I watch San Diego Comic Con 2018?

This is a tough one. There aren’t expected to be any official live streams of San Diego Comic Con 2018, with the majority of clips coming after the fact. Expect the BBC’s Doctor Who YouTube page to carry some of what will be Jodie Whittaker’s first public outing as the Time Lord, for example.

In addition to that, Ryan Reynolds’ Twitter account could be a gold mine as he’s around this weekend to showcase the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut. 

Marvel, if they follow last year’s showing, could also be streaming a bunch of cool SDCC stuff on their Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel. And AMC is bound to be showcasing The Walking Dead season 9 across its Twitter and YouTube channels as well.

Your best bet, however, is to take stock of the full SDCC 2018 schedule and plan accordingly. Expect journalists and other attendees - including our own - to break news as and when it happens, so stay tuned to social media for any and all trailer releases and big breaking news.

What can I expect from San Diego Comic Con 2018?

This year, it’s more about what not to expect. Marvel Studios and HBO are giving it a miss, so don’t expect any Game of Thrones season 8, Westworld season 3, Avengers 4 or anything else on any other new Marvel movies. Instead, we’re getting the likes of a big Warner Bros. panel featuring Aquaman, Wonder Woman 2, and more, a huge Doctor Who debut, Halloween and Glass reveals, a Marvel Games panel, and the traditional The Walking Dead panel. San Diego Comic Con always brings the goods. Case in point: Marvel has unveiled an utterly incredible Avengers: Infinity War poster that has to be seen to be believed. Seriously. It’ll be a mainstay of many an MCU fans’ wall for years to come, I’m sure of it.

Let’s take a look at it, shall we? You’d best start preparing yourself, it’s a beaut.

With Thanos looming large in the background, it’s the best of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that take centre stage this time. Thor is all revved up and in God of Thunder mode; Cap is all fired up and ready to go and, in the middle of it all is the guy who kicked everything off: Iron Man. 

Created by artist Matt Taylor, this really does feel like not only the endgame of the MCU, but the endgame of all MCU posters. He’s knocked it out of the park. I’m not normally one to gush about posters, but I’m already mentally framing it in my mind as we speak.

There’s a sepia-tinted version of the poster, as well as a more striking red variant. The latter will set you back $80 at the event (booth #435) with only 325 available upon doors opening to the public on Sunday. You’d best be quick!

The more colourful copy is going to be available from MondoTees.com for a limited-time only: Sunday 11:30am Central (9:30am PDT/12:30pm EDT/17:30pm BST) until Thursday at noon Central (10:00am PDT/1:00pm EDT/6:00pm BST) should you want to pick that up. It’s only $60 too.

If you were to conjure the most powerful pop-culture chimera possible, it would have the head of Game of Thrones and the body of Star Wars. That's probably what Disney and Lucasfilm had in mind when they recruited David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, co-creators of the Game of Thrones TV show, to write and produce a new series of Star Wars films. Welcome to the sci-fi/fantasy singularity.

"In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we've been dreaming of it ever since," Benioff and Weiss said in a joint statement on StarWars.com. "We are honored by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of Game of Thrones is complete."

Going from regular swords to laser swords is clearly an upgrade, though it sounds like the pair won't do much more work on their Star Wars project until they complete their Westerosi tale with Game of Thrones season 8 first. Can't stop them from making 'vwoom vwoom' noises under their breath while filming fight scenes, though.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi spoiler-free review

Disney confirmed in the same announcement that the new film series will be separate from the Skywalker Saga (i.e., the numbered episodes) and the recently announced trilogy helmed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson. So even if you're not a Thrones fan, you can take away from this announcement the fact that Disney is already making arrangements for at least five more unannounced Star Wars films beyond the Han Solo movie and Star Wars 9.

Add in another if you count the much-rumored Obi-Wan movie, which may be directed and written by Billy Elliot's Stephen Daldry, not to mention the many more nebulous concepts that have flitted in and out of focus since Disney purchased the rights to the galaxy far, far away. Tl;dr: It's gonna be a whole lot of Star Wars.

New York Comic Con 2017 might be over, but we still have the trailers to remember it by. We know you're busy though so if you spent the weekend going out and having a life you might have missed some. Don't despair though because you can catch up now with our round up. From the first Pacific Rim Uprising trailer to the latest Justice League look, you can find every trailer, teasers, and clip released at NYCC below. You're welcome.

Justice League

The Justice League are back in action in the latest trailer for the superhero team-up and you can feel Joss Whedon's influence. Superman makes an appearance (although only in Lois's dreams) and the rest of the crew are wise-cracking and fist-pumping throughout.

The Walking Dead season 8

The Walking Dead revealed a scene from season 8 at NYCC and keen fans will notice that it mirrors the series' first episode where Rick is walking discovering what's happened around after waking up from his coma. 

Pacific Rim Uprising

John Boyega stars as Jake Pentacost, son of Stacker Pentacost from the first film (and made exceptionally cool by Idris Elba). The Jaegers are sweet, the Kaiju are mean, the fights are gargantuan. It looks like everything you'd want in a sequel.

The X-Files season 11

This two-minute trailer for the new season of The X-Files will give you goosebumps as Mulder and Scully return to save the world. 

Replicas

Keanu Reeves’ turned up at NYCC to reveal the first trailer for his upcoming sci-fi thriller Replicas. With a distinctly Blade Runner feel to it and co-starring Star Trek's Alice Eve this could be one to watch for hardcore sci-fi fans. 

Castle Rock season 1

Hulu's new series Castle Rock got its own NYCC debut with the above trailer and although it doesn't give much away it teases its Stephen King influences with a shot of the Shawshank prison logo. 

Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams season 1

New sci-fi anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams is already showing in the UK - you lucky things - but Amazon has grabbed the rights for the US. The ten standalone episodes don't have a stateside release date yet, but you can watch the trailer above. 

Marvel's Runaways season 1

The latest show pony from the Marvel stable has a fun twist - it focuses on the children of supervillains. The gang of parentally-disadvantaged teens includes a witchy goth, a lacrosse player, and a model and their shady parents are part of a group called The Pride. Even better, Spike from Buffy himself plays Victor Stein, one of the bad dads. The show will air on Hulu from November 21.

Future Man season 1

The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson is back in this new Hulu show, which sees him recruited to save the world by characters from his favourite video game. 

The Man in the High Castle season 3

Another first look from Amazon Prime comes with this clip for The Man in the High Castle season 3. Featuring Rufus Sewell’s John Smith, it teases what we can expect from the third season of the alternative world series. 

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season 1

If you haven't had enough of the Jack Ryan movies, Amazon Prime is bringing you a TV adaptation starring John Krasinski in 2018. 

Shut Eye season 2

Hulu continues its NYCC reveals with a teaser for the second season of Shut Eye. 

The Tick season 1

The Tick is already here but that didn't stop Amazon Prime from releasing a trailer for the season part of the first season at Comic Con. 

So good they named it once. New York Comic Con 2017 starts today and we're bringing you everything that's happening in the Big Apple, from panel schedules to what exclusives you can pick up on the show floor. Thankfully, there's something for everyone across all four days, so let's break down the highlights and choicest cuts bit by bit - including times for both the East Coast and those across the pond in the UK.

Thursday (October 5, 2017)

Michael Rooker Spotlight: 2:30-3:30pm EST/7:30-8:30 BST (Main Stage 1-D)

Fresh from his turn as Mary Poppins/Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, as well as having spent a considerable time as the redneck you'd love to punch, Merle Dixon, on The Walking Dead, Rooker is bound to have amusing anecdotes a-plenty and a few juicy behind-the-scenes tidbits to share.

American Gods: 6-7pm EST/11pm-midnight BST (Main Stage 1-D)

There are already so many questions swirling after that American Gods season finale - and this panel will be the place where (hopefully) some of those questions get answered. Three of the cast, Ricky Whittle, Yetide Badaki, and Pablo Schrieber will be at the panel, as well as appearing across all four days of the convention.

Friday (October 8, 2017)

Peter Capaldi Spotlight: 11am-12pm EST/4pm-5pm BST (Main Stage 1-D)

The news that Peter Capaldi would be leaving Doctor Who after the Christmas special is bound to be high on the agenda during his panel. Will he give us a brief hint at what's to come - and could the first female Doctor Jodie Whittaker pop by?

Pacific Rim Uprising: 12pm-1pm EST/5pm-6pm BST (The Theater at Madison Square Garden)

Immediately after Peter Capaldi's panel comes the first marquee panel of NYCC 2017 from Madison Square Garden. It's sure to be a wild ride as lots of the Pacific Rim sequel has been kept under-wraps until now. Expect a clip or two and John Boyega to also grace us with his presence. Are we ok to ask about Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

Saturday (October 9, 2017)

Star Trek: Discovery: 3:45-4:45pm EST/8:45-9:45pm BST (The Theater at Madison Square Garden)

If an hour of laser-focused discussion and reveals surrounding Star Trek: Discovery sounds like your thing then Madison Square Garden is the place to be on the Saturday. Promising to be chock-full of appearances from cast, as well as executives behind the show, this is one panel not to be missed.

Due to the tragic shootings in Las Vegas, The Punisher have cancelled their NYCC panel.

The Walking Dead season 8 brings Rick and the gang on the cusp of all-out war with Negan and his set of Saviours. Here's hoping Saturday evening's panel will shed some light on what's to come, and just what the deal is with Old Man Rick. The cast, including Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Norman Reedus, and the brains (mmm, brains) behind the operation will converge to discuss all things Walking Dead for, probably, the event's most interesting hour.

Sunday (October 10, 2017)

The X-Files: 1-2pm EST/6-7pm BST (Main Stage 1-D)

The truth is out there, and so is this panel discussing the upcoming second season of the X-Files revival. Mulder and Scully will both be there (let's face it, Gillian Anderson is worth the price of admission alone) to discuss the exclusive first-look at the new ten-episode run premiering in January.

Will there be other New York Comic Con guests?

The full list of guest attendees - and trust me, there are a lot of them - can be found here on the NYCC 2017 website, but below are the best of the bunch.

NYCC always features a who's who of stars from the silver screen and TV - and this year is no different. Mark Hamill will be at the convention across all four days; Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie are scheduled to make appearances on both Thursday and Friday, as is Star Wars: Rogue One's Felicity Jones on the Friday in the official autographing area.

Talking of the NYCC Autographing Area, Guardians of the Galaxy's Karen Gillan will be there across Saturday and Sunday, Michael Rooker on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and also Luke Cage's Theo Rossi (who may or may not be wearing shades) will be signing across Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, Game of Thrones' Lena Headey was scheduled to be at the event but will no longer appear. Sob. Ruling Westeros must be keeping her busy. 

What New York Comic Con exclusives will there be?

It's not Comic Con without a few convention exclusives to make the toil and sweat (oh god, the sweat!) worth it. Let's start with what I know you all want… the New York Comic Con exclusive Funko Pop figures.

Comic Cons and Marvel go hand-in-hand so it's not surprising to see exclusive Marvel Pops, uhh, pop up. If you're at NYCC you have a chance to get Thor: Ragnarok's casual Hulk, Grandmaster and also James Gunn. How's that for exclusive?

Be sure to also be on the hunt for Game of Thrones' exclusive Pops, especially as one of them is Jaqen, the Faceless Man. If sass is more your thing, there's always Lyanna Mormont.

San Diego Comic Con is here and it's time to get ready for all the big news and reveals. You won't have to look far to find them - just keep reading for a quick primer on when and where to catch all the biggest SDCC events.

When is San Diego Comic Con?

SDCC is held in late July every year at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. For 2017, the convention will be open from Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23, though there was already a press/industry/VIP-exclusive "Preview Night" on Wednesday. 

How can I watch all the San Diego Comic Con panels and events?

There isn't one central stream for all of the events (there's way too much going on for that), but Marvel fans can start with this official stream:

And Twitter is teaming up with IGN for a live stream that will cover another good chunk of the convention's events. Not sure what to keep an eye out for?

When should I watch San Diego Comic Con?

There will be interesting stuff going on at all times, but here's a selection of some of the biggest panels to keep an eye out for. All these times are listed in PDT, so just add 8 hours if you're in the UK. You can also head over to the official SDCC site and have a look through the full schedule of convention programming.

Friday

AMC's The Walking Dead starting at 12:15 pm, with some hints for season 8.

Game of Thrones Panel and Q&A starting at 1:30 pm, which should have some nice teasers for the show's last two seasons.

The Defenders panel with the cast at 5:15 pm, including an exclusive first look at the team-up series.

Saturday

WB films, including Blade Runner 2049 and Justice League with exclusive footage starting at 11:30 am.

Stranger Things panel on Saturday at 3 pm in Hall H, including exclusive footage of season 2.

Westworld panel and Q&A at 4:15 with a big chunk of the cast and hopefully some season 2 teases.

Marvel Studios panel at 5:30, where president Kevin Feige will offer a new look into the MCU.

How can I keep up to date with San Diego Comic Con news?

So glad you asked! GamesRadar+ will be bringing you all the biggest news from SDCC as it happens. While you wait for things to kick off, why not check out everything we want to see at SDCC 2017?

E3 is always swamped in rumour, but Bethesda's Starfield is potentially the most interesting one right now. The elevator pitch is 'Elder Scrolls in space.' Let that sink in for a while.

Now, specific game info is largely internet gossip currently - ‘my uncle works at Nintendo’ level of stuf - but there’s some history behind both the name and idea - Bethesda filed a trademark for the name years ago and renewed it this year, for example. And there at least some vague industry whispers that it might actually be a thing that exists.  

What is Bethesda’s Starfield about?

There are a few posts that outline the broad concept: a huge open world sci-fi RPG built in a partially procedurally generated environment. Unlike something like No Man’s Sky, this is reported to use random generation for larger spaces, terrain and some buildings, within which handcrafted locations and quests will be place. (Bethesda used a similar idea in The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, one of the largest game maps ever created).

It sounds like the system will create a mix of created and randomly generated missions and situations. There will be some quests that everyone sees, while some players might find a small war erupting that only they see because of the placement of factions within their world. 

If the information is correct you won’t have a space ship either. Instead you’ll control a huge station that you populate and expand as you play. You’re free to explore, as NPCs docks ships and planets and other stations contact you for help. You’re can explore the base and hire people, or they can come and live aboard. One reference thrown around was Deep Space Nine. 

What proof is there Bethesda are making Starfield?

Bethesda trademarked the name in 2013 and renewed the filing this year, with February currently the most recent date. Interestingly, even further back in 2010 Bethesda pitched a huge licensed Star Trek game, with Todd Howard saying at the time, “I want the big Star Trek RPG that you go out and explore the universe”. Nothing ever came from that but it’s easy to see how it might have planted the seed of an idea. 

Supposedly, the game’s been in development since Fallout 3’s release, with a mix of Id Tech rendering and Bethesda’s Creation Engine NPC and quest tools. In March of last year Bethesda were hiring for a "bleeding-edge RPG" that the listings claimed would be "different to anything" it's done before.

Will Starfield be at E3?

That’s... kind of the point here. The name exists and belongs to ZeniMax Media, Bethesda’s parent company. The details are unsubstantiated but there are faint industry rumblings that it's a thing and could be unveiled at E3. 

It’s something Elder Scrolls fans certainly want to be true. This guy, for example, certainly thinks he's cracked a code hidden in Bethesda's official E3 art: 

See! It's all so clear now. 

Although I think we can probably throw this 'leak' in the bin...

What with it being, A) terrible, and, B) an entirely different game - specifically 2009's Shattered Horizon.

Underworld: Blood Wars

You can watch the first trailer for Underworld 5 (aka Underworld: Blood Wars) here, but while that was more of a recap of what’s happened before, the second trailer released at NYCC hints at what’s to come. It’s revealed that Selene’s daughter is the one who’s being hunted this time and that Selene herself doesn’t even know where she is. Can she find her and protect her in time?

The Walking Dead - season 7

The Walking Dead didn’t reveal a trailer at NYCC, but rather than miss out on the fun completely, AMC released a scene from the upcoming season 7 and boy, is it a doozy. It appears to be from the new season after Negan has killed… whoever he’s going to kill, and he's taunting Rick. Yes, that’s right, it appears Rick will not be the one beaten to death by Lucille.

War for the Planet of the Apes

This is more of a motion poster than a trailer, but it is the first piece of promo we've got for the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes. It's very artsy and appears to feature Caesar speaking (yes, the apes are finally going to talk!) to someone (possibly his human friend) saying: "You must go before fighting begins. I’m sorry, war has begun."

Marvel's Iron Fist - season 1

The NYCC trailer for Marvel’s Iron Fist isn’t our first look at the newest Defender, but it is the first time we’re seeing him in any detail. It shows a bearded Finn Jones taking names and kicking ass as Netflix’s latest hero Danny Rand. Check our exclusive first look at the main himself in action here. 

John Wick: Chapter Two

Again, we’ve already had a teaser for John Wick: Chapter Two, but it didn't really give much away. Not that this trailer does… It mainly seems to hint at Wick’s fashion choices (two buttons and tactical) and holiday preferences (Rome and partying). It does have a hefty amount of action in it though which will make many a fan squeal with glee. 

Power Rangers

The first trailer for the Power Rangers movie was released at NYCC and it got everyone pretty excited. It does a good job of setting up the angsty teenagers who will eventually become Rangers and ended with a spine-chilling message from Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa: “I’ve killed Rangers before.” Check out a new still from the movie, plus character posters, here.  

The Great Wall

Following on from the first trailer, Matt Damon's The Great Wall released a second sneak peek at NYCC and it reveals more of the battle ahead. I wouldn't want to be the one facing these monsters, ponytail or no ponytail. 

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

The second trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter does give us a little more than the first. Alice actually speaks in this one, although it is only to call someone (or something?) an arsehole, which… I’m ok with to be honest. 

Class - season 1

Not satisfied with one trailer, Doctor Who spin-off TV show, Class, released two trailers at NYCC. One is more of a teaser and features the Doctor explaining that he can’t always be there to protect us. The other stars the actual cast of Class who are in “terrible danger” thanks to a crack in time located in their school.

With 14,113 games (approximate number) on show to 32 gazillion people (approximate number) during E3 week, getting your PS4 FPS/3DS puzzler/iOS groundhog hibernation sim noticed can be downright impossible. And so many a dev adopts an approach which is peculiar, but understandable: giving their game a moniker which doesn’t necessarily make sense but at least makes it stand out from the crowd – like a blue Smartie, or Game Of Thrones character introduced at the start of an episode who isn’t dead by its end. This year's big show in LA was no exception. To that end, here are the top ten so-cringeworthy-we-kind-of-admire-them game names present during E3 week.

Mr Shifty
75 levels of heists, rescue missions, boss battles, and brawls, using a character that sounds cut and pasted from a sketch show. A rejected, they-only-made-one-episode-and-it-was-so-bad-MTV-burned-the-tapes sketch show. Doesn’t scream million-seller, does it? 

Strength Of The Sword: ULTIMATE
You wouldn’t buy a game that promised to empower you with an average-strength blade. You wouldn’t buy a game that guaranteed a blade as strong as the strongest of Trebor Mints, even. But ULTIMATE strength? In CAPITALS? Alright, you still probably won’t buy that, but you can’t pretend it didn’t make you look. 

Mad Bullets
A Wild West PC shooter from Istom Games which has just landed on Steam, promising Rusty the Robot Cowboy, American ninjas (anachronistic much?) and “evil piranhas”. Okay, that does actually sound a tiny bit mad. 8/10 for title accuracy, if not the game itself.

Crusaders Of The Lost Idols
Most tenuous Indiana Jones pastiche ever. I’ll forgive the name, just this once, for the game itself's sheer cuteness. Next. 

Mark McMorris Infinite Air
Not, as I’d hoped, a SingStar rip-off in which you belt out Return Of The Mack on an eternal, infernal loop, but a snowboarding sim from HB Studios headed to PS4, Xbox and PC. Kinda cool, I guess, but my ‘90s R’n’B itch remains distressingly unscratched. Overshare?

Blade Ballet
A “whirling dance of local and online multiplayer robot destruction” (most definitely their words, not mine) which is headed to PS4 and Steam. Further proof that alliterative game titles are not always a good thing, kids. See also: Rayman Raving Rabbids. Every Extend Extra. Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust. Stupid. Stop. Seriously. 

Custard!
Okay, so this wasn’t at the show itself, but Bournemouth-based dev Option4 announced it during E3 week so it totally counts. Its press release warns: “Custard! Is extremely tasty but please try not to eat our device. It may contain bytes.” Guys. GUYS. 

Ever Oasis
Another newcomer that teases musical thrills – a first-person platformer set to Don’t Look Back In Anger, or a sports game in which you have to curl free kicks over the Wonderwall – but no, instead it’s Nintendo’s new 3DS RPG. At least Noel’s kids will like it.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix
I know it’s been round forever, but it still sounds like… you know full well what it sounds like. And too much of it most certainly will not score you a ticket through those pearly gates. 

River City: Tokyo Rumble
Natsume’s side-scrolling brawler is without doubt one of the best games headed to 3DS, but that title is straight out of a random-name generator. (And, to be fair, kind of the point.) I look forward to sequels Ocean Metropolis: San Francisco Brawl and Pond Hamlet: Carshalton Barfight. 

If you love Star Trek, the chances are you don’t want anything so vulgar as a third person cover shooter. You want a game about calmly making decisions with your capable crew. You want a game that lets you make orders in an officious voice, gently gliding you to safety, set in a universe sparkling with hope. You want velour, by God. Star Trek: Bridge Crew is that game.

Bridge Crew is a VR title, revealed by Ubisoft at their E3 conference. It lets you pilot a starship with a team of friends, putting you in control of USS Aegis. Each player has a  specific job to do. If you’re captaining the ship, for example, you’ll be reliant on information from your crew, but you’ll be giving the orders.

The scope of Bridge Crew was wonderfully illustrated in a video which united genuine Star Trek heroes Levar Burton, Jeri Ryan and Karl Urban. Burton described it as //better// than working on the show, because he could actually see the interior of the ship. Is there any higher praise?

In many ways, this is the logical extension of two great co-op space games already available - Spacewar and Artemis Bridge Simulator - but it offers so much more in VR. It promises the full Star Trek experience in a shared virtual world, and a fresh twist on co-op gaming. And, if that doesn’t tempt you, it’s your best chance to use the special Star Trek voice you’ve been practising forever.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is set for release on PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Jesse Eisenberg raised a few eyebrows over the weekend after describing the frenzied Comic-Con experience as similar to "genocide". With a number of tabloid outlets working themselves into a lather over an admittedly regrettable choice of words, Eisenberg has since moved to clarify his comments, stressing his gratitude at being part of such a big movie.

"I of course was using hyperbole to describe the sensory overload I experienced," said Eisenberg to Associated Press. "I sometimes do employ that. I’m a normal person who has normal sensory experiences, so Comic-Con was very overwhelming for me. That said, it was really an honour to be on that end of such jubilation."

"That people are excited about it in that way is unheard of and thrilling," he continues. "I’ve been on the receiving end of movies that no one loves and no one anticipates. That’s worse, even though it’s a much quieter press tour."

That's that cleared up then. Eisenberg will be joined by Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Jeremy Irons when Batman v Superman hits UK and US cinemas on 25 March 2016.

When the nuclear apocalypse comes for us all, Courtenay Taylor will have a head start on survival - because she is the voice of the female protagonist from Vault 111 in Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG, Fallout 4. Don't worry though, she's bound to lend a helping hand. After all, Taylor has some valuable insight on being kind and compassionate - lessons she espouses as Starla on Regular Show.

GamesRadar+ caught up with the talented voice actress at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, and at the GR+ Loot Crate booth, we asked how she manages to keep up. The key takeaway (or at least what I'm going to say is the key takeaway) is that it helps to have friends, even if they're imaginary ones. Check out the interview below to see what I mean:

Quentin Tarantino and the cast of his eighth full-length feature stopped by Hall H today at San Diego Comic-Con. The mere presence of The Hateful 8 at the con is somewhat remarkable considering the early script leak that nearly sent the movie off the rails.

"What pissed me off about what happened with the leak," Tarantino told the crowd, "is that once I finish the script I’m ready for production. With this one, I wasn’t there yet. There were certain plot threads I wasn’t ready to tie up yet, but I knew I had a few more drafts to go. So even though I yelled and screamed, I continued doing what I planned to do. The third draft is the one that we wound up shooting," he added, referring to his process of hashing out the finer details in later revisions.

On the basis of the first seven minutes of footage offered up, we very nearly missed out on a bloody snow-capped western. And while the Hall H exclusive has yet to hit the web, here's the rundown. Set in the wintry post-Civil War climate of Wyoming, a mixed bunch gather at Mimi's Haberdashery -- but we've got a sneaking suspicion needlework ain't on the menu. Instead we're introduced to the titular bunch; Samuel L. Jackson as The Bounty Hunter, Kurt Russell as The Hangman, Jennifer Jason Leigh as The Prisoner, Demian Bichir as The Mexican, Bruce Dern as The Confederate, Tim Roth as The Little Man, Walter Goggins as The Sheriff and Michael Madsen as.... The Cow-Puncher. It's a tense scene, aided by some stellar score work, and a mysterious plot point: someone's not who they say they are.

Rounding out the specially-edited footage came the film's badass tagline: “If you’re looking for revenge, take a number.” The teaser appeared in 70MM, a testament to Tarantino's commitment to celluloid which he hopes as many fans as possible will able to experience during the film's limited roadshow run. That event kicks off in December (in the US only at this point) and offers folks the chance to see it in glorious 70MM.

“We were just looking for really cool scope 70mm,” Tarantino said, referring to the decision to shoot on Ultra Panavision. “Then we found this, which is the biggest format available, aside from that Grand Canyon stuff at Disney World. It’s not like they used lenses like this on Ben-Hur, they used these lenses on Ben-Hur. These are the lenses that shot Ben-Hur. These are the same lenses they used.” Pick thine jaw up from the floor (no, you really should - there's even bigger reveals to come.)

With the cast - excluding Jackson, who popped up during a brief Panavision introductory video - all up on stage, the Q&A commenced. A lot of the cast had chance to shower their director with praise. “I mean this sincerely and I think the great actors sitting here would agree: I would wish that everyone has the opportunity to work with Quentin once. It’s a circus you want to be a part of," said Russell. "Quentin has greatest attention to detail as any director who ever lived. If he had a rival it would only be Luchino Visconti," said Bruce Dern, before adding, "I fit in because the kid [Tarantino] grew up watching me being a jerk on television."

Tarantino then took time to field a series of questions, starting with his shift into a new genre. “I actually feel that when it comes to Westerns, at least nowadays, you have to make three Westerns to call yourself a Western director. Otherwise you’re a dabbler. But I will eventually make a third Western so I can officially call myself a Western director.” And when the little matter of a trilogy-closer came up? "Never say never to Kill Bill 3,” he said. “Uma [Thurman] would really like to do it. We talk about it every once in a while. Vernita’s daughter just needs to get a little older.”

Interestingly enough, this led to chatter about a previous statement by the helmer; that he's happy to retire at ten movies. Sounds like he may have had a change of heart after his experience on Hateful 8: "I might say to hell with that and make it to 15. We'll see.” Finishing up that portion of the panel, he was asked to list his favourite self-penned moment. The scene in the French farmhouse in Inglourious Basterds nabbed his top spot, previously held by the Sicilian speech in True Romance.

As the panel wrapped up, it turns out that the best was saved for last. The final announcement from the director could earn Hateful 8 the 'best panel' honour at this year's Comic-Con -- Ennio Morricone will score the movie. Just while you let that sink in, allow us to reiterate the enormity of this. The legendary Italian composer, whose inimitable work can be heard in some of the most pioneering Westerns, will score his first movie in 40 years.

Smosh Games is one of YouTube's most popular channels, with lifetime nerds Josh Ovenshire and Matt Sohinki doing what most of us do - playing video games and talking about them with friends. The difference of course being that they do it with the cameras on, and have more than once taken their love of fun to absurd extremes: case in point, getting waxed on-camera.

So has the view of San Diego Comic-Con changed for these two brothers in arms now that they're Internet royalty? Not much, they say in this interview from the GamesRadar+ Loot Crate booth. Adam Jensen from Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: Human Revolution has one of the most recognizable voices of any video game character. More accurately, it's his voice actor, Elias Toufexis, who has the recognizable voice. And poor Elias, how was he to know one line from the game he starred in would become a prevalent Internet meme? After all, he never asked for this!

Sorry, sorry. Just had to get that out of my system. In all honesty, it's interesting to listen to Toufexis talk about his audition for the role, as it turns out he didn't know who he was trying out for until much later. We also took the time to find out more about the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, as well as the SyFy show The Expanse, which features Toufexis as ... well, he never told us this. Not even the combined might of Tim Burton and Nicolas Cage could save the ill-fated film Superman Lives, a distinctly unique take on the Superman mythos featuring Christopher Walken as Brainiac, a neon-lit Superman suit and plenty more shocking, strange ideas. The Internet at large has largely condemned the film (despite the fact that it was cancelled weeks before filming), but filmmaker Jon Schnepp decided to give it a second chance.

His film The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened? explores the failed attempt to reboot Superman years before either Superman Returns or Man of Steel hit theaters. Would it have been the trainwreck so many thought it would've been, or a revolutionary vision ahead of its time?
