The chance to grab the best Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals is coming to an end. October 7 is here, which means it's officially day two of this week's savings, and the clock is ticking before the deals are gone for good - literally. Anything part of this month's deals now features a red banner which shows the remaining hours and minutes until Prime Day is up for good.

With time ticking away, it's best I get right to the point. Switch 2 game deals are still not what I wish they were, but you can still pick up Pokemon Legends Z-A for $39.88, and there's still up to $10 off a range of upcoming titles, from Ocarina of Time to Metroid Ravenous. If you've already got plenty to play, accessories should be your priority, and Amazon has plenty of them discounted today. Belkin's range of Switch 2 cases is still cheaper than usual, which includes the Charging Grip Case, a slip-on grip case with a magnetically adhered 10,000mAh power bank.

There's also a smorgasbord of discounted wireless controllers still marked down in price from Turtle Beach and PowerA. These don't quite have the full features of Nintendo's first-party Pro pad, but they're far cheaper and are all officially licensed, like the Invincible Mario Rematch pad that's just $28.49 today. Regardless of what you're after, I recommend adding them to your basket sooner rather than later, as the sun is setting on Prime Day for another year.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales has been on my wish list for a while now. I love RPGs, particularly ones that go the Ys route and swap turn-based battles for some action-packed battle mechanisms instead, and Adventures of Elliot seems to tick those boxes.

Fortunately for me, it's not just part of today's Prime Day deals in the US, but in the UK too. Thanks to that, nothing is stopping me from adding it to my Amazon shopping basket. Well, except maybe my bank account.

This guitar controller deal turns Prime Day up to 11

With the release of Guitar Hero's spiritual successor, Stage Tour, on the horizon, there's a good chance you're on the hunt for a guitar controller like the PDP Riffmaster.

Not only is it set to be compatible with Stage Tour, but the Nintendo Switch 2 version also happens to be included amongst today's Prime Day deals, sitting at $89.99 instead of its usual $149.99. Screen protectors are a must. They can give your fancy Switch 2 a bit of added protection, keeping that new 7.9-inch display safe from unwanted scratches and general wear and tear, and plenty of them are part of the Prime Day sales.

I'm still bananas for this Turtle Beach Rematch controller deal

I love a Switch accessory with a good gimmick, and this version of Turtle Beach's Rematch controller has just that, as it features a lenticular faceplate. What's lenticular, you ask? Well, it means that the art upon this gamepad will appear as though it's moving depending on the angle you're looking at it from. If you grew up in the 90s and remember those moving 3D posters, it's basically that in controller form.

This controller's neat gimmick normally requires you to fork out $60, but Prime Day has dropped it to a little under $29, which is a bananas saving I can get behind. As a Switch 2 fanatic, these are the deals I'm eyeing up this Prime Day

My budget isn't what it once was, but I thought I'd still take a moment to let you know what Switch 2 goodies I'd be picking up today, had I been able.

To start things off, while I have plenty of games to play already, I can't help but eye up this Metroid Ravenous early discount. The game isn't even out yet, and there's already up to $10 off, which is music to my physical game-loving ears. This Switch 2 gaming pillow deal may look silly, but it can be vital for accessibility

Switch 2 Gaming Pillows look a bit strange, but this Lululook accessory is one of my favorites where accessibility is concerned.

For those unaware, I have a condition called hypothyroidism, and it affects my joints. I am constantly dealing with pain in my wrists, hands, and fingers, which can make testing Switch 2 tech for my job pretty painful. However, while using this Lululook pillow, I managed to get a bit of relief, particularly when it came to gaming in bed.

The pillow provides a mount that's connected to a padded base. With it, you can mount the Switch 2, taking the weight off your hands and giving you an alternative way to play. As all of our bodies are different, I can't insist it'll give you the exact same relief. However, it's definitely become one of my favorite ways to give my wrists a break, and it even includes a bowl for extra snacks because why not.

Time is ticking so don't wait too long if you see a Prime Day deal you want

There's just a little over 14 hours to go until October Prime Day comes to an end in the US.

If you see a deal if you like, whether it's a marked down Switch 2 game, controller, case or headset, I'd suggest checking out as soon as possible so you don't miss out. There's been multiple occasions where I've played an item in my Amazon basket, only to forget and miss out on whatever deal was active as I left it too late.

But you don't have to be like me. Make sure to check out your online cart before the time is up.

The wired headset I just tested is Switch 2 compatible and part of today's savings

It's always great to see a piece of tech I literally just finished reviewing wind up on sale, like the HyperX Cloud III wired headset.

The cans sound absolutely incredible, and as it provides 3.5mm, USB-A, and USB-C options, you've got your pick of how you want to connect it to your Switch 2. I highly recommend that you do too, as I've been using it to play Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, and its 53mm-sized drivers bring out the vibrant, triumphant OST of the game's battles.

As I help out looking for Switch deals during Prime Big Deal Days, I'm struck by the fact that everything's felt a bit... anemic. The deals are fine! They're fine. But usually, I'll come across a couple of different options that actually make me consider splashing some cash. This time around, I'm finding myself more inclined to wait for Black Friday.

That said, if I were in the market for a new microSD card for my Switch, I'd be picking up the deal we've previously highlighted in a heartbeat. Storage is my #1 goal whenever discounts apply, and $129.99 is a solid price for a name-brand 512GB card.

Broken record, great controller

I'm a broken record on this recommendation, constantly making it to anyone that will listen whenever relevant, but the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth controller is easily my favorite Bluetooth controller on the market – and it's explicitly meant for the Switch and Switch 2. It feels good in the hand while also being fairly nostalgic if you get the right color scheme. (Mine's Purple.) This price isn't the best one we've seen for this controller, but it's still good enough that I'm happy to recommend it wholeheartedly.

Prime Day PS5 deals are rolling on, and with a fresh day of savings come some casualties. I've seen a number of prices jumping back up the ladder this morning, including one of our top picks from earlier in the sale, Pragmata. That means things are certainly moving in Sony's world, if you see a price you like it's worth getting in there.

These offers officially close out at midnight tonight, but that's just the end of Prime Day PS5 deals as we know them today. In reality, we're likely to see a lot of these discounts repeated over the next few weeks as the run up to Black Friday PS5 deals intensifies.

Right now, there are plenty of offers still standing. First up, though, for those hunting down a PS5 console, there's very little chance of the devices themselves seeing any serious price cuts. 2026 has been plagued by inflated rates, which means the best way to buy a PS5 right now is to go refurbished via Sony itself. PS Direct has both disc and digital models for $100 less than their new MSRPs this week.

More of this year's Prime Day PS5 deals are going to serve those already with a console with the best PS5 accessories and the best PS5 games a lot better.

When to wait for Black Friday

Prime Day PS5 deals are into their second day now, but when should you actually hold off until Black Friday?

Well, if we're talking a game you want to play as soon as possible at its lowest price yet I'd jump right in. While we could see an additional $5-or-so off later in the month, if we're already at rock-bottom pricing on an older release it's well worth getting the extra time in.

If you're looking at a more recent PS5 release with only $10 off, it's time to weigh up some options. There could be additional savings that drop these kinds of titles down to $39.99 or $49.99 later in the year. Whether that extra discount is worth a couple months of playtime is up to you.

Accessories are a little easier to pin down. Most of the best PS5 controllers and best PS5 headsets will be pretty firm in their discount rates between now and Black Friday. Amazon's October Big Deals event generally kicks off his holiday shopping window. If something's at a new record-low price now, it's unlikely to see significant extra savings later in the month. Retailers tend to rotate through the same discounts all the way up to, and often including, Black Friday in November. If we do see extra price cuts on more expensive gadgets, they'll often only be by an additional $10 or so.

I didn't expect a whole onslaught of new discounts this morning, but I had hoped PS5 players would get a second look at the stroke of midnight. Amazon has a whole section of its main deals page dedicated to new offers that have landed today, but there's very little here in the way of gaming, let alone specifics for Sony's console.

An improvement on this PS5 controller discount from yesterday

The Razer Raiju V3 Pro is one of our favorite pro pads for the PS5, but it's not quite been hitting its margins this Prime Day. The $220 controller has been regularly on sale for between $170 and $200 over the course of the year, with a record-low of $129.99 back in February.

Yesterday, Amazon dropped a $180 price tag on this all-in-one controller, but it felt a little soft considering the spring's $169.99 position. I've just spotted the white version going for $161.12, which could give us a little more wiggle room.

See, it's not the lowest price of the year (so won't be making it into my top picks further up the page), but it is still a better price than you would have seen for 99% of the year. If you can hold off for the return of that $129.99 I would, but this is still a solid rate if you're in need of a new pad.

The Scuf Omega is at a record-low price, but it's a tad more expensive

The Scuf Omega is the brand's latest PS5 controller, only launching a few months ago. That means this smaller 15% discount represents a record-low price on the FPS-first device, though we've only been dropped off at $186.99 here. That's still $25 more than the Razer Raiju V3 Pro.

If it's between the two, I'd go with Razer. The Omega feels great in the hands and still keeps the Raiju's clackety face buttons, but it has these little nubbin side buttons that can be a little too easy to accidentally press. The Raiju on the other hand keeps many of the same features but relocates these extra controls to a small clicker next to the main triggers.

Of course if you want to spend as little as possible, Nacon's my top recommendation

Neither the Razer Raiju nor the Scuf Omega are sitting in my top recommendations list today, but the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro is.

This is an older PS5 controller, but it's still got plenty of remappable options, Hall effect sticks, and easy app configuration. It's always been a go-to for a more budget-friendly pro pad, and it's at its lowest price of the year right now.

You're saving a wad of cash compared to both Scuf and Razer here, with a $123.48 sales price attached to this camo version. It's been a few bucks cheaper back in 2025, but so far this one's been a little difficult to nail down in 2026.

Enough controller talk!

We went into a bit of a rabbit hole there, but if you're on the hunt for a pro gamepad in this week's Prime Day PS5 deals at least you've got a wad of options. Still, let's move onto another aspect of your PS5 setup; audio.

My top pick is still the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni today. It's the best gaming headset we've tested overall and it's dropped to a brand new record-low price. We're still looking at $300+ here, though, so I'm going running through the aisles to see what else we recommend in today's offers.

A much cheaper alternative to the Omni Pro Wireless

SteelSeries has far more horses in the stable, and the Nova 3 is the littlest of them all. It's still got this brand's pedigree audio that puts it well above other similarly priced models, while offering that same ski-band style comfort found on more expensive iterations. Throw in a slick EQ preset app, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connectivity, and a 40 hour battery life and you've got a sturdy mid-range buy here.

Right now Woot is back down to the lowest price I've ever seen on this PS5 headset. That $109.99 MSRP usually only dips to the $70s and $80s at Amazon, but you'll find the blue version for $59.99 here today.

Just need a budget PS5 headset?

That's where the Turtle Beach Atlas 200 comes in. This is a budget-friendly headset even on a bad day, starting life at $59.99. However, it's frequently on sale and has dropped to a record-low $34.99 for Prime Day.

That's a great price for those looking to spend as little as possible while finding a better audio solution than their TV's speakers. The wired cups deliver a surprisingly robust audio profile and connect easily to the DualSense controller.

We were impressed by the value on offer when we reviewed the Atlas 200 earlier this year, and it even carries across that super comfortable mesh headband from the Atlas Air as well.

A quick PSA for my Dragon Quest pals

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is down to its lowest ever price on PS5. We're more than $30 off the $59.99 MSRP, and doing $10 better than other retailers right now. This is a must-see for any fans of the classic JRPG series, especially those yearning for more in the absence of DQ12.

One new deal for PS5 racing fans

The Thrustmaster T248R is a fantastic entry point into sim racing on PS5, and it's now cheaper than ever. This force feedback racing wheel took its time joining Prime Day PS5 deals, but this morning dropped from $299.99 to $229.99. That's a record-low by more than $40. This one generally hovers between $280 and the full $349, though it's been pretty locked in at $299 for a couple of months now.

Don't like the look of the Stage Tour guitars?

Stage Tour isn't due to land until December, but the $129.99 Kramer guitar bundle is already up for grabs. Don't like the look of the standard guitar? The game will also be available separately for $39.99 and you can pick up the PDP Riffmaster (compatible on PS5) for $85.49 this Prime Day.

That's about $15 cheaper than we see it day to day, this one's usually found for $99.99 rather than the full $149.99 whack. However, it's not up with my top picks. While we gave it a fairly sturdy rating in review, it's been $10 cheaper this year so far - back in June when it hit $75.49. Still, we're in a better position than most days here.

RIP this tiny saving on Halo: Campaign Evolved

It only took a $5 discount for Best Buy to run out of stock on the PS5 version of Halo: Campaign Evolved The $49.99 release dropped to $44.99 in the retailer's competing TechTober sale but it's now been swept off the shelves. Amazon is also out of stock on the PS5 disc, so your best bet right now is Walmart.

Speaking of Walmart...

It's currently the only retailer you'll find discounting 007 First Light to compete against this week's Prime Day PS5 deals. The Bond blockbuster has held firm at $69.99 at Amazon and Best Buy since release, but Walmart (via Antonline) has the disc for $62.10 right now. That's not a massive saving, but it's certainly something.

Should you buy a PS5 Pro in 2026?

I first reviewed the PS5 Pro on release, and even then I didn't think it was worth the money to upgrade - unless you were particularly focused on getting the best experience possible and you played in a monitor setup. With all these price increases flying around, the Pro is even harder to justify.

You're looking at a $900 outlay for this boosted console. That's difficult from both an upgrader and a late-adopter's point of view. If you've already got an OG PS5 or a PS5 Slim, you're looking at a full $899 just for a little extra detail in your ray tracing.

If you're in the market for a new console, even the uptick over the digital edition's $599 price tag isn't going to be worth it overall.

Need a cheaper racing wheel?

The T248 featured earlier still strikes the right balance between features and price for beginners, but if you're going further into the budget realm its sibling is also taking part in Prime Day PS5 deals.

The Thrustmaster T128 P still brings force feedback into play but drops your pedals down to two and sacrificing a lot of power behind the wheel. This is the one to choose if you just want to drive, opt for the T248 if you're more interested in the next level of immersion.

Why are third party PS5 controllers so expensive?

In short, because Sony's pretty strict on what it lets its PS5 talk to. Hardware licensing around the system is pretty hardcore, a lot more restrictive compared to Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Everything that works with the PlayStation needs to go through Sony's own licensing process.

That's why you'll only generally find premium pro controllers on the shelves, from the likes of Razer, Scuf, and Nacon. If they're clearing a gamepad, they want to make sure it's going to be worth their while.

The cheapest PS5 upgrade you'll find this Prime Day

Don't want to break the bank in this week's Prime Day PS5 deals? That's where thumbstick toppers come in. KontrolFreek has a sturdy supply discounted at Amazon right now, with grippy, textured caps designed for better handling and precision in faster titles.

Best Buy's not looking great for games

I mean, Amazon only has a few bangers on the shelves this week but Best Buy is falling even further behind. We've got a share of discounts here, sure - Mafia: The Old Country has hit $29.99, you can get some Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound for less than $20, and Battlefield 6 is $15 off.

There's just nothing headline worthy in this lineup. Considering Amazon's chopping prices on the latest Resident Evil and newer releases like Blood of Dawnwalker there's a disparity here.

There are some particularly rough PS5 prices going right now

I can forgive Amazon for not discounting the PS5 this Prime Day, but charging over the odds for an OG device? That's pretty rough.

The digital edition Slim model will run you $599 brand new these days, but third party listings have the 2020 version for a whopping $750. Needless to say, this isn't worth your time - but if you're are hunting down a new console this week it's worth the PSA.

When will Prime Day PS5 deals officially end?

Amazon's current roster of Prime Day PS5 deals are due to close out at midnight tonight. That means these Prime-exclusive savings will start ticking up the price scale - but it's not the end of the world if you miss out.

Even in earlier summer sales, we often see many savings sticking around for a few days after the main event. The October affair? That's where things get interesting.

In previous years we've seen these Prime Day discounts essentially kickstarting the entire holiday sales season. Typically retailers will be rotating through similar offers in the next few weeks, culminating in November's big bash.

Yep, PS5 storage is a pain at the moment

Component shortages have pushed prices on SSDs sky-high this year, which is why you'll likely struggle to find a decent storage solution for your PS5 this holiday season. Amazon has a few offers out there, like a 2TB Lexar stick for $271.99 or a 1TB Acer Predator GM7 drive for $159.99, but if you were hoping for the kinds of prices we'd have seen last year it's best to maximize your own inbuilt storage before taking the extra SSD plunge.

The vampire RPG so nice we recommended it twice

Yes, I recommended The Blood of Dawnwalker in yesterday's Prime Day PS5 deals live blog, and I'm doing it again today because it's just that good. Although way smaller in scope than Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of those rare, masterfully written RPGs where every interaction feels substantial and rewarding, where immediately second-guess every dialogue choice you make, and where simply wandering around almost always yields a delightful surprise. Here, it's wrapped up in a deliciously gothic package that just sweetens the deal for horror sickos like me. Save $10 on it this Prime Day.

This wireless Sega Mega Drive controller got me out a bad placed (Metropolis Zone)

I'm pretty open about my mental health, and a few months back, I was trying to get faster at completing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Mega Drive as a distraction from life. Retroid Pocket 5 stock is allegedly depleting

I'm not sure how much I buy into the "only 16 left in stock" red warning messages at Amazon, but given that the Retroid Pocket 5 is being reduced to clear, it could be dwindling. I primarily use the OSSC for upscaling retro console visuals, but there's a specific reason I use a GBS-C with the PS2. Sony sequel system largely outputs 480i, and weaving "interlaced" lines of visuals into solid frames your modern screen understands can result in jittery, distracting visuals. Woot is hellbent on getting me to put a countertop Burger Time arcade machine in my kitchen. That's no one's fault but the online giant, and given that we're in a cost of living crisis, I feel like it could be doing more to help players enhance their setups.

I'm pretty salty about the C64 Mini

For years, the original C64 Mini was my go-to system for quick and easy access to the microcomputer's classics. The fact that it was under $50 for a pretty long time at Amazon helps, and the arrival of the brilliant but pricey Commodore 64 Ultimate reinforced my love for the tiny plug-and-play alternative.

I am a bit peeved that the OG beige version has been virtually replaced by the black version at Amazon, and the latter isn't getting any Prime Day discounts. It's admittedly cheaper than its full MSRP, but still sitting higher than the older version was in previous years. You'll still get largely the same emulation-based machine with some homebrew games included instead of commercial releases, but I'd rather the original was still available.

Look, I reckon I'm something of a retro gaming purist, but I completely get the desire to play old games with a new controller. Luckily, you can pair new-fangled gamepads like the DualSense to the PS1 and PS2 using 8Bitdo's excellent Retro Receivers, and while the one of Sony's systems specifically has yet to receive a Prime Day discount (everyone say booo), there are versions for other consoles with discounts.

All the retro console deals are waiting for Black Friday

With every October Prime Day that passes, it becomes increasingly clear that it's supposed to be a minor prelude to Black Friday. At least, that's the case now that margins on gadgets are slimmer, meaning brands are reluctant to consent to multiple big price cuts in a year. As a journalist who's been involved in this sort of thing for over a decade, I really think we need to approach Amazon's sale differently, but my tl;dr on that is that if you want bigger discounts, you'll want to wait for Black Friday retro deals to kick in at the end of November.

Yes, you can use the new GameCube controller with a real GameCube

From the moment I clapped eyes on Nintendo's new GameCube controller, I was to use it with a real GameCube. Originally, I was planning to use 8Bitdo's Retro Receiver, but that was before I realised the Switch 2 has a screwy new protocol that blocks the pad from working. Thankfully, the open-source Blueretro Bluetooth adapter ended up saving the day with support, and it's still the dongle I use to this day.

For this one, you'll want to stick with AliExpress, as Amazon isn't very good at discounting Blueretro accessories. There are listings, but they are double the price, so I'd patch Prime Day and just grab it cheaper elsewhere.

This isn't a Super Pocket deal

No, really, that red deal badge on the Amazon listing might lead you to think the Super Pocket is discounted, but it really isn't. In fact, if you take into account previous price hikes, you're paying more compared to at launch, and the Capcom version has specifically dipped to $59.99 in the past.

This isn't really Blaze's fault, as Evercade US listings at Amazon are pretty scrappy. If you're after a Super Pocket and prices are stuck at MSRP, I'd suggest just going straight to the company's FunstocksUS storefront since that'll cut out the middleman. In any case, I need you to ignore that "lowest price in 30 days" badge, as it's pretty misleading, to say the least.

You can already grab Hyperkin's upcoming SupaBoy handheld for $10 less

Hyperkin is set to release two new SupaBoy handhelds in what is effectively a relaunch of the old SNES portable. You'll need to wait until the end of the month for the two new flavors, but if you're not fussed about colorways, the previously released blue and pink "Hyper Beach" version is actually available now and $10 cheaper.

As far as I'm aware, the new handhelds will use the same design as the previous SupaBoy. Therefore, you shouldn't be losing any compatibility or features by going for the 2021 version. I'll hopefully be testing the new revision when it's available, but if you do fancy taking a punt on this portable, you can do so right now.

Will retro consoles end up cheaper AFTER Prime Day?

It sounds absurd, but there's every chance that Prime Day will wrap up and some retro consoles, handhelds, and accessories will show up for less. Not every brand or seller is working to Amazon's schedule, and while you should be getting the deepest discounts during the event, I've absolutely witnessed rogue deals in previous years after things wrap up.

What I will say is that any current discounts that are explicitly tied to the sale will likely go back up in price, but they shouldn't get cheaper. If that happened, it would completely defeat the point in the event at all, and even as things currently stand, it's purpose is a little questionable.

I've been eyeing up this SNES controller for a while, and Prime Day might give me a push

I either use a real SNES controller, some cursed third-party job from my collection, or the 8Bitdo Retro Receiver and Gulikit Elves 2 Pro. Things are fine that way, but I have been thinking about introducing a dedicated SN30 wireless controller into my setup just to change things up. Availability is sometimes spotty on these, but you can actually grab 20% off the transparent black and green versions thanks to Prime Day, bringing them down to a nicer sub-$25 price.

It's pretty difficult to shave cash off that GTA 6 pre-order these days, this is the biggest release of the decade after all. However, Costco members are in for a treat this week.

Members can grab four $25 gift cards for $79.99 all in. That has you covered for the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, all for $20 less than you'd pay usually. These kinds of gift card options are the only reliable way to get those numbers down ahead of release day, and this is one of the shiniest discounts on the web right now.

Don't want to spend $300+ on a headset for GTA 6?

Allow me to introduce the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni's cheaper sibling. The Nova 3P sits at the bottom of SteelSeries' price ladder, and doesn't feature the hot-swappable batteries, easy multi-platform switching, or the top-grade Hi-Res audio of the Omni. It does, however, cost you a mere $59.99 this Prime Day.

The wireless headset has dropped back to its record-low price at Woot this week, a fantastic rate I've only seen a handful of times this year so far. It's not going to be an upgrade if you already have an older headset that might have cost you between $100 and $200, but if you're currently relying on TV speakers and want something a little closer it will do the job particularly well for its price.

The controller I'd recommend for Xbox players

If you're going to be playing GTA 6 on an Xbox console, I'd shoot for the Nacon Revolution X Unlimited as your controller pick. It's probably my favorite feature-rich, premium Xbox controller, and with its current price being down to $149.99 at Best Buy in its Xbox 360 Anniversary colorway, it's an absolute bargain.

If you're sticking with Amazon for Prime Day, you can grab the original black colorway in a Big Deal Days discount, but it's not quite as low as Best Buy's.

It's a horrible time to go looking for extra storage but I'll do my best

I wouldn't blame you if storage space was a worry with GTA 6 coming up. It's amazing how one big game can start to eat up the little console storage we have as standard, and even if GTA 6 is the only game you might care about for a while, it's still good to have a bit of spare.

Unfortunately, you couldn't think of a worse time to shop for a spare PS5 SSD because AI companies are stealing all of the world's supply and consumer prices have skyrocketed. That said, bear with me, I'm going to see what bargains I can find on some internal or external SSDs this Prime Day.

While I look for storage, here's an excellent mid-range headset for you

Let's say you don't have the money to afford the pricey, top-of-the-line SteelSeries headset I mentioned above, but you want something a bit more premium than the budget option. I'd turn to the Fractal Scape, a gaming headset with a very comfortable, high-end, and feature-rich feel to it. It's seeing a $30 saving at a bunch of retailers at the moment, and since it's one I use almost daily, it's a headset I very much recommend.

On a similar note, here's a more budget-friendly controller for Xbox players

Again, this will be one for Xbox players first and foremost, but if you're looking for an Xbox controller that's a bit more friendly on your wallet, the GameSir G7 Pro is definitely, definitely worth looking at. This is one of the best value gamepads on the shelves currently, and it'd be the perfect companion for exploring Vice City.

The hunt for PS5 SSDs isn't going so well

As I mentioned before, the PS5 SSD market is in flames. If I were you, I'd look at any of these at Amazon that you feel are appealing to your budget if you really need the extra storage space. If it's not an absolute must for you though, I'd avoid buying one at all right now - seriously, the prices are just that bad.

If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be this Acer Predator GM7 1TB drive, which is going for $159.99 in a Prime Day deal. Just remember that you'll need a heatsink for it because these types of drives generate a lot of heat and if you don't keep them cool, you'll do damage to it and the internals of your console. I've linked to my favorite heatsink below too. Thankfully, that's actually at a genuinely low cost.

PS5 players, I see you

There are loads of pro controller options for Xbox gamers, but surprisingly few for PS5 - especially when it comes to ones that don't break the bank. The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is a bit older now - so much so that Razer has literally just announced the V4 Pro for Xbox- but that means it's one of the most deal-prone PS5 pro controllers you can find.

It's currently seeing a discount down from its $215 original price (which, to be fair, we never see it at these days) down to $134.

I was going to ask if you wanted to play GTA 6 in VR, but nevermind

I had this whole post planned where I was going to tell you that if you harnessed the power of PSVR 2's cinematic mode, you could play GTA 6 in VR - which would also be a perfect solution for when your family members, partner, or flatmates needed to use the TV and you didn't want to stop playing the game.

Annoyingly, PSVR 2 seems to be so low on stock that you can hardly buy it anywhere, and if you can, it's way, way above price and will probably be a pre-owned version anyway.

I even checked PlayStation's Direct retailer and in the US, the headset isn't even listed as far as I can see. I'll keep checking for stock because I do think it'd be amazing to play this game in VR with tiny OLED displays booting it into your eyeballs, but I don't recommend buying the headset at higher than its $399 price.

To OLED or not to OLED, that is the question

A game that looks as good as this one might be motivating you to look for a new gaming display, and personally, I don't think TVs and monitors get any better than OLEDs.

There's only one problem: OLEDs are expensive, and with extremely high refresh rates that surpass what the PS5 and Xbox can do, maybe they're overkill for GTA 6 unless you're waiting for the PC release.

If you are looking to go OLED on GTA 6, I don't blame you, but here's my buying advice as someone who shopped around and saved up for one for years before I managed to get one. Don't automatically go for the most up-to-date model. Especially on the LG side of things, annual updates are incremental at best, so if you're still able to get one from a few generations ago at a more reasonable price, you probably aren't going to miss out on much.

For example, the LG OLED C4, which I have, is a stunningly good TV with a 144Hz refresh rate - more than enough for me to harness it for high frame rate PC gaming. It's somehow still available at Amazon despite the current gen being the C6. I'd recommend the 55-inch model, which is available for $1,195 - that's about $200 more than I paid for it about a year and a half ago, but it's a good price for this size.

Alternatively, if you want the C6 but you're not massively fussed about the size, go for the 42-inch model, which is somehow cheaper at $999.

These aren't on sale, but if you're looking for a more affordable sound system ahead of GTA 6's launch, I can recommend the Logitech Z407 2.1 setup. These are our favorite computer speakers, and while they aren't discounted, they hold a whole lot of value for gamers connecting up to different platforms. These are ones I use every day, so I can vouch for them, especially if you want good sound quality on a budget.

If you're looking for the DualSense Edge, you're out of luck

I can totally appreciate that if you want a bit more controller for your money on PS5, you want the official PS5 pro controller, especially since it's the only one on the platform that will give you haptic feedback.

Annoyingly, Sony is playing hardball and across all of the retailers, there are no DualSense Edge discounts. Sorry about that, but rest assured I'll be checking as Prime Day continues on over the next few days.

Prep your ears for GTA 6 with my trusty Sony INZONE H3 wired headset for just $68

Tabitha spotlighted a $60 headset from SteelSeries earlier today as an alternative to the $300 gaming headsets you see all over the place, and I'd like to highlight another option from Sony in preparation for GTA 6. I've been using the Sony INZONE H3 wired headset for almost three years now, and it has yet to let me down. I paid the full $120 retail price when I bought it, and I don't regret the purchase one bit.

Sound quality is great, spatial audio is immersive, and build quality seems solid. If you want to immerse yourself in GTA 6 without any distractions and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars when everything is already exorbitantly expensive as it is, I can't recommend this first-party Sony headset enough - and since it's wired for 3mm jacks, you should have no compatibility issues using it on Xbox if that's your preferred platform.

I think this is the perfect mid-budget monitor to play GTA 6 on, but I'm biased

I have a slightly older version of this gaming monitor, but I can tell you I paid quite a bit more for it than $159.99, which is where it's priced for Prime Day. Personally, I'll be playing GTA 6 on my 65" 4K TV, but if you have your PS5 or Xbox plugged into a PC monitor and you want to upgrade your kit before November 19, I would recommend this one if it's within your target budget. I've been gaming on an LG screen very similar to this one for a few years now, and it has yet to let me down.

The 1440p screen, which I think is the sweet spot for performance and image quality on a budget, looks fantastic and the 200Hz refresh rate ensures a consistently smooth image in motion. I also like how intuitive the on-screen settings menu is, which allows you to toggle on and off a huge variety of features for the price. For my money, it's tough to beat this screen in the sub-$200 field, especially with this Prime Day deal.

PSA: The GTA 6 PS5 DualSense is up for pre-order on Amazon

This is just a friendly PSA that the beautiful GTA 6-themed PS5 DualSense controller appears to be available for pre-order on Amazon at this very moment. Availability has been a little wobbly since pre-orders began last month, so if you've had your eye on the white variant that's available outside of PS Direct, now might be a good time to snap one up on Amazon.

This being a Prime Day blog, I'm obliged to state the obvious that there's no actual discount on the controller, but again, that really shouldn't be a surprise considering it has yet to release. $84 is a little steep for a standard DualSense with some admittedly gorgeous design flourishes, but what is Grand Theft Auto if not the very synthesis of excess?

I just spent the better part of two months largely confined to a lying down position because of horrific back pain, so I know better than most how important it is to take care of your spinal column. I have a good chair, my problem is that I like to sit down like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings for hours at a time. With GTA 6 on the way, I need to be very mindful about my sitting posture while playing the game, and you should too unless you want to end up like me, staring at the ceiling for weeks.

As it turns out, Prime Day is great time to upgrade your seat before GTA 6 firmly grounds you in it. There are plenty of great gaming chair deals going on, but I found one that seems to be a good mix of quality, name brand reputation, and price. There are gaming chairs out there that exceed $1,000, and let's be real, everything is crazy expensive right now, so here's one that gets great reviews from users and professional chair reviewers that won't break the bank.

Looking for a way to take GTA 6 on the go? The best mobile controller is discounted right now

If you plan on doing some remote play on either your PS5 or Xbox Series X/S when GTA 6 arrives, it doesn't get much better than the ELO Vagabond when it comes to taking your gaming sessions on the go. Granted, it isn't the most portable mobile controller out there, but it's certainly more like a proper gamepad than alternatives like the Backbone One, which I wouldn't recommend when better mobile controllers are at this price.

The ELO Vagabond can remote play both consoles, as well as hook up with Steamlink and GeForce Now, so it's a perfect, versatile option regardless of the platform you use.

Two more affordable PS5 controllers if Scuf is too pricey for you

If Scuf is feeling a little too pricey for you, I'd take a look at either the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro, or the Razer Raiju V3 Pro. Both are great controllers I got to review, and I'd recommend either.

Both of them are seeing discounts right now, with Nacon coming out as the more affordable one. That's to be expected since it's a bit older than Razer's latest PS5 pad that only launched this time last year.

The only caveat? Nacon's launching an updated Revolution 5 Unlimited, which has a lot of great refinements. Maybe click the highlighted text to read more, and if you can do without those for the cheaper price, check out the deal below.

If you're looking to go OLED for a new TV to play GTA on, the 55-inch LG C5 is currently under a grand. I have the C4, which shares a lot of the same specs, so I'd recommend this one very easily.

You've got over a month to kill - why not revisit the classics of the franchise?

If you want to revisit the older games in the GTA franchise, the remastered trilogy is currently on offer at Amazon.

This gets you GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and San Andreas in one package, which is actually a lot of content to get through in a month, but you could give it a try. At the very least, you can play Vice City and compare how GTA 6's map and world compare when it comes out. If I know these games, and I do, they tend to throw in references and easter eggs to older games, so I'd expect some Vice City references come November 19 that you'll only appreciate if you play Vice City first.

A budget controller for Xbox players here, and it's... kind of GTA themed? Maybe?

The GameSir G7 SE is an excellent budget controller for Xbox and PC, and it's down to $35.99 at the moment, which is a super reasonable price for the features it gives you.

It's not exactly official or intentional, but the Purple colorway of it could very easily tee it up as a GTA 6 companion. Take a look for yourself...

If you're a bigger fan of earbuds than full-blown headsets, you could check out the SteelSeries Arctis Game Buds, which work across multiple platforms, give you active noise cancelling and low-latency audio, as well as Bluetooth connectivity like a regular pair of earbuds. They'd be perfect for GTA 6, especially if you'll want to take it on the go with Remote Play by pairing a phone to a console.
