If you've been sitting there feeling sorry for yourself that you missed out on the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro controller, you'll be happy to know Hori has an Ocarina of Time pad of its own on the horizon.

Hori Japan has unveiled on its official X (Twitter) page that a new official Ocarina of Time remake controller and a batch of Switch 2 accessories inspired by the upcoming game are now available to pre-order in Japan. As a Horipad Turbo, the controller will be missing some of the premium features of Nintendo's first-party pad, like its NFC-reading tech, but the wireless accessory is still a pretty sight to behold. Particularly for Zelda fans who love spying the Hylian crest (and a tiny silhouette of Link and Epona) on all their Ninty peripherals.

As the new 8,980 yen (approx $58.48) controller is a Horipad Turbo device, you'll have TMR sticks at your disposal if you pre-order this pad, along with some mappable back buttons like all existing versions of this wireless accessory. While that's all well and good, the battery is a bit lackluster, especially when compared to the Switch 2 Pro Controller's 40-hours. Instead, Hori states you can manage 10 hours of playtime per charge, which I imagine will be pretty easy to achieve once the Ocarina of Time Remake releases later this year.

However, as is always the case with these officially licensed accessories, the importance is less on specs and more on design, and this is a great-looking Zelda peripheral. The white and gold colorway looks as prestigious as the Princess herself, and I love that the faceplate seems to feature a marbling effect. The small Link and Epona sihoulette, however, is my favorite detail, and it can also be spotted on the back of the Game Card Case. Unlike the controller, this case can be imported for $11.59 via Amazon Japan and includes space for what appears to be up to three physical games.

The Link and Epona motifs don't stop there, as they're also a fixture of all three cases, which make up the rest of this set. It's found on the exterior of the $29.16 (via Amazon) Slim Hard Pouch, alongside a faded version of the map of Hyrule.

The leather-like texture of the case lends itself to this map imagery, as it makes the entire accessory look like a worn-out item from Link's massive arsenal of weapons, rather than a simple Switch 2 case. The interior lining looks just as spectacular, as seen in the photos available on the official Hori online store, it features a Link-tunic green colored fabric that I adore.

There's no clear sign whether this lining is found on the matching $32.43 (Amazon) Shoulder Pouch or the $35.67 (Amazon) All-in-One Storage bag, but one can only hope. Talking of which, there's no sign any of these accessories will officially make their way to the US or UK Amazon storefronts either, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If you're okay with importing, you can expect them to launch on November 30, 2026, a little after the game.

With the hype of the Ocarina of Time Remake growing by the day, I suspect this won't be the only collection of accessories in store for Zelda and Switch 2 fans.

IKEA just released something I never imagined in all my years investing in the brand's elaborate flat-packed furniture - a Skryim mod. No really, Kallax Storageborn (via YouTube) is a legitimate mod that you can download from the Bethesda Creations website that allows you to adventure throughout Tamriel with a white shelving unit as your companion.

For years now, I've been using the $79.99 (via IKEA) Kallax (and versions of it) to store and display my favorite game merch, so it feels entirely apt to see it get a Skyrim cameo. However, I'd have sooner expected the Kallax to be nothing but an in-game piece of furniture designed to declutter your homestead instead of also being a companion character fully voiced by Matt Berry.

Unfortunately for me, my real-life Kallax doesn't sound like Laszlo from What We Do in the Shadows. Regardless, the real deal is a fixture of my gaming room, and IKEA's bizarre yet hilarious new mod has reminded me just how much I cherish the versatile piece of storage.

If you stumble into any gaming nerd's room, you're likely to come across a range of IKEA furniture. My office and gaming space is so overrun with flat-packed pieces that you could mistake it for one of the example rooms on the store's showroom floor. While typing these very words, I'm sitting at a Linnmon corner desk, while a Billy bookcase and old Detolf glass cabinet are sitting behind me, displaying my ever-growing physical video game collection.

Some people may be bothered by the sterile modern aesthetic of too much IKEA furniture in one place, but I don't mind it as they're affordable and most importantly pretty versatile. But no piece of IKEA furniture is just as versatile as the Kallax. At the moment, I have the very same Kallax as featured in the Skyrim mod sitting right to my left. I use it as both a room divider and a way to display an assortment of my precious video game merch, and I adore it. The 39 cm deep squares can store plenty, as you can clearly see from my vast selection of Persona goodies in the image below. There's a wealth of items in there, from artbooks, figures, and even a little Morgana plush, all of which I'd struggle to squeeze into another brand's similar-sized unit.

My absolute favorite thing about the Kallax isn't that its shelving is deep, but that you can buy accessories for it. While these seemingly don't feature in the Skyrim mod, you can pick up $25 (IKEA) drawer units or a $30 (IKEA) insert with a glass door. The latter is my absolute favorite addition to the Kallax, as it can allow you to transform it into a perfect display piece for video game collectibles.

Glass displays help keep out dust and prevent merch from accidental damage, and they used to be IKEA's bread and butter. Just about every collector I know has had the brand's Detolf cabinet in their gaming space at one moment or another. Sadly, these were discontinued, but with these inserts, you can tailor your existing Kallax display to your liking and add more glass displays into your setup.

If you want to try out the Kallax Storageborn Skyrim mod, you can download it for the PC and Xbox version of the game via the Bethesda Creations website. According to the official FAQ as found on the official IKEA website, PlayStation players will have to wait a while longer to experience some Kallax-fueled adventures of their own.

If you're feeling impatient, there's nothing stopping you from picking up a real-life Kallax and dragging it around. Just be warned it won't sound like Matt Berry, and just as the manual recommends, you should lay down a carpet first to avoid ruining any precious hardwood flooring.

The CRKD Nitro Deck 2 has finally begun shipping worldwide, and my wrists are rejoicing. As much as I adore the Nintendo Switch 2, the flat backs of the Joy-Cons love to induce bouts of aches and pains in my wrists. However, the ergonomic form factor of the Nitro Deck 2 looks like a wrist-pain-saving blessing packaged up as a handy-dandy Switch 2 controller.

I was fully expecting the $99.99 (via Amazon) Switch 2 gamepad to come and take the pressure off my aging millennial bones earlier this Spring, but multiple delays prevented that from becoming a reality. Yet now the long wait is finally over, as CRKD announced that the gamepad (alongside the ATOM+) is shipping globally as I type these very words. Look out joint pain, your end is nigh.

It's not like I haven't had plenty of the best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers at my disposal to provide a more comfortable alternative to the official Joy-Cons in the meantime. Yet as someone who plays handheld mode each and every night, the upgraded sculpted contours and optimized thumb placement for the Nitro Deck 2 seem to be levels ahead of all the accessories I've tested to date.

Not to mention, I'm not just excited for the enhanced grips on the back of the Nitro Deck 2, but for the entire package it brings to the table. The controller is also equipped with the brand's CaptiStick-branded Capacitor Sticks to help prevent any dreaded cases of stick drift. Not only are they built to fend off your sticks from having a mind of their own, but CRKD also boasts that these new advanced capacitor sensors allow for an ultra-responsive experience. Something I'm particularly looking forward to testing alongside the new content for Mario Kart World and in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. If it's responsive enough to help take down my friends with greater ease, it'll be a win in my book.

One of my absolute favorite features of this incoming accessory is that it also doubles up as a Pro-style gamepad. I missed out on securing the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro controller this week, but realising I can simply transform the Nitro Deck 2 into a Pro pad in its stead when using docked mode was a nice realisation. Especially when you factor in that it should arrive at my door far sooner than the Zelda alternative.

If you're still in that tentative phase of wondering whether to invest in the newer Switch 2, there's good news on that front too. CRKD has included a retractable locking dial to keep the display securely in place with the Nitro Deck 2, and it also allows compatibility with the OG and OLED Switch models.

That means you could grab a Nitro Deck 2 pre-order and still use the $100 accessory for your newer handheld when you're ready to make the upgrade. I'll be sure to test it alongside both the OLED Switch and the Switch 2 when my review sample arrives at my door, if you want to wait for our review. While I'll have two weeks of testing under my belt, my full thoughts shouldn't take long, with global shipping underway.

PowerA has come to the rescue for those who don't put Ocarina of Time on a pedestal. The accessories brand has announced two new Nintendo Switch 2 accessories via its Twitter (X) account, but rather than plastering them with artwork taken from the upcoming Ocarina of Time Remake, they instead take inspiration from Tears of the Kingdom.

The officially licensed goodies are live at Amazon Japan starting from 3,530 yen (approx $23) and show off a wireless gamepad and a Switch 2 case. The controller isn't draped in green and gold like the new first-party Switch 2 Pro pad, but instead features a black chassis with gold Zonai-like embellishments and the game's fractured Master Sword front and center. If you aren't on the hunt for a new controller, the brand is also launching a leather-like bound case that features the Hylian crest, with both expected to drop on October 9 later this year.

Yet, while these Switch 2 accessories are newly announced, they're already available at Amazon US. You can grab the controller and case for $64.88 and $24.99 respectively, without having to wait for the spooky season to come around. There's every chance that these new versions could include updated features, but if you're in the market for new Switch 2 Zelda goodies and Ocarina isn't your jam, you have the option of not waiting around.

The Switch 2 pad shown off at Amazon Japan looks to be the exact same PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller available for $64.88 at Amazon US. That's not a bad thing, as this controller is packed with Hall effect sticks to help prevent any dreaded drift issues, motion controls, up to a 30-hour battery, and mappable back buttons.

If you're thinking of picking this up over the newly unveiled Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro controller, it's already far easier to find in stock, but there is a caveat. This controller, while being an officially licensed Zelda accessory, is missing the HD rumble and NFC-reading tech of Nintendo's first-party alternative. That means you're not going to have the full gamut of features on display with this, as you could with the premium option.

The PowerA Protection Case for Nintendo Switch 2 is also already up at Amazon US, and it is the cheaper accessory of the two with its $24.99 (Amazon) MSRP. It's also based on Tears of the Kingdom, which is unmistakable from the Zonai-pattern creeping in the corners of the exterior of the case, and the little green and gold tag on the inside.

Much like the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases, this accessory includes space for the handheld, smaller accessories via a fabric mesh pocket, and space to store up to 10 physical games. While I haven't tested it myself, I'd honestly recommend it over the new $39.99 (via Nintendo) 40th Anniversary case that's available via the official Nintendo online store.

The new 40th edition case looks to be based on the official Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case, which is one of my biggest Switch 2 shopping regrets since the console's conception. Unlike this PowerA option, it doesn't have a hardened exterior, and never felt like it could give my pricey bit of Ninty tech the protection it deserves. If you want to keep your pricey handheld safe and protected (and have ample storage for extras), this PowerA option looks far sturdier.

Better yet, you won't have to wrestle with any pre-order queues to grab it, as it's readily in stock and ready to ship. Though anyone based in Japan will still have to wait a few weeks - though that's nothing a quick rendition of the Song of Double Time on the ocarina can't fix.

As revealed via Xbox Wire today, it's made of existing 8BitDo and SteelSeries accessories, like the SteelSeries Arctis Game Buds, and coats them in creamy and green colorways to "bring a little wonder" to your Xbox or PC setup.

With the fall season starting, the forest-green colors are maybe a bit behind. That being said, if you're fed up with being pandered to with nostalgia-fueled transparent tech, this cozy collection feels like a nice consolation prize. Should you want a bit less nostalgia and a bit more whimsy in your life, I've gathered all you need in order to transform your Xbox/PC setup below.

8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard – Forest Wonder

The first and biggest part of the Designed for XBOX Cozy Collection is undoubtedly the 8BitDo Retro 87 mechanical gaming keyboard. This 87-key wireless board is a feast for the eyes with its green and creamy-brown color combination and adorable pixelated imagery.

While this board is not officially affiliated with Stardew Valley in any way, everything from the tiny patrolling bear on the space bar to the pixel acorn escape key feels really reminiscent of the equally cozy farming sim.

You can typically grab this board for $99.99 at Amazon, so there is an upcharge of $20 to be found with this collection. Yet whether you opt for the new Forest Wonder edition or any of the brand's existing models, you'll still get the RGB backlit keys, independent control panel, large dual super custom buttons, and 8BitDo Kailh switches to play with.

8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse – Forest Wonder

The keyboard perfectly matches the Forest Wonder 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse. Again, this isn't an entirely brand-new product, as you've been able to grab the gaming rodent in a range of designs, but this is the first time it's sported this green and yellow color palette.

This gaming mouse comes with a charging dock, which shares some of the same adorable pixel art as the keyboard, and it's equipped with customizable side buttons and HUANO micro switches. You've also got your pick of playing wired or going wireless with Bluetooth 5.3 or via a low-latency 2.4G connection.

8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller – Mossy Lagoon

This is my personal favorite accessory of the lot. Rather than drawing inspiration from forest creatures, this Mossy Lagoon controller sports a murky blue color palette that makes it look like it was fished out of the nearest lake, and I'm all for it.

The pixelated creatures are also a bit different this time around, showcasing little jellyfish and crabs instead of any forest inhabitants. The bright and vivid sea life pops against the blue chassis, as does the yellow-orange color of the gamepad's sticks.

Talking of which, this is an 8BitDo Ultimate 3 controller you've got TMR sticks, hall-effect triggers, back buttons, an up to 1000Hz polling rate and an integrated charging dock at your disposal.

SteelSeries Arctis Gamebuds & KontrolFreek No-Slip Thumb Grips – XBOX Cozy Edition

SteelSeries's accessories aren't as visually interesting as the rest of the Cozy Collection, but I'm still a fan. The SteelSeries Arctis Game Buds remain the best gaming earbuds I've used to date and continue to be part of my gaming and everyday setup, so I'm always on board to see them get a makeover.

SteelSeries has draped its iconic earbuds in new Matcha and Yuzu colors (basically green and a creamy yellow) which are available straight from the brand's online store. Despite being released as part of an official Xbox accessory collection, SteelSeries has generously provided both Xbox and PlayStation models of the earphones, which are available for the same $199.99 MSRP.

No matter which model (or color) you pick up, you'll be greeted with the same fantastic-sounding 6mm neodymium drivers, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connectivity options, tap controls, charging case, and support and EQ customization via the brand's easy-to-use app.

KontrolFreek's No-Slip Thumb Grips match perfectly with the buds. The "Cozy Edition" textured grips share the same Matcha and Yuzu colorways, which makes sense as SteelSeries owns the KontrolFreek brand. These can easily slip onto the sticks of your favorite Xbox Series X controller to add a drop of color, provide more grip for heated gaming sessions, and protect the default gamepad's sticks from general wear and tear. There's no mention of them being compatible with the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 gamepad above, but as a long-time collector of KontrolFreek grips, I find you can manage to stick them on pretty much everything if you try hard enough.

Orzly has been knocking out cases since the original Nintendo Switch was all we knew. For years, the brand has provided options for those who want more color variety, plenty of game and accessory storage, and a way to protect and carry their pricey Ninty tech without spending more than they have to.

When the new generation of Ninty tech arrived, naturally so did a new Orzly case, and I was eager to see if it would take the best Nintendo Switch 2 case crown. While the brand hasn't rocked the boat with new dramatic changes, the Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2 is proof that Orzly remains the same budget-friendly kings of cases this generation as it did the last.

Design

The design of the Orzly Carrying Case is ripe for customization.

There are no large, garish logos plastered everywhere. Instead, the case features a glossy exterior with an embossed rectangular space in the center and tiny 'Orzly' branding towards the bottom right corner, and that's it. Not to mention, it's available in a huge variety of plain colors, so you have your pick of a base for whatever your artistic heart desires.

Throughout my time testing the clamshell case, I had to constantly fight down the urge to grab my acrylic paint pens and give it a makeover. I wanted to ensure it looked exactly how it would arrive at your door in my photos, should you choose to get one for yourself. However, I must admit, it wasn't easy to keep that restraint.

While the design of this case may be so simple that it feels like an open canvas for customizability, it still looks great. I was provided with a black, Poke, and blue version for review, but gravitated towards the black colorway for its sleek and professional appearance. The 'Poke' version is definitely a runner-up for my favorite colorway, as it opts for a red and black color combo that's more subtle than official Pokemon cases I've tested.

Features

Orzly doesn't just keep the exterior of the case plain and simple. The inside features space for the handheld, some games, and accessories, and that's pretty much all you get - but that's not a bad thing.

Orzly keeps things simple, but spacious. The interior of the case includes a fabric mesh pocket which can be fully zipped closed to keep the smallest of accessories from going missing. Behind this lies an empty pocket of space which would be ideal for gaming manuals, if they were still a thing. If you do happen to be someone who keeps physical notes on your Ninty games, you could use it for that too.

While the upper portion is where you'll find the accessory storage, the bottom is where you'll find space for both the handheld and some physical games. The case is moulded perfectly for the Switch 2, and includes a velvet-like fabric coating that helps protect against general wear and tear. The center of this moulded interior includes a velcro strap which is designed to adhere to a flap of fabric that sits above the console to keep it secure, and to give you a place to store up to 21 games in total.

Performance

During the weeks I used the Orzly accessory to protect and carry around my precious Switch 2, it was this spacious storage that impressed me the most.

Often, cases that include a fabric mesh pocket designed for accessory storage aren't actually that advisable to use. That's because overloading it with controller parts and spare Switch 2 microSD Express Cards can result in unwanted pressure being forced up against the display of your handheld during travel. However, Orzly gets around this as the carrying case includes a deep-set upper portion that allows plenty of space to float between whatever you choose to store and your Switch 2 below.

Rather than feeling like I was zipping up a ready-to-burst suitcase, closing the accessory each day left me feeling reassured that my tech was safe and away from harm. I will say, though, that the stress of worrying about an overloaded accessory pocket made me pack light, which likely helped further negate any undue stress on the display. During the entirety of testing, I made sure to only pack a spare set of Joy-Con 2 rails, a stylus touch pen, and a packet of four spare thumb grips with me any time.

My only annoyance with the case comes down to those extra designs I was provided with for review. I primarily kept to testing the black colorway, and so I assumed it'd have a black interior. However, even the lovely vivid sky blue version shared the same insides, which was a little boring. If I was opting for a colorful Switch 2 case, I'd hope that the interior was just as interesting to look at. Though there's every chance the plain black insides are what help keep the Orzly Carrying Case and all its many color options so affordable at $29.99, and less when there are sales abound.

Should you buy the Orzly Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2?

The Orzly Carrying Case isn't draped in colorful, officially licensed art of Mario and friends, nor does it boast flashy features like the best Switch 2 case champion, the Belkin Charging Case Pro. Yet, if you have a $30 / £20 budget and don't want to spend a penny more, it's this case that I'd recommend, with one little caveat.

The spacious interior I lauded earlier means that this is bulkier than your garden-variety hardshell option. If you're light on space enough as it is, the PowerA Slim Case is going to be a better fit, and it's $19.99 / £9.99, so it's even cheaper too. You will have to be okay with negating the existence of accessory storage altogether, but it remains the go-to option if you're already Tetris-ing the contents of your backpack as you game on the go.

If you can facilitate the added bulk and want a huge variety of color options to suit your Switch 2 setup aesthetic needs, this Orzly case is a winner. It's also one of those cases that's prime discount fodder when the biggest sales events come around, so you're bound to find it at an even more agreeable price point too.

How I tested the Orzly Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2

For this review, I was sent three different colorways of the Orzly Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2 to sample, but I spent most of my time testing out the black version. During a two-week period, the case became my main method of carrying the handheld with me wherever I went, whether that was from room to room in my house, into the city center, or just to a friend's for some co-op gaming. I also made sure to take advantage of and test its accessory storage by placing a range of physical games and smaller handheld accessories inside.

SanDisk finally has a 1TB microSD Express Card among its storage ranks. While the brand was one of the first (alongside Samsung) to provide officially licensed storage options for the Nintendo Switch 2, it had yet to launch a 1000 GB capacity card for both the handheld (and other compatible devices) until now.

The new card was shown off at Gamescom last week, as originally reported by NotebookCheck, adding to the brand's 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB microSDXC lineup. While that's great for those of us who want a little more variety when it comes to browsing the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Card options, you might not enjoy its staggering $359.99 MSRP, which is almost the entirety of the cost of the console itself.

At $359.99, there's only $140 separating its price from that of the Switch 2's new US MSRP. To make matters more unnerving, there's every chance that it's just an introductory discounted price, as the official SanDisk website has it scored out at over $474.99. That could suggest it costs even more than a Switch 2 with no discounts around, which feels like current SSD price levels of depressing.

Setting aside the price for a moment, the 1TB Switch 2 SD is powered by a PCIe Gen 3-NVMe interface, which, when combined with its standard microSD UHS-I interface, allows the card to reach read speeds up to 880MB/s. These are the same boasted speeds across the rest of the lineup, and as such, it also utilizes the brand's ThermAdapt technology to prevent overheating and is boasted by the official SanDisk website to be waterproof, temperature-proof, humidity-proof, drop-proof, and generally "wear-out proof" should you be planning to put the card through its paces.

It's available right now via Amazon or the official SanDisk online store in the US, but you have more options if you can't quite stomach the costly card. Both Lexar and PNY have 1TB options available for $349.99 and $299.99 at Amazon, respectively. Lexar's card is even a little faster as it boasts read speeds up to 900MB/s, so it's worth checking out the competition if you need more space for your Switch 2 games and downloads.

If you're a bit flabbergasted by the prices of these 1TB cards, you aren't alone. I've been covering Switch 2 SD cards since the console dropped and discovered that, just like the best SSDs for gaming, Switch 2 SD card prices have been on the rise. It's sent me into a bit of a spiral. In fact, the 1TB PNY option was as low as $199.99 when I reviewed the card earlier this year, a price I'd hoped to see listed for this new SanDisk version when I first heard of its existence.

Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case, and I was greeted with the $359.99 it's listed for today. If you're looking to invest in a Switch 2 and want extra storage, my best recommendation is to avoid this and grab a 256GB alternative and see how that fares for you. That'll at least double your available storage from the get-go, and won't cost you over $350 - which is more than I even pay for my own monthly mortgage.

The Nintendo Switch 2 just got its first-ever price increase, which is not a great way to start the autumnal season. Yet while the console has gone up in price, a huge swath of my favorite Nintendo Switch 2 accessories have gone the opposite route.

For starters, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless is down to just $59.99 at Woot, which is more than reasonable for this incredible pair of cups. The accessory remains the best Nintendo Switch headset I've tested to date as it condenses the brand's great-sounding 40mm Neodymium audio drivers, Bluetooth & 2.4GHz connectivity, and audio preset support into a lightweight and snazzy-looking package. If you've already got a decent headset, that's okay, as September has brought with it a fair feast of other low prices on some of my go-to accessories.

The Belkin Nintendo Switch 2 Charging Case is down to $62.99 at Amazon, which helps make one of the handiest accessories a little bit more financially accessible. The case can charge your Switch 2 as you go, but there's also the Orzly Carrying Case, which is as little as $18.69 for those who want a more simplified option. I'm testing it right now, and I'm obsessed with its spacious storage when other brands often leave you putting pressure on the handheld's display with their overly compact interior pockets.

Whether you want a headset, case, a new gamepad, or a spare AC adapter, I've gathered all my favorite Switch 2 accessory deals of the season down below, so you can get equipped for the fall gaming season. If you don't already own the latest Ninty machine, and you can save at least $50 on accessories you already had your eye on, that would help settle the price increase blow - just a thought.

The 25th Anniversary Xbox celebrations continue. Razer has just dropped a series of officially licensed Xbox accessories on its online store, which sport the same transparent-green retro look as the upcoming anniversary console.

Part of the Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection, the brand has launched pre-orders for a new Razer Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds, Razer BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, and a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse that are set to drop on October 20 later this year. Better yet, you can pick up the entire set of Razer accessories for $199.99, $209.99, and $179.99, respectively, and still spend less than the rumoured $899.99 for the upcoming limited-edition console.

The limited edition collection starts with the $199.99 Razer Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed gaming earbuds. Just like the original model, these earphones are equipped with the brand's SmartSwitch Dual Wireless, so you can alternate between Bluetooth 5.2 and a low-latency 2.4 GHz connection. The buds also provide up to 10 hours of battery life, with an additional 25 hours if you top up their juice via the RGB charging case.

If you don't want to carry around Xbox-branded earbuds, you can save $20 by grabbing either the multi-platform or the PlayStation model instead. But you'll have to accept the extra cost if you want to add a touch of nostalgia to your PC setup.

It's the same situation with the $179.99 Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse. It's $20 more than the original release, but you're essentially paying more for that Xbox branding and retro-futuristic design. The gaming rodent boasts a second-generation Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor and a whopping 140-hour battery. It's also rocking customizable RGB lighting, which you can customize through Razer's Chroma software and sync up with the matching Razer BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard.

At $209.99, it's the most expensive item from Razer's Xbox 25th Anniversary line-up, though its MSRP looks far nicer on the eyes than that rumored Series X price. The board includes a 75% layout, as the name suggests, and it includes blue, yellow, green, and red directional keys that harken back to the original ABXY buttons of the OG Xbox Duke gamepad.

Razer isn't the only brand to be part of Xbox's new 25th Anniversary Collection. According to the official Xbox Wire blog, 8BitDo is also launching an X25 Special Edition Charging Dock for its Xbox controllers, which is available to pre-order for $39.99 (8BitDo) at its online store.

The charging dock is expected to ship in October 20 later this year. However, if you're too impatient, you could alternatively pick up the 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse, 8BitDo Ultimate 3 controller, or the 8BitDo Retro 87-Key keyboard starting from $59.99 at Amazon today. They're missing their 25th anniversary branding, as they've been around for a while. But with them, you'll still get that same see-through design.

The Backone Pro also has a 25th Anniversary Edition controller launching this October. With it, you have the chance to receive a blue, bold orange, and crystal-clear colorway at random, all colors that harken back to the original Xbox console. If you'd rather know what you're getting, pre-orders for the $44.99 (GameSir) GameSir X5 Lite for XBOX are now live, sharing the same green 25th look as the rest of the anniversary collection.

Razer's highly detailed Artisan Keycap sold out pretty quick. Just eight minutes after the brand's X (Twitter) post that the accessory was live and ready to buy, the hand-painted key made in "highly limited" quantities was snatched up by Team Sneki fans across the globe.

Not even its lofty $89.99 / £89.99 asking price could deter it from selling out entirely. You could spend a fraction of the cost and get yourself one of the best gaming keyboards with a whole spread of keys, never mind just one. However, as it's already sold out, it's too late to remind everyone of its hefty MSRP. Instead, I'd much rather use my privilege of being sent a sample by Razer to assure those who have bought one that they're getting exactly what Razer said they would: a "painstakingly painted and assembled by hand" accessory that is full of detail and even prettier than it has any right to be.

Opening up the small cardboard Razer Artisan Keycap box for the first time was a surreal moment. I've seen custom keycaps in the past, so I was well aware of just how tiny they could be. However, the amount of detail on display in the marketing images made my brain assume the finished cap would be a large beast, and not the cute and compact accessory it turned out to be.

That's pretty great, as when it comes to practical keycaps, you ideally don't want something so big that it mammoths over your other keys and makes typing awkward, or even darn-right impossible. Fortunately, Razer's keycap doesn't do either of those things.

With its cross-stem (MX-style) switch compatibility, popping it onto any board I had in my household was a breeze. MX switches are pretty much the standard these days, so it didn't just fit my Asus TUF Gaming Hatsune Miku keyboard, but pretty much every board I had at my disposal. Even better, getting it all hooked up was just as simple as swapping out any other keycap. All I needed was a key-puller to pull out the original pink Escape key on my Asus board and a pair of sturdy hands to push down the Razer one in its place, and it was good to go.

Once attached to my board, I was pretty impressed with the amount of stunning detail that Razer managed to pack into such a tiny resin form factor. The microscopic slithers of yellow paint for the eyes are exactly where you'd want them to be, with not a touch out of place. Even the snake's little noses have been accounted for and painted, which I didn't suspect.

During Razer's original unveiling on its website, you can see the shadows that looked airbrushed on to create depth, but they look even better in person. The shadows bend perfectly with the Razer-green snake heads, and there are no harsh lines that look amateurish or like you're looking at a baby's firstWarhammer minature paint job. Despite being made of resin, a tricky material that often cirmounts in swarms of air bubbles, the surface on my sample was immaculate too. The only 'bumps' were the tiny little scales which you can see (and feel) across the backs of each snake.

It looked so impressive right out of the box that I was scared to use it, but the brand insists it's for "everyday typing," and so I put it through its paces with just that. Over the last week, the triple-headed snake replaced my pink Hatsune Miku Escape key and was used to type up multiple articles for GamesRadar+, as well as playing through games like Counter-Strike 2 and Marvel Rivals. I did deliberately attach it to a key that barely gets a lot of use, but at no point did it fall off, break, or render my 'Escape' functionality useless. Good job, snakes!

Yet as stunning, practical, and unique as this Razer accessory oddity is, I don't think I'd be personally comfortable parting with almost $100 for it. But then, I'm not a keycap aficionado, nor do I collect pieces of Razer gaming history, so there's every chance I just don't "get it" and might not be the target audience that this piece of gaming art was intended for.

I much prefer the look of Razer's Sanrio keycaps, which are far cheaper at $19.99 a box and include resin replicas of Hello Kitty and friends. That being said, while the triple-headed snake isn't my style (or within my personal budget), I'm glad that it's exactly as Razer said it would be - a "hand-finished resin masterpiece" that's easy to install, practical, and swarming with slithering amounts of detail. Should you be sitting there waiting like Scott Pilgrim at the door for yours to arrive, you should feel at ease that you only have your bank account to worry about, as its appearance even managed to live up to my venomous expectations.

Razer is adding more exclusive keycaps to its arsenal, but this time, instead of cute 3D depictions of Hello Kitty and friends wielding the brand's iconic tech, it's a detailed and, if I can be frank, somewhat terrifying Triple-Headed Snake Edition keycap inspired by the brand's "legendary emblem."

The Artisan Keycap is set to drop on August 23, later this month, and you can sign up to be notified when stock slithers to the site via the official Razer online store, should you want more Team Sneki representation. Unlike the brand's best gaming keyboards, this is a truly cosmetic addition to your setup and has no in-game benefits besides some bragging rights and the ability to bop the heads of a highly detailed snake as you game away.

When Razer's PR came to me about the keycap, they mentioned it was a bit of a "quirky" release, and I fully expected something along the lines of their recently released Sanrio line, but this is far more fancy-pants. According to the official blog post shared on August 13, 2026, the cap was brought to life using "advanced 3D modeling techniques" and then manufactured using resin.

The resin was mixed with color to "the ideal ratio" and "fully cured for maximum hardness", which should mean there are no air bubbles in sight in the final product. Back in my cosplaying days, I made a fair few accessories with resin, and air bubbles were my biggest nemesis, but I'm sure Razer has a better tight-knit manufacturing process than some bottles of UV resin and a nail gel light.

What I admire most about the Sneki accessory is that each one has been individually hand-painted. If you were worried that the process would result in errors of paint going out of line, I wouldn't be. Razer iterates that each cap is scrutinized against the original 3D model, and any errors, like visible air bubbles or surface defects, are taken care of. If only I had that amount of energy for scrutiny when it came to my cosplaying back in the day, I would have been unstoppable.

The finished product is designed to fit securely with cross-stem switches, so you don't even need a Razer-branded board like the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro to add it to your keyset. MX cross-stem switches are pretty much the standard these days, so you shouldn't have much issue with having a board that can facilitate the keycap, though I'd definitely triple-check before making the purchase. Anything that's labeled as a "one of a kind" collector's item is likely not going to come cheap, and you don't want to fork out a large sum on something you can't actually use.

If you do still feel compelled to add the highly detailed snake to your board, I recommend signing up to be notified about its drop on Razer's site, as these are being "produced in highly limited quantities and never to be found anywhere else." I suspect they will creep onto second-hand sites like eBay shortly after release, but you can definitely expect an inflated price to come along with them.

The JSAUX EnergyFlow Joy-Con Charging Dock is a controller holder and charger in one - perfect for anyone with an additional pair of Joy-Cons, it can charge up to four of Nintendo's controllers at a time. Essentially, you could have your handheld sitting in its dock and juicing up your original pair, while this is attached via the USB-C port charging up two more.

As with most modern gaming goodies, the EnergyFlow is alight with RGB lighting, which is super luminescent and just darn right pretty. If you find lighting on your gaming tech gaudy, you'll be glad to know that there's a button on top to turn it off. You will have to remember to do so each night, and otherwise it'll be keeping your living room illuminated, or in my case, glaring into my cat's eyes as he tried to sleep on the sofa. However, it's at least nice of JSAUX to provide the option for non-RGB fans.

If you want more JSAUX discounted goodies, it seems the celebrations aren't unique to Amazon, as you can find them on the JSAUX online store too. The EnergyFlow is available for the same $16.99 discounted price straight from the source, and I recommend having a little rummage through the rest of the brand's online store, as it's the only place to find accessories like the JSAUX 6-in-1 Switch 2 Dock, which I reviewed just last week and loved just as much.

Razer just unveiled a brand-new line-up of console skins for the Nintendo Switch 2 on X (Twitter) yesterday, based on a range of iconic Sanrio characters. Just like the brand's new keycaps, there's a set available for fans of everyone from Cinnamoroll to PomPomPurin, to be stuck to your official dock, Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers, and even Joy-Con grips to give a touch of Sanrio cuteness.

Like previous Sanrio keycaps these are exclusive to Target, and available now starting from $19.99. That means there's no way to get hold of these adorable skins in the UK for now, so this range is entirely for the US Sanrio fans.

Razer iterates that these new Nintendo Switch 2 accessories are crafted from premium 3M cast vinyl so not only do they seriously up the cute factor of your Switch 2, but they're sturdy enough to help "guard against scratches, scuffs, and daily wear from travel, docking, and frequent gameplay." Talking of docking, that's one of the main pros to grabbing a skin over a wrap-around case.

You see, right now I have a Pokemon-themed bumper case attached to my console, and the extra width renders a lot of my accessories entirely useless. As much as I love the Belkin Charging Case Pro, I can't actually use its charging capabilities as my slip case adds too much thickness for the USB-C port. Instead, these are "ultra-thin" and offer "full dock compatibility."

You don't need any tools to get these skins attached either. If you happen to get bored of Cinnamoroll (how dare you), Razer states these are also easily removable "without residue" so you won't need to worry about the condition of your console underneath. That's great news if you do want to switch things up, as this range encompasses not just Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and PomPomPurin, but Razer previously launched a set for Kuromi and Hello Kitty fans for the same $19.99 (Target) price.

If you're UK-based like me and want an alternative, Dbrand's Switch 2 skins ship to the UK, but you will have to forgo hopes of finding Hello Kitty's friends on their versions. But hey, some of its skins glow in the dark, which is cute in a nostalgic 90s kinda way.

Pokemon Pokopia's launch gave me the nudge to invest in some sickeningly cute accessories. At the time, I naturally grabbed a pair of thumb grips that were 'inspired' by Psyduck and Slowpoke, as, for whatever reason, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have yet to take all my money and provide official alternatives.

As cute as these were, running my fingertips across the Pokemon's faces wasn't all that comfortable, so I grabbed the equally adorable GeekShare Colorful Mint Candy Joystick Caps and, lo and behold, these are the comfirst grips I've used yet. I have to admit that I had my assumptions that these could become a favorite Switch 2 accessory of mine, as they look Polo mints, a classic sweet treat from my childhood. However, nostalgia aside, I wasn't fully expecting just how comfortable pressing my thumbs into replicas of these iconic sweeties would be after hours upon hours exploring the watery depths of Pokopia's Bubbly Basin.

It's usually safe to assume that thumb grips based on unusual shapes and designs aren't the most comfortable. In fact, when friends have asked me for grip recommendations in the past with comfort in mind, I usually steer them away from ones based on cute cat faces and glittery skulls and towards the KontrolFreek No-Slip Thumb Grips ($12.99 at Amazon) instead.

Their more uniform circular shape means that they're less awkward to move about, and the ridges provide enough texture that your thumbs don't slip around. GeekShare's circular candy design means they're still just as easy to control. Over the weekend, I spent countless hours building underwater houses that were fit for a mermaid, and the rounded grips felt just as easy to manipulate 10 hours in as they did within the first few minutes of unlocking the new Bubbly Basin environment.

Their recessed circular centers were a perfect fit for my thumbs, and I never felt any strain. The best part is undoubtedly its textured surface, however. As these aren't officially licensed Polo grips, they say 'Roll Mint' rather than 'Polo Mint' on the surface, but that text alone is embossed enough to provide an ample amount of grip. Smashing a cacophony of bricks was easy when I had the 'Roll Mint' text keeping my thumbs nice and secure.

I'm a sucker for cute thumb grips that utilize unique shapes and designs, but often these designs aren't actually very practical. While I (and my cat Kylo) enjoyed the look of the KontrolFreek x CaseOh grips, using them in practice after a while was a tad awkward. Their thick widths and spikey cat ears occasionally got in the way, but round sweets are perfect for circumnavigating those usual awkward design issues.

By the time Sunday evening rolled around, I loved that not only are the rounded accessories practical, but they still look good enough to eat. Well, when their slightly sticky silicone surface isn't attracting dust and debris, a common issue with these and pretty much all thumb grips I've ever used so far.

At $9.99 for a pack of four (two sets are included), I'd easily recommend these for anyone after a cute but practical pair of Switch 2 Joy-Con grip covers. If you don't mind shopping at places like AliExpress, I have spotted the grips for as low as 99 cents before, but I can't be sure of their legitimacy. As is so often the case with controller grips, they pop up across different US and UK retailers using the same images but with a whole slew of different brand names. As always, I recommend sticking to picking these up for $11.99 / £9.99 via the official GeekShare Amazon storefront to ensure you're getting the real sweet deal.

I've tested more JSAUX accessories than I can count with both hands, and plenty of them have the chops to contend with the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories I've looked at. Yet the JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock for Switch 2 intrigued me the most out of the lot, partially because it's a cluttered and confusing mess at first glance.

It's a dock, as you've likely surmised from its name, that includes a line-up of handy ports, an LED screen at the front, charging slots for spare Joy-Con controllers, and some game and microSD Express Card storage on top of all that, because why not? All of that meshes together into a pretty ugly device in my eyes, but fortunately for me, looks can be deceiving.

Design

The first time I caught a glimpse of the JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock for the Switch 2, I couldn't help but notice there was a lot going on. It's not like the SIWIQU Switch 2 dock where it's just a simple block, and that's it. Instead, JSAUX has crammed in a ton of extras that make it appear like the Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium of Switch 2 accessories.

What I mean is, there's a lot to it, and so it's not exactly the nicest-looking dock on the market. The first thing that's hard to ignore is the circular LED display. When hooked up, it permanently lights up and works as a status indicator for how juiced up your Joy-Con controllers are. It's probably my least favorite thing about the dock, as I never really found use for it besides adding to the light pollution in my living room, but it's there should you want to be constantly informed of the battery life of your spare controllers.

This screen sits on the front-facing side of the device, and behind it is a wall of game and Switch 2 SD card storage. This storage is opposite the first two Joy-Con controller ports, which are colored red and blue so you know exactly what to place where. Additionally, the sides of the dock also have Joy-Con controller ports, should you need a couple more. Talking of controller charging, behind these slots lies the main 'dock' part of the device, which is designed to store and charge a Pro controller or the Switch 2 once you place it in the accompanying charger adapter.

Features

There's a lot going on with this device. It can hook up to your smart TV or gaming monitor like the official dock, and it supports 4K/60Hz, 2K/120Hz, 1080p/120Hz, and 4K/60Hz video output.

The dock is also a multi-purpose charging machine. There are slots for up to four single Switch 2 Joy-Cons (six if you're using the charging adapter) and a Switch 2 Pro controller simultaneously - if you don't have the handheld attached. Should you not have Nintendo's official premium pad kicking around, I discovered the dock also works well with similar-shaped Pro options, like the PowerA Advantage Wireless Controller.

Even if your controllers are fully juiced up, the JSAUX dock is a pretty handy storage solution. It helps too that the back of the LED indicator screen includes slots designed to store up to four physical Switch and Switch 2 cartridges, and four slots compatible with the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards. But the real meat of this dock isn't its storage capabilities, but its plentiful ports lined up across the back of the foldable device.

You've got an Ethernet port, snf two USB 2.0 Type-A ports that can support data transfers up to 480Mbps and connect to accessories including keyboards, mice, and other devices. To get your console hooked up to your display of choice, you've naturally got an HDMI 2.0 port and a fast-charging USB-C PD port to plug in your AC adapter to get it all powered up. The entire unit can also be folded away to make it more compact for travel or storage.

Performance

JSAUX's 6-in-1 accessory has replaced my official Switch 2 dock for a number of reasons. The first of which is that it does the same polished job. Once the handheld is nestled in the UBC-C bay with the adapter in tow, the Switch 2 is ready to be played, and there were no visual oddities whatsoever during testing. Additionally, I noticed it took up practically the same amount of space as Nintendo's official alternative, but made more sense in my setup due to the cabling sitting at the back.

Using the real-deal can occasionally feel a little awkward in this respect. With the HDMI and AC adapter always having to pull to the right (when you're looking straight at it), I always have to ensure it doesn't interfere with my turntable, which is always sitting directly to the side of my main room's consoles.

With the ports all neatly located at the back, the JSAUX dock just suits my setup more, but that won't be the case for everyone.

Its multiple charging opportunities may be more of a benefit. Now that my partner has a Switch 2 of his own, having accessories that can charge all our Joy-Cons at once is very appreciated, particularly for when we want to spend an evening failing miserably at the mini-games in Rhythm Paradise Groove (and enjoying every second).

With the magnetic connectivity, slotting in the controllers was easy peasy, and there was never an awkward moment with charging. This was the time when I was extra pleased to discover that the USB-C bay is compatible with controllers other than Nintendo's Pro options too. Nothing is worse than forking out cash on an accessory only for it to feel like it's pushing you to invest in another, but much to my pleasure, I could happily charge my Pokemon Mega Evolutions pad without issue.

It was pretty ideal that I had to travel during testing. One of the main draws to this dock (particularly over the official version) is that it can fold up and be stored away. Normally I'd bring my JSAUX All-In-One Carrying Case with my dock shoved inside when taking my Switch 2 to my Mom's house, however, the compact nature of the JSAUX dock meant I could easily slot it into my backpack while my Switch 2 was nestled in the Belkin Charging Case Pro.

The only real hindrance I felt with the dock was with the LCD display. I'm typically a sucker for RGB lighting and nonsensical add-ons that are purely cosmetic, but this display and I did not get on. For one, the lighting is far too bright. There was one night where, thanks to my very unwell cat, I had to crash in the main room of my own home, and the light kept waking me up. I felt like that I was recreating that 'Limmy Waking Up' meme every time I awoke to the illuminating JSAUX logo in my face.

The display is also very prone to attracting dust and cosmetic damage. By default, it comes with a covering to protect it from wear and tear during transit. However, the second this was removed, I noticed the plastic surface would be coated in scratches. There is a slight chance that the one I was provided with to review just so happened to turn up in this state, but it made taking photos for this review a bit of a challenge.

Not to mention, the side of the dock the display sits on occasionally moves on its own accord. There were a few instances where it swung down and hit the display of my Switch 2. It's a good thing I have a screen protector equipped, but it did still instill a strong fear in me that this could one day severely damage my beloved (and pricey) handheld. Which ideally is not what you want from a $59.99 accessory that's meant to improve your setup and not hinder it in any way.

Should you buy the JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock for Switch 2?

Picking up an additional official Nintendo Switch 2 dock can be pretty costly. For whatever reason, Nintendo only packages its official dock alongside a spare AC adapter for $124.99 at the official Nintendo US store, which is a lot to pay if you're just looking to grab a spare for your bedroom. That leaves you with two real options: grab it second-hand for a little bit cheaper, or grab a third-party dock. The $59.99 (JSAUX) JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock is a valid choice.

It's not my immediate go-to if it's just the docking you're after, as there are plenty of cheaper options available. Not to mention, more compact options like the Genki Covert Dock 3 if portability is your number one priority. But this JSAUX dock is ideal if you're looking for a replacement that does practically all the real deal can muster, while providing some helpful storage and charging features that can lend themselves to any Switch 2 setup. Just know it's not the prettiest dock on the block, but it's what's on the inside that counts.

How I tested the JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock for Switch 2

I had the JSAUX 6-in-1 Gaming Dock in my setup for a little under a month during the testing process. During that time, the official Switch 2 dock was set aside, and this became the only way I played the handheld in docked mode while using my Samsung smart TV. I used the dock while playing a range of games, from Pokemon Pokopia, Mario Kart World, and Rhythm Paradise Groove. Afterwards, I took the third-party dock to my mum's house and integrated it into her setup to see how portable and accessible it was when integrated with TV setups other than my own.

The new Razer Sanrio Edition Keycaps have finally appeared at Target's online storefront, but the price for one single (and randomized) blind box is a bit more than I had hoped.

The official product page for these PC accessories lists them for $19.99 (Target) each, and there are up to five to collect in total. Each box contains one randomized collectible of Cinnamoroll, Pompompuri, Hello Kitty, Kuromi, or My Melody, so you'd have to spend around $99.95 to collect the lot - and that's if luck is on your side. Not to mention, there's an additional chrome-plated secret design to be found in one in every 24th box, so a full set could cost you more than the brand's own gaming keyboards, like the $119.99 Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Mini.

You don't have to try and collect the full set, of course. I'd be happy with just a single $19.99 keycap, especially as I have a soft spot for just about every Sanrio character included in this collaboration. However, if you're looking for a specific character, the nature of this blind box presentation could make it a costly endeavour.

It's a shame that it's not available as a full and complete set for those who prefer it. I'm sure plenty of Sanrio fans would much rather either know what they're getting, or have the ability to collect the lot without the risk of doubling up. It would make more sense too, as plenty of people with any of Razer's existing Sanrio tech, like that of the recently unveiled Cinnamoroll headset, would then be able to better match the cute caps to their existing Hello Kitty and friends-themed setups.

Talking of which, if the costly price of collecting the set wasn't a bummer enough, a review on the Target product page states that the "key caps don’t even fit with the Sanrio Razer keyboards", which seems like a major missed opportunity.

To play devil's advocate for a moment, Razer didn't state that they would. On the original blog post shared on July 12, 2026, the brand iterated that the keycaps were compatible with MX cross-stem switches, including the Razer BlackWidow V4 lineup. The Sanrio keyboards, like that of the Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless Kuromi Edition I tested in March of 2025, utilize the brand's Mecha-Membrane switches instead. However, I feel like releasing a set compatible with the brand's existing Sanrio tech would have been a no-brainer.

If you're planning on heading to a physical Target store or want to pick up one of the blind boxes online, just go prepared. You'll need to make sure that your keyboard is equipped to handle the caps, and most importantly, that you can afford the investment should you not get the Sanrio character you want the first time around.

I wholly expected Pokemon Pokopia's first DLC expansion to demand far more than just 3.14MB of the Switch 2's storage, but I like being proven wrong. Especially as it means that fans (myself included) can avoid picking up a pricey microSD Express Card, particularly when 512GB cards have skyrocketed in price over the last few months.

If you'd still at least like a little storage pick-me-up, you can grab an extra 128GB for as little as $39.99 at Amazon right now. Unlike higher capacity cards, it's not going to cost you almost as much as the console itself, and it's a little less than its usual $45 price range it likes to sit at today. Of course, you can save more by sticking with the Switch 2's internal storage, but an extra 128GB on top will help you with Pokopia and Ninty's upcoming releases.

The best microSD Express Cards are available in capacities up to 1TB, but that hefty storage amount comes at a hefty cost these days. If you've just invested in a Nintendo Switch 2 to avoid having to fork out for its upcoming September price cut, it's highly likely that you don't want to to drop the $371.99 (Amazon) required for a 1TB model. They used to sit at a more reasonable $199.99, but have jumped up in recent months, likely another annoying knock-on effect from the RAM & storage crisis.

As alluring as an extra 1TB is, you'll want to pick up at least an extra 128GB instead. Ideally, an extra 256GB is your best bet, as that will double up your available on-board storage.

Remember, the base Pokemon Pokopia game is only 6.3 GB, so that's plenty for it and the new DLC. You could even download the recent Switch 2 Star Fox and its 15.1 GB worth of data, and the 13.1 GB worth of Splatoon Raiders, and you'd still have space left over. I'd just recommend grabbing this deal before its price goes the way of its 1TB counterpart.

Square Enix's Final Fantasy 14 is finally making its way onto the Nintendo Switch 2, but if you want to install the beloved MMO, you'll need to free up a massive 117GB worth of space. That's almost half of the console's 256GB onboard storage, but as has been the case since the handheld's inception, you can invest in a Switch 2 SD card to prepare for the RPG and other storage-demanding games like it.

The best microSD Express Cards are available in capacities from 128GB up to 1TB, and while more expensive than the previous generation's cards, they have remained free of the pricing woes plaguing SSDs, or so I thought. While doing my usual check of some Switch 2 cards for possible deal coverage, I noticed that the once $199.99 1TB PNY microSD Express card is now listed for as high as $371.99 at Amazon, and it's entirely sold out on the UK storefront.

That's a $172 increase since when I originally reviewed it in March earlier this year, and now I'm worried that SD cards are now going the way of the best SSDs for gaming and being affected by the RAMpocalypse. I had hoped they'd be spared from the current gaming storage pricing hellscape, but the evidence is pointing to the contrary.

There was a chance that this escalation was just an Amazon US anomaly. Yet a quick glance at the official US PNY online store reveals that not to be the case. That very card with the P-SDU1TBP31EXP-GE SKU is listed with the same $371.99 (PNY) price tag, a sum that's depressingly not that far behind the current $499 price of the Nintendo Switch 2 console. According to my CamelCamelCamel price checker, its 512GB card hasn't stuck at its $113.99 MSRP either. It shot up to $146.16 on February 6, earlier this year, so even the smaller capacity cards aren't safe from fluctuating pricing.

Of course, if it were only PNY cards being affected, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. Yet, a quick scan of the few storage brands with microSD Express Cards that provide as much as 1TB extra space reveals they too are being affected. The Lexar 1TB Play PRO Micro SD Express Card, the very first 1TB model to hit the market, launched for $199.99 / £199.99. As you've likely guessed, it's not sitting at Amazon US for $200, and instead is available for $349.99 (Amazon). That's a $150 price increase since it became available late last year, and another disheartening sign that the eye-watering SSD prices we've been witnessing over the past year have now got their claws into these Switch 2's already limited storage options.

I'm not the only one who has noticed these changes. 19 days ago, Reddit user dairy_free_bacon shared a screenshot from the GameStop storefront on r/Switch2 subreddit stating, "Anyone else notice that 1tb sd cards went up by $100??" They explained that they had previously bought the GameStop-branded 1TB microSD Express card for $199, and it's now listed for $299.99 instead, the price that it still sticks to today.

The comments of this post were ablaze with the reasoning behind this dramatic increase, and plenty of Switch 2 owners seem to have come to the same conclusion I have - that the RAMpocalypse has claimed another victim. User pikachuyann replied to the post stating, "The "RAM price crisis" doesn't affect only RAM, but all sorts of storage too," and I believe they're bang on the money, though I'm definitely not happy about it.

You see, microSD Express Cards don't function like older SD Cards. These newer, speedier Switch 2 accessories have hung up the standard UHS-I interface that powered your older Switch's storage and utilize a PCIe interface with an NVMe protocol instead, much like the solid-state drives you pop into your gaming PC. That's how they manage to provide lightning-fast speeds up to 890MB/s read & up to 810MB/s write like that of the 1TB PNY microSD Express Card I picked out earlier, compared to up to 100MB/s of alternatives like the $189.99 (Amazon) 1TB Amazon Basics microSDXC card.

If the storage crisis has already got M.2 SSDs in its midst, it makes entire sense why microSD Express Cards would also be affected. The correlation feels even more accurate when you remember that Sony announced during March of this year that it was suspending orders of its CFexpress memory cards and SD memory cards "due to the global shortage of semiconductors (memory) and other factors." When I originally covered that news, prices of Switch 2 SD cards were unaffected, but it seems the dwindling supply of DRAM and NAND storage may have finally taken its toll.

As of writing, you can still grab the officially licenced cards from Samsung and SanDisk that even feature some Super Mario art and provide an extra 256GB, which is plenty for Final Fantasy 14 when it launches on August 4, 2026. However, if you wanted to pick up 1TB just to be extra cautious for any patch updates and other Switch 2 releases, you're going to have to pay a pretty price, and I fully expect them to get even more expensive in the months to come.

As an alternative, I recommend sticking with a 256GB or 512GB model. Their prices have also been up and down, you can generally find brands sticking to their MSRP in most instances, especially if you grab options like the Samsung 256GB microSD Express card, which has even experienced discounts during sales events like Amazon's Prime Day. While you always receive a little less than stipulated, the combined 512GB is plenty for Final Fantasy 14, and further upcoming releases like Pokemon Pokopia's Bubbly Basin DLC and Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave.

I'd just grab any Switch 2 SD card sooner rather than later. As we've discovered, no storage is seemingly safe from the ongoing RAM Storage Crisis, even that of the lower-end capacity cards. Though I'll keep my fingers crossed that they won't go the way of the 1TB models and that of the Nintendo Switch 2, which is receiving a price increase of its own this coming September.

Pokémon just announced that we can expect to dive into Pokopia's Bubbly Basin DLC on August 5, and my first thought was: can I grab some more Ditto-themed accessories in time?

I currently have a pair of unofficial yet remarkably cute Ditto thumb grips on my Joy-Cons, but I'd much rather have Hori's Ditto-themed goodies in my collection instead. The brand has a Ditto Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller and a Ditto Compact Carry All available starting from £34.99 on Amazon, and they just so happen to release on August 6, a day after the DLC. So the answer is yes, I can grab some more Ditto accessories, but I'll have to wait one full day until I can fully transform my setup into one that feels more befitting of the iconic pink-purple Pokémon.

I'm sure I can wait, as these official accessories are plenty adorable and look to be worth it. I've had my eyes on the Compact Carry All ever since it was officially announced on June 19 by Hori of Japan on its official X (Twitter) page, and I have a feeling I'm not alone. In the US, this case, which can store the Nintendo Switch 2, its dock, and some extra accessories including the official Joy-Con controller grip, the handheld's HDMI cable and AC adapter, is sold out across retailers like Walmart, Best Buy and Amazon.

Fortunately, here in the UK, pre-orders are still available for the £34.99 (Amazon) case. However, I'm about to add it to my online basket as soon as possible, just in case stock starts to dwindle here too. At least it's not a similar situation with the matching Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller. It's available for £54.99 (Amazon) / $64.99 (Amazon) here in the UK and in the US, and there seems to be no stock shortages of the gamepad and its funky arcade-floor-like Ditto design.

As a HORIPAD Turbo controller, the pad comes with TMR sticks like previous models, and there are even back buttons featuring little Ditto too. Where it doesn't quite measure up to the best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers is that it only includes 10 hours of battery life. I have a feeling I'll be spending more than just 10 hours of my time exploring Bubbly Basin and all the new Pokémon hiding within its many habitats, so that's a little disappointing. At least it has a USB-C port for easy charging for when I need to give it more juice, and I always have 8BitDo Ultimate 2 on me for when I need a pad that lasts a little longer.

Colorful PS5 console covers are pretty commonplace, and Sony has even churned out a few based on games like Ghost of Yotei. But officially licensed covers sporting art of iconic anime characters aren't quite as widespread. Want the likes of Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, and Piccolo on your console? This Dragon Ball Z Silicone Cover for the Disc Edition PS5 Slim by FRTEC has you covered.

The brand behind the £29.99 (Argos) accessory has created some of the best PS5 accessories for Dragon Ball fans in the past. I even own a pair of their official Dragon Ball thumb grips that transform the classic 4-star ball into a comfortable add-on for my plain and boring DualSense. This silicone case entirely slipped me by when it released in March earlier this year, however. It's not a typical set that you can swap with the default white chassis, but a silicone cover that wraps around the console as is, and as big a Dragon Ball fan as I am, I can't tell if I love or hate it - but I'm glad it exists.

The variety of console covers is pretty lacking throughout the PS5's almost 6-year lifespan. Right now, if you were to pop onto the official PS Direct storefront, you could choose between the three Hyperpop collection color combos, the Ghost of Yotei set I referenced above, and a couple of other colorways, but there's nothing for anime fans.

Third-party brands have plenty, but in a world where Gen AI images are running rampant, I'd rather not accidentally invest in a set of covers for my PS5 only for them to arrive and have Goku sporting 6 fingers.

Where I'm hesitant is that I'm not the biggest fan of how it looks. If I were tasked with designing the Dragon Ball accessory, I'd likely not have chosen to re-use the same Super Saiyan 2 Gohan art we've seen time and time again.

A Capsule Corp look, making the PS5 look like a contraption Bulma had conjured up in her spare time, would have felt more suiting. However, I'd take seeing Gohan's shining yellow Saiyan hairdo over having no official Dragon Ball PS5 covers at all. At least FRTEC ensured to include my boy Shenron at the back, which is a pretty neat addition as the brand could have easily left it blank instead.

I'm a little uneasy that it's a silicone casing rather than a traditional cover, as there's the chance that extra dust and grime can get stuck in its crevices. Not to mention, it could insulate the console if a vent or port got accidentally covered.

Regrettably, I can't even pick it up to try it out for size as it's only compatible with the Disc Edition PS5 Slim. I'm still sporting the chonky old launch model console, so when Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 launches sometime next year, I'll have to stick with my Dbrand Spider-Man inspired covers instead. If you're based in the US, you'll sadly have to do the same, as I haven't managed to find these available across the pond.

That being said, a range of FRTEC's anime goodies are available starting from $24.99 at Amazon in the US, including a Dragon Ball case for the PS5 DualSense controller, if you're eager to show off your love of Goku and friends.

Razer is on a roll with its new cute releases, from its Pokemon Espeon and Umbreon Collection to its Pikachu and Eevee Collection - but now it's got Sanrio Edition keycaps out in the wild.

The new Sanrio Edition Razer Keycap Blind Box set was originally unveiled on Razer's community blog on July 12, 2026, but a new X (Twitter) post now reveals that it's available at Target stores in the US. These keycaps feature five designs of Hello Kitty and friends and can be swapped for your ESC key to inject it with that 'cute and cozy' factor. Only if you're okay with pressing a large replica of Sanrio's top mascot characters over the far easier-to-press original key of your gaming board.

Cute keycaps aren't exactly a new phenomenon. If you're as chronically online and immersed in the 'cute and cozy' world of gaming builds as I am, you've likely seen plenty of videos of them in the past and have been contemplating adding them to one of the best gaming keyboards you've got in your setup. However, these cute keycaps in particular include the likes of Hello Kitty and my personal favorite Sanrio character, Kuromi, holding real-life Razer tech.

While Razer doesn't state exactly what each character has amongst the palm of their paws, I could spot the white model Razer BlackShark V2 Pro that's perched on Cinnamoroll's head from a while away. It also appears that Pompompurin has managed to get his hands on the white model Razer Wolverine V3 controller. It's hard to decipher what laptop Kuromi has her hands on, but I at least hope she's got the Razer Blade 16, which currently sits on our best gaming laptops guide.

These keycaps are designed to fit MX cross-stem switches, which include the likes of the Razer BlackWidow V4 line-up. Their pricing hasn't yet been unveiled so I can't let you know what you can expect to fork out for these cute bling bags. However, if you're heading to a local Target near you to grab a few bags regardless, do make sure to check what board you have first to ensure it's compatible before spending a fortune on these randomized keycaps.

Talking of which, as you'd likely already surmised by now, they're available in blind boxes and cannot be purchased as a set. You have your "chance" to unbox one of the five designs and a secret chrome variant, which appears in one out of every 24 boxes, according to Razer. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of blind boxes, as you don't know what you're buying. There's every chance you could end up with just five Kuromi keycaps, and as much as I adore her, there is such a thing as too much Kuromi.

If you're in the same boat, you could alternatively grab Razer's Sanrio accessories from its Hello Kitty and Friends lineup starting from $27.99 at Amazon, no blind boxes included.

I've spent over a year getting deep, down, and dirty with a smorgasbord of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, but the Lululook Gaming Pillow Stand might be the weirdest I've tested so far.

This big boy (and trust me, it's pretty big) is a $64.99 (Amazon) stand that can suspend your handheld while providing a place to put your phone, and a few handfuls of crisps should you be peckish for some carbohydrates. Rather than being a device that hooks onto your bedside table, which I use frequently alongside my iPad for catching up with Netflix in bed, this stand is attached to a large padded pillow which you can place directly on your lap.

Curling up with my Switch 2 under the covers is my favorite pastime, and this Lululook accessory has made it considerably more enjoyable. That being said, its full price is on par with new Switch 2 games, which might be an understandably hard sell for many. Fortunately, it's at least down to £64.99 at Amazon in the UK right now, which makes me slightly more comfortable with recommending it today if you too love nothing more than getting cozy in bed with your Ninty handheld.

I've mentioned it a few times in my past accessory write-ups, but I have something called hypothyroidism. One of the main symptoms of the illness is joint pain, which I get predominantly in my knees, wrists, and fingers. As you can imagine, it makes gaming a sometimes painful experience (and not just when I frequently lose a match in Marvel Rivals), but during the past few weeks, I've been able to take the pressure off my wrists by using this Switch 2 pillow.

The Switch 2 isn't as notoriously heavy as the best gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck OLD, but any time I can negate a bit of its weight off my wrists is an opportunity I'm going to take full advantage of. This accessory allows just that, and I've had a far nicer time only having to put up with the weight of the Joy-Cons and not the console as a whole. I know it's not designed as an accessibility aid, but I appreciate that it can be one, and one I'm going to continue to rely on during all future pain flare-ups.

While taking the pillow out for a spin, I had less achy wrists and games like Pokemon Pokopia at eye level while cozied up in my duvet's warm embrace, and it was pretty sweet. The stand is so lightweight that I barely felt it on my achy legs either, and it was just as comfortable to play on the sofa, especially as I didn't have to crank my neck to look up at my TV.

The only big part of the pillow I didn't resonate with (besides its price) was its bowl. There's a little ridge just above it that's handy for keeping your smartphone upright, which I appreciated as a tool to easily look at Pokopia guides. Yet the bowl always felt like it was trying to coerce me into mindlessly snacking. There's nothing in the brand's marketing spiel that suggests you have to use it to store 'unhealthy' snacks, but the marketing images do include crisps, which is a bit annoying when I'm actively trying not to mindlessly game and snack at the same time.

I imagine anyone with a healthier relationship to food would probably find the bowl pretty neat, but I wasn't a fan. I ended up using it to store my Joy-Con controllers when I needed a break, and I advise anyone else to do the same who doesn't want to get into a habit of late-night snacking in bed. On a positive note, the bowl is at least really easy to clean. It features a large dial underneath that can be turned to unlock it from the foam padding so you can easily run it under the tap. It really feels like Lululook thought of everything - well, besides that some may not be comfortable with its eye-watering price tag.

All in all, this is not an accessory that I'd insist every Switch 2 player needs in their setup. But if you prefer handheld mode, love gaming in bed and don't already own a Switch 2 stand of any kind, it's a weird and wonderful gadget to have at your disposal. Hopefully it's £12 off in the UK right now should help make it a little more accessible too.

I'm not gonna make a splash by pretending that 13.1 GB is a lot of space. As it's simply not, especially when you consider that games like Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade demand 90.4 GB instead.

Yet, if your handheld is already struggling to make room, there's every chance you might want to make sure you have one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards in your corner. Savings of these speedy storage options pop up all the time, but the fluctuating costs of SSDs have had their effect on these cards too, making it hard to decipher what's actually a reasonable price worth grabbing.

I've waded my way through the sea of current discounted Switch 2 compatible cards and picked out the three I'd grab if I were looking for 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB worth of space. That way, you should be sorted when Splatoon Raiders launches on July 23, and for all the Switch 2 games that 2026 still has to bring to the surface.

The first wave of Switch 2 microSD Express Cards launched for $54.99 from Samsung and SanDisk and are usually the ones I recommend first and foremost. However, they very rarely budge from their $59.99 (Amazon) price tag, and so you're much better off settling for this PNY alternative instead if you want a bargain. That is, if you're okay going without the fancy Super Mario branding.

The PNY alternative I've listed first above provides the same additional 256GB worth of space. Not to mention that it boasts similar faster 890MB/s read and up to 750MB/s write speeds compared to the Samsung 256GB microSD Express Card's quoted 800 MB/s.

For those after a bit more, as of typing, PNY has also dropped $20 off the next capacity up - its 512GB card. Being able to add an extra 512GB to your Switch 2 for under the $100 mark is pretty unheard of these days, especially when alternatives like Lexar have their equivalent model for $199.99 at Amazon instead. Naturally, Lexar's version boasts higher speeds, but if you care more about sticking to your budget, the PNY option is one of the best ways to go today.

When it comes to grabbing 1TB for the Switch 2, the pricing situation is a little prickly. For example, I reviewed the 1TB PNY microSD Express Card earlier this year, and it launched for $199.99. It's currently sitting at $371.99 at Amazon, and I have a feeling that the rising costs of the best SSDs for gaming and the ongoing RAM storage crisis are to blame.

It's pretty challenging to find any 1TB options below the $300 mark in fact, which is little disconcerting. However, I did spot that the Lexar 1TB Play PRO microSD Express Card, which is as high as $349.99 at other retailers, is down to $314.95 at Best Buy instead. That's still a huge amount to spend on storage when it comes to the Switch 2. However, that $35 off option is one of the best I've found amongst the sea of 1TB cards out there.

Both collections include accessories like the Razer Kraken V4 X headset, which has hung up its plain all-black looks for imagery of the adorable Pokemon instead. Yet as stunning as its new purple starry Espeon and Umbreon or pastel pink Pikachu and Eevee look is, I wish that the best Razer headsets and other top-of-the-line accessories in the brand's back catalog got the same treatment.

These collections always revolve around existing Razer headsets, keyboards, mice and mouse mats, but they typically encompass products on the lower end of Razer's price range. That means that while you might be getting one of the cutest pairs of cups out there, you won't be getting the one with the best features - which is a shame given the extra $30 cost you're paying for the privilege of your headset looking fit for a Pokemon master.

Brands like Razer always have to factor in the licensing fee that's required whenever it produces new lines with big-name companies like The Pokemon Company. With that in mind, there is some sense in always utilizing its lower-end accessories for these kinds of collaborations. I can only speculate, but if I were Razer and I knew I had to factor in that extra $30 cost for each item regardless, I could understand wanting the products to be as appealing as possible, and that'd involve keeping prices low to make them more accessible to a wider range of fans.

If you take the Razer Kraken V4 X headset into consideration, it's normally priced at $79.99 at Amazon when there are no sales around. When you incorporate the extra $30 cost, that takes the pair up to $109.99, which is exactly how much you can expect to pay for both the Espeon and Umbreon and Pikachu and Eevee Razer headsets. However, if Razer were to incorporate one of the best gaming headsets in its back catalogue instead, like that of the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, it'd be a far higher price to contend with. The wireless headset has an MSRP of $249.99 (Amazon), which would mean fans would have to spend $279 for its own Pokemon makeover.

That price tag is likely one that would not appeal to passing fans of the franchise who just want cute accessories and don't care much for its specs. Or even parents of kids who are eager to please their kids with cute accessories featuring their favorite Pokemon but don't have the budget to spare on high-end accessories - particularly ones that little ones may not know how to take full advantage of. But I don't like to assume that people who yearn for cute accessories don't also care about specs - especially as I care about both, and I know I'm not alone.

In particular, I wish more feature-rich headsets were regularly part of these new collections. The pair frequently used by Razer for its Pokemon tech isn't bad by any means, but it's missing some key features that may not appeal to fans who care about substance as much as style.

The Razer Kraken V4 X carries the same Triforce 40mm audio drivers as past pairs like the Razer Barracuda X, a pair that frequently topped out best Nintendo Switch headset guides for years due to its quality. The brand's drivers enable a leveled sound that still makes games sound incredible regardless of which pair they're in. However, the V4 X is a wired-only headset, which makes it more limited compared to other Razer alternatives.

As someone with the Gengar Edition Razer Kraken Kitty V2 USB at my disposal, its wire gets tangled easily, and its USB-A connection makes it suited for PC platforms only. The Kraken V4 X fortunately comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, but you still have to put up with being tethered to a wire. I'd much rather prefer donning a cute headset on my head while experiencing the freedom of Bluetooth and 2.4GHz low-latency wireless, which is what you'd get if the BlackShark V3 Pro were selected for these new collections instead.

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro doesn't just have the option of a wired 3.5mm or USB connection, but you can utilize Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless too. It's also decked out with the brand's TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50mm Gen 2 audio drivers, which "entralled" our team's own Tabitha Baker in her review with how much space it conjured in its low end - a sound that many Pokemon fans would appreciate.

These limitations are just going to be apparent with the headsets chosen for these releases, but they're apparent with other accessories too. The Razer Cobra is the gaming rodent of choice when it comes to all of Razer's Pokemon sets, and it's a wired-only mouse that doesn't have all the bells and whistles of, say, the Razer Deathadder V4 Pro. Currently sitting as our best gaming mouse top pick, the Deathadder V4 Pro provides both wired and 2.4GHz connectivity options, includes Razer's Gen 4 optical switches over that of the Gen 3 found in the Cobra, and is even more lightweight at just 56g over the Cobra's 58g form factor.

It'd be incredibly neat if Razer chose a mouse like it, and options like the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, which joined our best gaming keyboard list last year, for their future Pokemon collaborations. That way, those who want to create a cute and cozy PC gaming setup don't have to feel inclined to settle for cheaper and less feature-full accessories.

It'd at least be nice to have the option as to what Razer accessories to add to your setup that are covered in cute Pokemon accessories instead. Razer even currently has a customizability option hidden amongst its online store, which could be perfect to utilize for just that purpose - pleasing those who are okay with budget-friendly accessories, and those who want something with beefier specs instead.

Within the Razer Customs page, you can select the Razer Orochi V2 mouse, Razer Gigantus V2 mousemat, and your smartphone to be bestilled with art from a selection of notable IPs that Razer has partnered with, including Squid Game, The Smurfs, Borderlands 4, and even art and designs from VTuber Iron Mouse. Pokemon is notably absent from the customization process, but its inclusion, along with a larger range of Razer gaming products, could be a great way to appeal to a wider selection of Pokemon and hardware fans.

Of course, it'd be entirely dependent on whether The Pokemon Company and Razer would agree to slapping Pikachu, Eevee, Gengar, and the Eevee evolutions across a wider variety of products, rather than the ones that are chosen time and time again. I can only speculate, but there's every chance that the Razer Cobra mouse or the Razer Kraken V4 X appear time and time again, as they're the only products allowed to be chosen for these collaborations.

In the meantime, by the time Razer announces its fifth Pokemon partnership, I hope I have a chance to pick up a headset that is dripping not just in cuteness the kind of impressive specs my PC gaming setup yearns for.

Nintendo has hundreds upon thousands of hardware patents up its sleeve.

Not all of these come to fruition, but I'm totally on board with the one published in China that was discovered by the aptly named Nintendo Patent Watch on BlueSky, which pertains to a dock for the Nintendo Switch 2 that is also compatible with the older Switch handheld.

As it stands, the official dock packaged with every Switch 2 handheld is not compatible with the older console, as its power output is only adapted to suit the newer console. If you want to play your original Switch on the big screen, you have to go old-school and dig out your dock instead. However, according to Nintendo Patent Watch, this dock can recognize which of the consoles it's connected to and act accordingly - something we've not yet seen in a first or third-party accessory so far.

For a dock to accommodate both handhelds, there's a more to consider than what the average best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories have to deal with. Nintendo Patents Watch reiterates this in their BlueSky thread: while the original device's dock features a standard USB 2 alongside a lower-res video output and a lower-fan RPM (Rotations Per Minute) to keep its internals nice and cool, the Switch 2 dock is a bit beefier.

The Nintendo Switch 2 dock uses USB 3, can output in 4K, and has a higher fan RPM. There're also the power differences, which is notably why the Switch 2 dock is not currently compatible with the older console. As it stands, the Switch 2 has a power delivery of up to 60W, while the original handheld requires 18W, so there's a lot at stake and likely why we didn't get a backwards-compatible version at launch.

Like plenty of other hardware patents, likely nothing will ever come of this. Brands like Nintendo and, more recently, Sony PlayStation with its bizarre joystick controller patent like to publish patents all the time with no end product in sight. While we can only speculate, these patents very likely have less to do with creating new products for one of the best gaming handhelds and more to do with cultivating a "we won't make one but you can't either" approach to prevent third-party brands from thinking of it first.

Personally, I'd at least like the opportunity to dock both devices in the future, even if it seems like a pretty redundant accessory given the Switch 2's masterful backwards compatibility. Even with the Switch 2 versions in tow, some games like The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom just look better on an OLED Switch's display, but having the plug socket real estate to set up both devices is a bit of a pain.

Yet while this new dock might not ever come to fruition, Nintendo Patents Watch states the drawings included in the filing help "settle a debate among Nintendo hardware enthusiasts." According to them, the illustrations show a setup where a "fan (#23 in img 1) takes in air from opening 21F. The air flows over the dock’s circuitboard 22, enters the console from the bottom opening 30B, and exits from the top opening 30C", which suggests the Switch 2 dock fan does in fact cool both the dock and the handheld. I'll take that new factoid over no new shiny universal dock.

PowerA of Japan unveiled on its official X (Twitter) page on July 15, 2026, that a new clamshell case themed around Splatoon Raiders is coming ashore. A case where every drop has had the utmost care put into its design, inside and out.

The $18.85 (Amazon Japan) accessory features the official box art from the upcoming game, which isn't that exciting. Plenty of other brands, like Keys Factory, are also releasing a wealth of accessories using the exact imagery. But while its exterior design might not stand out amongst plenty of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases I've tested so far, it's the matching green and orange interior that I'm happy to see after dealing with a sea of plain alternatives over the years.

I've owned a lot of cases for my original Nintendo Switch, but they all relied on all-black interiors. This was always a bit disappointing, especially as it felt cheap to bear witness to the dull design when the exterior was always flashy and appealing.

The inside of the best Nintendo Switch cases is never going to be as important as the outside, as ideally that's what people see when you take your handheld out and about. Yet, I always felt a bit cheated when I bought a flashy new licensed case, often ones which are priced higher than the plain alternatives, only for its inside to be absent of any attention in the design department. Yet, this new Switch 2 case generation has started to give me hope of a flashier future.

Take this Slim Case by PowerA, for example. The brand could have easily resorted to a boring interior, but instead it chose to take advantage of the orange and turquoise green color palette of the Splatoon Raiders art and match that on the inside. The lining of the case features the same bright orange coloring of the art and the upcoming game's logo, and even that little game storage flap hasn't been forgotten, as it's sporting a turquoise green colorway. This case can be folded to act as a makeshift stand, so it makes sense for the inside to get just as much attention, but it's great to see it get vital attention nonetheless.

PowerA isn't the only brand to starting to give more care to the design choices of its cases. I was disappointed that the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu Vault Case I reviewed earlier this year had a black bottom interior. However, the brand ensured the accessories pocket and the game storage at least matched the same pastel purple found throughout the outside of the case.

The brand's Switch 2 cases have only improved from there. Hori's upcoming Kuromi and Cinnamoroll Switch 2 cases don't just include lining that replicates the bright pastel designs found throughout the new Sanrio accessories. Instead, they go all out by incorporating fabric that includes art of the same set of tasty treats - from cakes and ice cream - as are dotted around the main front-facing part of the cases.

Not all licenced accessories are made the same. However, the trend of ensuring every inch of these products feels just as well-thought out as the exterior is one I can't wait to see continue as we dive deeper into the Switch 2's lifespan. In the meantime, if you want to make a splash with this upcoming PowerA Splatoon Raiders Slim Case, it's expected to drop on November 30, 2026.

So far, it's only available at Amazon Japan. Yet with the game launching in a matter of days (July 23, 2026), I can only imagine it won't be long until we see Amazon US and UK bursting at the seams with the same ink-credible Splatoon Raiders goodies.

Hori isn't the only brand out there making the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories with access to official licenses to create products based on Nintendo properties like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and naturally, Super Mario. You've got Turtle Beach and PowerA to contend with too. It is, however, behind some of my favorite official accessories released since the Switch 2 came into existence.

The brand has been consistently releasing cases, controllers, and even grip controllers since the original Switch console era, but the slew of Switch 2 accessories is some of the most adorable and uniquely designed in the brand's lineup. While others tend to focus on re-using old Nintendo key art as found on a range of past products, Hori consistently gets its hands on unique art that makes its products stand out from the rest.

Every inch of these products tends to have care put into its design, including matching colored interiors and even zippers in the shape of the Pokemon they're based on, like the upcoming Ditto Carry All Case. Naturally, these officially licensed goodies are priced higher than their plain Hori counterparts, and in the case of the controllers, they can sometimes be missing the impressive battery and NFC-reading tech found with Pro controller alternatives. But the robust build quality of the spooky and adorable Gengar and Mimikyu Vault Case, or the brand's adorably dainty Eevee Cottage Core Puff Pouch, are proof that it's not all style over substance.

Game card cases are a very niche accessory. No one actually needs one, especially as many of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases include storage for plenty of physical game carts. However, I love Hori's trend to launch these niche extras alongside their collections, like this 24 Game Card Case, which is part of the Gengar and Mimikyu line-up of accessories.

It's small and compact enough to fit into practically every purse and handbag I own, and its transparent chassis is a nostalgia-fueled reminder of my translucent Game Boy Color I used to play the original Pokemon games back in the 90s. I'm also a huge fan of the fact that the design of the case matches perfectly with the Gengar and Mimikyu Vault Case, so if you have both, you can better unify your setup. As a spooky ghost-type fan, this little case is as cute as it gets.

Eevee Cottage Core Switch 2 Puff Pouch

I'm always going to prefer hardshell cases first and foremost as they offer the most protection for my pricey Ninty tech. However, the Eevee Cottage Core Puff Pouch case is so sickeningly cute that I've used it plenty to carry my handheld around the house or to a nearby friend's abode.

That's all thanks to its adorable design, which features a cream colored background with dainty illustrations of Eevee throughout. It reminds me of a picnic basket, which feels very on-brand for a line with "cottage core" in the name.

The Puff Pouch is also pretty deceiving in the best possible way, as it can pack in far more than you'd expect. I can fit my Switch 2, six physical games, and even my official AC adapter and charging cable. In fact, I've even used mine to store my Gengar and Mimikyu Game Card Case too, which is too big for other slimline cases.

Hori has been the brand to watch as far as it comes to pumping out the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories for Pokemon fans, but these new Pixel Art designs are more fabulous than I could have imagined.

The line-up was announced by Hori on July 22 on the brand's official X (Twitter) page and includes two Switch 2 cases, Game Card cases, and two matching HORIPAD Turbo wireless controllers. What makes these special is that they aren't just coated in boring repurposed Pokemon art, but this line is going for a retro appeal, sporting pixel sprite designs that have won me over with their nostalgia alone.

For you fire-type fans, there's a trio of Pokemon Pixel Red goodies listed on Amazon right now, including a Hori Pokemon Pixel Red Adventure Pack. The case itself isn't new, as I took a look at the Gengar and Mimikyu Adventure Pack previously, which is the same model but for Ghost-type fanatics.

Just like other incarnations of the case, you've got space for the handheld, up to 6 games, and smaller accessories. There's also a set of two straps and clasps that allow you to wear the case around your waist, or across your chest if you're so inclined.

What separates this from other versions is that it carries a red and brown color palette and adorable sprite art depictions of Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard on the front.

This isn't all Hori wrote for fire fans either, as you can find the same bunch of nostalgia-inducing pixels on the matching Pokemon Fire Red Game Card case, which even carries a glittery chassis for that extra bit of pizazz.

I have a burning inclination that fire-type fans may appreciate the Pokemon Pixel Red Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller even more than the case that can store up to 24 games. The wireless pad has a transparent black and red chassis, which features sprites of not just Charizard, but Aerodactyl, Arcanine, and Marowak too - despite not being fire types at all.

As a Horipad Turbo, the specs of the pad are a little lacklustre (it only has a 10-hour battery life), but the red-coloured mechanics that shine through the faceplate remind me of the cracked earth of Cinnabar Island, which feels perfectly on brand for a Gen I inspired Switch 2 accessory. For those that need a reminder, that's the town where you fight gym leader Blaine and his fiery team of Pokemon in the original games.

Grass-type fans will be happy to know that there's also a Pokemon Pixel Green Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller on its way too, where Bulbasaur is the star of the show. It matches perfectly with the Hori Pokemon Pixel Green Puff Pouch, which is available alongside a matching Game Card Case that is just as glittery as its fire-type counterpart.

While these accessories appear to be inspired by Kanto and Generation I, some of the pixel art actually alludes to a different set of Pokemon games entirely. Eagle-eyed (or should I say, Braviary-eyed) fans might spot that the Pokemon Center as found printed on the Pixel Green controller has a rounded roof. This design more closely resembles the one you use in the Hoenn generation (Generation III), rather than the flat-roof version found in the original games and the Fire Red and Leaf Green remakes.

Before you get too excited, I don't think this alludes to an unannounced port of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald popping onto Nintendo Switch Online any time soon. Rather, it's likely an indication that these accessories are based on the older era of Pokemon as a whole, rather than any specific releases.

Whatever their inspirations, I can't wait until the launch of these nostalgia-inducing Switch 2 accessories. So far in the US, plenty of them are listed as "currently unavailable" at US retailers like Amazon. However, the odd item like the Pixel Red Hori 24 Game Card Case is already available to purchase for $12.99 at Best Buy. You may have to shop around if you're based in the US to grab a complete set, but UK Pokemon fans have it a little easier as the range is available starting from £11.99 at Amazon and is expected to launch on August 15, 2026.

Belkin used to be a brand that, for me, felt synonymous with phone accessories. But now I relate the six-letter name solely to providing me with options to manage the Nintendo Switch 2's horrendous battery life.

First, it achieved this with the Belkin Charging Case, one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories I've tested to date. It encompasses a case with a 10,000mAh power bank included inside that allows you to carry and charge your handheld on the go. This was followed up by a Pro model, so it felt a bit inevitable that the brand would have its sights set on incorporating its handy charging prowess into a Switch 2 Grip case.

The end result sadly isn't perfect. The aforementioned power bank creates an uncomfortable dynamic. Its weight can add some strain that makes me feel like I'm playing the Steam Deck OLED, a handheld I deliberately don't use as much as I'd like to due to its chonky form factor. That, combined with the fact that this accessory is pretty pricey and not compatible with any of the brand's cases, adds extra layers of annoyance to an otherwise solid piece of Nintendo-compatible tech.

Design

The Belkin Charging Grip is composed of four pieces: two ergonomic handles for either Joy-Con, a section that attaches to the base of the console, and a 30W 10000mAh power bank that magnetically attaches to that.

I was provided with the Olive colorway, so all of these pieces arrived to me in a matcha-green shade, but it's also available in Black and Lilac colors if green isn't your thing. Strangely, Belkin chose not to match the color ranges available to the Belkin Charging Case Pro and the rest of its Switch 2 case lineup, which feels like a missed opportunity. However, I'm thankful to see any variation at all when plain all-black grips, like that as part of the Fastnsnail Switch 2 Protective Case, are all too common.

It also helps the Belkin grip stand out, as no matter the brand, grip cases tend to all look a little similar. You should at least be able to tell Belkin's apart from alternatives besides its unique colorways, as its design is sleeker than I've seen before. When attached, the two Joy-Con handles don't sit across the entirety of the gamepads, and instead start at the mid-way section of the right stick and ABXY buttons on the other side. They then hang to the bottom of the controllers, giving them a more Switch 2 Pro Controller look and feel.

Features

The main section of the Belkin Charging Grip is pretty basic. It's a surprisingly thin piece of plastic that hangs to the back of the handheld's 7.9-inch display, providing cut-out sections to ensure all the vents and ports can be accessed properly. It also allows full use of the handheld's kickstand, which is all pretty run-of-the-mill and what you'd want for one of these case and grip combo accessories.

Yet, it's what's hanging on the back that makes it special, and why it's got that $99.99 / £69.99 price tag. The back of this accessory is designed to host a power bank, which attaches magnetically. If you've ever used MagSafe phone accessories, it's a similar process; however, the case also includes four small recessed cylindrical-shaped modules that match with four small prongs sticking out of the charger to ensure that it stays put when attached.

The 10000mAh power bank in question includes an LCD window which shows you its remaining battery when you press the small button on its side. Additionally, it features a small USB-C cable which is hidden on the side that stays flush with the handheld. You can keep it hidden or connect it to give your console 1.5x worth of extra juice while gaming on the go - or when you're in the main room of your house and can't be bothered to source your AC adapter (a scenario I find myself in fairly often).

Performance

Traditional grip cases (Belkin calls this a "Charging Grip" but it's basically a grip case) are there to give your handheld some added protection, while adding some ergonomic flair to the uncomfortable flat-backs of the Joy-Cons. By incorporating a 30W 10000mAh battery into the mix, things get a little heavy, which is not ideal.

Throughout my weeks of testing, I was playing plenty of Star Fox and later, Rhythm Paradise Groove, and ended up having to play both while leaning the bottom of the Switch 2 against my lap. An experience that's the norm when it comes to playing my Steam Deck, but not one I admire. I normally play my Switch 2 while it's hovering in the air as it's light and comfortable enough to do so, but the weight of the power bank was constantly pulling my hands down. Any attempt to fight against it was not a feeling I wanted to persist on my wrists.

I believe that's exactly why Belkin chose not to have the power bank attached by default, but instead included a magnetic mechanism. With that in tow, it means you don't have to have it attached at all times and give your wrists a break. Which is exactly what I did during my time testing this device.

After the few short 20 minutes it took to take my handheld's power from 60 to 100% charged, I simply pulled it off and set it aside. Much to my chagrin, none of the official Belkin Switch 2 cases are compatible with the Charging Grip and provide a safe place to store the powerbank. However, it was reassuring to know that you don't have to deal with the weight conundrum at all times if you don't want to.

At least the experience of using the Charging Grip when you don't factor in the weight is pretty grand. The handles are very comfortable and felt natural in the palm of my hands. Their textured surface was also grippy enough that it never slipped even during the most intense moments of Rhythm Paradise Groove (onion shaving is no joke) and yet not too grippy that it roughhoused the surface of my hands.

I'm also a huge fan of the fact that you don't need to leave the small USB-C charging cable hanging if you do decide to have the powerbank attached. The underside of the charger includes a hidden section designed to hide the cable, and works just as intended.

Should you buy the Belkin Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2?

The Belkin Charging Grip for the Nintendo Switch 2 seems like a pretty basic idea: it's essentially a power bank and grip case combined into one. Yet despite its simplicity, the brand has yet again managed to provide a robust and great-looking solution to dealing with the handheld's measly battery life, though it's definitely far from perfect.

Anyone who loves the Switch 2 for its lightweight experience compared to the best handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED is not going to appreciate how heavy the case can become. And it feels like an oversight to design a Charging Grip which, when attached, is too big to store in any of the existing Belkin Switch 2 cases. If you have the Belkin Charging Case Pro, you have to take off the grips and power bank every time you want to store it away. And even then, the accessory pocket is not equipped to store those pieces.

I assume Belkin has plans to one day release a case that incorporates the best design elements of this Charging Grip and its Charging Case line, especially as review comments on the official Belkin website have consumers referencing the same issue. Belkin's Customer Service has stated at the time of this review that it has "taken note of it" in reply to user Ns2geek, so hopefully it's a sign of a new Grip Case mashup to come.

How I tested the Belkin Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2

I spent over two weeks with the Belkin Charging Grip, where it became my accessory of choice for the entirety of that testing time. With the Olive version attached to my handheld, I used it while playing a huge range of games, from Star Fox, Rhythm Paradise Groove, Mario Kart World, Pokemon Pokopia, and Donkey Kong Bananza.

By testing a wide range of titles, I got a feel for how the ergonomic handle attachments felt to play in handheld mode, while having ample opportunity to rely on the power bank to power my Switch 2. Additionally, I also took out the Belkin Charging Case Pro to see if the pieces of the Charging Grip were compatible and could be stored within the brand's own case. My colleagues and I have gone looking for DK's coolest collectibles in honor of the event, and you'll find them all below. These range from t-shirts to contenders for the best toys crown. Crucially, they've been chosen based on our own experience or because they're the coolest-looking, most highly-rated goodies available online. I'd like to think I would know. DK's been one of my favorite Nintendo characters since the early '90s when I played Donkey Kong Country on SNES (it's the first series I actively went out of my way to buy), so I've got some pretty strong feelings about what you should prioritize when it comes to the best Donkey Kong merch. As an example, I'll always point fans toward amiibo first and foremost. These highly detailed figures may be designed to work as Switch/Switch 2 accessories that provide in-game bonuses, but they're gorgeous statuettes in their own right (like my current favorite, the DK and Pauline design you can find at Best Buy). In other words, they're the perfect addition to any shelf even if you never use them with the consoles. Similarly, I adore this heavily themed baseball cap currently on the Nintendo Store. Besides being an eye-catching shade that's reminiscent of DK's jungle home, it features 3D bananas and Kong letter collectibles just like in the game. It's a fun touch that brings back memories, and that's what I think the best Donkey Kong merch should do.

The official Star Fox Mousepad felt like a no-brainer purchase.

I've loved barrel-rolling my way through the new game on the Switch 2, and wanted to try out the mouse controls on something other than my sofa cushion. Better yet, it wasn't even technically 'purchased' in the traditional sense like the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories often are, as I only had to spare 500 of my precious Platinum Points to make it mine.

And yet, I wish I had saved up my points for something else, as this is one cheap-feeling mousepad. I can already hear many of you all saying, "Well, it was free, what did you expect?" and that's fair to say. But I was at least expecting something that felt pleasant to "pilot my Joy-Con" across like Nintendo intended, and not what I got.

The Nintendo UK store advertises the mousepad being used alongside a typical PC setup, but I wouldn't recommend that either.

I'm currently using the ASUS TUF Gaming Hatsune Miku Edition Mini Wireless Mouse, which includes a 12,000-dpi optical sensor and glides effortlessly through any gaming mat I've thrown its way. Yet the "rough top" layer of the Star Fox version feels unpleasant and results in plenty of misclicks due to its plastic and slippery surface.

Instead of feeling like my little anime mouse was gliding across the desk like a little ballerina, I constantly felt it slipping out from beneath my grasp. This should have been an indication of things to come, but I decided to remain optimistic that a Star Fox mousepad designed for Star Fox couldn't be all that bad. How wrong I was.

The accessory is made up of a cheap-feeling plastic, like the mouse mats that you used to be able to buy throughout the late 1990's. You remember them, right? They'd often feature Homer Simpson's face and some philosophical quote of his, and were packaged as Father's Day gifts and stocking fillers.

This one feels worse than any of those. It's the opposite of dense and utilizes a paper-thin synthetic rubber underlayer rather than an anti-slip rubber base that you'd typically want in a gaming mat. Which, as you can imagine, does little to stop it from moving around unprompted.

If you thought fighting Team Star Wolf on Venom was tricky with the standard controls, using mouse controls on this cheap mat was something else entirely. The little rubber stops at the bottom of the Switch 2 Joy-Con straps at least helped keep the controller from running amok like my gaming mouse, but it was not a great-feeling experience.

In all fairness, fighting Star Wolf never is. But I had my hopes high that the mousemat would at least add an extra layer of fun to the fight that has haunted my nightmares since my childhood. Instead, it made it all the more headache-inducing, with the thinness of the mat feeling like I was scrolling my Joy-Con across a bare table, and I barely managed to take down Andrew, Leon, or Pigma, never mind Star Wolf.

It at least didn't move too much, which was a blessing. That was, unless I made the grave error of lightly brushing the side of my hand gently across Peppy's printed face, as then the entire thing would start slipping across my desk like it had a mind of its own.

It's a shame, as I really like the idea of the Nintendo Switch Online rewards being accessories that you can actually use alongside new Switch 2 games, rather than boring bits of stationery with Nintendo characters' faces on them. There's also so few new pieces of Star Fox merchandise out there, that this mousemat (and the plushies expected to drop later this year) are pretty much all we've got.

Taking that into account is why I don't judge anyone who reads this and still chooses to spend their hard-earned points on this Star Fox mousepad. When there's little merch out there to grab, securing a free item makes complete sense. However, I recommend keeping this as a display piece and sticking with traditional gaming mats by brands like Razer and SteelSeries, rather than piloting the Airwing across this cheap bit of Star Fox-branded tat.

Over the weekend, my brother-in-law caught a glimpse of my Switch 2 case, and his interest was piqued. That's not at all surprising, as my family knows I write about and review the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, and the general thought is that if I'm using something regularly, there must be something intriguing about it. In this case, he and the rest of my family were right to be interested, as I was using the Belkin Charging Case Pro.

It remains the best case I've ever tested, and one of those accessories that I love showing people as its built-in 10,000mAh powerbank always gets a "woah" reaction every time. My brother-in-law had a similar reaction and asked for a full low-down on Belkin's spread of Switch 2 cases to know which was best suited for his needs, and it gave me a thought - I should do a rundown for anyone else who needs it.

There are only three Belkin Switch 2 cases so far, so it won't take too long to go through the lot. Yet, if you were curious as to what separates each case, and whether they suit your budget and playing style, I've included a spread as to what makes each so special down below.

Belkin Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $29.99 (Amazon) / £17.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Carrying Case is the least feature-full of the trio, and yet it's still a robust, high-quality accessory. If you like the look of the Belkin cases but don't need any fancy charging tech, and especially don't have the budget to facilitate it, this is the best option for you as it's only priced at $29.99 and £17.99 in the US and UK. It's prone to plenty of discounts throughout the year too.

This case is available in all three Black, Sage, and Sand colorways as the rest of the line, and includes the same clamshell design with a polyester exterior and the subtle 'Belkin' branding on the front. On the interior, you can find space to store the Nintendo Switch 2, a slab of fabric in the middle to protect the handheld's display and provide storage for up to 12 physical games, and a fabric mesh pocket for smaller accessories.

What separated the case from others upon release was that it included a secret Apple AirTag pocket. You can use this pocket to slip in the GPS tracker, and any other branded one that fits, in order to keep better track of your pricey Ninty tech while traveling - a neat addition that other brands still don't take advantage of.

Belkin Charging Case for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $69.99 (Amazon) / £49.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Charging Case is where things get a little more interesting. On the outside, it looks practically identical to the Belkin Carrying Case, and even comes in the same range of colors. However, this case is far thicker and that's to make room for the 10,000mAh power bank that lies inside it.

On the bottom of the case, you can find a black power bank, which is designed to hook up to your handheld so you can keep it juiced up on the go. You can actually have the case fully zipped up, and the moulded interior provides ample space for its charging cable to feed into your console, so you can provide an up to 1.5x charge when you need it. The power bank in question is secured in place with a velcro strap, but you can remove it if you want to take it out and use it to charge up other compatible devices - I've used mine plenty to give my phone a boost.

When this case was first unveiled, it felt revolutionary, as the Switch 2's measly battery life is my bigger hindrance with the console. I always pop my handheld back in its case between gaming sessions regardless, yet now I can do that and feel at ease knowing it's getting powered up in the process. The only annoyance is that charging the power bank is a bit fiddly, as you need to physically remove it from the case.

Its $69.99 / £49.99 price might also be hard to stomach for many, as that's a lot to fork out for a case alone. It only gets worse from there, as the Charging Case Pro model costs even more. For that reason alone, I typically still recommend this version over my personal best Nintendo Switch 2 case pick, as this case still gives you access to charging on the go, just at a more digestible price point.

Belkin Charging Case Pro for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $99.99 (Amazon) / £69.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Charging Case Pro immediately sets itself apart as it's the priciest case from Belkin's lineup with its $99.99 / £69.99 MSRP. Why is it such a markup from what we've already looked at?

Well, because it takes what was so neat about the Charging Case and makes it even better. Instead of just plopping a power bank attached by a strap into its bottom interior, Belkin has transformed it into a device that sits into the lower half of the case. Whenever you slip your Switch 2 inside, it will automatically start to charge, no messing around with cables required.

This case also features passthrough charging, which was a major draw for me personally. Remember how I mentioned that charging the previous case's power bank requires you to physically take it out? Well, that process is a lot more simplified, as Belkin has included a small cut-out window on the side of the case which allows you to feed through a USB-C cable straight into the charger. A genius inclusion that makes this Pro model all the more intuitive and easier to use.

However, you can actually remove the power bank as you see fit, which I do almost every night I go to bed. It can be removed and act as a bedside charging stand, which negates the need to buy one separately. So while you're paying $100 in the US for this case, it does at least save you from investing in a charging stand and a spare AC adapter, if I think about it.

Earlier this year, MSI announced a lineup of PC accessories based around the hit anime series Frieren Beyond Journey's End, and now the graphics card is finally up for grabs.

The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Frieren Edition card is a beastly GPU that comes packaged in a mimic-style box, which hopefully Frieren herself won't get stuck in. When she spots the $1,149.99 (Newegg) price tag, she might want to hide away, especially when you factor in that the launch model was $749 / £729.

The over 1K price tag is more than my physical anime collection, and I've been adding to it for decades. In fact, if you threw the combined cost of my Frieren figures, it'd likely still be more. However, as we're still dealing with the ramifications of the RAM Storage Crisis, which in turn has driven up the costs of graphics cards, it's sadly not surprising. I just wish I had the funds to invest in it and a rig fit for Frieren.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Freien Edition card is a lofty investment even as far as the best graphics cards go, but as a Frieren fan myself, I can see why anime fans might still want to get their hands on it. The perfectly on-brand mimic-style treasure chest packaging is one thing, but it's the adorable art of Frieren and Himmel the Hero on the metal backplate that has me wishing I had the funds to put together my dream anime gaming PC right now.

The pair can be spotted sitting next to one another, while their silhouettes can be spotted throughout the Tri Frozr three-fan design on the opposite side. A closer inspection on the MSI website reveals the inclusion of a particularly emotionally devastating quote: "I'm sure you still have a long life ahead of you, far longer than we can imagine." Why would you do this to me, MSI? Why?!

As gut-wrenching as the quote on the graphics card is, I simply cannot budget for a new GPU. If you're in the same boat, fortunately, MSI also released a matching set of accessories that are a lot more budget-friendly. They're out of stock right now, but you can backorder the set for $179.99 at Newegg, which includes a Frieren Beyond's Journey End FORGE TKL wireless keyboard, a Versa wireless gaming mouse, and an Agility mouse pad.

Out of all this MSI set has to offer, I'm personally eyeing up the gaming keyboard, as it includes the mage herself printed throughout the keycaps. Not to mention, it includes a 1.06-inch display that the MSI FORGE TKL product page suggests can display chibi versions of not just Frieren, but my personal favorite characters Fern and Stark too.

I have a Frieren Beyond Journey's End bust figure on its way to me right now from Japan, and I can't help but think MSI's collection could combine to create a perfect anime-themed gaming setup. If you're considering building one of your own, I recommend getting in there quickly before stock of the GPU sells out too, and while backorders for the MSI gaming gear exist at all.

Razer's new Espeon and Umbreon Collection is fresh on my mind as it dropped on July 6. It's a new line-up of PC gaming accessories decked out in imagery of the two iconic Eevee evolutions, and I assumed the love for the Gen 2 Pokemon would stop there. Still, a brand-new Umbreon and Espeon Switch 2 controller from Hori has been spotted.

Originally shared by the X (Twitter) account Pokémon Deals, Restock and Alerts, the new controller hasn't officially been announced yet on Hori's official social media channels. However, its listing is live at Amazon US, which showcases a new version of the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo gamepad draped in a dark purple colorway and gold star details. Sadly, you can't buy it quite yet, but the moment it goes live, I'll be sure to let you know, so you can complete your hybrid Razer and Hori Espeon and Umbreon gaming setup.

I believe I've stumbled on this new Pokemon version of the controller a little early. It's currently listed as "Temporarily out of stock" despite never being in stock at all. This is very likely just a temporary state while Hori prepares to get its announcement in order, which could hopefully include even more Switch 2 accessories featuring this stunning Espeon and Umbreon artwork.

Hori is known to release accessories in waves, so I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up seeing this design on a Switch 2 case, a game card case, and even a wired headset. If you take the Kirby and Waddle Dee Collection by the brand as an example, it launched its own Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller, alongside a Puff Pouch and Vault Case in the US. I'd be surprised if these weren't also on the cards for Umbreon and Espeon.

Regardless of what else might come of this new Hori and Pokemon collaboration, I'm glad we're getting a wireless pad over the alternative. As much as I adore the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu controller, its cute design does little to distract from the fact that its wired-only connectivity (over the HORIPAD Turbo's 33 ft wireless compatibility) feels very limiting.

Of course, this wireless support typically comes at a higher cost. While there isn't one listed alongside the new controller quite yet, judging from past officially licensed Wireless HORIPAD Turbo releases, you'll likely be looking at $64.99 for this stunning pad. But for that price, you should also be getting stick-drift-dying TMR sticks, and 10 hours of playback, which isn't too shabby.

So far, this stunning new Umbreon and Espeon controller has not appeared at Amazon UK or other retailers. However, the moment it does, I'll sound the alarm as I feel it's my duty to ensure Nintendo players have the cutest accessories possible. In the meantime, Pokemon fans can pre-order the Ditto Wireless HORIPAD Turbo for £54.99 at Amazon instead. It's not Eevee-related, but it's at least a purple Pokemon pad.

Razer has dropped the third of its Pokemon collaborations, this time giving Eevee evolution fans something to get excited about with the new Espeon & Umbreon Collection.

Launching in partnership with The Pokemon Company and coincidentally a few months before the Pokemon 30th Anniversary, the Espeon and Umbreon line-up is made up of a stunning Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless gaming keyboard, Razer Cobra gaming mouse, Razer Gigantus V2 mouse mat, and a wired Razer Kraken V4 X gaming headset, all decked out with art of the two Gen two Pokemon. However, unlike Pokemon Gold and Silver, there's no special requirements to grab them besides logging onto the official Razer store and parting with your hard-earned cash.

Where to order the Razer Espeon & Umbreon Collection

Just like the Razer Gengar Collection, purple is the color of choice for the entire collection, which is actually a clever decision on Razer's part. Not just because Espeon is known for its pretty purple color palette, but grabbing any of these new PC gaming accessories would tie in nicely with the Gengar ones, should you already have them in your setup.

In fact, the Gengar Collection doesn't have a keyboard, which makes this new Espeon and Umbreon Edition Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless ($119.99 at Razer) even more intriguing. It's the same gaming keyboard that you can buy without the Pokemon branding, sporting low-profile keys and the brand's Mecha-Membrane switches, but the board is coated in this stunning dark purple colorway, which shines when the Razer Chroma-powered RGB lighting is set to a matching light purple-pink, as seen in the official marketing images.

The two Eevee evolutions can be spotted hiding around the directional keys and are hard to ignore as they sit dead center on the accompanying wrist rest. While the Pokémon theming is a bit more subtle than I personally prefer, the little star designs and the UV-painted keycaps should help this keyboard shine amongst your setup, as would the matching Razer Cobra gaming mouse.

At $59.99 it's one of the cheapest additions to this new collection, yet it's also one of the cutest. Espeon and Umbreon can be found on the left and right keys, and Razer has gone for a slightly different design this time around. Instead of just re-using the same depiction of the sitting Pokemon as the keyboard, Espeon is giving a cheeky wink as Umbreon stands guard. The palm rest of this Razer Optical Mouse with Gen 3 switches also plays host to a swarm of stars that surrounds an RGB Chroma-powered Razer logo, which is a nice touch.

I would have preferred to see a glowing Pokeball instead, but it makes sense that Razer would want to keep its branding intact. Especially as it mirrors that of the Gengar Edition Razer Cobra gaming mouse. At least the Razer branding is minimal on the matching Espeon and Umbreon Razer Gigantus V2 mouse mat ($29.99). The medium model remains the cheapest item in the set, and features a textured micro-weave cloth surface that showcases the two Pokemon as they appear on the gaming keyboard.

Last but not least, the Razer Espeon and Umbreon Collection is rounded off with a new version of the Razer Kraken V4 X headset. As the hardware team's best gaming headset connoisseur, this is the accessory that has most caught my eye, though I'm disappointed to see that Razer played it a little safe with this new Pokemon release.

While the Gengar Kraken Kitty V2 headset went all out by replicating the Pokemon's ears and hair tufts with a pair of cups that I'd easily incorporate into a cosplay if I still made costumes, this new Kraken V4 X headset has none of that. Don't get me wrong, it still looks great with its light and dark purple color palette, and the Espeon and Umbreon illustrations that are peeking from inside the earcushions, but I was hoping for a design that felt a bit more elaborate.

I was also hoping that Razer would take an existing wireless headset like the Razer Kraken Kitty V3 Pro and use it as the basis for its next Pokemon collection, as the Kraken V4 X is limited by its wired connectivity. However, at least it's a pair that's got the brand's TriForce 40 mm audio drivers in tow, so while you won't have Bluetooth or 2.4GHz to play around with, it should still sound pretty grand.

The entirety of this new Razer Espeon and Umbreon Collection is available now from the official Razer online store. However, if you aren't a fan of these old-school Eevee evolutions, you could always grab the Gengar Collection starting from $59.99 at Razer instead.

Donkey Kong is turning 45 this week. As an old-age gaming pensioner, I'm trying to comprehend that bananas news, but July 9, 2026 marks 45 years since our favorite tie-wielding ape first landed in arcades and changed the scope of gaming as we see it. Of course, he didn't have a tie back then and was more concerned with hurling barrels at Jumpman (aka Mario) than looking sharp, but he's come a long way.

There's been a hoard of DK-flavored goodies released in those 45 years, including the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, which feature Donkey Kong and friends. From a lenticular 'moving' Switch 2 case, plenty of amiibo, and Switch 2 Joy-Con covers, it's not too difficult to show off your love for the 45-year-old ape with your handheld, and I've gathered these a-peel-ing accessories down below.

The Donkey Kong Switch 2 Case remains one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases available today as far as design goes. I reviewed the 'Mario Bricks' version earlier this year and was instantly swayed by its lenticular design, which is also featured on this model. Instead of a piece of hidden Super Mario art that reveals itself depending on your view angle, glancing at this Donkey Kong version makes the foliage behind DK and Diddy Kong's silhouettes appear to be moving.

The design is much more subtle on this version, and the case includes all the same amenities that I adored in the Mario version. You've got space for your Nintendo Switch 2 console, a small fabric mesh pocket for small accessories, and a dedicated space for storing up to 12 physical games, all for $29.99 (Amazon), and even less when there are sales inbound.

Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo

I love a good amiibo and have almost 200 of the Nintendo toys-to-life figures in my collection. Yet, the Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo remain one of my favorites from the entire line due to the sheer detail that's on display. For one, the $29.99 (Best Buy) collectible has one of the most unique bases out there, featuring a smashed-up terrain that feels entirely on brand for Donkey Kong Bananza.

Secondly, the amiibo is of a much higher quality than your run-of-the-mill figures. A closer inspection of little Pauline will reveal her tiny painted freckles, and even the denim texture of her jeans has been sculpted for this release. Talking of Pauline, tapping it on your right Switch 2 Joy-Con also unlocks one of her cutest outfits in the game (Pauline's Diva Dress) early, alongside destructible KONG letters which come in handy when you need to destroy a bunch of terrain at a pinch.

The PlayStation Disc Drive is one of the best PlayStation 5 accessories, as it allows anyone with a digital-only Slim or PS5 Pro console to still get access to physical games. You just need to remove the back console cover of the PS5 to hook it up, and you're able to play your discs as you see fit, even though you invested in a digital-only console. Magic.

However, with Sony's announcement that it's ending physical disc production for new games in 2028, that once handy accessory now feels pretty redundant. From January 2028, all new games will be available on the PlayStation Store or at retailers as "in digital formats only" and so new releases will soon be inaccessible to Disc Drive owners. Sure, new games released in 2028 will still be able to be purchased digitally, but that's still not the best consolation prize if you recently invested $79.99 / £69.99, assuming you'd have access to any upcoming games on the platform.

Before Sony's disheartening announcement, I was more than happy to recommend the official Sony Disc Drive to PS5 players. Its $79.99 (Best Buy) / £69.99 (PS Direct) price is a little higher than I would prefer for an external disc drive, but I was always a fan as it meant that physical games were accessible to more players. Including the discounts that can often come with them.

Physical games, especially where the PS5 is concerned, can be subject to alluring price markdowns, even right after launch. For example, I've been eyeing up Assassin's Creed Shadows, but its full £69.99 MSRP here in the UK was a little more than I was willing to spend at launch. As of typing, it's now £37.76 at Amazon for the disc edition of the game on the PS5, a price I'm glad I have access to, not just myself, but anyone with the official Disc Drive attached to their console.

The official PlayStation Store does have plenty of sales events of its own. If you have a PlayStation Plus membership, you can also be offered exclusive deals on certain titles. However, purely relying on a digital-only experience removes your ability to shop around, one of the reasons why I used to herald the official Disc Drive as a great option for digital PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro owners. While digital-only console owners were once locked to sticking with the PS Store, the Disc Drive opened up a new world of possibilities.

One of those possibilities is being able to borrow games from a friend. I know for a fact it has been a handy way for my friends to experience recent Triple-A titles while saving some cash. As a big physical game collector, I'm often the one they come to when they want to play new releases but are saving their cash. I've accumulated quite a collection, and it's one I'm always proud to loan to others.

Sharing new titles with those closest to me was always a nice social aspect to gaming I really enjoyed, especially as I'd eagerly await the day they'd hand it back and divulge all their favorite experiences.

The Disc Drives also allowed my friends (and myself) to pick up releases that didn't have physical copies here in the UK. Amongst my gaming shelf, I own both Slitterhead and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name physically, despite both games being digital-only releases. The region-free playback allowed me to import Japanese copies, which played fine (including their English language options) on both my disc-edition PS5 and the official Disc Drive on my friends' consoles

The lack of future physical PS5 games isn't just bad for Disc Drive owners, as it means the likelihood of losing access to second-hand games in stores and the ability to borrow games from a friend. But it also means you've essentially wasted your money on a device that will no longer help to provide access to brand-new upcoming games that are released in 2028.

If you have a huge existing physical PS5 game backlog to get through, and that will be able to satiate your needs for a while, then I'm happy for you. You've also got 547 days until new physical PS5 games are no more, and that's still over a year's worth of playtime at your fingertips.

I used to be comfortable recommending the official Sony Disc Drive, but Sony's recent announcement has changed my tune. Now, I'd be much more eager to recommend you go off the deep end and pick up a second-hand PS2 instead. If you do, I'm sure our retro gaming expert Phil Hayton will most definitely support you on those retro-Sony endeavours.

If you've visited the official Hori Europe store lately, you've likely seen the scary red "sold out" buttons across some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories for Kirby fans, but don't worry, as there's actually plenty of stock to go around.

After some online sleuthing, I discovered that the adorable line-up is available at Smyths Toys, starting from £26.99 (Smyths Toys), where you can grab almost the entire set of pink-puffball-inspired goodies. Which is great, as some of the items, like the retro-inspired transparent purple Kirby controller, are being listed at second-hand sites like eBay for upwards of £109, which makes me a little nauseous.

So you don't mistakenly hand over your hard-earned pennies to re-sellers, I've picked out the in-stock Hori Kirby and Waddle Dee accessories down below. I've also been sure to include US links, so don't think I forgot about you puffball fans across the pond.

While the majority of the officially licensed Kirby and Waddle Dee line-up is available at retailers like Smyths Toys and Amazon in the UK, the Plush Pouch isn't as easy to find as the rest.

It's at least currently on the Hori online store for £34.99 (Hori), however its product page on the Amazon store states it's "currently available". If you want to make it look like Kirby has inhaled your handheld alongside their usual tasty treats, you'll have to stick to the official Hori store for now.

In the US, it's a similar story. It's not available at Amazon, nor could I find it listed on the official US Hori store. Some Hori accessories take a while to appear at US and UK retailers, so it could just be a case that it's not ready to drop quite yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that availability will get better soon. In the meantime, there's at least plenty of stock of the Puff Pouch and Vault Case to go around.

Sorry for making you feel like an old-age gaming pensioner, but the Persona series is 30 years old. I won't let you linger on that depressing factoid for too long, as PC accessory brand HYTE has partnered up with Atlus to introduce a bunch of shiny Persona-themed goodies to celebrate the big 3-0.

Starting from $19.99 (HYTE), the collab consists of two Persona 30th Anniversary Desk Pads. Both include all the mainline series protags from Megami Ibunroku Persona's Boy With Earring to Persona 5's Joker. Even the mobile game Persona 5: The Phantom X protagonist Nagisa Kamisiro has been included and can be found on one of the desk pads, all of which are available to pre-order, alongside a set of keycaps and an Acrylic Diorama Stand if that's not enough Persona for your gaming desk needs.

Persona fans have been eating good lately, as Persona 4 Revival is coming on Februrary 18, 2027, and pre-orders introduced a fancy collector's edition which included a P4R Protagonist & Izanagi figure. That alone was enough to satiate my Persona fandom, so these HYTE accessories are just the cherry on top of an otherwise already delicious-looking cake.

As big a fan as I am, I don't have the biggest budget in the world so its the desk pads that have mostly caught my attention. Both start from $29.99 (HYTE) and include the full roster of mainline protags, including the FeMC from Persona 3 Portable, who was missing from the Persona 3 Reload remake. Her inclusion alone makes me a fan of these eye-catching mousemats, which are 900 x 400mm and made from a "Silky smooth" 28 SPI according to HYTE.

Their product pages state both desk pads are expected to ship some Q4 2026, however the email from HYTE said "Q3 2026", so I'm not exactly sure which one is correct. If you do pre-order either, don't get your hopes up if they're expected a little later. There's at least no confusion with the Q4 2025 ship date of the Persona 30th Anniversary Keycap Set, available to pre-order from, $109.99 (HYTE) today.

The stunning keycap set includes 113 dye-sublimated PBT plastic caps which should be compatible with the best gaming keyboards that include 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL, and full-sized layouts. But my favourite aspect is how subtle their design is. Instead of just printing Joker's face across the keys, they have a white marbling effect, with small details that pertain to each protag, from Joker's iconic mask to Yu Narukami's glasses.

If you're more into your display pieces (and I get it, as I have a whole Persona-themed display in my gaming room) then you'll be more impressed with the $19.99 (HYTE) Persona 30th Anniversary Acrylic Diorama Stand. It's not something you can use to play your favorite Persona titles on PC, but a centerpiece that includes all the series protaganists together. HYTE doesn't include the dimensions of this stand, but at just $19.99 I imagine it could small enough to incorporate inside your PC build somehow.

While most of these accessories don't launch until Q4, you can get a glimpse on them in person if you're planning to attend Anime Expo in Los Angeles from July 2 to 5, 2026. These upcoming Persona 30th Anniversary accessories will be on display at the iBUYPOWER booth, which can be found in the West Hall (Booth #2342).

Switch game cases are pretty unnecessary. If you have a clamshell case for your handheld, you likely already have some game storage at hand. Even then, it's probably not advisable to take a large chunk of your library with you on the go, as you never know what could happen to them.

As unnecessary an accessory as the elago Switch Game Case is, that didn't stop the $14.99 (Amazon) gadget from grabbing my attention. It's shaped like the classic Game Boy, so instantly I was swayed by the nostalgia factor. Yet it's the fact that storing your games in it allows its key art to appear as if you were playing the modern titles on this '90s device that drove me to add it to my online shopping basket.

By default, the elago Switch Game Case includes a cardboard insert that mimics the classic handheld's LCD. It's basically a bit of paper with the brand's logo printed on it to appear like the Nintendo text that scrolls down the screen when you turn on the real thing. It's a simple feature, but a detail that I nevertheless appreciate as someone who grew up on the DMG-01 device.

It's this simple insert that you're intended to replace with your own games. Swapping them in place will have their stickered art appear as though a cut-out window of the tiny, silicone Game Boy, which is exactly what I did. I took Pokopia Pokopia, Donkey Kong Bananza, and the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection on the original Switch and gently placed them through the little slots, and the resulting effect was ridiculously cute.

In the case of the Switch 2 cartridges, you do see some red peaking through, but it's not distracting enough to be a genuine issue. In the case of Pokopia, the game's cartridge art fits almost perfectly on the replicated screen (bar the cut-off Nintendo logo) and looks absolutely adorable. I also tested out Donkey Kong Bananza, which looked even better, as the framing of DK and Pauline is better aligned with the cut-out window of the case.

As cute as it looks, I'd be very hesitant to actually store my games this way, as elago intends this to be a keychain that dangles off your backpack, or even your jeans. Neither Pokemon Pokopia nor Donkey Kong Bananza were very cheap, and they wouldn't be cheap to replace if they were to fall off my jeans while out in public, so I instead keep this as a display piece for my desk. It's honestly what I'd recommend for anyone else privy to this neat Game Boy-inspired accessory.

Yet, it's still a unique take on Switch game cases, which can often just be boring, hard plastic accessories with some art stuck on top. Elago also went all out to make this tiny gadget full of detail, as the tiny d-pad, pink-red buttons, and the volume wheel are all 3-dimensional, though they naturally aren't actually functional.

If you're a fan of retro handhelds and want a funky way to store some of your new Switch 2 pickups, this is a neat piece to add to your desk, or add to your bag if you're brave enough. Despite its low cost, it's a surprisingly detailed and well-made accessory that has me hoping elago will give the Switch 2 more attention in the future.

Hori is never shaking off the 'cutest Switch 2 accessory brand' status that I personally bestowed on it this year, especially not after I've spotted its new lineup of products for the Nintendo Switch 2 inspired by some of Sanrio's most adorable mascots.

Announced over at the official Hori Japan website on June 26, the brand unveiled that it's launching a set of new Kuromi and Cinnamoroll Switch 2 cases and matching wired controllers in Japan, set to launch in August and September of 2026, according to machine-aided translation. To make things fair, both Kuromi and Cinnamoroll are receiving a case and controller each, but as someone whose desk is cluttered with the edgy little bunny girl, I know whose Switch 2 goodies I'm after.

The first of the new Hori Switch 2 accessories is the Kuromi Puffy Hybrid Pouch, a hard-shell officially licensed case that features Kuromi serving up some tasty treats. Every inch of this case is oozing with style, from the Kuromi skull zip details to the silk scrunchy carrying handle.

Even the interior of the case is giving off stylish vibes. Instead of sticking to a plain all-black design like the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu case, it features a stunning pink lining fabric that includes little illustrations of some of the same tasty treats as seen on the outside. The fabric is also found throughout the game-storage flap, which appears to be able to store up to 10 physical Switch and Switch 2 carts - ideal for carrying around the upcoming Hello Kitty Party Land Switch 2 game, which I cannot wait to play when it launches on October 29, later this year.

The case can be paired with the matching HoriPad TURBO Mini controller. It includes the same Kuromi dessert motif, but swaps the large form factor of a typical HoriPad Turbo gamepad for a smaller 13cm by 7cm design.

It's not only compact, but it features a transparent purple glittery chassis. That's right, it's not just see-through, but it sparkles too, a style of Switch 2 controller I didn't know I needed until just witnessing the official images as seen on the Hori website right now. There unfortunately doesn't appear to be any TMR sticks as found on other Hori controllers, but the pad does include a Turbo/Turbo Hold function, if you need it.

Talking of glittery Switch 2 controllers, Cinnamoroll's is pretty much identical. I say pretty much, as it swaps the purple chassis for a milky white transparent design which is more in keeping with the adorable puppy's white and baby blue color palette. The Cinnamoroll Switch 2 case also shares the same design ethos as the Kuromii case, but it instead features the puppy on the front holding a little glass of lemonade.

The lemon theme continues throughout the case, as there are little lemon slides and even lemon pie illustrations found on the exterior and interior design of the case. There's no scrunchy carrying handle available, which is a bit of a let-down, as I appreciate its frilly whimsy on the other. However, seeing Cinnamoroll's little doe-eyed face on the zip makes up for that missing detail.

According to the official Hori Japan online store, the Kuromi Switch 2 accessories are expected to launch on August 31, 2026. Meanwhile, the Cinnamoroll versions should drop on October 30, which is just a day after the release of the new Hello Kitty Party Land game I mentioned earlier.

Sadly, there has been no mention of these accessories across the Hori US or Hori UK social media pages, but that's not surprising. Whenever I spot these new adorable products, like the Hori Ditto Switch 2 Carry All Case, it normally takes a while for them to be announced elsewhere.

Nintendo Switch deals are done for another summer, and they were a little disappointing, if I'm honest. While I spent all of last week frantically covering Amazon's measly savings with the rest of the Hardware team, there wasn't much that stood out for Switch 2 owners besides this Turtle Beach PlayTrek Donkey Kong Travel Case.

This little accessory is the Donkey Kong equivalent of the Mario version I reviewed late last year, and it dropped to just £9.99 at Amazon here in the UK, which was a pretty phenomenal deal if you ask me. I've spent more on my Yo Sushi lunch today than on this case, which includes a lenticular moving cover and remains one of the best Switch 2 cases money can buy, so long as you're a DK fan.

If you're sitting there and asking yourself what a "lenticular" means, don't fret about it. Parallax Printing refers to it as a "specialty printing process that layers an interlaced image with a lenticular lens sheet to produce prints that appear 3D or animated as you view them from different angles."

If you grew up in the 90s, you've likely seen many a lenticular image or poster before and just didn't know that's what it was called. It was often used as a gimmick to sell '3D' images of popular pieces of media. As far as this case goes, gazing down at the silhouette of DK and Diddy Kong at different angles will make the foliage around them appear to be moving, as if they're running off to go give King K. Rool another beating, and it's an effect that lends itself to this lovely accessory.

So much so I'm pretty surprised to see it as low as £10 at Amazon UK, as there's more than reasonable for what you get - a fantastic-looking case, which includes a carrying handle and plenty of accessory space for gaming on the go.

If you're a DK fan, this deal feels like a bit of a no-brainer, but I recommend jumping on sooner rather than later. With Prime Day over and done with for another summer, this deal is bound to disappear faster than DK's banana hoard.

Now that Star Fox has come in for a landing on the Nintendo Switch 2, I assumed it'd be an excuse for Nintendo to go warp speed on slapping Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy's faces on a bunch of official accessories and tech - and I was sort of right.

Nintendo just dropped a new Star Fox mousepad, which the official Nintendo Store UK Twitter (X) page shared is intended for you to "Pilot your mouse (or Joy-Con 2 controller) over," and it's pretty neat as it makes use of the box art render of the team. However, despite my hopes, this new product is not indicative of an entire new Star Fox Switch 2 accessory line, as it's just a Nintendo Reward item that you can claim if you have 500 Platinum Points to spare.
