Elizabeth Olsen says Scarlet Witch is Civil War's "wildcard"

Elizabeth Olsen was one of the standout performers as Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, with the character set to play a major role in the forthcoming Civil War. And as the actress explains to MTV, the loss of brother Quicksilver has left her in a frame of mind where she is the “wildcard” of the group.

“She’s OK, she’s doing alright,” says Olsen when grilled on her character’s frame of mind. “She’s confused, she’s conflicted. She’s found some people she thinks she connects with, but she’s doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn’t there. She’s always the wild card. I like being the wild card.”

Olsen went on to revel that she’s been working with movement coach Jennifer White to find news ways of demonstrating Scarlet Witch’s increasing command of her powers. “It’s not a new hand technique per say,” says the star. “We’re trying to grow her movement as a whole… Jenny and I have great pride in trying to make this a huge transformation — the next time we see her — of her abilities.” Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War will open in the UK on April 29 2016 and the US on May 6 2016.
