Dreams Of A Life review

The compelling story of a woman who died alone at Christmas and whose body was left undiscovered for over 2 years

In 2006, 38-year-old Joyce Vincent was found dead in her Wood Green flat; surrounded by Christmas presents and with the TV still on, her body laid undetected for more than two years.

Carol Morley’s docudrama is a compelling, compassionate mix of imaginative reconstructions, shrewdly chosen songs and interviews with Joyce’s ex-partners, friends and colleagues. With the aforementioned paying tribute to the vivaciousness and popularity of this woman who died alone and apparently unmissed.

Dreams speaks volumes about the mysteries of other people’s lives.
