Can he swing from a thread? Take a look overhead.

With Marvel now firmly cradled in Disneys massive, copyright-grabbing arms, it was only a matter of time before the likes of Black Widow and Thor hit Disney Infinity. As E3 2014 kicked off, the company announced that not only would we be getting the Avengers in our Toybox, but wed also be able to soar through the rooftops as our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Thats probably the biggest, best kept secret of Disney Infinity 2.0, and its still just skimming the surface of what the game has on offer.

Disneys theme this year was player creation, which they ramped up to 11 in Infinity. The Marvel characters bring with them a whole host of new abilities like flight, and for the first time different playsets--namely for Spiderman and Avengers--can interact outside the amalgamation Toybox. This will only extend to playsets that make sense together as the Marvel ones do, but its still a step toward what many fans have asked for.

Of course, for those levels that dont mesh together well still do have the Toybox, which is seeing a serious upgrade. Templates have been created that allow you to build entire mini-worlds at once, like adding Agrabah or a working soccer field, to streamline the building experience and remove the tedious parts. You can still edit them once theyre built though, so they customizability of the game stands strong. Other features are being added into the Toybox as well, such as a tower defense mini-game set in Asgard, and other more structured features that can be experienced by any character. It looks like a lot of content for the Toybox to handle, but if done well, it looks to be a true upgrade to what Disney Infinity has to offer.
