Disney have released the final trailer for the upcoming Beauty and The Beast and it’s just as wondrous as you’d expect, giving us a fuller look at Lumiere, Cogsworth and the rest of the staff, plus a wounded Beast, and a glimpse at Belle’s pre-Beast life.
The trailer opens up with a chance to see Emma Watson as Belle in her tiny, picturesque village and gradually builds up to a grandstand conclusion with the song ‘A Tale As Old As Time’ sweeping through the trailer to give it a sprinkling of that that ol’ Disney magic.
So, what’s new in this trailer?
There’s a further look at the hijinks of the trapped Lumiere, Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts, voiced by Ewan McGregor (with a wonderfully hammy French accent), Sir Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson respectively, plus Dan Steven’s Beast getting a tiny bit irritated (that’s an understatement) at Belle gets close to the rose which would doom him to an eternity of being a Beast.
Don’t worry though, Belle gets back in Beast’s good books (and that’s not including the thousands of books he has in his library) after tending to him following a wolf attack. It’s good to see everything isn’t going to be, umm, rosy in the movie.
Also, *that* dance scene is about as good as you’d expect from The House of Mouse: practically perfect in every way. Let’s just hope the trailer hasn’t spoiled too much of it.
The full trailer is above but I’ll leave you with a Lumiere party because there ain’t no party like a Lumiere party ‘cos a Lumiere party never stops.
Directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, and Ewan McGregor, Beauty and the Beast hits cinemas on March 17, 2017.
