World of Nintendo

9) The horror, the horror
You may have seen this doing the rounds on the internet recently. And if you were lucky enough to have missed it, you may sleep soundly no longer, because here’s what Mario would look like if he was real (and lived in Chernobyl). Sweet dreams.

10) Lace up Mario
This piece of Nintendo clothing is a huge step up from your basic T-shirts and baseball caps. You might have to get somebody to tie you into it (having a couple of ribs surgically removed is supposed to help) but it’s guaranteed to turn heads in a way that sweatshirts with Triforces so rarely do. Especially if you’re a bloke.

11) 151 Pokemon carts
Tens of millions of Pokemon carts were sold for the original Game Boy and are now completely obsolete. That’s progress for you. But the pretty labels of the Japanese versions make for an interesting art project, and this one was sold for a pittance on Yahoo Japan’s auction site.

12) Game Boy Soft
Nintendo made them in every colour imaginable - see through ones, pastel ones, even a red one. But they never made a Game Boy out of bright bits of felt and stuffed it with cotton, did they? Where’s your patent on that, Nintendo? Ha! These ones don’t play any games, but then neither does that old grey Game Boy that’s been rotting away in your loft for the last five years, right?
