The 40 most repeated game quotes

"Snake" is a word which refers to a certain type of reptile. "SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE?!" is a word which refers to a guy who talks in a deep voice and hides in boxes.

%26ldquo;Hey! Listen!%26rdquo; - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

We've already made fun of Navi plenty, but she has to be on this list because for a good two years or so after Ocarina of Time was released, every gamer was saying "Hey!" and "Listen!" to annoy his friends. It's just what you did.

%26ldquo;Nuclear Launch Detected%26rdquo; - Starcraft

We still get agitated when we hear this, despite not having played any Starcraft in years.

%26ldquo;Gotta catch 'em all" - Pok%26eacute;mon

Holy crap was this ever repeated - it was all anyone could say for a few years. And every time we actually did catch them all, a new version of Pokémon would be released. And that will continue to happen forever. Damn you Nintendo! You've given us animpossible goal!

%26ldquo;QUAD DAMAGE!%26rdquo; - Quake Series

The Quake series is rife with great sound effects and verbal announcements, and there's nothing more reassuring or exciting than hearing this voice and these words when you're down by a few frags near the end of a match.

%26ldquo;Stay awhile and listen." %26ndash; Diablo II

Deckard Cain. Deckard F'ing Cain. This guy sure has a way with words, in that he says a lot of them.

%26ldquo;EA Sports... it's in the game.%26rdquo; - EA Sports

This quote may not have been verbally repeated a whole lot, but how many times have you heard it in your head? Is it possible to read "EA SPORTS..." without automaticallysaying "It's in the GAME" in your head? And that voice...that staccato, over-punctuated voice. Who the hell is that? Oh -it's this guy:

%26ldquo;Killtacular!%26rdquo; - Halo 2

Why do first-person announcer voices always sound like this? (See "Quad Damage" above.)

%26ldquo;Would you kindly...%26rdquo; - BioShock

This phrase is a powerful symbol of our tendency toblindly accept authority figures. Also, we get it, and we can all stop repeating it now. (Ed. note - Don't forget to insert a bunch ofcrap about Ayn Rand!)

%26ldquo;The cake is a lie.%26rdquo; - Portal

No more! We're done! Please! We all had a good laugh, and Portal certainly is one of the greatest games ever. But now it's time to put the Portal quotes aside and recognize that most cakes are in fact truthful.

%26ldquo;War. War never changes." - Fallout series

It's the first line in every Fallout game, and despite not being a hugely unique statement, it can't be uttered without everyone assuming it's a reference. Also, it's a lot of fun to say that intenseRon Perlman voice.
