Summit Entertainment have landed the rights to Mandate Pictures' comedy drama I'm With Cancer .
The film is based on scriptwriter Will Reiser's own experience of developing cancer in his 20's and will see The Wackness director Jonathan Levine take the reigns.
Notable stars already on board include funny-man Seth Rogan, James McAvoy, Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard.
McAvoy will play cancer patient Adam, with Kendrick in line to play Katherine, the psychologist who is helping Adam come to terms with the cancer. Bryce Dallas Howard will provide the eye candy and Seth Rogan the belly laughs.
Summit's President of production, Erik Feig, had this to say;
"It's rare to find a script that had you laughing and crying in equal measure or a cast and director as perfectly suited to get the tone of this unique and moving film perfectly right"
I'm With Cancer will begin shooting later this month, and we're expecting something fairly similar to Judd Apatow dramedy Funny People - high hopes maybe, but all the ingredients are in place.
