The Sims 4 essential Starter guide

I'll bet this was the first page you came to. For shame! If it wasn't and you need to justify using the cheats, just think of all the free time having a never-ending supply of money will bestow upon your Sim. You'll be able to focus on social interactions every day to get their skills maxed out before they shrivel up into an old pensioner and drop down dead. It's like the cows in Harvest Moon all over again.

To use the cheats, open the Cheat Console with CTRL + SHIFT + C

  • Help - Lists all available cheat codes
  • resetSim insert first and last name of the Sim - resets Sim
  • death.toggle - toggle death on and off
  • FreeRealEstate on/off - Enter at world screen to make all lots free
  • kaching - Adds 1000 Simoleons to wallet
  • motherlode - Adds 50,000 Simoleons to wallet
  • Press SHIFT + ] - Increases the size of selected object
  • fullscreen - toggles full screen on and off
  • headlineeffects on/off - Hides all headline effects including Plumbbob, thought balloons etc.

You can also switch to testing/god mode and take away your Sims autonomy entirely:

  • testingcheats true/false - allows the use of even moar cheats, then enter
  • cas.fulleditmode for all create a sim abilities.

You can now hold down SHIFT and click on an object or Sim to reset positions, disable and enable decay, teleport Sims and override their emotions to make them happy.

Have fun ruling over your dominion!
