Role: Squabbling siblings who fulfil the Autobots’ “comedy sidekick” quota.
The painful truth: In a movie packed with boringly identikit silver robots, Skids and Mudflap stand out. This is not actually a good thing, however, because this street-talking pair of wannabe gangstas are offensively annoying. It’s not just that their banter discovers new realms of brainlessness – even their supposedly carefully designed CG faces look idiotic. So hen one of the two (we forget which – we don’t really care) was about to be be pulverised by giant Decepticon Devastator, we know who we were rooting for.
