SYNOPSIS
Day Watch (Dnevnoi Dozor in the original Russian) is the second instalment of a trilogy based on the best- selling SF novels of Sergei Lukyanenko, the first being the record-breaking Night Watch. Set in contemporary Moscow, this flick revolves around the balance maintained between the forces of Light and Darkness, the result of a medieval truce between opposing sides in a great conflict. When Light agent Anton learns of an artefact that can change the course of history, he sets out to recover it and protect Moscow from an almost apocalyptic destruction. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, it’s a cracking mix of special effects and action, and is pretty awesome (see our SFX review in issue 162). Yay!
