Roger Deakins not returning for Bond 24

Disappointing news today regarding the next Bond film, with reports claiming that legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins will not be on board to shoot 007's latest outing.

Deakins had previously collaborated with director Sam Mendes on Skyfall to jaw-dropping effect, producing some truly gorgeous vistas, including the iconic shot of Bond looking out across the London skyline.

No explanation has been given as to why Deakins will not be involved, although the assumption is that scheduling issues have reared their unwelcome head.

Indeed, Skyfall had previously prevented Deakins from working with long-standing associates the Coen brothers on Inside Llewyn Davis , so it looks as though it's MGM's turn to miss out.

Mendes will at least be returning to the director's chair, with Daniel Craig also set to reprise his role when Bond 24 opens in the UK on 23 October 2015.
