Robin Hood will open Cannes

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves remake will open the Cannes Film Festival.

Okay, so it's not really a Prince Of Thieves redo, and Bryan Adams probably won't be on the soundtrack, but it still looks really good.

Russell and Ridley will attend the premiere on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival on the 12 May.

Total Film will be there too, and we'll let you know whether Crowe hits the bullseye or misses the target totally when trying to live up to the high standards set by Kevin Costner. That's because everything we do, we do it for you.

Keep your eye on totalfilm.com throughout May for all the latest Cannes news, reviews and ace videos.
