Marsden and Brand say I Hop

It was only a matter of time.

Love Santa Claus? Love the Easter Bunny even more? Wondering why there’s never been a decent movie about him/her/it?

Well sing hallelujah and praise the lord of movies, Alvin and the Chipmunks director Tim Hill has answered your prayers.

He’s helming new live-action/CGI mix I Hop , which stars James Marsden as Fred, an unemployed layabout who inadvertently injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand).

Taking the fluffy-tailed bouncer home to recover, Fred finds his house guest is anything but gracious.

Sounds, um, fun? Scripted by Brad Lynch, of Horton Hears a Who and Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots , this one really could go either way.

The very best we can hope for here is a Roger Rabbit style double act. At worst, it could be as awful as the Chipmunk movies. Just please don't give us another Howard the Duck ...

Are they hopping mad? Or could this be a seasonal treat? Share some of those thoughts...
