The first images have emerged online from Barely Lethal, Kyle Newman’s kids-with-guns actioner starring Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage badass.
The new film casts Steinfeld as a youthful Special Ops Agent, who fakes her own death in order to have a crack at a normal life as a high school student.
Sadly for her, it turns out that going civilian is trickier than she’d expected, and high school brings a whole host of social pitfalls she would never previously have encountered.
On top of that, her old handlers aren’t about to let her go without a struggle, and have recruited another student to track her down and bring her back in.
Directed by Newman and co-starring Jessica Alba, Samuel L. Jackson and Sophie Turner, Barely Lethal will open in the US in 2014, with a specific release date yet to be confirmed.
