The End… Or A New Beginning?
It’s that time of the year when US shows teetering on the brink of cancellation have to decide: end the current season on a cliffhanger or give the audience some closure in case they’re never coming back? In a story on the subject about "shows on the bubble" Variety reveals that two genre shows had very different approaches to the problem. Chuck producer Josh Schwartz is banking that the show will get a renewal and is promising a cliffhanger that significantly changes the show’s format, and is currently pitching season three ideas to his bosses in the hope they'll bite.
The producers on the US version of Life On Mars, however, were begging network bosses to let them know early if the show was going to get the axe, so that they could write a proper finale. Obliging ABC bigwigs handed out the cease and desist notice. "Obviously we would have loved to be on the air for nine years, and none of this comes without great sadness," said executive producer Andre Nemec. "We think it's cool that we're able to wrap this series up and not leave the audience high and dry." Which clearly means it won't be ending like the UK series, then...
Battlestar/CSI Crossover
According to Entertainment Weekly’s Ausiello Files, an upcoming episode of CSI is going to have a Battlestar Galactica vibe. The episode will feature a murder at a sci-fi convention, with guest appearances from Galactica showrunner Ronald D Moore a Cylon babe Kate Vernon.
Daisies Star Becomes Target,
Pushing Daisies star Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley have been tipped to star in the Fox network’s new series, Human Target, based on the DC comic, according to The Hollywood Reporter .
