There are a lot of KPop Demon Hunters toys available now, and I mean a lot. It's a nice contrast to the initial hype surrounding the film's release on Netflix, when the only thing available was scary-looking bootleg dolls and overpriced shirts exclusive to the Netflix online store.

Now, I can pick up a toy based on Huntrix (HUNTR/X) or the Saja Boys while I do my weekly food shop, and I have many times. But this incoming Rumi Sain-Geom Premium Electronic Sword by Hasbro takes the cake (or should I say Songpyeon) as one of the best toys I've laid eyes on that's inspired by the Netflix phenomenon.

As you can likely guess from its $224.99 pre-order price, the replica of Rumi's Sain-Geom, which was originally unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, is aimed at adult fans and collectors. Though if I were a little Kpop Demon Hunters fan, I'd be clamouring to own this gorgeous sword, as it's not only a stunning reproduction of Rumi's iconic weapon, but it lights up, reacts to music, and makes sound effects from the film when you wield it. Protecting the Honmoon would be an easy feat with this in your arsenal, and I've never wanted a piece of KDH merch more.

Much like Hasbro's line-up of roleplaying replicas, like the fabulous Marvel Legends Wolverine Mask I know our toy expert Benjamin Abbott desperately wants (and I can't blame him), there's a lot of detail found within Rumi's Four Tiger Sword. Setting aside the lighting and sound effects for one moment, this looks like it stepped straight out of the Netflix musical with its pearlescent shimmer and gold details.

The official Hasbro Pulse storefront has plenty of close-ups that even depict the stunning pink markings on the hilt, which, in contrast to the gold, remind me of some of the most classic replicas in toy history: Bandai's 90s Sailor Moon prop line. The good thing is that this is more detailed than those vintage magical girl toys. For one, the 40-inch (101 cm) sword looks practically to scale with the adult model in the marketing images, so it should be perfect to wield around the room or even use for cosplay if you're comfortable taking a valuable collectable to the often busy convention floor.

Personally, as someone who used to cosplay years ago and even entered competitions, I'd not recommend using this as a prop unless it's just for a photoshoot or two. That's because I know for a fact that the lighting effects would look dazzling for a Rumi cosplay, particularly as they're even sound reactive. Hasbro states the toy has 4 unique interactive modes in total, and 'Song recognition mode' is one of them. If you play a song from the Kpop Demon Hunters OST, or any music for that matter, the LEDs inside will react to the beat - which is unfathomably cool.

Other modes include a 'Rainbow swing FX mode' which reveals rainbow colors that change as you move around, a 'Battle mode' which produces audible sound effects taken from the film, and a 'Display mode'. That last mode gives you the option to display your sword while still basking in the glow from its fancy lighting, which is a really neat inclusion. Hasbro has also included a Huntrix logo stand in the box so you can keep the sword protected while it's in this mode, an inclusion that's often found with other brands' premium toy weapon replicas.

Even if you're not a Kpop Demon Hunters fan, this light-up prop should get you excited about what's to come. Hasbro recently won the licence to create toys based on the Legend of Zelda series, so there's every chance we could see replicas of a wealth of Zelda weapons and items in the future. For now, they've stuck to launching a set of Tears of the Kingdom action figures, but I can entirely foresee an instance where we have replicas of everything from the Master Sword to more obscure items in Link's massive arsenal, from the hookshot from Ocarina of Time to the Wind Waker baton from Wind Waker.

There have been some Legend of Zelda replicas released in the past, and I even own the Bandai Proplica Master Sword, which has slashing sound effects much like Hasbro's Kpop Demon Hunters sword. However, these are often out of stock or have stopped being manufactured altogether. With that in mind, it'd be nice to see Hasbro take the helm and release an abundance of options for collectors that are easy to find amongst the physical and online toy shelves, just like its many Marvel and Star Wars roleplay toy releases.

In the interim, if I didn't already pre-order the singing Golden KPop Demon Hunter dolls, which don't release in the UK until September, then I'd be jumping on Rumi Sain-Geom. The toy isn't expected to start shipping until July 1, 2027, so I can only assume that pre-orders will be available for quite some time. Or at least, I hope that's the case, as it'll give me a moment to recoup my costs from the dolls and stop drinking as much soda pop so I can gather the $224.99 / £264.99 needed for this incredible collectible.

That being said, the official UK Forbidden Planet listing states the toy should start shipping on August 27, 2026, so I might need to start saving sooner rather than later.

A revamped Lego UCS Millennium Falcon could be on the way next year, according to rumors.

Reliable leaker CarterBricks04 recently posted a superdrop of set info for 2027/2028, and it features everything from major Lord of the Rings kits (including the fortress of Helm's Deep from Two Towers alongside Bree's Prancing Pony tavern) to a Disney Frozen model. However, chief amongst these is a new Lego UCS Millennium Falcon that will replace what many fans consider to be amongst the best Lego sets.

This information is attributed to an "unlocked LEGO file" on reddit, and while that's vague enough to cast doubt (we get no information as to where the file came from or what it was), CarterBricks04 has a good enough track record that I'd be willing to think there's something in this. They correctly flagged the new Ministry of Magic set and the upcoming Lego Avengers Doomsday kits ahead of time, for example. That makes me think we can take this with a pinch of salt rather than the entire shaker.

Another reason I believe there may be truth to this is the fact that the current Lego Ultimate Collector Series Falcon is one of the retiring Lego sets this December. That leaves the way open for a new version, though what it could add is up for debate. As noted in our Lego UCS Millennium Falcon review, the existing model is arguably "the greatest Lego Star Wars set ever." In fact, the only quibble we had was that it lacked some of the ship's pilots (Lando and Nien Nub). Would the replacement refine the existing design, with extra minifigures drawn from across the saga? Could it be even bigger or more detailed, perhaps with a grander interior? I honestly don't know how Lego could improve on the previous model, though it almost always finds a way. Just look at the recent Lego AT-ST Walker.

Because of this, I'm more excited about the other rumored kits in this leak. A new Lego Helm's Deep model feels like a foregone conclusion (to the point that it was near the top of my list for Lord of the Rings sets I expect to see after Minas Tirith), but I'm still pumped at the thought of a grand, hyper-detailed recreation along the lines of Lego Rivendell. And the Prancing Pony? A Lego spin on the pub where the hobbits meet Aragorn for the first time is unexpected, but welcome nonetheless. Lego's design team has a talent for making exquisite medieval buildings full of secrets (such as the Lion Knight's Castle), so it plays to their strengths.

As for the rest, a Lego Arendelle from Frozen makes total sense and should impress based on the team's work with the Lego Disney Castle and Beauty and the Beast castle. In much the same way, a modular Daily Planet model (presumably to tie in with 2027's Man of Tomorrow movie) would play into the team's strengths that it already showed off via Arkham Asylum. I suspect it'd also be gratefully received by fans because of how quiet things have been for Lego DC recently.

Uniqlo has brought its Mario Kart collection westward this week, dropping four new MK World-themed T-shirts for adults and eight pieces for kids in both the US and UK. The UT batch was originally launched on the brand's Japanese site, prompting many to conclude it was a regional exclusive. Now, the karts have pulled up on western shores.

There are four designs for grown-ups to choose from, with the best likely being that green sticker design. Sure, the others are nice, but the repetition of key art cheapens the look overall. Your two white options simply repeat the same graphics we see on a lot of the best Mario merch. A more retro-leaning design in black toes this line well, but for a smaller nod towards your favorite multiplayer racer I'd easily recommend the green option.

Kids have four t-shirts and four hoodies to choose from, with only that stamp design matching the adult collection. Otherwise, these are brand new designs that lean equally on key art and more nostalgic graphics.

Suffice to say, I clicked on this one pretty hard. Uniqlo's AIRsim t-shirt got me hooked on the brand earlier this year. After a lifetime of cheap, thin t-shirts that crumple around the neckline after a single wash, I've been pretty enamored by the quality of these. Video game T-shirts are rarely this well made, as my personal donation history can attest.

Like most of Uniqlo's library, prices aren't too bad either. Kids' shirts come in at $19.90 / £9.90, with hoodies at $29.90 / £19.90. The adult shirts sit at $29.90 / £19.90.

Doom developer and Alice: Madness Returns creator American McGee have just teamed up with '90s goth icon Emily's inventor Rob Reger to turn the character into the perfect fixture for my creepy bedroom, and their limited edition collaboration is live after being revealed this April. Now I'm sitting next to my Emily the Strange plush and wishing that she had thoughts, and that I could hear them. It almost never happens that a teenage girl wearing all black gets turned into a very fluffy stuffed rabbit, so I'd like to get her take on it.

Strange things happen when an unstoppable goth force has met an immovable goth object – and every girl I used to be is screaming. This collaboration between McGee and Reger is nearly 30 years in the making; the pair originally met in 1998, "at the exact same time I was bringing my Alice to life," says McGee on Twitter, in reference to his first haunted Alice in Wonderland spinoff game from 2000. "That makes Alice and Emily creative twins!" But this Emily the Strange plush from McGee's fancy stuffed rabbit brand Plushie Dreadfuls marks the creative pair's first crossover, and it's dreadfully lovely.

There are 2,000 total numbered plushies, plus an additional 200 "collector editions" that include a card autographed by McGee and Reger, and they come with the usual Plushie Dreadfuls accoutrements, like a tote bag and a pen. I was proud to walk around the woods this week with my Emily the Strange tote that shows Emily the bunny spraypainting the words "I Love Cats" with an anarchist A in it for good measure, letting all the nearby crows know where my loyalties lie. The matching pen dispenses black, buttery ink, and it's topped with a detailed rubber mold of Emily in her rabbit suit. This special Plushie Dreadfuls set also comes with an Emily the Strange coin purse, which is hairy like her plush's rabbit hood and could hold a few essentials – money, keys, and fake vampire teeth for just in case.

But the real princess here is the plush, which is as detailed and silky as all of Plushie Dreadfuls' products (Emily is my third one). Reger's original character is a subtle young woman. All of the 13-year-old's power comes from her black hole eyes – otherwise, she usually just wears a plain dress, solid black tights, and a sensible pair of sneakers. Her canonical gaggle of four cats are the true fashionistas. Mystery has a trim collar with a star swinging from the middle. Neechee flicks a stylishly striped tail, scraggly Sabbath decorates his hind with a bandaid, and Miles is missing an eye.

Emily's Plushie Dreadfuls reincarnation, however, adds McGee's characteristic whimsy to Emily's bold, original design. There's a broken red heart stitched to the middle of her chest and the red-and-black stripes decorating her arms and legs have the impressive quality of looking smeared onto her fur, with the berry red bleeding onto what would have been her wrists if McGee and Reger hadn't transformed her into a cute rabbit. Her floppy black ears hint at the onyx-dark hair underneath her stitched-on hood, and a cat-and-crossbones embroidered on their apple-colored interior serve as foreboding reminders of her real friends. Those damn cats.

A dark scar curves around her face, mimicking the button eyes and busted ears of McGee's other plushes. They were originally made in the image of Alice's white rabbit plush in McGee's adventure games; the girl held tightly to the deformed doll until the orderlies in the asylum forced her to let go.

I get the sense that Emily the Strange's plushie would never let that happen. The numbered card I received with her teaches me some of her important slumber party rules: "Think for Yourself, Do it Yourself, Be Yourself. Or, better yet, be all you can't be." Like a scarred bunny rabbit, maybe?

Having once been a strange little girl, I used to worry Emily and Alice in Wonderland were the only souls on the planet to share my angst. But as a grown-up, I think my new Emily the Strange Plushie Dreadfuls plush is a reminder that strangeness can never hurt, and it never dies – it simply turns into a good story, or a timeless outfit made up of all-black.

Speaking of throwbacks, this fan made an incredible Lego Final Fantasy set, and now I'm hoping it becomes a real model.

There's something magical about the Lego Disney Castle. I don't know whether that's because it recreates one of the most photographed buildings in the world or due to it carrying decades of nostalgia in every brick, but it doesn't matter. It's mesmerizing, particularly if you're a fan of the theme parks. Actually, I'd go so far as to call it one of the best Lego sets overall.

Not that there's much time left to enjoy the model. The Lego Disney Castle has just retired at the official Lego store so is only available via third parties while stocks last, and because its inspiration (Walt Disney World's Cinderella castle) has ditched the pink seen here for its more traditional white color scheme, it feels like a wistful time capsule.

Lego Disney Castle features & design

• Almost 5,000 pieces
• 31.5in tall, 23in wide
• Includes eight minifigures

This set is based on the castle as seen in Disney World, Florida when it was painted pink for the resort's 50th anniversary between 2021 and 2026. (It's now reverted back to the classic white.) Made up of almost 5,000 pieces, it's an impressive feat of Lego design that'll draw every eye in a room; it stands at 31.5in (80cm) tall from tip to tail.

This isn't just a facade, either. Turn the model round and you'll be treated to a host of rooms inside that reference numerous Disney movies.

Rather than featuring Mickey Mouse and friends like the previous (and ever so slightly smaller) Lego Disney Castle, this one comes with eight prince and princess minifigures. Cinderella, Prince Charming, Snow White, Prince Florian, Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Rapunzel, and Flynn Ryder make up the roster this time around.

Build

• Takes 10hrs+ depending on experience
• An endurance test
• Fragile, so is hard to move

Despite being a massive kit with an 18+ recommended age rating, I wouldn't say this is a challenging build; it's more of an endurance test. There's nothing overly fiddly to contend with, but it'll take a good chunk of time to finish.

While occasionally monotonous, Lego does a good job of varying things throughout the project too. Plus, it's deeply satisfying to see the structure come together – you're building from the ground up.

Just be aware that this thing is an absolute pain to move. It's more fragile than you'd expect, so I'd recommend having the Disney Castle close by wherever you want to display it.

Design

• Jaw-dropping once finished
• Crammed with references
• You need a lot of space to show it off

To put it simply, this is a stunning model that really does take the breath away once it's finished. For starters, it's massive. Its towers will loom over most – if not all – other Lego sets in your collection, only being outdone by the likes of the Eiffel Tower. In addition, it isn't just a facade; flip it around and you'll find the castle filled with reference-filled rooms. It's a showstopper in the way that Lego Rivendell is, balancing spectacle with intricacy.

Speaking of those rooms, they're crammed with detail. Numerous Disney movies old and new are represented here, from a chamber with Rapunzel's paintings to Cinderella's glass slipper and even Beauty and the Beast's dining table (I wouldn't recommend trying the gray stuff here, because it most certainly won't be delicious). There's a lot to see, so even after you've finished construction it's fun just to cast an eye over the set. You'll probably spot something you forgot was there… like a secret hidden Mickey, which is something Disney Parks fans will get a kick out of.

The downside is that you'll need a lot of room to display this set, never mind real estate to turn it around if you want to show off its interior. I'd definitely break out the tape measure before committing to this build.

Should you buy the Lego Disney Castle #43222?

I adore this set, and it's probably one of my favorite Disney collectibles. It brings back a wealth of happy memories for both the movies and theme parks, so I suspect most diehard fans will fall for it too. While the pink coloring means it may not appeal as much to dedicated Parks fans who prefer the classic white (and I'd recommend anyone wanting the original color to wait, because I wouldn't be surprised if a newer version replaces this one somewhere down the road), it still does justice to an absolute icon.

How we tested the Lego Disney Castle #43222

This review sample was provided by Lego.

I spent several days building the Lego Disney Castle in shifts, taking notes on the process and any pain points/highlights as I went. I then moved it to a shelf in my house, where it's stood proudly on display ever since.

I first started collecting and building Lego back in the 1990s when I'd create my own spaceships and houses from our box of random pieces. I've also been reviewing and reporting on Lego with GamesRadar+ for the better part of a decade.

A new Lego Ministry of Magic set has been revealed for the Harry Potter range, and it's the kind of model that feels like it should collapse under its own weight… but through some brick-building sorcery, doesn't.

Due to launch in early access for Insiders (e.g. anyone that's signed up to Lego's free membership) on August 29 and September 1 for everyone else, the Lego Ministry of Magic set is a three-story kit that recreates London's street level, the underground Ministry itself, and the Hall of Prophecy further below the surface.

If this model seems familiar, that's because it's not the first time Lego has made a Harry Potter set that laughs in the face of gravity. The enormous Lego Gringott's Bank was even more impossible (hence why it's a contender for our list of the best Lego sets), with the massive bank building perched atop a perilously thin cave stand with rails winding around it. While the Ministry isn't quite as ambitious, it's still stood atop a narrow base that's pitted like Swiss cheese and therefore not the sturdiest-looking. However, I assume this is where some design magic has been applied, because it's clearly not collapsing under its own weight.

The set begins over 10 inches up with a rendition of London, with a tube station beside the telephone box used to enter the Ministry in the films. Sadly, this version doesn't seem to operate as a lift – but you can dump minifigures into the Ministry by placing them on a toilet and hitting a lever that deposits them in the fireplace below.

We then get to the bulk of the set, which recreates the green-tiled Ministry entry hall itself with its many stacked offices, an ominous tapestry to the Minister of Magic, and one of the statues that takes pride of place in the atrium… which you can use to recreate the Dumbledore vs. Voldemort battle from Order of the Phoenix.

Speaking of which, the kit then descends one more level to the area where Harry and co battle Death Eaters in a bid to secure a prophecy. These shelves can be 'toppled' just like in the film,

The downside? That price. While it's not outside the norm for Harry Potter Collectors' Edition kits like Gringotts or Hogsmeade, it's still eye-watering. Actually, it has significantly fewer pieces than Gringotts but is around $20 more expensive. I appreciate that it's a beautiful and complex model with a lot going on when you flip it 'round, but phew. It feels like many agree. The most up-voted comment on a reddit thread discussing the kit with 610 likes simply says "Yikes, that is way way to expensive for what it is." ( u/Snoo_28455.)

Still, cost aside, I'm intrigued to see how this works. Fans will get a chance when the set launches on September 1, 2026.

The brick-building community is clamoring for instructions after a fan put together a custom Lego Final Fantasy 7 Midgar model.

Designed by hachiroku24, "Midgar, City of Mako" is inspired by the first few hours of the 1997 PlayStation game. It's already gathering a lot of support on Lego Ideas, a platform for community-submitted designs that may actually become real models if they get enough votes. Indeed, the Lego Final Fantasy 7 design has earned 1,009 votes already after just a few days, and the consistent feedback I'm seeing on the likes of reddit is "how do I make this myself?"

Based on city sectors 5, 6, and 7, the model comes in two sections; it depicts the upper platforms used by employees of the villainous Shinra Electric Company, along with the slums underneath that house a rebellion against them. Like all the best Lego sets, there's been plenty of room for references – hachiroku24 notes that they "built the park where Cloud and Aerith have a moment together when going back to sector 7," alongside the chocobo carriage they find while on their way to the Wall Market (which is also present, if you look close enough).

That's not all, obviously; hachiroku24 managed to squeeze in plenty more fan-pleasing moments. In the top part of the build their "favorite part of this project: Midgar Expressway (that I built using a forced perspective technique, first doing that) and Cloud Strife, the main character of Final Fantasy VII riding the Daytona motorbike."

In terms of the minifigures that are featured here, there's Sephiroth (looming over the entire set), Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barret, a Shinra officer, Yuffie, Wedge, Biggs, Jessie, and Chocobo Sam.

While there's no guarantee that this will be made into a real set even if it garners enough public support (any design that wins enough support goes into a shortlist judged by Lego), we've got plenty of great designs out of the program before now. The Lego Tintin set that fans agreed was an instant buy came from Ideas, for example, as did the brilliant Nightmare Before Christmas kit that I'm still obsessed with. In other words, there's a chance we may get an official Lego Final Fantasy 7 model if the stars align.

I'd like to say it was hard to choose the best new Lego sets in August 2026, but it wasn't. Well over 100 kits have hit shelves this month, and big names like Star Wars came out swinging with awesome models too. However, three immediately stood out from the crowd.

Because there's a lot to choose from, I've rounded up my favorite new Lego sets in August 2026 right here. Top of the list? Lego Donkey Kong Arcade. Although we got 15 Pokemon kits this month (including a whole range of Smart Play figures that made our inner 10 year-old lose it), none can stand up to the brilliant elevator pitch of a retro Lego arcade cabinet you can actually play. Alright, I'll admit that the X-Files display piece and a particularly adorable Munchlax come close. But still. DK gives the best Lego sets a run for their money.

Animal Crossing

Want a display piece based on Animal Crossing rather than a traditional playset? We've got our first with Timmy and Tommy's Fun Day Out, and it's bigger than you might think. Hopefully we see more kits like this in the future, because I'm looking forward to seeing what Lego does with the increased scale. The cost isn't too bad either; it's in line with what I'd expect for a model of this size and complexity.

Architecture

Jolly old London Town makes its way to the Architecture range this month, with an impressively detailed micro-scale take on Tower Bridge. I'm taken aback at how accurate it is, though be warned that it's not as small as it might appear. The thing I'm not impressed with? That price. Holy moly, that's a lot.

Art

Here's another entry for the "famous paintings recreated with Lego" category. Although this set isn't due to launch until August 4, you can get your hands on it early from August 1 if you're signed up to Lego's free Insiders program. It's expensive, yes, but I guess you can see where the money's going with all those intricate, tiny, and creatively-placed pieces making up each figure.

Botanicals

There are just two new Lego sets from the Botanicals range in August, but they're both eye-catching enough to make up for that. While the Dark Flower Arrangement is beautiful, I like the trailing Goldon Pothos best because it captures the randomness of those plants brilliantly - it's busy enough to look like the real thing at a glance, especially with the multi-color leaves. I really struggle to keep things like this alive at home, so it's a tempting alternative so far as I'm concerned.

City

Feeling deja vu? Many of these City sets already hit other territories earlier this year, and are coming to the US for the first time in August. While I'm very keen on the steam train set, the roller coaster kit won me over because of how interactive it is.

Creator 3-in-1

The Creator range has been on a roll recently with top-notch sets, and while this won't necessarily unseat the best ones, it's very cute nonetheless - the red panda build in particular is painfully adorable, especially at just $30.

The new Editions range is showing its versatility this month; we've gone from soccer and the World Cup to OIivia Rodrigo. There are plenty of standouts here (like the flowers that have mini guitars for petals), but I think the record player is my overall favorite because it feels like the most timeless entry... and one of the easiest to display. It won't put as sizeable a dent in your bank balance as some others, either.

Friends

Friends sets launching in the US this month already got European releases in 2026, so they may seem familiar. That said, there are some very cool designs in that lineup. My heart belongs to Cozy Fall Forest Cabin - as so often happens with Lego Friends kits, I kinda want to live there because it looks so blissfully idyllic. It's on the expensive side, true, but is feature-rich and drop-dead gorgeous.

Gabby's Dollhouse

Well aren't these sets as cute as a button? I prefer the fairy mushroom house because it's so whimsical, but I do appreciate yet another roller coaster kit in August. I feel as though someone at Lego HQ recently went to a theme park, because that's a definite theme this month.

Icons

This month's new Lego sets for the Icons range recreate marvels of tech both on the ground and far above it. I appreciate the Hubble Telescope model, but the Jaguar with poppable hood that reveals an inline-6 engine steals the spotlight so far as I'm concerned. It's almost on par with Technic in terms of nerdy detail, but is far less expensive.

Ideas

It's a particularly strong month for Ideas sets, with ET being the latest '80s icon to join the range (following Gizmo a little while back). However, neither he nor the amazing La Catrina model can compete with the spectacle that is the X-Files set. That thing will draw every eye in the room to it. It comes out on August 4, but those signed up to the free Insiders program are able to get it early from August 1. Plus, I'm impressed at how much has been crammed in there considering the price; for this kind of complexity, I'd expected it to be more expensive.

Jurassic World

I'm a sucker for cute critters, OK? While the likes of the Mosasaurus set may be more impressive, the adorable baby pteranodon is the one I'd want for myself or my kid.

KPop Demon Hunters

We're getting the first of Lego's KPop Demon Hunters sets this month, and it's been brilliantly done. More are apparently en route, so I'm eager to see what else Lego is cooking up based on how well Derpy Tiger has come out. Is this one a bit expensive? Yes, particularly for the size and simplicity of the kit. But that just makes it one to watch when costs come down.

Marvel

It's been a while since Fantastic Four: First Steps hit theaters, but seeing as the team's helpful robot pal is returning in Doomsday, maybe this characterful kit is arriving just in time. It's a very intricate design; besides posable arms and head, it has storage areas for various accessories that help bring the model to life. It's also a good example of what Lego truly excels at - creating robots. Herbie translates very well to the bricks from Billund, and I'd say it's head and shoulders above other character models such as Groot because of this. (They often fall into a weird uncanny valley.)

Minecraft

Remember when everyone went feral over that Chicken Jockey scene in the Minecraft movie? Yeah, I don't particularly want to either, so I'll leave you with the knowledge that there's now a Chicken Jockey kit. (On the plus side, this one's rendered like the original video game rather than the weirdly realistic movie equivalent.)

One Piece

It's a good month if you're a One Piece fan, because there are loads in this month's roundup of new Lego sets. None can come close to how freakin' sweet Lego Tony Tony Chopper is for me, though. It's relatively affordable compared to many of the other One Piece kits too.

Pokemon

We're staring down the barrel of 15 new Pokemon Lego sets this month, and the majority are Smart Play-focused - e.g., they use Smart Bricks and Tags to bring those pocket monsters to life. The exception are Munchlax, Arcanine, and Rayquaza; these are all for-adults display pieces. I think Muchlax is my personal favorite because it's a characterful diorama with whimsy to spare (while simultaneously being one of the cheaper options), but I can't ignore how clever the Smart Play kits are. Being able to train and battle your own Pokemon will be catnip for many kids.

Sonic the Hedgehog

There are just two Sonic kits hitting shelves in August, and the big guy himself doesn't appear in either. That means his pals get their chance to shine though. Despite being fond of sword-wielding mechs and Shadow, I appreciate the Tails plane most; thanks to the addition of a bright and cheerful Badnik to battle, it feels like classic Sonic. It's pretty affordable too, which is always a plus no matter whether you want it for play or display.

Speed Champions

Two Speed Champions kits are dropping this month, adding a couple more classy rides to your collection. I don't have a particular favorite here, but I do appreciate the wild mismatch between the hyper speedy Jaguar Project and the comparatively clunky Land Rover Defender. It's giving big "tortoise vs. the hare" energy, and in terms of value it works out at double the price of one single car from the range (which makes sense, seeing as you're getting two here).

Star Wars

With the exception of a Boba Fett character figure, all of the new Lego sets from Star Wars this month are inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu movie or the TV show before it. We've waited a while for a new Sandcrawler, and this alternate design (from early in Season 1 of the series) packs so much personality due to modifications like sails that it earns my vote. Yes, it's expensive, but in terms of value there's a lot here; besides the Jawas you'd expect to accompany a Sandcrawler (which has loads of interactive elements), it includes the Mudhorn that became Mando and Grogu's sigil along with the loveable Kuiil. RIP, my sweet pig man. You were too good for this galaxy.

Super Mario

There's been a tremendous amount of buzz surround the highly interactive Donkey Kong Arcade kit, so it may come as no surprise that it's my favorite new Lego set of August 2026. It's rare to have a model you can actually 'play' with like a video game (complete with joysticks and buttons which work), so that kind of innovation helps it stand out from the crowd.

Technic

There's a strong array of cars in this month's new Lego sets drop, but I can't take my eyes off the remote control Batmobile Tumbler set. A Lego model you can actually drive? Even though I'd worry about the final result being fragile, and it's less detailed than previous versions of the Tumbler that were also several hundred dollars, it's cool enough that I really wanna give it a go anyway.

Other

We're just a couple of months away from spooky season, so Lego is starting to bring out its Halloween lineup in time for the scariest time of year. I'm a sucker for the classics, so the Halloween Pumpkin Lantern earns my vote as the best one so far; it's cheap, looks the part, and doesn't take up too much space so is the perfect addition to a shelf or desk at home.

Remember Sir Daniel Fortesque? The skeleton hero of Gallowmere and the star of the iconic PlayStation game MediEvil that released back in 1998? Well, he's back, in toy form.

The iconic skeletal knight and one of my personal favorite video game characters of all time is part of a new Console Heroes diorama, which simultaneously appeared and was marked as "sold out" at Target for $24.99 (Target), despite not yet being on sale. I fully suspect this listing is just a placeholder for when its release date is ready to drop, and I'm going to need that to be soon, as I'm desperate to own one of the only and best toys of the '90s era PlayStation hero.

I'm well aware that there's a MediEvil Funko Pop available, and it's still $40.77 at Amazon, but that's pretty pricey, and I'm not a fan of Pop figures in any shape or form. Sir Dan's inclusion in this upcoming diorama toy feels like a better fit, as even though his mini-figure looks absolutely tiny at just 1.5 inches, it goes the extra mile to include his skull-covered Silver Shield, which I've been considering getting as a tattoo for decades.

Of course, Sir Dan isn't alone in this set. It also includes figures of additional well-known PlayStation characters, including Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter, Yagi from Cool Boarders, and Axel from Twisted Metal 2. The listing at Target states that each of these includes "peggable bases" so you're free to display them inside the diorama as you see fit.

The housing of the diorama itself is also pretty spectacular. Much like the brand's SEGA-themed toys, which included replicas of Genesis carts (or Mega Drive carts if you're based in the UK like me), the housing is a replica of the original PlayStation console. The brand even went as far as to sculpt the controller ports, which you can see at the front as you open up the collectible - a detail I'm very much a fan of.

What about iconic original PlayStation-era characters like Cloud and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7? Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that this new line-up of Console Heroes toys also includes sets dedicated to the beloved RPG, but the bad news is that the $14.99 (Target) set is also listed as "out of stock" for now.

I was hoping this was because they haven't officially launched quite yet. However, a quick search of X (Twitter) reveals users like @asashii29 posted on July 30, 2026 that they were able to pre-order it for just $15, so stock might be gone for now. Which is disappointing, as I love the fact that the toy brand has re-created the burning Nibelheim as Cloud and Sephiroth's toy backdrop. Fortunately, there are no plastic 1.5-inch replicas of the townspeople dying in a fiery blaze behind them. But it's a neat reference which sets it apart from Square Enix's previously released polygon Final Fantasy 7 figures.

For you UK toy collectors, I'll be keeping an eye on these new waves of Console Hero dioramas and will update this page if and when I find stock available. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be just as easy to find on toy shelves both online and in-person as the SEGA ones before them.

A fan has put together a Lego Jimothy the Racoon, so I think it's safe to say the internet is on fine form this week.

Created by prolific builder ochre.jelly, Lego Jimothy the Racoon is causing quite the stir via social media (the original post received over 181K likes on Instagram). Recreating the dumpy trash panda from Seattle that stole everyone's hearts, this is an original build using spare parts rather than modifying one of the best Lego sets.

Unlike some other mock Jimothy sets I've seen, this one perfectly mimics the racoon's short spine that provides him with the distinctive, rotund look he's known for. It's not particularly overwrought either; it's simple enough to look like Jimothy without overdoing it, which is probably why this model works.

There are other attempts to make Jimothy in Lego, of course; this attempt by SplashiestMonk on reddit modifies the existing Creator 3-in-1 Gray Wolf set (available via Amazon or Lego itself) because it already allows you to make a full-size racoon. Shortening the body and using some extra pieces for a stubby tail seal the deal.

Naturally, these Lego models are far from the only attempts to bring Jimothy to life in fandom. Besides popping up in Guild Wars 2 (which is only right, because an ArenaNet developer's spouse first discovered Jimothy), he's also got an official stat block in D&D with abilities like hurling garbage to make the target stinky.

Even though they've just been revealed and have been available to pre-order for a few short hours, Hasbro's Avengers: Doomsday action figures are already proving difficult to find.

To be precise, a few key characters are already selling out at major retailers. Doctor Doom and the X-Men (Cyclops and Gambit) seem to be the most popular so far, with stock evaporating across the US and UK. Considering how quickly they're being snapped up, I thought it might be helpful to round up places where you can still buy the Hasbro Avengers: Doomsday action figures. (As a note, I'm only collecting the ones that are available right now - others, like the Fantastic Four and Magneto, will drop later this year.)

While I'm shocked to see these toys running out so quickly, I shouldn't be. For starters, they look fantastic; they absolutely nail the characters' on-screen look and likeness, providing the most screen-accurate collectible you're likely to find short of grabbing the (much more expensive) Hot Toys equivalents. Plus, excitement for Marvel is at an all-time high, what with the latest trailer and a slew of exciting SDCC 2026 reveals (such as Lego Avengers: Doomsday sets giving us our best look at a major returning X-Men hero). With that in mind, I suppose it makes sense that the Doomsday action figures are flying off the shelves.

This year's San Diego Comic-Con 2026 has been the epicenter for some of the best toy announcements, but Mattel's latest Skullector doll editions inspired by horror movie icons are all I can think about.

Unveiled on July 24 and sitting on display at San Diego Comic-Con Monster High Booth #3029 over the last Sunday of the nerd-fueled convention, this new doll line-up includes impeccably stylish renditions of characters from my favorite movies, including Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Universal Monsters' own Dracula. Who knew Bela Lugosi could look this fabulous? Yet, it's the upcoming Michael Myers doll that slays the most, figuratively and quite literally.

Set to launch on August 8, plenty of time before the spooky season, this new doll is a nod to Halloween II, and in typical Skullector fashion, is dripping in glorious little references. The iconic skull-pumpkin that horror fans will recognize from the film's cover is now dangling from its arm like a handbag, but more importantly, it can also be found on a tiny VHS slipcover, which hides a little video-tape which can be slotted into her high heels. Yes, this doll has VHS high-heels and I now need both it and those heels in human sizes as soon as humanly possible.

If you're sitting there wondering why this doll is based on Halloween II and not the first movie, then that's simply because Universal owns the rights to the second film. Just as my fellow horror fan and GamesRadar+ Hardware team member Phil Hayton so rightly pointed out to me, that means the doll looks like she's been through it, as the tussle with Laurie has already occurred from the original Halloween 1978 film.

Fortunately, despite all she's been through, the doll's makeup is still pretty immaculate and nothing like Michael's grubby mask in Halloween II. There's naturally still a ghostly white face to mimic the inside-out William Shatner mask look, but Monster High has swapped any scrapes and bits of dirt for glittery blood-red tears, and some killer blue and orange eye-shadow. Honestly, it's a look - and one I want to recreate this Halloween (funds permitting) after acquiring this doll for myself.

The upcoming 10.5-inch-tall Skullector Michael Myers is also dripping in glittery blood patches and has a belt featuring weapons as found in the film, from a syringe to a hatchet. A tiny scalpel would have been even better, as Michael wields one as he creeps throughout Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, but I get there's only so many accessories you can include. At least the iconic pumpkin skull motif continues throughout the collectible, including on the belt and the earrings.

As a new addition to the Monster High Skullector line-up, you won't be able to simply grab it from the toy shelves. It will be available first to Fang Club members at MattelCreations.com on August 7, 2026, later this year, and then to the general public on August 8, 2026 9am PT. If you're as consumed by this doll as I am, I recommend bookmarking the page so you're all ready to go once August rolls around to avoid missing out.

Of course, there are plenty of new horror dolls where it came from. Mattel also showed off its upcoming Oogie Boogie doll I mentioned earlier, a Skullector Krampus doll, and a series of three dolls inspired by classic Universal Monster villains, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, and the Mummy. These dolls are now available for $43.99 at Walmart, but Mattel announced that they'll be available internationally and across a wide variety of retailers starting September 1, 2026.

In fact, I've already spotted a listing for the Monster High x Universal Monsters Frankenstein Doll starting from £39.99 at Smyths Toys, so at least I know one local store I can run to to collect the set. If you're just in it for the Halloween merch, don't forget to check out the Halloween: The Game Limited Collectors Edition, which includes an 8-inch figure of the man himself.

A collection of new Lego Avengers: Doomsday sets have assembled thanks to SDCC 2026, and besides giving us a glimpse of Doctor Doom wrecking shop across the multiverse, they also provide our best look yet at a major X-Men character who hasn't appeared in any trailers or promo material.

Depicting scenes like the revamped Avengers Quinjet and New Avengers Tower, these Lego Avengers: Doomsday kits (which are all up for pre-order via Lego, by the way) are inspired by significant battles we can expect across the movie – and most of the characters featured are ones we've seen before. However, the exception comes courtesy of a tussle with Sentinels in the X-Men universe; it gives us our first glimpse of Nightcrawler.

Dubbed "Epic Battle: Avengers: Doomsday," this diorama depicts both Avengers and X-Men going to war with a Sentinel robot along with Doctor Doom himself. That includes a cutlass-wielding, gray-haired Nightcrawler wearing what looks to be a classic leather X-Men outfit from the 2000s movies. You can check it out in the official image below.

Alan Cumming's teleporting mutant has been absent from promotional material up until this point (he's not even included in the new Hasbro Doomsday action figures that break from tradition and will actually be out in time for the movie), so this is the only look at him we've had. While it would have been nice to see a more comic-accurate costume with those white gloves and distinctive red shoulder pads, this is arguably truer to Cumming's version of the character - his clothing was more ragged and cobbled together in X2.

While we only get one new reveal thanks to these Avengers: Doomsday kits, the other four are still cool. They straddle the line between playset and display piece, like many of the best Lego sets. There is one 18+ model designed specifically to go on your shelf, though: the Doctor Doom Bust, featuring an imposing statuette of Robert Downey Jr.'s villain alongside a minifigure version of the character.

Hasbro Pulse has shown off its Doomsday action figure range, and it provides a novel change for the company – these toys look as though they're actually going to be released in time for the movie.

Revealed at SDCC 2026 this weekend, the imprint showed off 12 new Doomsday action figures – many of which are up for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse now. These are all part of the Hasbro Pulse Marvel Legends line and feature everyone from Cyclops to Doctor Doom himself with high-detail sculpts and numerous accessories for more dramatic posing. A release date hasn't been announced yet, but in People's exclusive reveal, a December launch has been suggested… e.g. around the same time as Doomsday itself, which hits theaters on December 18.

This is significant because Hasbro Pulse products typically launch after the fact. Although there are a couple of exceptions (like Fantastic Four: First Steps), previous lines tended to hit shelves long after the movie in question was released. That makes these figures being shown off well before Doomsday and hitting shelves at the same time quite the break from tradition. Honestly, I'm not sorry to hear it; the hype for Avengers: Doomsday is palpable right now, so being able to snap up action figures based on it is better than having to wait until a year after launch. Especially because these toys spoil the surprising hero "powerful enough" to stop Doctor Doom.

The downside of going so early? There are some discrepancies. While most of the Hasbro Pulse Doomsday action figures match their on-screen counterparts 1:1, Doom himself is a little different because his on-screen costume has changed ever so slightly since it was first revealed. To be precise, the belt on this toy is the old design that we saw in promo material early this/last year that has since changed (figures like this tend to be based on early promo material or concept art). It's not a problem, of course, but it's a fun quirk of production of the best toys. Just a fun conversation starter for you.

Anyway, most of these Doomsday action figures should be up for pre-order now, with the others to follow in the next few months.

Shang-Chi "may be the only hero powerful enough" to stop Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday – according to a wave of new merchandise.

Marvel and Hasbro's new line of Avengers: Doomsday toys (as revealed by People) showcase a lineup of Earth's Mightiest Heroes that might make Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom think twice about taking on the Sacred Timeline.

But it's Shang-Chi who supposedly boasts the ability – and Ten Rings – to stop whatever threats come their way.

As per the Shang-Chi toy description, Simu Liu's Avenger “may be the only hero powerful enough to stop the threat the Avengers face." Bold words, indeed.

While it's been a minute since we've seen Shang-Chi in action, his standalone 2021 movie introduced his ultra-powerful skillset, courtesy of the ancient Ten Rings. They're not quite on the level of the Infinity Stones, but arguably could be enough to give Doom trouble in his universe-conquering quest.

Elsewhere, a LEGO set may have confirmed which heroes and villains will be present during one of Avengers: Doomsday's most climactic set-pieces.

The Avengers: Doomsday Comic-Con trailer already revealed that Doom would be raising a Sentinel. Now, the 'Epic Battle: Doomsday Showdown' set features Thor, Reed Richards, Mystique, Magneto, and Nightcrawler battling it out against Doctor Doom.

Given how Doom blocks Stormbreaker in the first official Avengers: Doomsday trailer, we could be looking at an X-Mansion fight taking place near the beginning of the movie, setting the scene for a Marvel crossover like no other.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in cinemas on December 18, and these Hasbro Doomsday action figures should be available around the same time.

The Inkling Squid amiibo was one of the first I ever had in my collection, far before I ever got almost 200 NFC figures deep. It came bundled with the original Splatoon on the Nintendo Wii U back in 2015, and I've been hooked on amiibo ever since - so getting the new Splatoon Raiders Deep Cut triple-pack was a no-brainer.

Here in the UK, the figures launched exclusively as a £49.99 (Nintendo) triple pack, which was a bummer as it meant my Splatoon Raiders expenses for July almost reached the £100 mark as I grabbed the new game too. However, the cost felt more than worth it when I saw the floods of detail that have been poured into these new figures. Bandage textures, transparent goggle lenses, and bases that can be placed together to take up less space on your shelf - these new Splatoon Raiders amiibo are exactly why I continue to be obsessed with Nintendo's NFC collectibles.

One of the key features of this new amiibo set was that you could "combine the bases" as advertised by Nintendo of Europe. When I first heard that, I assumed that there would be an actual mechanism that connected the Deep Cut trio together, but it's actually a lot simpler. The fake wooden plank bases are all perfectly crafted so that you can push them altogether, with Big Man at the back, Shiver to the left, and Frye to the right.

While simple, it's a design element I wish other figures released by big-name brands like Banpresto took into consideration. So often I've collected statues from the same line-up, which all need to be spaced far apart on the shelf as their bases are all random in shape and size. The Splatoon Radiers' bases mean you can add to your amiibo shelf even if you're running low on space, which I definitely am, even though I don't yet have every Splatoon amiibo release to my name (there are a lot of them).

The detail on these bases is also pretty marvelous. There's still an air of 'this is definitely plastic' to them, but their tiny wood-grain effects and lines help these figures stand out from the older Splatoon releases sporting the plain gold medallion-shaped stands.

Textures are what these figures do best. It's not just the effect of wood that's been given some due attention by whoever sculpted these fantastic toys, but fabric like the bandages wrapping up Frye's hair looks so good they could be real. You can even make out the diagonal lines of her woollen socks and see how they stretch as she sits with one foot perched upon an orange sea buoy.

While I was flummoxed by the detail, it was the Big Man himself that impressed me the most. In the game, he's holding a myriad of items left over from your helicopter incident, including a large backpack with a solar panel, saucepan, and a walkie-talkie attached. Each of these items has been sculpted with their materials and fabric taken on board. The straps of the bag include that woven interlining texture that makes me reminiscent of my school days, and you can make out the curled wire that connects to Big Man's headset. The boy himself is made up of a translucent gray plastic. When light shines through it gives the amiibo a shiny aura that makes him look like a real-life slimy stingray and not a toy you can connect to your Nintendo Switch 2.

The Switch 2 accessories are some of my favorites in the entire amiibo line-up, which is saying a lot as I fell just as much in love with the Super Mario Galaxy amiibo figures, which were released earlier this year. However, I was a bit disappointed with what they actually unlock in-game.

Once you enable amiibo functionality in Splatoon Raiders, you can tap Big Man, Shiver, or Frye to gain access to a series of three outfits for your mechanic to wear. They're all a variation of a similar-looking jumpsuit, each taking colors and elements depending on the character you tap. They're a little boring to say the least, and I would have preferred it if you could tap the amiibo again to get access to rare weapon drops, but alas, that's not the case. You can at least tap one other Splatoon series toy to get access to the Bite Waders outfit, which includes a pair of orange overalls similar to your Salmon Run gear used in Splatoon 2 and 3. But all in all, the unlocks of these figures aren't as interesting as the amiibo themselves.

Splatoon amiibo have an annoying habit of being hard to find after the initial wave of stock has sold out. If you have your eyes on this version of the Deep Cut team, I still recommend you grab them as soon as you can to avoid feeling like a fish out of water. At least in the US, you can grab each of them separately for $24.99 (Nintendo) so you can space out your Splatoon budget more than I could. Hurry up, payday- a day where I definitely will be recouping my costs and not buying more amiibo - cough.

Despite having only just been revealed, it's already proving hard to buy Hasbro Legend of Zelda action figures. Namely, I've seen one sell out already even though it's only been available to pre-order for a few hours.

With that in mind, I thought it might be helpful to track where you can currently get your hands on these toys. I've already gone on record about how good I think they are, so I'd say they're well worth grabbing - and from what I've seen so far, speed is of the essence if you want to buy Hasbro Legend of Zelda action figures. Link is selling out fast, for example (perhaps going back to the shrine for another 100 year nap).

Splatoon Raiders is finally out in the wild, which means the brand-new amiibo, which feature brand-new figures based on the iconic Deep Cut trio, are too.

Anyone who didn't pre-order these fabulous new renditions of Shiver, Big Man and Frye might first resort to retailers like Amazon to grab them today, but I'd advise against it if you don't want to overpay. While listed for £49.99 at Nintendo, they're currently as high as £57.07 at Amazon, which is a little over £7 more than they should be. As it stands, £50 is already a big ask for the trio if you're only after one character, so unless you don't mind splashing more cash than you need to, I recommend grabbing the newest figures straight from Ninty today.

Just in case anyone didn't know, the official Nintendo online store remains the best place for grabbing new amiibo in the UK. Time and time again, the official storefront has been pretty reliable for posting the latest figures (Resident Evil amiibo excluded) and ensuring they're not a penny over, which is also the case for this latest Splatoon Raiders set of collectibles.

While mine hasn't arrived yet (hurry up, postman), I made sure to pre-order the set on the Nintendo site months ago, far before the game in fact. That's because I knew that I could get them for their full £49.99 price rather than having to give in to re-sellers later if they happened to sell out. Thankfully, that's not been the case, and they're readily in stock as of typing these very words, which I recommend you jump on over alternatives like Amazon.

I know the additional £7 on the Amazon listing isn't a huge deal, but the set is already pretty pricey to begin with. As someone who's been collecting the things for over a decade, I'd much prefer fellow amiibo and Splatoon fans get a hold of them for as little as you can - and the listing price at Nintendo is exactly that.

If you're US-based, you can actually buy the amiibo separately while we're stuck with a triple pack. Shiver, Big Man, and Frye are available for $24.99 at GameStop each, which is pretty much the price you can expect across a wide range of US retailers until any future deals wash ashore.

I honestly think Hasbro getting the license to make Legend of Zelda toys is the best thing for fans.

Now, listen: I appreciate the concern about corporate giants scooping up IP so we're left with a monolithic industry run by big names. The company isn't perfect, either, so don't mistake this for blind loyalty. But Hasbro winning the license to make Legend of Zelda toys has me excited nonetheless – and it's all thanks to a galaxy far, far away.

As you probably know, Hasbro is a behemoth in the field – it has numerous companies under its belt, from the creators of Furby to D&D's Wizards of the Coast. One of these is an imprint called Hasbro Pulse, which focuses on high-quality action figures and replicas for adults based on Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, and more. Hand-to-heart, I think it produces some of the best toys around – and it just got its paws on Legend of Zelda, as revealed by its first action figures based on the series. That means fans are in for one hell of a treat.

For starters, Pulse's action figures are absurdly detailed (often using face scans of the actor in question) with premium deco accompanying a host of accessories and multiple points of articulation for more realistic poses. However, they don't come with a premium price. The six-inch Star Wars Black Series range starts at around $27.99 per figure through Hasbro Pulse, for example, and you can usually get them for significantly less at the likes of Amazon after launch. The same has proven to be true for Legend of Zelda, and considering how good they look, I don't think $28 for Link or Zelda is bad.

Yes, Ganondorf is pricier at $43. But we saw the toy in person at SDCC so can confirm it's about two or three times the thickness of the others – so that higher cost does make sense in context.

What really excites me are the replicas, though. Hasbro Pulse is also responsible for a wealth of roleplay items such as lightsabers (including my all-time favorite, the Darth Vader Force FX Elite Lightsaber), helmets, and even masks from the Marvel universe. I've found the vast majority of these to be truly excellent thanks to a host of neat interactive features, quality build materials, and impressive weathering that makes them look as though they've been stolen from a movie set. If you take that care and apply it to the Legend of Zelda universe, we'll be truly cooking. We'd get Master Swords and Hylian Shields like this replica that made us weep with pure Zelda fandom joy, sure, but that also opens up the floor to Majora's Mask or accessories like the hookshot.

Crucially, both action figures and replicas will be much easier to get hold of than anything else we've had before. Existing Legend of Zelda toys are hard to pin down and often expensive due to being out of print. Hasbro's equivalent, on the other hand? Judging by how widely available its other products are, they'd be easy to find.

Of course, there's plenty of other Hasbro-related possibilities to get excited about. Hasbro is responsible for a wealth of board and card games including Magic: The Gathering, for instance, so a crossover seems inevitable. In much the same way, I'd be surprised if a Zelda supplement of some description didn't appear in the Hasbro-owned D&D down the line. But despite all that, it's the action figures or replicas that excite me most – and that's all thanks to how good Pulse's Star Wars gear is.

The Lego Star Trek Enterprise Bridge set has officially dropped out of warp, with shields up and tribbles in tow.

Following leaks that had fans divided over price, Lego showed off its new Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701™ Bridge kit to celebrate the show's 60th anniversary. It's a recreation of the original series set with all major crewmembers at their station, but also manages to squeeze a few extras like the transporter room in for good measure (like many of the best Lego sets, the Lego Star Trek Enterprise Bridge can be displayed closed or opened up).

Made up a tongue-in-cheek 1,701 pieces (the numerical designation of Enterprise in-universe), it's crammed with practical effects like the sliding doors and transporter pads. It also features nods to numerous episodes, including the furry, fast-breeding tribbles who've stowed away on board.

The design team has clearly had a lot of fun with this kit. Besides recreating each console in impressive detail (even if I suspect a lot of them, if not most, will be stickers), there are a lot of fun or downright goofy additions that should take fans right back to the show. The doors to the bridge swish open just like they should, minifigures 'disappear' in the transporter room thanks to a dial, an old-school Klingon appears on the viewscreen, and Captain Kirk's chair 'rocks' due to turbulence – a fun reference to how the cast would hurl themselves around the set with wild abandon when the ship was "hit."

Basically, I think this set looks incredible – and as a fan I'm going nuts. However, that price gives me pause. It feels expensive for a model of this size and complexity, so I can understand fans being hesitant.

Still, it's hardly short on detail. Alongside the features we've already covered, a bunch of accessories have snuck along for the ride too. Spock's harp, a Trident Scanner, Vulcan Lirpas, dilithium crystals, and a phaser are included here. Knowing Lego, there will be a bunch of other references hidden away that we can't immediately see from promo shots.

It's already a busy week for the toy-maker; a playable Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set has been finally revealed after weeks of leaks, and you can buy it now.

Following numerous leaks including the set turning up unexpectedly at Target last week, Lego Donkey Kong Arcade has finally been revealed – and it's available now.

This 1,300+ piece model is based on the ape's first appearance in the 1981 'Donkey Kong' arcade game featuring Mario (then called 'Jump Man'), and it's due to launch this August 1 for $200. While that means the iconic girders and rolling barrels are featured, this isn't just a display piece; Lego Donkey Kong Arcade is actually playable, with the joystick and buttons moving both Mario and releasing the obstacles he's got to avoid. That's certainly more interactive than many of the best Lego sets manage.

In terms of how it works, players use the joystick to move Mario/Jump Man a short distance (about an inch or so) across the girders while pressing a button to have him hop over rolling barrels. As for those obstacles, you either pull a lever to release them or slot more into the side of the model. That puts it head and shoulders above the otherwise-excellent Lego Pac-Man Arcade, which was more of a display piece.

Not that this is the first interactive gaming set we've seen from Lego, of course. It pulled a similar trick with the NES set where you guide Mario through an iconic starter level, and recently announced a working Lego Arcade Cabinet. I'm loving this trend; it really adds value to and helps justify the cost of expensive display sets like this.

Hasbro has pulled back the curtain on its first Legend of Zelda action figures during San Diego Comic Con 2026, and they're based on one of the most beloved games in the series.

Three toys will lead the line-up next year; franchise hero Link, villain Ganondorf, and Princess Zelda herself. All of them are inspired by the versions seen in Tears of the Kingdom, and they come with a host of accessories drawn from that game (including the broken Master Sword hilt for Zelda and a Hylian Shield for Link). All three Hasbro Legend of Zelda action figures will be available for pre-order later today. They should release in Spring 2027.

Produced by company imprint Hasbro Pulse (which is known for highly detailed action figures and replicas based on everything from Star Wars to Marvel), these Legend of Zelda toys stand at around six inches tall and feature multiple points of articulation for more realistic poses.

Hasbro Pulse has a reputation for creating impressively screen-accurate figures, and these don't disappoint. They certainly rival some of the best toys in terms of attention to detail. Actually, the thing that impresses me most is how they capture the cel-shaded design of the video game perfectly; they're surprisingly close to their on-screen counterparts. That's not easy to pull off without striding headfirst into the uncanny valley.

Am I a little disappointed we didn't get classic Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf to kick things off? Yeah, but Tears is a phenomenal game that's widely beloved with its own excellent designs, so I can't say it's too much of a blow. Plus, I'd be astounded if we didn't get more old-school Legend of Zelda action figures down the road. This isn't gonna be a one and done situation thanks to how broad the licensing deal is.

Indeed, this is just the start. As revealed last week, Hasbro has the license to produce all kinds of toys and games based on the series. Seeing as Hasbro Pulse creates props like helmets and lightsabers, I wouldn't be surprised if we got replicas based on Zelda mainstays like the Master Sword or Majora's Mask at some point.

I’ve been looking forward to getting my Empire-loving mitts on the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394). Not only is the capital ship one of the most iconic vessels from the Original Trilogy, but its pair of playset predecessors are some of the best Lego set classics in their own right. You have to go all the way back to 2006’s set 6211 to witness Billund’s first iteration of this menacing triangular spacecraft, and what a marvelous effort it was for the time.

Jump to 2014, and Lego released set 75055, which was immediately considered the definitive offering. Due to the Star Destroyer’s rather simplistic, angular shape, you’d be hard-pressed to find a set that’s been around this long while physically changing so little. The very latest incarnation that I’m reviewing today might be the smallest of the bunch, but it also has the most pieces.

Although it isn’t named as such by Lego, this particular incarnation is evidently Devastator, which served as Darth Vader’s flagship in both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Episode IV: A New Hope before the Dark Lord of the Sith transitioned to the Super Star Destroyer Executor.

Evidence of this can be found in an information-panel sticker that features both R2-D2 and C-3PO, as well as the presence of a Commander Praji Minifigure, who tells Vader that the Death Star plans were not aboard the Tantive IV at the beginning of A New Hope. If this playset can get close to my glowing Dark Falcon (75389) review, it'll be impressive, most impressive. So, let’s crack open the box and get building to find out if Lego’s latest star destroyer is a resounding success or has failed me for the last time…

Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394): Features

• Seven minifigures

The Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) retails for $159.99 / £149.99 and hovers just below or just within Lego’s price-per-piece average (depending on where you look). Although the Star Destroyer has shrunk over time, it’s still one of Lego Star Wars’ most substantial playsets, beaten only by The Dark Falcon and the recently announced Offworld Sandcrawler and Mudhorn (75453).

Pieces don’t tell the whole story, but if you compare the Imperial Star Destroyer’s price point and 1,555 piece count to the Battle of Felucia Separatist MTT (75435), which has just 976 pieces and retails for $159.99 / £139.99, it starts to look like a decent deal. And the MTT isn't a one-off; several other medium-to-large playsets are similarly priced. I have also seen the Imperial Star Destroyer available with healthy discounts, so you should be able to pick it up for less if you’re patient.

Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394): Build

• Four-hour build
• May prove too repetitive for younger builders

Putting together the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) will be very familiar to anyone who’s built a Star Destroyer playset before, particularly the previous 2014 offering, which uses many of the same build techniques. You still build up the interior first, before applying a triangular Technic chassis, which houses the fold-out paneling.

The set comprises 1,555 pieces, split across 14 paper-bagged sections and took me just over four hours to put together. If you haven’t built a Star Destroyer playset before, it’s a fun experience. It’s rather unusual when building a large vessel to start by piecing together and detailing the interior almost immediately. You then move on to the framework of the rear, construct the carrying handle, and piece together the triangular chassis. I was particularly impressed with how hinged pieces are used to angle Technic pins so that they fit snugly into the slanted beams.

The engines and command bridge come next; the bridge is very similar to the 2014 model in that it relies on clips so that each panel faces outwards and is angled accordingly. You then move onto the huge side panels before progressing onto the surprisingly chunky top panel. The turret mechanism is virtually the same as the one on the 2014 Star Destroyer and is a classic case of: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Rather than an overly complicated Technic arrangement, the mechanism is built entirely with classic Lego pieces that simply slide back and forth to swivel each row of turrets in unison.

The difficulty of this build is roughly what you’d expect from a big Lego Star Wars ship. Some occasionally challenging Technic sections require a little bit of force to get each pin to slot in place, but most of the time is spent laying down large tiles. I find this process to be rather therapeutic, but the size and symmetrical nature of this playset means there’s a lot of repetition that will no doubt challenge the attention span of younger builders.

The monotone gray aesthetic does mean you have to pay attention, as it’s very easy to pick up the wrong tile length or accidentally place a piece a stud or two off position. As always, kudos to Lego for splitting the minifigures evenly across the build, so there’s always something for youngsters to play with while an adult helps out with the ship.

If you've read any of my Lego reviews before, you’ll know that I’m not a fan of stickers. This set has 13 stickers and while I’d still prefer more printed pieces in this price range, most of the stickers represent information panels, which are a necessity. I also like the inclusion of R2-D2 and C-3PO on one of the panels and the holographic information panels at the rear of the ship with schematics for both the Star Destroyer, a couple of TIE Fighters and what looks like a map of the system the ship is in orbit.

Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394): Design

• Display worthy
• Full interior
• Plenty of playability

Lego’s shrinkflation has been well documented, so I wasn’t surprised when I learned that this would be the smallest Star Destroyer playset to date. However, it’s a good example of how a smaller set doesn’t have to compromise heavily on accuracy, features and playability.

This is quite simply the best-looking Star Destroyer playset Lego has ever created. It’s subtly flatter than the previous models, which is more accurate to the prototype, although the removable mid-section beneath the command bridge is still a bit too chunky, giving the ship a slightly stylized aesthetic. That said, it's still a playset that could sit alongside Lego models intended for display and it wouldn't look out of place.

A subtle design choice I particularly like is the decision to remove most of the dark-gray bricks that are dotted around the previous two models. The monotone finish is more in keeping with the Star Destroyers seen in the movies. And that's not the only change that's resulted in a cleaner finish...

Lego has completely hidden the carrying handle behind two hinged doors. It’s a simple touch, but a welcome one that delivers a sleeker aesthetic. Large playsets tend to be a little bit delicate, so I’m always pleased to find a sturdy handle that kids can use to swoop and swish the ship around.

Finally, the 2014 model has green flick-fire missiles, too, but the fluorescent rear of each missile is visible, which isn’t prototypical and creates a decidedly toyish look. In the new set, all but the tip of each missile is completely enclosed, with a simple Technic beam mechanism on each side, which you press down to fire the missiles. It’s a genius and simple solution that elevates the exterior greatly.

All of these changes have made for a more accurate, sleeker and overall tidier exterior that looks more like a display model than a playset, which is a huge compliment. My only complaints are that just three of the seven rear thrusters house clear blue cylindrical pieces to represent firing ion engines. And finally, a few rounded plates on the base would have made the ship glide along carpets more easily during play.

You’d think that the interior would really highlight the smaller scale, but this might just be my favorite Star Destroyer interior yet, with a couple of caveats. Getting to the interior requires gently removing the central structure beneath the bridge. This isn’t connected to anything, which can feel a little suspect, but I’ve found it to be solid enough and much more accessible for youngsters than having to remove pins or unclip pieces. The side flaps then simply fold out flat.

I’ve always thought that the interiors on the 2006 and 2014 models were a little sparse. You had more real estate for figures, but the detail was lacking. What I like about this latest model is that the interior feels busier. At the front you’ve got a bridge section and at the rear you’ve got a desk with an information pad and coffee cup, storage boxes, two large holographic panels, a holotable that represents an ensuing battle, and what looks like a medical station with a panel, a syringe and flap that houses a bacta tank. There’s plenty of room to position minifigures and overall I think this is a fantastic interior.

The only shortcoming is the front bridge section. It’s more cramped than the 2014 model and the only place where I feel the smaller size lets the ship down. Not only is it a bit of a squeeze to sit figures in the two available seats, but one seat isn’t even aligned with an information panel, which seems like a bit of an awkward oversight. Personally, I wish the designers had moved the wall that’s next to the seats back just two studs to create a little more room.

Seven minifigures are a good haul for a set of this size. Although he’s one of the most replicated characters in minifigure form, Darth Vader is my pick of the bunch. This variant was available via the now-discontinued Darth Vader Mech (75368) and can also be picked up via the new Darth Vader Bust (75439). He features what I think is the best face print to represent Sebastian Shaw’s unmasking during Return of the Jedi and is a premium offering with printed arms, legs, hips, and torso (front and back).

This Vader sports the traditional, stiff cape, although I do prefer the softer fabric that’s more prevalent nowadays; but that’s personal preference. As always, the helmet is exquisite – arguably the best helmet Lego has ever produced! It’s beautifully moulded and split into two pieces, so you can remove the helmet to reveal the bevor beneath.

Commander Praji is the only other named Minifigure, apart from the bonus Cal Kestis ‘fig’, who I’ll get to later. As with most imperial officers, there’s a limit to what Lego can do given the inherent simplicity of their uniforms. Praji has some decent sideburns going on in A New Hope, so it’s a shame these weren’t added to the face print; otherwise, you’ve got a simple officer’s hat and torso (front and back) printing.

Praji is one of three figures that are exclusive to this set, along with Cal Kestis and the Imperial Gunner. Only the latter’s female face print differs from other recent incarnations. This is a solid figure with leg, hip and torso (front and back) printing, along with a neat molded helmet with an Imperial emblem and some colored buttons.

The Imperial Navy Trooper is the weakest trooper minifigure. He only has torso (front and back) printing, but I do like the chinstrap on the dual face print and the molded helmet looks the part. The Imperial Crew Member Minifigure is also available in the Lego Death Star (75419), but other similar variants have been available before. He’s a low-key highlight, with torso (front and back), hip and leg printing, as well as a lovely face print that features a headset. Definitely this set’s understated gem.

And finally, the Stormtrooper minifigure might be one of the easiest troopers to come by, but it’s also one of my favorites. This one is a female variant, and while a non-articulating helmet is a frustration for some collectors, it has never bothered me. I love the way this figure looks. She has leg and torso printing (front and back). Arm and hip printing would be a welcome upgrade, but blank white spaces don’t detract from what is a top-tier trooper minifigure with a helmet mold that rivals even Vader’s.

Cal Kestis isn’t technically part of this Star Destroyer’s official Minifigure roster because he’s an exclusive figure in celebration of Lego Star Wars’ 25th anniversary. Seven anniversary figures were available in various sets, but Cal is one of the most sought-after due to being the beloved main protagonist from the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor video games. This is also the very first time he’s been replicated in minifigure form. He’s dressed in his attire from the first game and features torso (front and back), hip, leg, foot and dual face printing, as well as a printed anniversary display base. He’s a great figure, but I do think it’s a shame he doesn’t come with his droid companion BD-1.

Should you buy the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394)?

In a Lego Star Wars galaxy of medium-sized playsets and evermore ambitious Ultimate Collector Series behemoths, I’m still very much of the opinion that a good-quality large playset is the sweet spot for many child and adult brick fanatics alike. And with the retirement of the Millennium Falcon (75257), the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) is one of only two sets (available at the time of writing) that scratch that itch.

But as much as I love The Dark Falcon, the multi-verse-esque theme isn’t for everyone. I’m therefore over the moon (that’s no moon!) that this latest Star Destroyer is an absolute hit. The downsizing will anger some hardcore collectors, but it’s difficult to fault the execution. As far as I’m concerned, this is Lego’s best-looking Star Destroyer playset from the outside and inside. Sure, the command bridge interior is a little cramped, but this is the first Star Destroyer playset where the entire interior is interesting to look at.

If you already own a Star Destroyer playset – particularly the previous 2014 version – this is a refinement, not a major overhaul. But bar the aforementioned bridge and a slightly chunky midsection, I’m finding it hard to imagine how the formula could be improved upon at this scale.

To top everything off, you get a decent roster of seven minifigures. Some of the troopers are a little bit basic, but Darth Vader and that 25th-anniversary Cal Kestis are highlights. It’s hard to think of a Lego Star Wars capital ship that was a dud. Which reminds me, now the Imperial Star Destroyer is in the bag, can we have a follow-up to the Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (8039) please, Lego?

How I tested the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394)

My army of astromech droids and I built the Lego Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75394) in six sittings, where it took just over four hours to build. It sat in my study for a couple of weeks so I could admire it and during the photo shoot, I made sure it was moved, swooshed and played with to test its durability as a toy.

I’ve been collecting Lego since the ‘90s, so you can bet your last galactic credit that I’m passionate about Billund’s bricks. And if there’s one thing I like just as much as Lego, it’s Star Wars, so the two together is a match made in Alderaan.

Slideshow and Hot Toys recently unveiled an incoming sixth-scale figure of Luna Snow, and the preview images are remarkable. Just like the rest of their lineup, the premium toy brand has gone the extra mile to include ice effect accessories so the fictional K-pop star looks like she's healing you in real time. Yet while I'm absolutely the kind of gal who would love to add one of the best toys I've seen based on a Marvel Rivals character on her shelf, I'd much rather dedicate a space for the Hot Toy's Deluxe Version Jeff the Land Shark instead.

Jeff already has plenty of toy representation, from plushie blind boxes to figure kits, but this is his most detailed collectible I've seen so far. Everything from his pointy teeth to his dangling gold collar is on show. But the Deluxe Version goes a step further to include a real plush onesie, so you can display him in his Incognito Dolphin skin. Not to mention, while human-based Hot Toys can start at $200+, this little guy is available to pre-order for $129.99 (BigBadToyStore) / £85 (Sideshow Collectibles) instead - a price that makes me want to finally invest in these high-end figures.

Hot Toys figures are notoriously some of the priciest collectibles you can get your hands on, which is why I still haven't got one. However, their price isn't entirely unjustified. If you've ever laid your eyes on these impressive pieces in person, as I do regularly at my closest Forbidden Planet, you'll know that they're full of detail. The human-based figures, like the recently unveiled Luna Snow, include a silicone body so you don't see all the nasty joints that are more common with cheaper video game-based merchandise.

Not to mention, typically all the clothes on these models are made from actual fabric and can be swapped out for additional outfits as you see fit. Think of them like high-end premium dolls, and you'll get the idea of what Hot Toys is all about. Unfortunately, the Hong Kong-based brand's Jeff the Land Shark release isn't articulated like Luna, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun with this little guy.

The Deluxe Edition Jeff comes with a removable Incognito Dolphin outfit, but you also get two interchangeable heads to vary up his pose. One is just his little cheeky smile, while the other includes a set of two tongues that you can pose in different ways. Now, if only they'd include a closed-eye happy Jeff face and release a Marvel Rivals Emma Frost so I can recreate their adorable duo emote, and then I'd be a happy girl.

If you don't care too much about recreating one of Jeff's most iconic in-game outfits, you can grab the non-deluxe version instead. It's a little cheaper at just $104.99 at Big Bad Toy Store, but you'll still get both sets of interchangeable heads. The little dorsal fin accessory is purely for the deluxe edition. However, if you're desperate to have some representation of Jeff's adorable Bruce the shark/Jaws impression, you can grab the Marvel Legends Venom & Jeff the Land Shark two-pack instead.

It contains a tiny Jeff fin accessory of its own, and unlike Hot Toys, Jeff has an articulated head, should you want to make him look even cuter - if such a thing were ever possible.

After recently winning the license, Hasbro has teased its first Legend of Zelda action figures with a couple of iconic accessories – and these suggest which game the toys will be based on.

In a cryptic Instagram post that suggests "The hero's journey begins tomorrow," Hasbro Pulse (creator of the Star Wars Black Series line, e.g. some of the best toys in the biz) showed off miniature versions of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield that will presumably come with its first Legend of Zelda action figures. That in itself isn't a surprise; it stands to reason that a version of franchise hero Link with his most recognizable weapons will be front and center. However, what's interesting is the design used here. This Hylian Shield uses the same aesthetic introduced in Skyward Sword and continued through Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, suggesting that Hasbro's initial wave will be based one of those games.

If I had to guess, I'd assume we're getting Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom Link as our first Hasbro Legend of Zelda action figure. It'd certainly make sense; both games were wildly popular and are very much in the public zeitgeist, so it'd be logical to use them as the basis for a brand-new wave of toys.

There is another possibility, of course; that Nintendo has carried over the Skyward Sword shield design to its Ocarina of Time remake, and these action figures are based on that new game. I doubt it, though. We've not seen anything of the remake beyond a teaser trailer, so I'm not sure we'd get our first look at the revitalized character designs via these action figures.

The truth is finally out there, because a Lego X-Files set is on the way.

Recreating Mulder's basement office below a forest clearing and hovering UFO, this massive Lego X-Files set is elaborate; it's effectively two scenes stitched together in 1,400 pieces that you can separate or display together. While Mulder and Scully minifigures are obviously a given here, they're not alone – you're also getting six others including a classic gray alien and The Flukeman.

Like so many of the best Lego sets, this is the kind of model engineered to make fans let out an appreciative whistle – and maybe a choice expletive – at how many nostalgic references have been crammed into this kit. Teeny pencils lodged in Mulder's office ceiling or the iconic "I want to believe" poster are just the start of it.

This model hasn't just emerged out of nowhere like its mysterious UFO, though. It's inspired by a fan's design that was voted into being by both the community and Lego itself.

Lego X-Files has one last trick up its sleeve too. If you're quick enough, you can get your hands on a Scully's Lab mini-build as a gift-with-purchase. This is only available while stocks last between August 1-10.

It's certainly shaping up to be a busy few months for the toy maker. Between the leaked Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set and an apparent Lego Star Trek bridge dropping across August and September respectively, we've got a stacked release schedule on our hands. A new Lego Star Trek bridge set is on the way according to leaks, and it'll recreate the original series Enterprise complete with its most notable crew members.

Apparently found in-store by a fan and posted to reddit, the kit is an ode to the Enterprise bridge set from 1966 with more than a few practical effects inspired by the show itself – sliding doors, a transporter room that 'beams up' minifigures, and a captain's chair that rocks to simulate the cast throwing themselves around when the ship got damaged. Accessories taken directly from the series (like the trusty tricorder, phaser, and those troublesome Tribbles) are included too, not to mention an old-school Klingon on the viewscreen. It's smaller than the previous Lego U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D kit, but it's arguably more jam-packed with Easter eggs.

Speaking of those minifigures, it looks as though there are enough to rival some of the best Lego sets. From my count, there are eight: Captain Kirk, Spock, Doctor McCoy, Uhura, Scotty, Sulu, Chekhov, and Christine Chapel. These make up part of the Lego Star Trek bridge's alleged 1,701 pieces, which in itself is a fun reference – the original series Enterprise was designated NCC-1701.

While this is all very cool, fan response has been mixed in terms of the price. This kit is supposed to arrive on September 1 for $200, which has many wincing. "Actually insane," writes MrBrightside711. "Compare this to the office. it should be $150 max and even that is pushing it." Another commenter agrees, quoting the old Friends Apartment kit that was 2,000+ pieces with seven minifigures… but cost $180.

Price aside, I'm glad we're at least getting these separate bridge kits (if the leaks are to be believed, anyway). It's something I've personally wanted since Lego first announced its Star Trek line, and the only thing I'd like to see more would be midi-scale models like the Lego Millennium Falcon for each of the major ships – the various Enterprises, Voyager, Discovery, etc.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for leaks, and someone managed to build the leaked Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set early.

Another day, another case of the leaked Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set appearing in the wild.

Someone seems to have actually bought and built the model after it turned up at Target last week, and their finished build on reddit gives us our best look yet at how the leaked Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set works. For starters, yes: even though it's a display piece like many of the best Lego sets, it's 'playable' and allows you to roll barrels from the top right down to the bottom. However, it looks like Mario/Jump Man is true to his name and mainly leaps over the obstacles rather than having a full range of movement across those girders. This becomes clear when the builder flips the kit round to show off its back, which has exposed parts to make it all work.

While there's a lot of love for the Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set itself, fans in the replies have mixed opinions about these exposed workings; some think it's neat to see how the sausage gets made, while others would prefer them to be covered up like the Lego Pac-Man Arcade kit. I'm with them – while I appreciate that this more industrial look keeps costs down, it being a true mini arcade cabinet would elevate the overall design.

Regardless, this isn't the only Lego DK news floating around after the weekend. Indeed, this video follows another surprise leak. Argos in the UK went early with its listing and quickly took all those juicy promo shots down, but not before someone managed to save it all via reddit.

While it's a little baffling that Lego hasn't come out and officially revealed this kit following retailer leaks and fan builds, but the existence of an Argos listing (even if it's since been removed) suggests that a full reveal is on the way shortly. I'd be amazed if we didn't get an official announcement either today or tomorrow, so keep a close eye out.

It's been 25 years since Final Fantasy 10 Jecht-shotted its way onto the PlayStation 2 in Japan on July 19, 2001. I feel like I could turn into a big pile of dust at any moment, as I remember playing the game shortly after release and being bewitched by the world of Spira. I even went through a period as a teen where I'd stretch my hands out and bow like I was praying to Yevon to friends and family; that's how much the game became part of my personality.

These days I settle for collecting the best toys rather than roleplaying as summoner Yuna, and there's plenty of merch out there. To celebrate 25 years of Final Fantasy 10, you can get your hands on an LP Vinyl Set of the soundtrack, which features a curated selection of 20 of Nobuo Uetmatsu's amazing tracks. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of the Suteki Da Ne music box, which contains a small and adorable rendition of the song that plays during one of the game's best cutscenes.

If you don't want to collect merch that'll make you cry, there are plenty of TCG accessories too. Final Fantasy 10 characters have featured within both the official Final Fantasy TCG and Magic: The Gathering, so there's sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats available featuring Tidus and Yuna. The official Square Enix online store has also rolled out new plushies available to pre-order, so you can soon give the pair a cuddle, which they sorely need after the events of the game. If you know, you know.

With 25 years under its belt, there's too much Final Fantasy 10 merch to list, so I've just picked out some of my favorite and widely available favorite pieces. As a heads up, some of these are pre-order items like that fabulous Eternal Calm LP Vinyl set. It's definitely worth grabbing before resellers get their hands on it, as it may be your last chance.

Hasbro has locked in a new licensing partnership with Nintendo to produce The Legend of Zelda toys and products from 2027 (quick, someone play the treasure-chest-opening sound effect).

Although it's still early days, the first reveals will come in just a few days; three 6-inch figures are going to be revealed during San Diego Comic Con, which takes place between July 23-26. However, these Legend of Zelda toys aren't just going to be limited to action figures. By the sounds of it, this deal includes all kinds of products – and because Hasbro produces everything from plushies and roleplay replicas to tabletop games, it's possible that Link and co will join the best board games as well as the best toys.

Hasbro's president of toys and board games, Billy Lagor, says that the “Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery [for decades]. By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures."

Considering how few and far between Zelda toys have been up until now (they're largely limited to the Nintendo Store or replica items from the likes of Paladone at Amazon), this is likely to be encouraging news for fans who'd like to see more Legend of Zelda merch based on the franchise. I'm not concerned about quality, either; Hasbro is responsible for everything from the incredibly detailed Marvel Legends action figures to high-quality helmet/lightsaber replicas from Star Wars The Black Series, so it has a track record.

Hasbro is also a giant in the industry with access to some of the world's biggest IP, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that we'll see high-profile crossovers in the not-so-distant future. It owns the organization that makes the best Nerf blasters, for example, so I think we can count on a tie-in Zelda blaster at some point. In much the same way, it also heads up Wizards of the Coast – the organization that makes D&D and Magic: The Gathering. Whether fans of those games would want a Zelda tie-in is up for debate (it's a fierce argument right now, with MTG head designer Mark Rosewater saying fans must adapt or "walk away" if they don't like Universes Beyond), but it's now a possibility at least.

It's certainly been a fruitful year for Hasbro so far; just a few months ago, the company announced that it had gained the Harry Potter merch rights (which makes an MTG crossover feel inevitable). In addition, it recently got the license to produce KPop Demon Hunters toys as well.

A leaked Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set based on the character's first appearance is now being spotted in brick-and-mortar stores, and the packaging seems to confirm what we suspected - it's actually playable.

Following an earlier leak that showed off its boxart, price, and release date, the Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set has shown up in Target. According to user taswellow on reddit, they found a copy just hanging out on shelves despite not having been announced yet. "They said I couldn't buy it but I could take pictures," taswellow notes, proceeding to show off rear box art which highlights working elements that make this model "playable."

Well, to a degree. While Mario/Jump Man seems stuck on a single level, you can move him and make him leap over obstacles via the joystick and buttons at the bottom of the kit. Just like in the original arcade game, barrels will also roll across the stage - either released by Donkey Kong or inserted via a slot in the side of the build. It may not be as playable as the original, sure, but it's certainly more interactive than most of the best Lego sets.

While a pinch of scepticism is understandable in today's landscape of AI recreations, I sincerely doubt this is fake. For one thing, its box art matches the previous leak exactly. In addition, the rear packaging features close-up 'action' shots that are simply too consistent and complex for an AI to ape (heh) without making a goof.

We don't have official confirmation from Lego yet, but judging by the fact that the Lego Donkey Kong Arcade set has now appeared in a major chain means its full reveal must be imminent. Keep your eyes here or on the Lego store over the next few days, in other words - we'll let you know as soon as it's confirmed.

This isn't the only leak that turned out to be real in July; following leaked screenshots, an absurdly accurate Lego Spongebob Squarepants set was shown off.

Hallmark has unveiled its latest line of gaming-themed ornaments, and that includes a PlayStation console figure which actually plays the iconic startup sound when you press the power button.

You can see the ornament in action via the Hallmark store, and it feels like a cheap form of time travel; I don't know about you, but I was momentarily yanked back to the '90s after hearing that sound. The green power light at the front of the console actually lights up when you press the button too, so Hallmark is clearly going for broke in terms of nostalgia so far as this PlayStation ornament goes.

I do have questions about how loud this will actually be in person, but even if it's on the quiet side, that's still a damn cool feature. Indeed, it's cool enough to be one of the better PlayStation gifts out there – I can see it being a fun keepsake to keep on the shelf. There's no reason you have to keep the ornament hanger in, after all.

This is just one of Hallmark's 2026 ornaments, though. While you'll find everything from Disney figures (including Disneyland references like Pirates of the Caribbean or Soarin') to movies, many are gaming-related. These range from a Tears of the Kingdom Link (complete with rousing musical score) to Eevee-lutions. You can even get a Yoshi who pops out of its egg with the accompanying video game sound.

I've listed them below, and it looks like the vast majority are available now.

I'm not the biggest fan of Nintendo's Talking Flower toy.

Its random quips incessantly telling me that the "ocean tastes like tears" and probing whether or not I've "had lunch yet" are just as annoying as our best toy expert Benjamin warned me they'd be. As a result, this talking toy talks no more and has become a silent display piece amongst my Switch game collection. But while he doesn't get much use anymore, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Nintendo online store sells parts for $4.99 each (Nintendo) for the flowery fella, should I ever need them.

You can grab two replacement parts in total for the Talking Flower, should anything happen to the annoying chattering toy - and I can think of a few possible scenarios. The first is a replacement Pot Cover, which is that brown plastic base that covers up the buttons and the small LCD display hidden on the underside of the toy.

This cover is what keeps the Talking Flower standing upright, so it's plenty helpful that Nintendo chose to make replacements readily available for anyone willing to spend $4.99 (Nintendo) on one. Not to mention, it's fully removable and is not constantly attached to the flower in any way, so I can easily foresee it going missing in the wrong hands.

Nintendo also has a Talking Flower Battery Cover available for $4.99 (Nintendo), which, as you can guess from its name, is to replace the one that's located under that small display I mentioned earlier. The battery cover requires being screwed in, so I can't foresee too many instances where it could go missing, but it's a nice pro-consumer inclusion nonetheless.

What Nintendo doesn't sell on the Nintendo US online store is a way to erase the memory of having to put up with the Talking Flower's irritating chatting, but I won't hold it against them. At least, should I ever feel the need to take my delayed rage out on this plastic guy, I know that I can pick up some replacement pieces to keep him looking as shiny and new as the day I got him.

An enormous Lego Spongebob Squarepants set has been revealed, and it recreates Bikini Bottom in all its cartoon glory. However, while fans are loving its look, they're not so keen on the pricing.

Following a leak earlier this week which fans were already going nuts over ("holy shit it's peak" was my favorite comment on the reddit thread discussing the idea), the toymaker just showed off the set ahead of its September 1 release date. Made up of 1,700+ pieces, Lego Spongebob Squarepants: Bikini Bottom recreates the cartoon's underwater neighbourhood with impressive accuracy to match the best Lego sets. It also comes with three minifigures; Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward, not to mention brick-built figures for Gary the Snail and DoodleBob. The downside? It costs $220, or £190 if you're based in the UK.

In terms of what the community's saying, responses seem very positive on social media about how it looks... but are less glowing when it comes to that price. On a reddit thread discussing the kit, commentor KaiTheGenshinGuy writes that "It's one of my favourite Lego sets already but the price is terrible." This is a pretty consistent response across the thread, and anecdotally speaking, it's common feedback that I've been seeing elsewhere.

Still, if that price tag has you wincing, don't worry – Lego's got another Spongebob set for you. A smaller, $12.99/£10.99 BrickHeadz kit is due on September 1 as well.

The thing I can't get over is how screen-accurate the Bikini Bottom set is here; it looks as though it's been dragged off our TVs and laid out in the real world by some eldritch sorcery. Everything from the building dimensions to those distinctive tinted windows makes it feel incredibly true to the show, and it's far closer to the real deal than the last Bikini Bottom kit we got in 2012. That was a lot cheaper, so it had fewer pieces to play with, true, but I think the design team is still cooking with this 2026 upgrade. It reminds me of last year's excellent Lego Krusty Burger; it really captures the spirit of the show.

Just like Krusty Burger, this kit is chock-full of references once you flip the buildings around. Lego promises "feature-rich interiors with nods to iconic storylines," and a quick examination shows off references like Squidward's clarinet and a portrait of Gary the snail. In other words, it's a love letter to the long-running show.

While I'm loving the dollshouse-like interiors, my favorite element is how they've managed to give everyone the right, distinctive shape despite being minifigures. Patrick is suitably rotund, Squidward has an original head sculpt rather than the usual cylinder, and Spongebob is basically a square with arms and legs (as he should be). It doesn't feel like any corners have been cut. As demonstrated by this reddit thread on the evolution of Lego Squidward over the years, it's also clear how far we've come.

Considering how a Lego Donkey Kong arcade set just got leaked as well, I'm hoping we'll get an official reveal for that too in the coming days.

A new Lego Spongebob Squarepants set seems to have leaked, and fans are in agreement that it looks incredible.

The toy-maker is no stranger to hyper-accurate recreations (just look at the best Lego sets if you want an example), but this cartoony Lego Spongebob Squarepants set has struck a chord. "Holy shit it's peak," writes Smitty__0099 on the reddit thread outlining the kit. Ok-Range6568 goes one further by calling it "outrageously good looking. One of the best licensed sets Lego has ever put out."

I get where they're coming from. Supposed promotional images show Bikini Bottom in a picture-perfect cartoon style that nails the show's signature look, and at a glance it could have been ripped from your TV screen. It's weighed down with extras too, from minifigs of Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward to a host of references fans should recognize right away.

So, the obvious question is: can we believe this leak? It apparently comes from new leaker buggyleaks on Instagram, and while their lack of content makes me suspicious, they've been on the money so far. They successfully tipped everyone off about August's Lego ET a few days before the official announcement, for example. That means I'm more willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Plus, the apparently leaked photos match Lego's style for both lifestyle images (the kit in a homey environment, usually on a shelf or table) and back-of-box photography (the set's rear can be seen against a black background). Everything from the minifigures to accessories matches between those two shots as well, which wouldn't be the case if this was constructed using something like AI.

If it does indeed end up being real, I'm stoked for it. We've seen a Lego version of Bikini Bottom before in a 2012 model, but that one was far less detailed and has been long out of print. By comparison, this is way more screen-accurate and feature-rich.

That does come at a literal cost, though; the leaked Lego Spongebob Squarepants set will apparently set you back $219.99 when it launches "either September or November 1, 2026."

We'll have to wait and see if this set is legit, but if those promo shots are real, I can't imagine we'll be hanging around long.

It looks as though it's going to be a good few months for Lego fans, because a leaked Lego Donkey Kong set looks like it might continue a trend I'm loving so far. As for other cool but confirmed gear, why not drop in on our guide to the best toys?

Another day, another leak, as it seems as though the new Lego Donkey Kong has been shown off early.

After new Pokemon kits leaked last week (followed by their subsequent reveal), the Lego community is at it again with a sneak peek of yet another Nintendo-themed model via Reddit. This takes us back to the beginning with an arcade version of Jump Man, and by the looks of it, this Lego Donkey Kong set could be playable.

To be precise, the leak (which shows off supposed box art for this model) shows what looks to be rolling Lego barrels and a pixel Mario icon that has a pole at its back… suggesting you can move the plumber around obstacles. I could be wrong, of course, but if you zoom in, it's possible to spot 'motion' circles behind the brown wooden barrels. This, to me, implies movement.

Provided the leak is real, of course. While it's worth taking anything like this with a pinch of salt, I'm convinced. Besides matching Lego's standards for box design, it also uses the same barrel design we saw in a Lego Mario teaser from a few months back. That in itself suggested a Jump Man-inspired kit, so this just makes good on the promise.

If this Lego Donkey Kong set is playable (to a degree, anyway), it takes after this month's working Lego Arcade Cabinet. While you won't be earning points like a real machine, it's not just a display piece.

Comments under the leak seem in favor of it, but one feature seems to have disappointed fans – it isn't a true arcade shape, a la the Lego Pac-Man Arcade. "Cute, though I guess I was kind of hoping it would be a model of the actual arcade cabinet," says ComradeKits24. I agree; I think it's a neat design that really captures the original look, and the 3D text along the top is a cool addition, but a full cabinet would have sealed the deal.

The Super Mario Wonder amiibo line-up was a big deal when they launched alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game earlier this year. The set marked Captain Toad's debut in amiibo debut, and now the adorable adventurer just got another first- its first-ever discount.

The amiibo trio launched for $24.99 on March 26, 2026, but the entire lineup is now a little over $5 off each at Walmart today. That includes not just Captain Toad and the Talking Flower by his side, but the Poplin & Prince Florian and Elephant Mario figures, the latter of which is currently sitting amongst my ever-growing collection. Out of my 150+ figures, Elephant Mario is one of the most detailed yet, and if Toad and Poplin are anything like him, this set is well worth adding to your collection, discount or not.

I know a little over $5 off might not seem like a big deal, but it should be if you're an amiibo collector and want to add more of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories to your setup. These figures are currently sitting on the digital Nintendo online store shelves for their full $24.99 MSRP, which makes these discounts a bit of a rarity.

Typically, it's the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Street Fighter 6 figures that are prone to discounts, not these 2026 releases. With that in mind, it's nice to see other characters drop down in price, especially when these are some of the most detailed amiibo I've seen so far.

When the Elephant Mario arrived at my door shortly after launch, I was hugely impressed. Not only is he a bit larger than what I'm used to, but the quality control is exquisite. There are no visible sculpt or mould lines, and every drop of paint is exactly where it should be. Better yet, Mario's overalls include a denim-like texture, and he's even got a unique base that perfectly ties into the floral world of Super Mario Bros Wonder, which makes it stand out amongst the rest of my collection.

If you're eager to add Elephant Mario to your gaming shelf, I recommend grabbing him along with the rest of the Super Mario Bros Wonder amiibo line-up while these discounts last. They're even worthwhile at full price, but there's a collective $15 saving to be found here, which you could put towards even more amiibo. What sounds more elephantastic than that?

All good things must come to an end, and that's certainly the case with Lego sets retiring in 2026. Well over 100 kits are being taken to the farm this month, so it's your last chance to pick them up.

While models get shelved all the time (it's a necessity, because there's no way Lego could keep its cripplingly enormous back-catalog running at once), this month's cuts hurt; the Lego sets retiring in July feature modern classics like the Great Deku Tree, Optimus Prime, and the Talking Sorting Hat. More than a few of these are included on our list of the best Lego sets, so I'd definitely recommend grabbing them while you still can.

If you know anything about retro gaming, then the Lego Sega Genesis Console will be instantly recognizable as one of the most iconic 16-bit home video game consoles ever released, which is impressively recreated in this set along with two controllers and a cartridge. Unlike the full size Lego Game Boy (72046), the Genesis is reproduced at about 60% scale, making it much more manageable as a display piece and meaning the two can stand side by side as some of best Lego sets for retro gamers.

Straight off the bat it's clear that the designers have committed to the retro feel of this set, as the Lego Sega Genesis Console box has been printed to look worn around the edges from 30+ years of use. I mention this as I actually thought mine had been damaged in transit at first, and I only realized it was intentional as I purchased a second set for a gift and saw they were identical!

Price is a key factor to note here, as you can pick up the Sega Genesis for just $39.99 / £34.99, which compares favorably with the recently released Lego Game Boy that retails for $59.99 / £54.99 despite containing fewer pieces, and while there's no lenticular screen or pressable buttons here the console still has some tricks up its sleeve.

Considering the visible exterior of the Lego Sega Genesis Console is predominantly black, there’s a pleasingly wide array of colored pieces included when you start opening bags. Naturally these end up being buried within the structure, but they definitely help with matching up bricks while making the base initially look like a Mondrian painting!

There are a couple of strange errors in the instructions, such as a black and a gray piece seeming to swap positions when the view reverses, and two steps are shown in the wrong order which caused brief confusion. However, at the time of writing this review the build instructions have been removed from the website/app, and the piece count has also been changed from 479 to 480, so it's not clear yet if the instructions are just being tidied up or if a minor change to the build is being introduced.

As mentioned before, a lot of the colorful bricks introduced will eventually disappear into the structure, but not all of them - the final group comes together to form a portrait of everyone's favorite spiny mammalian hero, Sonic the Hedgehog! This sits hidden beneath the rounded cartridge dock, but is easily revealed by lifting the top off the build and is a great Easter egg to reveal when showing the Sega Genesis Console to friends.

There's a great attention to detail with this set, providing an impressively accurate scaled-down recreation of the console and controllers, as you can see here in the side by side comparison with my original Mega Drive! Everything from the side ridges, sliders, and buttons to the various sockets and ports is where it should be, the curved edges look great, and the little cartridge even matches the original Sonic The Hedgehog 2 cart accurately.

Naturally, these small controllers cannot match the level of detail seen with the Lego Sega Genesis Controller set, but that was only available as a 'gift with purchase' for a limited time and you're destined for the second-hand market if you want to pick it up now. Still, there is a charm to the controllers in this set, with their angled set of three buttons meaning they can be immediately identified, and there are 'working' sockets to plug them securely into the front of the console.

For those not in the know, this console was marketed as the Genesis in the United States and the Mega Drive in Europe, with some clear differences in their designs to stand them apart. Additional pieces are included so you can switch your set between the versions and get their accurate appearance, though the instructions for this could be clearer as they just show two images side by side – highlighting the pieces to change would have been easier than playing spot the difference.

Finally, I do need to touch on the one big issue I had with this set – the decals. While I understand the need for these rather than supplying printed bricks to keep the cost down, I found the process of applying the 14 included stickers incredibly stressful. Getting these decals lined up correctly can be difficult at the best of times, but applying predominantly black stickers to black curved pieces accurately is a bit of a nightmare for those who strive for perfection. While I did the best I could, I wasn't 100% happy with their final placement which was a little disappointing.

Should you buy Sega Genesis Console?

While there aren't many officially licensed Lego games console sets available, the Sega Genesis stands on its own merit as a great retro build with just a few small frustrations, though they shouldn't stop you from picking it up. The very reasonable price means it's an easy addition to any collection, or a great budget gift that will always be well received.

Halloween: The Game just revealed a special Limited Collector's Edition with an exclusive, and chilling, Michael Myers action figure by Trick or Treat Studios.

This special edition is crammed with goodies like a trick or treat bag of candy. Aside from the game itself, it features in-game skins and cosmetics, an exclusive poster, lenticular art, and "more surprises" still to come. However, all eyes are likely to be on the exclusive Scream Great Shape Jump Michael Myers 8-inch variant action figure. This gives the villain an ethereal, ghostly glow that really helps it pop. Personally, I love that it comes with a teeny pumpkin given the same finish. That alone gets it my vote as one of the best toys I've seen this week.

In terms of the team behind that action figure, it's being made by Trick or Treat Studios – an outfit known for its masks, yes, but also its highly detailed action figures. That includes everything from Terrifier toys to Mr. Myers himself, but they're perhaps best known for their 1:1 scale Chucky Doll (which you can see here at Mad About Horror, because it needs to be witnessed). That kind of reputation makes me sit up and pay attention to this little Michael Myers, even if he is admittedly a fraction of the size of that Chucky masterpiece.

Halloween: The Game and its Limited Collector's Edition will land on October 6, 2026.

Want collectibles that are a little less creepy? It's worth dropping in on the best Lego sets. If you're still in a spooky mood, though, here's how, after 47 years, Halloween: The Game answers "burning questions" about John Carpenter's 1978 classic.

A bunch of new Lego Pokemon sets have been officially revealed, and while some were leaked ahead of time, it turns out the toy company was holding out on us – the best was yet to come.

Alongside (now-confirmed) Rayquaza, Arcanine, and Munchlax display figures, Lego is also releasing what is essentially a Polly Pocket for fans of the original video games; the Iconic Trainer Moments Poke Ball opens up to reveal Professor Oak's lab and a nostalgia-fuelled battle between Red and a random trainer inside. This will be launching alongside an Up-Scaled Red Minifigure, which brings our first player character from the series to life. All these new Lego Pokemon sets can be pre-ordered now via the Lego store, and they'll launch between August 1 and October 1.

In terms of specifics, here's how they stack up compared to the best Lego sets so far as pricing, pieces, and size go.

While I'm not sure how to feel about the Up-Scaled Red Minifigure (or should that be Bigifigure?), I'm all in on the Poke Ball display scene. This is like my childhood turned into Lego; it's a nostalgic look back at the opening of Pokemon Red and Blue, with the lid opening to reveal Professor's Oaks lab (complete with three Poke Balls on the bench to choose from) and trainer Red battling a Picknicker's Pikachu with Eevee. These are utterly adorable minifigure-scale Pokemon that remind me of the tiny toys you can get in those gumball machines – you know the ones? Anyway, because they're all-in-one sculpts that don't need constructing so far as I can tell, they look like the real deal rather than approximations. I imagine that'll please fans who've complained about other Lego Pokemon sets looking a bit… off (like Lego Pikachu and Poke Ball).

As for the others, it's nice to see them in all their glory rather than via a pixelated leak shot. As I mentioned in my piece discussing them when they weren't yet confirmed, these are a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. Fan response was mixed toward Lego Pikachu from the start and the Smart Play range drew some criticism based on its designs as well (even if they had our inner 10 year-old losing it), but these absolutely nail the assignment. They're also a lot cheaper than previous sets like the Starter Evolutions, bringing them more in line with the excellent Lego Eevee.

Basically, I'm obsessed – and I can't wait to see what's next for the Lego Pokemon range.

New Lego Pokemon sets seem to have leaked, and honestly? I think they're a real step up from what we've had so far.

Not content to leave it at last month's slew of Smart Play kits that had our inner 10-year-old losing it, the toy-maker appears to be working on three new Lego Pokemon sets for adults – Rayquaza, Munchlax, and Arcanine. These are all display pieces rather than playsets, and Rayquaza actually comes with the first Pokemon minifigure to date (Zinnia, who first appeared in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire).

I've not seen official PR info or listings at Lego yet, but these sets are being touted as confirmed by our friends over at The Gamer in a post dishing details alongside various Reddit threads like this one from Amiibofan101. Both sources suggest these models will all arrive on August 1, 2026, and they won't be throwaway novelties; Arcanine rivals some of the best Lego sets at 1,190 pieces, while Rayquaza is 1,083 and Munchlax weighs in at 757. Meanwhile, it looks as though they'll hover around the $100 mark; Rayquaza will apparently cost $129.99, Munchlax sits at $79.99, and Arcanine is $99.99.

So, are these real? I have no doubt that they are. Both Rayquaza and Munchlax have been rumored for a long time, and leaked images matching the current ones have been circulating on reddit for a while. They also perfectly line up with Lego's own preferred layout for product listings,

Either way, I think they look fantastic. I've been a little mixed on the Pokemon range thus far since it was announced (we were wondering what they'd done to Pikachu when it was first shown off, for example), and the new Smart Play line has divided us at the GamesRadar+ office. However, these figures lean into what made the likes of Lego Eevee and the three starter evolutions so great. Unlike Charizard and co, not to mention Lego Pikachu, they're also far more affordable.

If that August 1 release date is accurate, it's gonna be a busy month for fans; the Pokemon Smart Play kits are due to arrive then alongside the first KPop Demon Hunters model, a newly revealed ET figure, and more. We have reached out to Lego for confirmation.

I'm not one of those collectors who needs to have their amiibo as pristine as possible, but sometimes I just appreciate how they look in the box.

The only issue that can arise from keeping them looking brand-new is that Nintendo's packaging tends to weather pretty fast. I have plenty of unopened amiibo that have been sitting untouched for years, and yet the packaging has started to degrade and curl. So you can bet I was over the moon to discover that plastic box protectors, like the ones I see stacked up amongst Funko Pops at my local comic book shop, exist but for Nintendo amiibo instead.

I cannot lie that I felt a bit like Comic Book Guy's 'The Collector's alter ego from The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror as I slide poor plastic Sora from Kingdom Hearts into his plastic protector prison, but it's for a good cause. Sora's Super Smash Bros amiibo release is one of my favorite additions to the amiibo line-up to date, as I adore Kingdom Hearts with all my heart. Please excuse the pun. And I want to keep him and his packaging looking as good as I can for as long as I can.

Fortunately, the protectors are pretty easy to set up, so this shouldn't be an issue when I start to bag up more than just Sora. The protector (or at least the one I bought) arrived flat through the post, and all I had to do was fold along the lines and slide Sora inside, where he'll inevitably remain for the future. Sorry, pal. Donald Duck's likely going to have a harder time attempting to cure you now.

The protector was so easy to put together that I'm already eyeing the rest of my boxed amiibo that could do with some extra protection. At the moment, my figures like the Super Smash Bros Joker amiibo and Shovel Knight are sitting in their boxes, being subject to general wear and tear and the worst property of damage of all, dust. Yet hopefully, by picking up more of these plastic put-it-together-yourself boxes, I should be able to keep them safe and sound.

If you're considering grabbing some for yourself and are worried about the costly investment of buying multiples for your many amiibo, don't be. While I purchased mine for £6 from eBay Store Gaming Crave, and I've listed a 10-pack above for $20, multiple stores on AliExpress list them for as low as 99cents /99p per protector.

I have a feeling that these AliExpress listings could be where a bulk of other stores are sourcing their protectors, so grabbing them from the source yourself is going to be the cheapest option. These sellers also list larger protectors for any of you with the Pyra & Mythra amiibo double pack or the Alterna Set (Callie & Marie) double pack, so you've got more options than you'll find at mainstream retailers like Amazon, alongside the lower prices.

Before I go to inevitably pick up more for myself, do be aware that those protectors are still dependent on how well you look after them. They're pretty thin and are best for combating against dust and little knicks and abrasions. If your amiibo were to fall from a great height, it could still be subject to damage. So please don't start using them as an excuse to hurl your Nintendo toys around the room. I don't think any of you hurl amiibo in your free time, but you can never be too sure.

With House of the Dragon season 3 nicely underway, Warner has plenty of swag to see the penultimate run through, with some new additions to the roster for this year's instalment. A prop relica of King Viserys' crown is a highlight, though it comes in at a lofty $349.99 by itself. That promo code will set you back down to $314.99, but this is still one for power-fans.

Thankfully there are plenty of cheaper options on these shelves, from stickers for just over $6 to a light-up dragon egg for a whisker under $15. I've rounded up all my top picks from today's House of the Dragon merch sale just below - but hurry, offers end soon.

I always chuckle a bit to myself as I look back at my fears that Nintendo would forget amiibo for this generation. The reality is that I can't remember a time when I've had to keep up with so many restocks of older releases and brand new ones like the Chef Kawasaki and Hop Star amiibo.

We've known that Nintendo has been cooking up Chef Kawaki for a while, but the official Nintendo Japan website has now confirmed that the amiibo is expected to launch on September 3, 2026. There was no word on whether that release date pertained to just Japan. But I can confirm that the new Kirby Air Riders collectible has already appeared for $44.99 at Amazon, with that same September 3 release date.

If you aren't a big Chef Kawasaki fan, there are a lot more Kirby Air Riders amiibo where he came from. As of writing, the King Dedede & Tank Star figure is available for $54.99 at Best Buy, and you won't have to wait around for months for him to arrive at your door either.

You can also get your hands on the Kirby & Warp Star amiibo for $49.99 (Best Buy), the Meta Knight & Shadow Star amiibo for $44.99 (Best Buy), and the Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star amiibo for $49.99 (Best Buy), all of which are compatible with one another.

If you like the look of Waddle Dee's Winged Star vehicle, and happen to own the Kirby figure too, you can have the pink puffball sit inside it instead. Just beware that these are some of the priciest individual releases in the entire Nintendo NFC lineup, so collecting them all in order to mix and match their vehicles is not going to come cheap. It's why, despite having a 150+ amiibo collection, I haven't yet picked any of these up so far. Although it's getting harder and harder to resist the cuter they get.

Seeing as this month's line-up includes a fully-functional Lego pinball machine, I'd argue that it'll be hard to stand out amongst the best new Lego sets in July 2026. I mean, how are you supposed to argue with that? Supercars are great and a new Venom model is undoubtedly cool, but a retro game throwback whose party tricky is that it actually works? I'm sorry, but there's winning against a stunt like that.

Suffice to say, there are some really eye-catching releases this month despite it being a quieter few weeks (especially compared to the deluge of new Lego sets in June 2026). I've narrowed that list down to my absolute favorites below, and I'd argue that they're the best new Lego sets in July 2026 by a wide margin. The pinball machine I mentioned earlier is being joined by an absurdly accurate Technic supercar with the hyper-focused attention to detail the range is famous for, for example... not to mention the return of an old Star Wars favorite from Return of the Jedi. They certainly give the best Lego sets a run for their money, anyway.

Remember the Animal Crossing Sanrio amiibo cards? Well, they're back, and you don't have to dabble in inflated pricing to make them yours if you're based in the UK.

While picking up some amiibo figures I was missing for my collection, I spotted the Sanrio amiibo cards in stock for £4.99 at Nintendo, their original MSRP. If you were to grab these on Amazon right now, you'd be expected to pay £9 instead, so I wanted to bring this to your attention so you don't spend that extra £4 when you don't have to.

How to use the Sanrio amiibo cards in Animal Crossing New Horizons

• Load up New Horizons
• Enter the Resident Services building
• Access Nook Stop terminal
• Select "Invite a camper"
• Select "Yes I do"
• Tap amiibo card on right Switch 2 Joy-Con controller stick
• Select "Yes"

The pack contains six collectible cards that you can use to invite characters to your island and gain access to exclusive Sanrio-themed items to decorate your home. While these cards were intended to be used alongside the Animal Crossing New Leaf 3DS game, they're compatible with New Horizons on the Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 - trust me, I've checked.

After tapping the card over the right Switch 2 Joy-Con controller and inviting them to your camping site, the items, which you can see printed on the card, will be available to purchase through the 'Nook Shopping' menu of the Nook Stop Terminal. For example, during a quick test today, I invited Étoile to my island, which is one of the cards I received in the pack.

Her items, which include this stunning "cloud maker" decoration (which is based on a real item you can spot if you ever visit Sanrio Puroland in Japan), were then accessible for me to buy and add to my New Horizons home. It's essentially the same process to get the Zelda items in Animal Crossing, if you've already been through that easy breezy process.

If you're eager to pick up more amiibo cards, I recommend regularly checking back in with the official Nintendo online store. The original series packs occasionally get re-stocked, but there isn't any fanfare made on the official Nintendo social media channels to let you know. It's a good thing I'm here, then!

Renowned video game developer and internet darling Hideo Kojima has become an action figure.

More specifically, he's going to be an adorable Nendoroid toy. Created by the Good Smile Company, these figures have built up a reputation for being high-quality, stylized display figures that look like chibi artwork come to life (AKA some of the best toys around, because c'mon – look at them). Now that same treatment has been applied to Hideo Kojima, and it's actually a bit eerie how well they've captured the famed game designer down to his intense stare and knowing smile.

Available to pre-order as we speak, the Hideo Kojima Nendoroid figure is $38.99 from Good Smile and is due to ship around this time next year. (Yes, the amount of time toy production can take is wild.)

Besides extensive articulation that allows you to pose the toy however you want, this mini Kojima comes with a host of alternate looks and a couple of accessories – there's a serious face, smiling face, thinking face, thumbs up, glasses, sunglasses, and a Ludens Duck. He's also wearing a Kojima Productions t-shirt, because of course he is.

Personally speaking, I'm a big fan of Nendoroids – to the point that I've made it my life's mission to get the Wind Waker version of Link, because it's truly magnificent. There's just so much character to them; you'd need a heart of pure, frigid ice not to be brought a smattering of joy by looking at them. Plus, they feel incredibly premium despite being quite affordable on the whole. Trust me, that's not always the case in the collectibles market; you're frequently paying through the nose for the privilege.

I never really saw Mickey Mouse as a gearhead, but the new Disney F1 collection proves that he's ready to get onto the track. Or at the very least, boot up a session of Mario Kart. (He'd be a menace with red shells, I can tell.)

Because the company's mascot doesn't do things by halves, there's a fleet of goodies included in the Disney F1 merch collection; Mickey's racing our way with more than a pitstop's worth of hats, shirts, pins, and plushies. Seeing as there's much of it, and I spend a lot of time hunting down the best toys or collectibles (particularly Disney gear), I've rounded up my favorite bits here. While the price is a little higher than I'd like (something that's true of the range in general, but to be expected from such a high-profile crossover), the shimmering material is beautiful with its reflective shades of orange and blue. Actually, it reminds me of the rainbow-esque, iridescent look oil or gasoline can have in certain lights.

Anyway, there are plenty of other goodies with a similarly enchanting design on the Disney Store, including Disney Store UK - and I say that as someone who's not even the biggest fan of F1. In much the same way, the F1 store is crammed with gear that's genuinely taken me aback with how nice it looks; it doesn't just feel as though Mickey's been slapped on a bomber jacket. A lot of care seems to have gone into the collection, which is what I like to see from crossovers like this.
