Avatar Frontiers of Pandora co op is very much a thing, but only once you get to a mission called Eywa's Blessing. The open-world action game reimagines the beloved film series to offer a lush paradise for jumping, climbing, and swooping through once you bond with an ikran. With so much to see, craft, and do, it's all much easier when you bring a friend along for the ride.

However, co op mode is not immediately accessible to you when you first load into Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. You'll have to play the game solo until a specific point, and we'll walk you through it right now so that you can hop on an Avatar multiplayer session with your mates ASAP.

How to play Avatar Frontiers of Pandora co op

Before you can play the Avatar game in co op mode, play through the main story until Nefika gives you a mission called Eywa's Blessing. 

Starting from the quest-giving location at the Hometree, this mission sends you out into the forest to learn how to hunt. It also marks the point in the game where you can start to recruit friends to play alongside you in Ubisoft's Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

To access co op once you've unlocked, open your map and inventory screens and hit the left button on your controller D-pad (or the left arrow key on your keyboard) to open the Settings menu. The first option on this menu should be co op, and this is where you can connect with online friends to have them join your journey. Also, yes, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does support crossplay co op mode by default.

Finding out if Dead Island 2 crossplay is a thing is important if you want to slay zombies with friends that own a different system to you. With Dead Island 2 on PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, there's plenty of platforms around, but if you want to play Dead Island 2 multiplayer online together for some co-op action then unfortunately your options are limited. Does Dead Island 2 have crossplay?

The short answer is no, Dead Island 2 does not have crossplay, so PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players are kept separate and can't team up. All you can do is connect to others within the same console family, so PS5 and PS4 or Xbox Series X and Xbox One players can join each other, as well as Epic and Steam on PC. This does at least open up some options to form a Slayer squad outside of the platform you own, but obviously it's not much. Plus, players on the base PS4 or Xbox One S can join sessions but can't host them, though PS4 Pro and Xbox One X users can host.

The situation is the same with Dead Island 2 crossprogression, which means you can't transfer progress between platforms. However if you go to Options from the main menu on PS5 or Xbox Series X then you should see a prompt at the bottom of the list to transfer data from either PS4 or Xbox One. Note that Dead Island 2 does not feature a cloud save system, so you'll need to have your PS4 or Xbox One save data on the same network as your PS5 or Xbox Series X console you want to transfer it to for this to work.

Interest in Valheim crossplay has increased dramatically with the release of the Viking survival sim on Xbox consoles, as existing PC players look to team up with these fresh recruits or invite them in to explore their established worlds with them. The good news for Valheim adventurers is that crossplatform play is available across all formats, so you can work together with friends no matter what system they're using. There's also nothing you need to do to make this happen, unless you're running a dedicated server, as the option is enabled by default, so here's what you need to know about using crossplay in Valheim.

Is Valheim crossplay

If you're asking whether Valheim supports crossplay between Steam, Microsoft, and Xbox consoles, then the pleasingly short answer is yes – crossplay is fully supported between all platforms that the game is currently running on.

However, if you’re running a dedicated server on Steam, you'll need to enable crossplay if you wish to let players from other platforms join. The host will have to use the ‘-crossplay’ parameter to do so, after which other players can use a join code to enter the server. When looking at a list of available or favorite servers, you can check the ‘shuffle’ icon next to a server name to confirm if that server has crossplay enabled.

In order to make Valheim crossplay work, you'll need to ensure that all players are running the same patch version of the game, otherwise the connection is likely to fail. To find what version number you're currently running, head to the main menu screen and look for the information in the bottom right corner.

One final thing for Xbox players to consider – it is possible to turn off crossplatform play at system level through your console settings, so if you're having any issues connecting to others then do double check to make sure this isn't enabled. You'll find it under the following path:

Battlefield 2042 cross-platform options will be of particular interest to those on PS5 and PS4, as it's one of the free PS Plus games for March 2023, though naturally all players will want to know what opposition they could be coming up against. As there is no Battlefield 2042 campaign, all of the focus in the game is on the multiplayer modes, and although cross-play is possible there are some caveats that mean not everyone can connect to each other. If you want to know exactly who you can squad up with in combat, then here's the lowdown on cross-platform play in Battlefield 2042.

What Battlefield 2042 cross-platform options are available?

Battlefield 2042 cross-platform play is available, though there are certain restrictions on this due to the technical limitations of the different formats, as previous gen consoles can only support 64-player battles while current gen consoles and PCs feature 128-player warfare. This means that those on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC can all play together, while PS4 and Xbox One can only play with and against each other. As the different Battlefield 2042 modes are not compatible spanning generations, you won't be able to team up across the divide and so cross-play isn't available between PS5 and PS4.

If you'd rather not use Battlefield 2042 cross-platform then you can opt out, so you'll only come up against other players from your own format. To turn it off or on, head to the main menu screen and open the Accessibility & Options menu, then select the General tab and toggle the Cross-play option under the Other heading. Note that you can't change this setting if you're currently part of a group, in matchmaking, or have joined a server, and this setting won't override the above restrictions between console generations.

PowerWash Simulator crossplay means you can set up a large cleaning crew with your friends who are playing on different formats, to take the edge off some of those big and dirty jobs by working together. In Career Mode this means pairing up cooperatively with one other person, while in Free Play where fewer restrictions apply you can get up to six players together to take on any jobs the host has already completed. 

Players on Windows PC, Steam, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One have all been able to connect since launch, but unfortunately the situation isn't as good for those using the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions. Can you play PowerWash Simulator crossplay

Yes, you can play PowerWash Simulator crossplay, but only on certain formats. PC players on Windows or Steam and Xbox console users can all connect to each other using crossplay, however this option hasn't been extended to the more recently added platforms, meaning Sony and Nintendo players are on their own. According to an official FAQ from developer FuturLab, if you're cleaning up on PS5, PS4, or Switch then you'll only be able to connect to friends playing on the same format, and there are no plans to change this system in the future according to the information we have available.

This is likely due to the close links between PC and Xbox infrastructure that make crossplay considerably easier to implement between those platforms, and the amount of additional work that would be required by the developers to incorporate PlayStation and Switch consoles into that system means it's not a viable option. This doesn't rule out cooperative play within those individual formats, of course, it just means there's a smaller pool of players to connect to.

While Need for Speed Unbound crossplay is available, to connect players between Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC platforms, it is limited to an extent as it can only be used in the Lakeshore Online mode and not during the main Story. However, this still means that you can team up with your racing buddies and go head to head in an anime style regardless of what system you're all playing on, so long as you're connected to each other as EA Friends so you can make contact and meet on the mean streets.

There's plenty of fast and furious racing to be had, full of drifting and nitrous boosts, so Need for Speed Unbound crossplay gives you the biggest pool of players to go head to head with and prove your skills behind the wheel. However, some players prefer to only go up against those on the same platform to ensure they're racing on a level playing field, so as well as explaining how it all works, we've also got details for how to disable Need for Speed Unbound crossplay if you'd prefer not to use it.

How to use Need for Speed Unbound crossplay

Need for Speed Unbound crossplay is available and enabled as standard, which means you'll automatically be matched up with players from Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC platforms. It should be noted that this only applies to the Lakeshore Online part of the game, as the main Story element is a single-player experience, and if crossplay is enabled then you'll see the above notification screen before you join a Lakeshore Online session. Once you're in, you can send invites to your contacts on any supported platform, as long as you're EA Friends.

If you want to disable Need for Speed Unbound crossplay so you're just matched up with players from the same platform, then this can be done by accessing the Settings and Accessibility menu then opening the Game section and moving the slider next to Enable Cross-Play to off. You can only change this setting while in the main menu, so you'll need to back out completely if you're in a current session before adjusting your matchmaking pool.

Warzone 2 crossplay, including crossplay for Modern Warfare 2, is a feature that allows players on different platforms to play with each other. That being said, the feature is entirely optional, but while PlayStation players can turn it on and off without issue, keeping their games of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 strictly in-house, so to speak. Xbox players can do this as well, but it requires a little bit more effort, while PC players can't disable crossplay at all.

Of course, you might wonder why you'd want to - and that's largely due to the general advantage of playing on PC. Mouse and keyboard is considered far more efficient for precision shooting gameplay, so some think it's a bit unfair for players with controllers to get up against that. If you feel the same way, here's what you need to know about Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 crossplay and how to disable it.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 crossplay options

If you're a PlayStation player then you still have the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 crossplay option available within the menus, so you can easily decide if you want to limit your matchmaking to just PS5 and PS4 or extend it to other platforms. You can find it through the following route:

• Press Options/Start to bring up the side menu
• Move to the Settings tab (cog icon)
• Select Account & Network
• Crossplay settings are at the top of the screen

As said above, this Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 crossplay option seems to have been removed from the Xbox and PC versions of the game, so there isn't a simple fix if you want to limit which platforms are included in your matchmaking. While there doesn't seem to be any way for those on PC to address this, there is a workaround which may allow Xbox players to avoid this enforced crossplay.

How to disable Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 crossplay on Xbox

There may not be a Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 crossplay option included within the game on Xbox, but there is a setting you can activate at console system and account level that should prevent it from happening. The prompts may differ slightly between Xbox Series X and Xbox One, but the general route you want to take from the dashboard is:

• Open the Settings tile
• Select Online safety & family under General
• Select Privacy & online safety
• Select Xbox privacy
• Select View details & customise
• Select Communication & multiplayer
• Under You can join cross-network play change the drop down to Block

With cross-network play blocked on your Xbox account, the game shouldn't be able to connect to other platforms outside of the Xbox network. As this is an unofficial fix, you may need to see how it affects performance on your console, and also remember that this will apply to any other online games you play while you have this block set on your account. 

It's possible that Activision will reinstate the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 crossplay option for all platforms in a future update, but for now at least this appears to be the only way around it on Xbox.

Can you play GTA Online on PS5 with PS4 players? This question has been asked since the day the GTA 5 enhanced edition launched, and as more players upgrade to PS5 consoles it's becoming an increasingly pressing issue for groups who straddle the divide. If you're trying to set up cross-generation crossplay in GTA Online, or indeed any sort of connection with friends on consoles different from your own, then the short answer is no, as that's not possible. However, there is a workaround if you continue to run the older version of the game on your newer console, so read on for everything you need to know about GTA Online crossplay, cross-generation play, and if you can play with PS4 or Xbox One players on a PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Does GTA Online have crossplay for PS5 and PS4, and Xbox?

The short answer is no, but it’s a bit complicated and there is a sort of workaround. First of all, let’s make this clear: currently, GTA Online does not have any form of crossplay, so GTA Online players on PlayStation cannot play with Xbox or PC players and vice versa. A few different versions of GTA Online also exist, and the only people you can play with are those that own the same version of GTA Online as you, as well as the same platform.

For example, players that own the most recently released enhanced edition of GTA 5 or GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X will not be able to play with anyone that is running the old-gen versions for PS4 and Xbox One. This means that if you own a PS5 and the enhanced version of GTA Online, the only other players you can play with are fellow PS5 players that also own the enhanced version of GTA Online for current-gen consoles – the same goes for Xbox Series X. If you're a little confused about upgrading, here's how to get the GTA 5 Enhanced Version.

However, if you own a PS5 but are still running the old-gen version for PS4 through backward compatibility, then you can only play with people who own that version, so you’ll be playing on a PS5 with PS4 players. While this isn’t true crossplay, it is a workaround that allows players from two different console generations to play together, though it means PS5 players must run an older version of the game.

If you do own the enhanced version of GTA Online, it’s likely that you’ve figured out how to transfer your GTA Online character from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox Series X. While this previously resulted in your old-gen data being wiped off the servers, as of June 2023 the process has changed so that your PS4 or Xbox One character(s) will be retained after migration, though future progress will not sync between across platforms. This means that it's now possible to continue playing with PS4 players by running the PS4 version of the game, while also running the PS5 version to play with PS5 players, though this could get confusing with progress not transferring between the two.

To sum up – if you're playing the PS4 version of GTA Online on your PS5, you can only connect with other PS4 players, but if you upgrade to the PS5 version then you'll only be able to connect to other PS5 players through that. Upgrading to the PS5 version no longer deletes your PS4 profile, though future progress will not sync between them.

If you know how to enable cross-platform Fortnite matches then you have another route to gathering with pals online, so you can join forces in the many different experiences available regardless of devices you're all using. While Fortnite originated as a battle royale it has evolved into so much more, so if outlasting your opponents to achieve a Victory Royale isn't your thing then you can set up a village and set off on blocky adventures in Lego Fortnite, pick up and instrument and get the band together in Fortnite Festival, or roleplay your way around the big city with Lego Fortnite Brick Life. When you're not able to get together in person, cross play still allows you to spend time hanging out with friends in the virtual world.

If you're ready to form a team with your pals then it's absolutely worth making the effort to play together over multiple formats because once you enable cross-platform Fortnite matches you can compete with anyone, no matter whether they're using PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, or even mobile (where available) to leap from the battle bus and into the action. Doing this also means that any progress you make on your Fortnite account carries over to every platform, which means you can always access your season level, Battle Pass, and locker items however and wherever you play. Read on, and I'll show you how to enable cross-platform Fortnite matches with anyone.

Next, you need to become friends with anyone you want to play cross platform Fortnite with via your Epic account. You can either do this through the 'add friends' option on the social menu if you know your friend's display name, or on a PC or Mac by downloading the Epic Launcher, opening it and logging into your account. Next click the silhouette in the top right and enter your friend's Epic email address or username and hit OK. Repeat this process until you’ve invited all your friends. Once they accept your friend request, you can return to your system of choice. Now when you open the Friends tab in the social menu you'll be able to see all of your friends, highlight the name and select 'join party’ to enter their lobby or 'invite to party' to request they join you.

Yes, Overwatch 2 does have crossplay, which means you can play with your friends on other platforms once you’ve added them through Battle.net. Thankfully, it’s a really easy process too as it only requires you to link your console accounts to a Battle.net account – something that is required to even play Overwatch 2 in the first place – and adding your friends can all be done through the in-game menus. We’ve got all the details on getting Overwatch 2 crossplay up and running by adding your pals below.

How to add friends in Overwatch 2 for crossplay

Regardless of which platform you play on, Overwatch 2 crossplay is handled through your Battle.net account. Since a Battle.net account, or one linked to your console account, is mandatory to even play Overwatch 2, you’re pretty much ready to go and the only thing you’ll need to do is add friends via Battle.net – if you’re a new console player, creating and linking your Battle.net and console accounts is the same as setting up cross-progression and account merging in Overwatch 2. Here’s how to add friends in Overwatch 2:

1. From the Overwatch 2 main menu, scroll down and select the ‘Social’ menu to bring up your friends list.
2. Click the ‘Add A Friend’ button and then enter your friend’s Battle.net account name or their email address, then send the request. If they accept your request, you’ll become friends and will appear on each other’s friends lists on Battle.net and Overwatch 2.

If you’re playing on PC, the Overwatch 2 Social menu will show only friends you’ve added through Battle.net but if you’re playing on an Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch console, it’ll show your existing friends from that platform, as well as anyone you’ve added via Battle.net. You can also add recent players by navigating to the ‘Recent Players’ tab of the Social menu, selecting a player’s icon, and then choosing the ‘Add Battle.net Friend’ option to send them a friend request. If you’re using the Battle.net app on PC, you can also click the icon of a person with a ‘+’ just to add someone by entering their Battle.net name or email address.

Overwatch 2 crossplay also means you’ll be mixed with players on other platforms in regular matches, unless you’re playing on PC. As with a lot of other games that feature crossplay, console players are always kept separate from PC players in matchmaking. However, if you are a console player and you party up with a PC player, you will be put in matches with other PC players.

Grounded cross play provides a means for friends to go exploring the backyard together cross-platform, whether they're using an Xbox console or a PC to access the oversized world. Microsoft is a keen proponent of cross-platform compatibility in games, so it's no wonder the feature is high on players' wishlists, and some will be asking if Grounded on PS4 or PS5 is going to happen so they can get involved too. If you want to connect with friends no matter what systems they're using, there here's everything you need to know about Grounded cross play and cross-platform support.

Grounded cross play lets you connect Xbox and PC platforms

The good news is that Grounded cross play is fully supported across Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, so you can connect with your friends no matter what platform they're all using. Those playing on Xbox consoles and through the Microsoft Store on PC can just follow the standard Grounded multiplayer process by selecting the option from the main menu, then as long as your Xbox Live accounts are linked as friends you'll see their hosted world available to join.

To access Grounded cross play on the Steam version of the game there is an additional step to take, as you'll need to use the Xbox companion app to connect with your friends instead, due to it not being directly connected to the Xbox Live Network. However you join other people cross-platform, make sure the host has shared their world properly so you can all continue to access it (if that's what you want to happen), otherwise everyone else in your Grounded player count will be kicked when the host leaves and you'll lose your progress.

You can't play Grounded on PS4 or PS5

Grounded has been a console exclusive to Xbox since it first launched in early access back in July 2020, which isn't a surprise given it's being developed by Obsidian Entertainment who were acquired by Microsoft in 2018, and published by Xbox Game Studios. For those first party developer reasons, Grounded on PS4 or PS5 isn't going to happen, so if you want to play it then you'll need to do so on an Xbox console or PC.

There are no NBA 2K23 cross-platform or crossplay options, so if you were planning to play between different PlayStation or Xbox consoles then unfortunately you're out of luck there. There is at least cross-platform progression between generations in the same console family, so PS4 and PS5 or Xbox One and Series X can share progress. We've got a further explanation below for what this all means, but the long and short of it is that while you can maintain your personal progress across consoles within the same platform, you won't be able to play games between them.

There's no NBA 2K23 crossplay, but there is cross-platform progression within consoles

2K is pretty clear on the idea of play between different consoles with a simple "there will not be NBA 2K23 crossplay between different platforms" on its FAQ. There will however be cross-progression for the MyTEAM system within PlayStation and Xbox, so you'll be able to share your progress, MyTEAM Points, tokens and cards etc, between PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Series X. 

NBA 2K23 cross-gen access is also a little confusing and messy. If you have a PS4 or Xbox One version of the game you will be able to play it on PS5/Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility. However, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game only work on their respective consoles as they take "full advantage of the power, speed, and technology of the new hardware and includes additions and improvements only possible on those consoles" according to that FAQ. So the old gen versions will be playable on current gen but only as the old versions via backwards compatibility, while current gen only works on current gen. 

However, finally, if you buy the NBA 2K23 Digital Deluxe, Michael Jordan or Championship Edition you'll get both versions of the game across gens for whatever platform you buy it on - so PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Series X. If you buy it digitally, you'll get both as downloads, while if you get the physical version, you'll receive a code for a digital download of the other version.

Doe the Evil Dead game have crossplay? Yes it does! With a big multiplayer focus, the game's vastly improved by being cross-platform. It's also a relatively easy to system to use, allowing you to play with friends without too much issue. We'll cover all the basics of the Evil Dead game crossplay and cross-platform features below, for those who want to slaughter deadites across consoles.

Will the Evil Dead game have crossplay and cross-platform support?

Yes, it does! Evil Dead: The Game does indeed support full crossplay and cross-platform compatibility at launch, as announced in the official Tweet shown above. There's even an option in the settings to turn it off, assuming you don't want to go up against players with the advantage/disadvantage of different controllers or just want more power over who you team with.

As a rule, the crossplay feature simply means that any random matchmade game could be with any other player on any console or platform. There's also the option to add friends across by going into the "Social" menu and searching for their username on their respective platform. Even if you're on PS5 and search for somebody's Epic Games or Xbox username, it should come up, along with a simple icon showing what platform they're playing it on.

As for the best console/platform to play it on… well, that's hard to say right now. Without seeing how the game runs on different platforms it's impossible to know which provides the best experience, though as with many games that make use of accuracy, mouse and keyboard traditionally provide more pinpoint power. We've also seen that while the game is intended to come to Nintendo Switch, it's not clear when that'll be, with the official site simply stating that it is "coming soon."

 Cross-play, cross-platform, cross-save, and cross-progression are features that have become even more necessary in today’s video game landscape. While the demand is there, these features often lack a clear definition and leaves gamers wondering whether they can play with other platforms or access save data on different consoles. 

Not knowing whether the latest title you’re thinking about purchasing supports cross-play or is cross-platform can make or break the experience for any gamer. If you owned Marvel’s Avengers before it came to Xbox Game Pass and wanted to give it a try on that console, you’d find yourself wondering whether or not your progress carried over. The differences between each of these “cross-features” can vary by title, but rest assured, there’s a system in place for all of them.

Cross-Platform and Cross-Generation Support

Cross-platform refers to a video game title released across multiple systems, for example, Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC. Cross-generation refers to games that can only be played within the same console family, like PS4 and PS5. 

Marvel’s Avengers, Destiny 2, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 are examples of games that have all been released cross-platform. While the extent of each game’s support on those different platforms varies, it can still be noted that many of the core features of these titles remain about the same no matter how you choose to play. Before its release, Marvel’s Avengers made headlines when it was announced that Spider-Man would be a PlayStation exclusive roster addition, ruffling the feathers of many PC and Xbox players as a result. 

Destiny 2 was released in September 2017 but only recently announced the inclusion of cross-generational support, which meant that players on Xbox One could finally join fireteams with players on the Series X/S, as well as PlayStation players between PS4 and PS5. While Marvel’s Avengers lacks cross-play, it does include cross-generational support, so players in the same console family could game together regardless of the generation. Though THPS 1 + 2 was cross-platform at release, it still does not support cross-play or cross-generational gaming for players in the same console family. 

A note to add that many cross-generation releases when it comes to PS4 to PS5, will require a small fee to jump up to the PS5 version - although many include the PS5 upgrade for free. It's worth checking this out if you're purchasing a PS4 game that you'd eventually like to also experience on PS5. 

Cross-Play and Cross-Save Support

Cross-play makes it possible for gamers across all platforms to participate in online play, while cross-save support allows players to access their save progress on any given platform where they own the game.

A title like Destiny 2 added cross-play so that Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players could enjoy gaming together regardless of their system. Bungie also took it a step further with the inclusion of cross-progression, or cross-save, making it possible for Guardians on any system to continue where they left off if they switched platforms. Cross-save only becomes possible when that progress can be saved on its own dedicated server and accessed from different points, and it’s led to many other titles incorporating similar features. 

Animal Crossing: New Horizons added the Island Backup Service last year so that players could save their island data and progress to dedicated Nintendo Servers and still retrieve the data in the event of a lost or stolen Nintendo Switch. While this isn’t true to the cross-save feature itself, it does exist in its orbit and opens the conversation to the importance of cloud storage for saved game data.

The Future of Cross-Engagement Features

The size and scope of AAA titles released today makes access to cross-support features more challenging, but with more studios pushing the envelope, the reality of those features appearing seems well within reach. 

The ability to pursue cross-engagement features rests with the support team behind a given game, as was the case with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). In 2020, the still wildly successful Call of Duty title introduced cross-play and cross-save for players no matter the system they were on. Xbox One players could now link their profile to an Activision account that housed all their progress and then pick up and play on a PlayStation 5 right where they left off. 

The feature didn’t come without its hiccups, like lobbies crashing with players on different platforms or matches not loading for some players and loading for others in the same party. Despite some of these hurdles, the inclusion of such a necessary feature makes it clear that the possibilities are there, as well as the gamers willing to engage with them.

How to set up Call of Duty Warzone crossplay

To start setting up Call of Duty Warzone crossplay, you need to enter the Social menu found in the top right corner of the Warzone lobby screen. This should show you any friends who are currently playing on the same platform as you, but if you want to add those using other systems then follow the Add Friends prompt in the top left corner.

This will then give you the option to search for friends using their Activision Account, or a variety of other gaming IDs depending on which platforms you both are playing on. Type in your friend's account name then hit the arrow on the right to send an invite, then once they've accepted you'll be able to see each other on the Friends tab of the main Social screen.

Finally, you just need to select your friend from the Social screen then choose Join Game to jump into their lobby, or Invite to Party to bring them over to yours. There's also a Whisper option if you want to send them a text message through the in-game chat, which definitely isn't creepy at all. If the options to Join Game or Invite to Party are locked out, you'll see a message at the bottom of the menu to explain why that player can't be joined, so resolve the issue between you and you'll be ready for Call of Duty Warzone crossplay in no time.

How to enable Apex Legends crossplay

As explained above, yes, Apex Legends crossplay is now a thing. You can play with friends no matter what platform they're on; Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, and PC. You can add friends on other platforms by opening up the friends menu when you're on the lobby screen, then typing in their in-game name in the "Find Friends" section. This will search for anyone with that username – just select your friend on the correct platform.

Apex Legends crossplay won't come into effect if you're playing by yourself though. If you're on PC, you won't be matched up against console players if you're solo, and if you're on console, you won't play against PC players. With that said, if you want to turn crossplay off so the option isn't even there, you can toggle it in the settings.

How to turn off crossplay on Apex Legends

Alternatively, you may want to turn crossplay off on Apex Legends, especially if you're playing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox, and you don't want to come up against PC players. In order to do that, you simply need to go to the settings cog in the bottom right-hand corner of the lobby screen, then look for the crossplay option. It's that simple!

Unfortunately, PC players do not have the option to disable crossplay, so you're out of luck if you want to avoid console foes for whatever reason.

Does Apex Legends have cross-progression?

Unfortunately not. If you play Apex Legends on a different platform to your main one, your progress will not carry over, so you'll need to start earning skins and levelling up your account again.

How does Diablo 4 crossplay work?

You should easily be able to join each other through the in-game friends list, though you'll need to ensure that you're on the same Diablo 4 World Tier first.

Diablo 4 cross progression is also available, so your progress carries over between platforms, so long as your Battle.net account is linked to those platform accounts. This means that you can easily move between PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X, but bear in mind that if you want to switch between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms then you'll need to purchase a version of the game on each system as that entitlement doesn't carry across.

How to start online co-op in Diablo 4

To start online co-op in Diablo 4, you need to open the map screen and then move across to the Social tab. Here you'll see a list of your Battle.net friends, with consoles having a separate tab for friends on their network. If you can't find the person you want to connect with, it's probably because you aren't Battle.net friends yet, but by following the Add a Friend prompt at the bottom of the screen you can enter their email address or BattleTag and add them directly from the game without having to visit the website.

Once they appear on your friend list, you can begin Diablo 4 co-op with them by selecting their name and then choosing Invite to Party or Request to Join Party. After the invite or request is accepted the other player will appear next to you on screen, and you can then return to the game world to meet up. Note that you don't automatically teleport to your co-op partner's location, so open the map to see where they are and then use Diablo 4 fast travel to get to the same area.

Does Diablo 4 have couch co-op?

Diablo 4 couch co-op is another feature included in the game on PlayStation and Xbox, so you can hack and slash your way through dungeons with a buddy in local co-op on the same console. You only need one copy of Diablo 4 to do this, though each player will require their own Battle.net account to join the session. Unfortunately, couch co-op is not available for PC players, due to technical issues preventing two Battle.net accounts being signed in at the same time on the same computer, so this feature is limited to consoles only.
