Jeffrey Gattis, general manager for games at Amazon, hopes to see more people try its cloud gaming service Luna as consoles and PCs become eye-wateringly expensive.

Speaking with The Game Business, Gattis weighs up the increasing costs of gaming today. Component supply chains decimated by AI data centers forced even Valve's wealthy hand (as it refuses to sell hardware at a loss), leading to a flagrantly overpriced Steam Machine that would've been a proper hit with a sticker in the high three-digit range.

Now even Xbox is preemptively talking about how consoles have to adapt to the memory and storage market, in roughly the same way that a dinosaur must adapt to being on fire.

Gattis inherited the difficult task of getting people to know and care about Luna, which was announced in 2020 and swiftly forgotten. By baking it straight into Amazon Prime Video, Gattis says "we've 5x-ed our player base, albeit on a modest base," which is the kind of corporate speak that reveals a very modest starting audience.

But Gattis is optimistic about Luna and cloud gaming's future, especially in a world where the Steam Machine and rumored new-gen consoles cost "well over $1,000."

Cloud gaming has long been "a little bit of a solution in search of a problem," Gattis reflects, but that was in a world where core gaming was relatively affordable.

"Consoles, for the most part, have been relatively inexpensive until now," he says. "So our business is more about reaching more players and expanding the market, not trying to get people to give up their consoles or their gaming PC.

"Having said all that, we've seen the news. We saw the Steam Machine pricing opening at $1,000 US. We hear rumors about consoles, because of the RAM prices, pushing well over $1,000 in gen 10. So I do think you get to a point at which a lot more people will be in the consideration set for a cloud gaming solution just because of the sheer cost of buying dedicated hardware."

Gattis reckons there are "3 billion people in the world who play video games, yet there's only, depending on how you do the math, 300 million to 500 million dedicated hardware devices out in the wild."

In that difference of roughly 2.5 billion gamers, he sees the potential cloud gaming market of tomorrow – folks who don't have the time or money for the latest consoles or PC games, but do want to play something. And as long as they're comfortable with the limitations of cloud gaming licensing.

"Games can be big investments – to go buy a $70 game, to go through the download experience, to pair a controller, and then make an investment of hundreds of hours of time, in some cases, to complete one of these games," Gattis reasons, perhaps exaggerating the arduous toil of pairing a controller.

"There's people like me who love that. That's how I choose to spend my entertainment time. But I think most people fit into more of a bell curve, a more normal distribution. They spend some time watching television, they spend some time watching movies, and they like to play video games. I think that's where we see an opportunity to serve a group of people who I might argue haven't really been well-served because the console and PC companies are mostly focused on those hardcore players."

The big problem, of course, is that Amazon has struggled to get anything right in games. Its once-roaring MMO New World is dead, its Lord of the Rings MMO is reportedly dead, and Amazon Studios' primary exports so far have been layoffs and cancellations. It turns out all the money in the universe can't just magic games into being, so even if Luna was always meant to be a third-party game merchant, it's in untrustworthy hands in the eyes of many players.

Meanwhile: Amazon Games gutted amid 14,000 layoffs: work on first-party games and MMOs in particular scaled back, "casual and AI-focused games" a continued focus.

Amazon Prime Day tablet deals are officially here, and the good news is that we are seeing some pretty sizeable discounts already. Apple, Samsung, and Lenovo have all had price reductions, and despite the fact that 2026 has been an expensive year for hardware in general, there are some record-low discounts waiting for you to cash in.

I love a good board game, but I don't impress easily. That's why Catan: On the Road caught me so off guard. It only took a single session for me to fall head over heels in love with this 15-minute family game. Did I win? No. But that tells you something about how much fun I had. Now I'm recommending it to anyone who'll listen - and I'd argue that it's a must-have for vacation, not to mention one of the best travel board games overall.

Designed for three to four players, Catan: On the Road is a streamlined version of classic Catan (AKA one of the best board games ever produced, in our humble opinion). Despite being much smaller, it's surprisingly similar to its classic; like the original board game, your aim is to earn the most points. You can do this in a variety of ways from gathering the largest army to constructing vast cities, so you've got plenty of strategies to try.

Rather than using a crap-ton of board tiles and tokens like the original, though, On the Road whittles all that down to a single deck of cards. While you'd think that boils off most of what makes Catan unique along with its nuance, nothing could be further from the truth. Actually, both my family and I were surprised at how much it felt like OG Catan.

Basically, you're still gathering resources each turn (they're randomly-drawn cards, mimicking the probability-based nature of the original Catan) and using them to purchase items or buildings. These, in turn, allow you to get more resources or special bonuses that will help you in your mission. Once you've gathered seven Victory Points overall, it's game over.

Plus, its size and the fact that it plays on a smaller surface makes it ideal for travel or taking with you on vacation. Besides fitting into a pocket, it doesn't require a massive dinner table for setup. That's ideal if you want something that you can chuck into a suitcase for your summer holiday; you can play it wherever you're staying, on the train, or at the airport while waiting for a flight.

Now, I will point out that it's not perfect despite being a ton of fun. I found in my test session that those who managed to buy a City card early (which gives you extra resource cards each turn rather than just one) can quickly build up steam because they're obviously getting more to work with. But at the same time, this doesn't mean those who take a different approach will get left behind. I came in second despite taking an entirely different approach, for instance - I focused on getting the longest roads and the biggest armies instead.

Similarly, there are a host of new 'event' cards that adjust the balance of power each time they're drawn. These range from the classic robber who steals resources to special festivals that provide free resources for those who are struggling. Oh, and don't forget players' ability to trade (with others or the bank) when needed.

All this comes together to make a game with that 'special sauce'; I was very eager to try again once we finished. For me, that makes it a very easy recommendation.

Prime Day gaming laptop deals are here, and they have a tough task this year. 2026 has seen component prices (and therefore laptop prices) surge incredibly quickly, and the last few weeks have incurred a serious lack of credible discounts. That's all changed today, with early discounts hitting a number of our favorite models - just don't expect Amazon to have anything to do with it.

Both Newegg and Best Buy are running their own competing Prime Day gaming laptop deals this week, and they're offering far better discounts overall. In fact, out of some of my top picks, Amazon features only rarely.

While prices on some of the best gaming laptops aren't going to rival those of previous years, there are still RTX 5060s for the low $1,000s and RTX 5070s at the $1500 mark - and that's not something I've been able to celebrate for a few weeks now.

It's not a massive discount, but it does drop an RTX 50-Series gaming laptop under $1,000 - and that's difficult to do in the current climate. This Acer Nitro V 15 has skipped down to $949.99 in Newegg's early Prime Day gaming laptop deals, a solid starter rig.

Another deal event, another saving on the stalwart ASUS ROG Strix G16 series, and this RTX 5060 variant is a solid saving even if it was $1,199.99 back in November. I'd like a bit more RAM at this range, personally, but these days 16GB in this price sphere is usual. The specs are otherwise solid, especially the SSD, which beats out some of the competition.

The HP Omen Max 16 is the best rig I've tested so far, but last year's models seem to be dropping off the shelves. This is a premium on the 2026 release, but you're still getting an RTX 5070 Ti GPU for a solid rate considering the current market. It's just a shame that we previously spotted it at $1,779.99.

I've seen this cheaper back in November, but in today's climate this is a solid price for its range with a nice upgrade on components, packing more RAM and SSD memory than others in the mix, and with a hefty Intel 9 to boot. All topped off with an RTX 5070 Ti, of course.

Why are gaming laptop prices higher in 2026?

The current component crisis and RAM shortages are to blame for increased gaming laptop prices. As AI manufacturers hoover up all the memory, consume-facing brands are being squeezed. With higher demand comes higher prices, and it's the final product that sees the biggest sacrifice.

I'm seeing a number of gaming laptop deals working to circumvent these issues; dropping their memory sizes from 32GB to 16GB, reverting back to cheaper graphics cards, or dropping display specs. However, most of the rigs that have already left the factories in 2026 are seeing a serious upcharge.

Thankfully, there are still a few 2025 machines still kicking around - and they haven't felt the same purse pinch. While I've noticed slightly higher rates even on these older rigs, their numbers are much easier to stomach. Indeed, most of my top picks up above are a year old now.

With a new month comes a whole heap of new releases on streaming services to enjoy – and June is no exception. This first week brings with it several returning series as well as the release of a new Netflix original movie. Probably the most exciting pick of this weekend's options is Cape Fear, which adapts John D. MacDonald's The Executioners once again for the screen, this time starring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams.

That's by no means all there is to watch on the TV front either. On Prime Video, animated show The Legend of Vox Machina returns for its fourth season, which is now officially the penultimate season of the Critical Role adaptation. Then on AMC Plus, Interview With a Vampire returns with a new season titled The Vampire Lestat, which sees the titular vampire become a rockstar.

Films are equally as exciting this week as two major releases make their way onto streaming – and they couldn't be more different. Pixar movie Hoppers is now streaming on Disney Plus if you're after a family-friendly watch that's great fun, meanwhile Alexander Skarsgård's R-rated motorcycle romance is available on HBO Max. Finally, the queen of romantic comedies Jennifer Lopez is back for a new Netflix film written and starring Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein.

Cape Fear

"Let me ask you a question, what is your worst fear?" Javier Bardem's chilling Max Cady asks in the new Apple TV Plus series Cape Fear. Based on John D. MacDonald's The Executioners, it follows Tom and Anna Bowden (played by Patrick Wilson and Amy Adams here) as they deal with Cady returning to their lives when he's released from prison. Vicious and unpredictable, he is after revenge from the pair who represented him 17 years ago.

If it sounds familiar, there's a reason. This book has actually been adapted twice before, by J. Lee Thompson in 1962 and by none other than Martin Scorsese in 1991. Scorsese is a producer on this version too alongside Steven Spielberg. And with such impressive talent on and behind the camera, it's no surprise that the show has been landing rave reviews already, with lots of praise for the performances from Bardem and Adams. The first two episodes are available to stream now with the rest of the limited series airing weekly.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4

Based on Dungeons & Dragons web series Critical Role, The Legend of Vox Machina has won a lot of fans over its first three seasons for its fun, irreverent take on this beloved world. Now the show is back with a fourth outing, balancing comedy and adventure across 12 new episodes. This time, we pick up with Vox Machina, a year after they separated following the Chroma Conclave. Adventure, and a new evil rising, bring them back together once again to face an epic enemy.

Most of the voice cast are back for the penultimate season of the animated show, including the return of fan-favorite character Taryon Darrington (voiced by Wayne Brady). There's also a surprise introduction of Lord of the Rings star Andy Serkis too, who is voicing a mystery role in the new season, which you won't want to miss. The first three episodes are available now on Prime Video with new triple episode drops continuing until June 24.

The Vampire Lestat

Now before you start wondering if there's another new spin-off series arriving in the Anne Rice AMC universe, The Vampire Lestat is actually a continuation of the show that kicked this whole franchise off. This is Interview With the Vampire season 3, with a slight twist. Instead of continuing to tell this story from the point of view of Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), the new episodes shift the perspective to Sam Reid's Lestat de Lioncourt after he wakes up in the modern world and becomes a rock star.

The change-up in format has definitely worked too as the series has debuted to a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a lot of thanks due to Reid's magnetic performance as Lestat. This time around he uncovers new sides to his deeply flawed and interesting character and after all of the twists and turns in season 2, his relationship with Louis is still a key part of this story too and will unfurl in interesting ways across these seven episodes. The first episode arrives on June 7, with subsequent outings airing each Sunday on AMC Plus.

Office Romance

Rom-com queen Jennifer Lopez is back for a new Netflix movie written and starring Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein. Office Romance sees Lopez play Jackie, the CEO of a fictional company called Air Cruz. Part of her iron fist rule of the company is an extremely rigid anti-fraternization policy for all her employees, which gets tested when lawyer Daniel (Goldstein) starts working for her and sparks fly.

It's pretty much exactly what you're asking for if you're in the mood for an easy, light-hearted watch. Goldstein's dialogue, co-scribed by Joe Kelly, adds an extra witty kick to this world too, making it an enjoyable watch. It's Lopez who is the real star here though, bringing back her goofball charm as a leading lady, well honed from movies like The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhattan. Pixar's latest Hoppers is now available to watch on Disney Plus. The charming new animated movie imagines what might happen if scientists had discovered a way to transform human consciousness into robotic animals. Using the technology, our protagonist Mabel (voiced brilliantly by Piper Curda) "hops" into a robotic beaver to experience life as the animals live it. It's a great premise and one that Jesse Andrews' script handles deftly with humor, heart, and a lot of adventure.

The voice cast is pretty impressive too with Jon Hamm, Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep all starring in the movie. Widely called a return to form for Pixar, Hoppers received great reviews during its cinematic run so it's a bit of a no brainer to add it to your weekend streaming list too. The movie is available to watch right now as well, so what are you waiting for?

If you're looking for a darker romance that Netflix's new rom-com, then Pillion is another streaming option for you this weekend. The Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling-led film that won over critics at film festivals is now finally heading to HBO Max. It stars Melling as a timid gay man named Colin who's world is broadened by Skarsgård's Ray, an enigmatic biker. The pair start a BDSM relationship, which causes Colin to change in unexpected ways.

Written and directed by Harry Lighton, the film is based on the 2020 novel Box Hill by Adam Mars-Jones. Brilliant writing and absorbing performances really elevate this one, which you can stream on HBO Max now.

We've reached the end of May and while several of the month's major releases have already come out, there's still a few more exciting launches happening this week. Probably the most exciting pick is Nicolas Cage's first TV role, as he stars in new Prime Video Spider-Man series, Spider-Noir.

That's not the only exciting release in our list of the best new shows and movies to stream this week, either. There's also a new spin-off to Apple TV Plus' beloved series For All Mankind, which turns the focus to the Soviet Union. Netflix's runaway hit comedy The Four Seasons is also back for a hilarious second outing as well.

On the movie side, there's an under-the-radar horror movie landing on Hulu and Disney Plus, as well as an Oscar-winning drama. Then, just in case you missed it in theaters, Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride! is also now out on streaming, starring newly minted Oscar winner Jessie Buckley.

Spider-Noir

Nicolas Cage swings onto the small screen in new Spider-Man show, Spider-Noir. He stars as an aging private investigator and former superhero called Ben Reilly. When a new case lands on his desk, he must grapple with his past and decide whether he wants to become The Spider once again. It's set in an alternate universe to the rest of Sony's Spider-Man movies, but Cage did first play the role in the Spider-Verse films. However, this new show is based more on the comics, adapted by Oren Uziel to introduce a new version of this character in a slick, genre-driven drama.

One of the most fun parts about this release is that you can watch it in both black and white or color (read how to do that here). It's also landed some pretty positive reviews, with praise mostly falling at Cage's feet for his authentic performance. Our own Spider-Noir review gave it 3.5 stars with our reviewer calling it "a delightfully camp, low-stakes romp through 1930s New York City that proves Nicolas Cage is still cooler than all of us." The Four Seasons season 2

Now the show is returning with a second season, which follows in the wake of season 1's shock death. This time around, the group of friends navigate three new vacations with more baggage and a baby in tow. All eight episodes are available to stream now.

For All Mankind is undoubtedly one of Apple TV's best shows currently airing, telling an alternate history where the USSR was the first nation to reach the moon. In the original show, this kicked off a more intense space race that has been told from the American perspective so far. Well, now, new spin-off Star City is changing the narrative, telling the story from the perspective of the Soviet space agency.

It's an intriguing premise that will likely appeal to fans of the original show as well as newcomers to this sci-fi universe. What's more, it's got a seriously stacked cast of dramatic talent. Rhys Ifans plays the chief designer of the program, while Anna Maxwell Martin is the head of the KGB surveillance department at Star City. Early reviews have been very positive for the new show, which has opened to a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. The first two episodes arrive on May 29, airing weekly thereafter.

The Bride!

Based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein and the 1935 movie Bride of Frankenstein, The Bride! tells a new story set in a very familiar world. After impressing with her directorial debut, The Lost Daughter, The Dark Knight star Maggie Gyllenhaal is in both the writing and directing chair for this one. It stars Christian Bale as 'Frank', the monster created by Dr. Frankenstein, opposite Jessie Buckley as the titular Bride, a woman who is brought back from the dead to be his companion.

Buckley's performance as a radical rebel drives much of the movie, which split critics between fervent admirers and confused observers. Called a sci-fi fantasy version of Sid and Nancy and Natural Born Killers, it seems destined to become a cult classic. It's well worth your streaming time this weekend to make up your own mind on the 2026 release. The movie is available to watch now on HBO Max in the UK and the US.

Descendent

Ross Marquand stars as a traumatised school janitor in Descendent (2025)

This pacy horror likely flew under your radar when it was first released in 2025. Produced by Marvel filmmaking duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (who worked on Moon Knight and Daredevil: Born Again), this sci-fi thriller tells the story of a school security guard in Los Angeles who struggles to navigate his childhood trauma as he prepares for the birth of his first child.

However, things start to get pretty weird when he ends up seeing a mysterious beam of light one night on his shift. He wakes up after this odd encounter with images of aliens and desert landscapes plaguing his mind. The Walking Dead actor Ross Marquand stars in the lead role of this twisty and tense horror with a very decent 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. You can stream the movie on Hulu right now.

The Theory of Everything

The biographical drama tells the love story of physicist Stephen Hawking (Eddie Redmayne) and his wife, Jane Wilde Hawking (Felicity Jones). The pair navigate his advancing illness and rising fame across three decades of their lives, beginning with their first meeting at Cambridge University.

If you missed this one when it was released back in 2014, it's well worth a watch now for its tender and emotional retelling of Hawking's life. Nominated for five Oscars and winning the Academy Award for Redmayne, it's easy to see why this movie is so well-loved. It's on Prime Video in the UK for four days before it heads to Netflix in the US on May 31.

There are more criminal thrills in Cross season 2. And the final season of Outlander kicks off this weekend – the beginning of the end for Claire and Jamie Fraser's epic, decades-spanning love story.

New to Prime Video to stream this weekend

Young Sherlock

Guy Ritchie can't stay away from Sherlock Holmes, it seems, as 15 years on from his pair of Robert Downey Jr.-starring Sherlock Holmes movies, the British director is behind another incarnation of the legendary detective. In keeping with the likes of Netflix's Enola Holmes, Young Sherlock centres on a Sherlock before the deerstalker, as the 19-year-old Oxford student investigates a killing on campus.

Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Young Sherlock, the starry cast also features the likes of Colin Firth, Max Irons, Natascha McElhone, and Tiffin's real-life uncle Joeseph Fiennes. It'll keep you guessing until the end and, unlike some Prime Video shows of late, the breezy, 8-episode season is streaming in full now – no waiting for episode 2 – so there's no reason to delay.

Cross season 2

The second season of Cross continues apace, with episode 6 now available to watch on Prime Video. Adapted from James Patterson's bestselling novels (Morgan Freeman, most famously, played the character on the big screen), the Washington D.C.-set crime show followed homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, who has an uncanny ability to profile killers.

In episode 6, Cross gets a deeper insight into eat-the-rich killer Rebecca by deciphering the meaning behind her tattoo (it's more exciting than it sounds). But can the clues save the life of her next victim, or will Cross be too late once again?

Outlander season 8

To caveat upfront: the final season of Outlander is not free-to-watch if you have a Prime Video subscription, as the concluding season of the sweeping historical romance is a Starz show, so you'll also need to shell out for a subscription to the Starz channel within Prime Video. But if you can't wait to see how Jamie and Claire's epic romance comes to an end, the final season of Outlander delivers in spades.

Since their star-crossed paths intertwined in Scotland, Claire and Jamie have travelled across the ocean (and back) and settled in Fraser's Ridge, North Carolina. Almost a decade on from the latest spin-off, dreams of a new Stargate have been dashed. Originally set to release on Prime Video, we now know that the highly anticipated return of the sci-fi franchise won't be moving forward...at Amazon, at least.

Still, despite the series not going ahead, you may be wondering what happened? Why it was pulled, and also all that could have been before it was taken from our keen sci-fi hands. Well, that is where I come in. I've been tracking the Stargate series for quite some time and have put together all the information and details about the project in a handy place for fellow fans to look over and understand how we got to this point.

So, for an overview of what was once one of my personal most anticipated new TV shows, read on!

Why was Stargate canceled?

Amazon's new Stargate series was canceled due to Amazon execs being concerned that showrunner Martin Gero's vision would not appeal beyond the franchise's already dedicated fanbase (via Variety).

The show was initially announced in November 2025, and as of June 2026, it is officially no longer going ahead. Despite this sad update, the silver lining is that Gero remains under an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios and is developing other projects. However, considering how far in development the new series was, it's really a shame that all that work has been set aside.

Hopefully we get a new Stargate series still in the future. Considering the continued success of franchises like Star Trek and sci-fi hits like Silo, in my opinion, Stargate has a massive chance of being incredibly popular for a new audience; it just needs the chance to do so.

Writing for the new Stargate series was set to begin in 2026, with Martin Gero helming the project. If you didn't know already, Gero has a long past with the franchise and was a consultant and co-producer for both the Atlantis and Universe spin-offs, so we would have been in good hands here.

Other Stargate alumni Joseph Mallozzi and Brad Wright were also part of the creative team. Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, who also have Stargate bylines, were also confirmed as part of the team by Amazon News. And finally, sci-fi heads Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures were on board as well.

Joseph Mallozzi confirmed that writing on the project was even in full swing before the news of the show's cancellation, with work starting on January 12, 2026. Sharing the update via a post on X, Mallozzi detailed how the team is focusing on story arcs and mapping out "every beat of every scene of every act."

While writing was underway, a report from Gateworld suggested that filming was slated to begin in late 2026 and would predominantly take place in London. It really does seem like everything was in order and ready to move forward, so Amazon's decision to stop the project did take me off guard when I first heard about it.

There were no casting announcements for the new Stargate series before it was dropped. However, Amazon's blog did share that we'd be getting cast news in the future, along with production details.

While filming was reportedly scheduled for Fall 2026, that may mean that casting was indeed underway before the plug was pulled on the show. However, no actors have mentioned being part of the process, and no statement from Amazon has been made about the matter either.

We'll keep you posted if any new information gets revealed. Previously, I had thought that we'd see some Stargate alumni get involved in the series. After all, Stargate has a long history of bringing actors into new series from past ones as guest appearances. For instance, Michael Shanks (who played Daniel Jackson on SG-1) also popped up during Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. However, neither Shanks nor any other past Stargate actor has mentioned that they were involved in the canceled project yet either.

Considering that writing was still underway before news of the show's cancellation broke, we don't know much about the Stargate plot, but we did know it wouldn't reset canon. Instead of being a remake that retcons past events in the franchise, Gero reassured fans that this new show would have been a fresh entry point instead of a rewritten beginning.

In case you need a quick Stargate refresher, or this new series was your first venture into the iconic sci-fi franchise, Stargate revolves around humans discovering alien technology called Stargates. These are essentially wormholes that let people travel to different planets, and most series in the franchise follow an expeditionary team going through these portals and facing different adversaries and situations.

The last time we saw a live-action Stargate was back in 2011, with "Stargate Universe". In that show, the ending that fans got was seeing the crew of the Destiny being put to sleep in stasis. We may have gotten some kind of mention about the Destiny in the new series, but I was willing to bet money that there would have been a new crew this time around and a new adventure that is simply set in the established universe of Stargate, rather than a show that is trying to directly tie into all the previous spin-offs.

Gero previously stated: "We're gonna try to earn every view, be it longtime fans or brand-new people." So it sounds like we would have gotten a balance between respecting Stargate lore with the occasional fun Easter eggs and a new story that drives the franchise forward. Oh, what could have been.

The 1994 movie Stargate, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, Stargate: Continuum, the web series Stargate Origins, and Stargate Infinity are all available on Amazon Prime Video. So, there is plenty for us to catch up on while we mourn the loss of the new show.

And I have more good news. Netflix subscribers in the UK and US can now stream the three big Stargate series (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe).

There was a lot to process in the Masters of the Universe trailer, but perhaps one of the biggest takeaways from it all was how ridiculously fun it all looked. By the power of Grayskull (and even a bit of Dolph Lundgren), Nicolas Galitzine had the look down as both Prince Adam and his musclebound alter-ego, He-Man. One person who was only carefully applied to the preview, however, was Skeletor, the nemesis of Eternia’s champion. Jared Leto is taking on the role of the bony-faced bad guy that spent Saturday mornings cackling at every evil plan he hatched, and according to the new movie’s director, Travis Knight, he’s going to be doing all that and more.

“Skeletor was a really interesting villain,” Knight recently explained to Empire. “He looked cool. He was scary. He was funny. He was insecure. And then, of course, he had this distinctive voice.” Bringing the character to life in a new iteration meant taking a different approach to Skeletor. “I wanted someone to craft their own version of that,” Knight revealed. “Jared approached us because he loves Skeletor and has his own history with the character. He wanted to swing for the fences. And ultimately, we landed on something I’m really happy with. Skeletor’s kind of the embodiment of toxic masculinity.”

But while it might sound like they’ve got Skeletor down for this new movie, there were some creative choices that could’ve shown him in a very different form, namely, doing away with his skeletal features and hiding him behind a golden skull mask.

Knight was pretty direct to ensure that didn’t happen. “I said, ‘Fuck that shit. Skeletor has a skull face,’” See? Direct. “That’s just the way it is. It’s a living, talking, emoting skull, and that’s that.”

We're headed to a brand new location in Fallout season 3 – but it's actually not a new place for the franchise.

The Fallout season 2 ending reveals that Coop and Barb intended to head to Colorado, and, when the Ghoul opens Barb's cryopod, he finds a postcard that reads "Colorado was a good idea." The Ghoul then sets off for Colorado himself and is seemingly en route when we last see him.

As it turns out, though, we've actually been to the state before in the Fallout universe. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, which sees the titular group fighting a war, is a semi-canon game, but it takes place partially in Colorado.

Still, that game is pretty different from the rest of the franchise, since it's turn-based and is focused more on tactical decisions, as the name suggests.

However, the franchise almost took us to Colorado another time, too. The canceled Fallout 3, AKA Van Buren, included the state on its map.

So, while Colorado has a history in the franchise, Fallout season 3 can probably safely be considered the first, real time we'll see the location across the series. That's pretty exciting, since it means we don't have a proper idea of what kind of mutated creatures we might see, or what Enclave HQ looks like.

Another major talking point from the finale is that the episode managed to sidestep making any ending of Fallout: New Vegas canon. "Even when we do games, we talk about, 'Hey, what existed before, and how do you remain respectful to it?' I think what we try to do is tell the story from the perspective of the people in the world, and sometimes you're gonna get conflicting accounts," Todd Howard told GamesRadar+.

Fallout season 3 is on the way... and there's so much more of the Wasteland to explore. The Ghoul is headed off to a brand new location never-before-seen in the franchise, and we've got a plethora of new characters to come...

Prime Video ordered a third season in the months leading up to season 2's December 2025 premiere... which proved to be another smash hit, making it the streamer's second most-watched show of all time. Below, we've rounded up everything we know so far about Fallout season 3, and will continue to update you on the release date, plot, confirmed list of characters, exciting news, and everything in between.

Fallout season 3 release date speculation

Fallout season 1 premiered on April 4, 2024, with season 2 arriving on December 16, 2025. This is a relatively quick turnaround given the fact that some TV shows take two or three years between seasons.

Because Fallout season 3 is set to start filming around May 2026, we could very well expect a late 2027 release date. Executive producer Jonathan Nolan even referred to the long gaps between seasons as an "unfortunate trend" and told IGN, "You don't want the show to lose any of its scope, [so] we like to be back on the air as soon as we can."

As of right now, we don't have a full confirmed cast list. But we can infer, especially from the Fallout season 2 finale, who is set to return. Of course, our leads, Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins, are all set to return. As for our Vault dwellers, all of the members of Bud's Buds are seemingly dead (save for Claudia), but the members of Vault 32 and Vault 33 are still kicking… for now, anyway. Because Robert House was a main fixture of season 2 and we haven't seen all of the lead-up to the end of the world yet, we can probably count on seeing him again as well. The only main cast member whose fate remains unclear is Kyle MacLachlan, but we'll explain that below in our brief Fallout season 2 recap.

It's quite possible that we'll see Clancy Brown return as the last President of the United States, as we still don't know too much about the Enclave. We also might see Congresswoman Diane Welch in a flashback, despite her severed head being destroyed in the present day in episode 8. Macaulay Culkin, however, is about to become one of the most important characters in the series as his character has just become Caesar and is getting ready to lead the Legion into war.

In June 2026, several actors were announced as new cast members: Manny Jacinto, Emily Mortimer, Thomasin McKenzie, and Westworld star Aaron Paul. We still don't know many details, or who they'll be playing... though we do know Paul has been wanting to join the cast for quite some time.

What happened at the end of Fallout season 2?

We'll try to keep it brief. Fallout season 2 episode 8 begins with Legate (Macaulay Culkin) finding out that Edward Sallow, aka the Caesar of Caesar's Legion, never intended to have any of his men replace him. Upset by this news, he takes matters into his own hands and puts on the crown... effectively becoming the Legion's new Caesar.

It then jumps to the Ghoul and Robert House, who has digitized his consciousness into a computer system, down in the management Vault. The Ghoul demands that he takes him to his family, and the two walk (with House in a special Pip-Boy on the Ghoul's arm) through the Vault to get to the floor that holds Barb and Janey's cryopods. While on the way, House confirms that Cooper accidentally brought about the end of the world by delivering the cold fusion diode directly into the hands of the Enclave, in which the last President of the United States was, indeed, a member.

Elsewhere on the surface, Bud's Buds are seconds away from killing Norm... before a Radroach swarm flies out of an empty elevator shaft and attacks and kills them all (except for Norm and Claudia).

On the strip, the fight against the Deathclaws continues. Maximus almost dies, but a one-armed Thaddeus comes to the rescue with an impressive sniper shot. Sadly, this doesn't work for long, and Maximus ends up ditching the NCR suit for a stick and a poker table (wielded as a kind of sword and shield). Before the Deathclaws can charge at him, the newly reunited New California Republic comes stomping in to save the day.

Deep down in the management Vault, Lucy learns that her father Hank has been using the severed head of Congresswoman Diane Welch to keep House's robot experiments alive and give said robots a little bit of "personality." After she destroys the head, Hank attempts to implant one into Lucy in order to make her "his little girl again." Luckily, the Ghoul appears and shoots Hank in the leg. Lucy then implants the chip into the back of Hank's neck and demands he tell her what he's been up to. Hank then tells her that he's already sent the technology out into the Wasteland before pressing the button and activating his own chip. Lucy cries in his arms, but he doesn't recognize her. As Lucy looks around the Wasteland, Maximus appears – and the two finally reunite.

In Vault 32, the dwellers are still banging on Steph's door and demanding she come out and face consequences. Realizing there's nothing else she can do, she opens the box that Betty gave her. Inside the box is a special kind of Pip Boy made specifically for the Enclave. She puts it on and introduces herself as Hank Maclean's wife, before initiating "Phase 2."

As the Ghoul enters the cryopod chamber, we cut to Coop answering a payphone in the airport. When he picks up the phone, the voice of Robert House tells him, "I want you to know that it wasn't me... whatever it is that's about to happen. There are far worse people than me, Mr. Howard. I commend you for trying to play the hero... I really do." Cooper is then arrested and taken into custody.

The Ghoul enters the chamber and finds Barb and Janey's cryopods, but they're empty. Located inside Barb's empty cryopod, however, is a postcard depicting the beautiful mountains of Colorado. On the back, it reads, "Colorado was a good idea." The episode ends with Lucy and Maximus looking out over the Wasteland, knowing that a war is coming, and the Ghoul reaching Colorado. In a post-credits scene, the Brotherhood of Steel unveils the blueprints for a new, destructive suit known as Liberty Prime Alpha.

What will happen in Fallout season 3?

The possibilities are endless. Colorado is a state that has never actually been featured in any of the Fallout video games, which opens the door to brand new locations and creatures. Back in Vegas, however, the Civil War between Caesar's Legion, the New California Republic, and the Brotherhood of Steel is about to begin (And if that post-credits scene is any indicator, the Brotherhood definitely has the advantage).

Back in the Vaults, however, the worst is about to happen. Steph calling in "Phase 2" likely means that the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) is going to be inflicted upon the members of Vault 32. We might see Chet and the rest of the Vaultys turn into mutants, which sounds horrifying (but is terribly exciting to those of us who've played the games). The Enclave is also still at large, and we still don't know the scope of Hank and Steph's involvement. We'll also probably learn more about their marriage, and why Hank ended up having children with another woman in the Vaults.

Cooper Howard's unlawful arrest does explain why he's working as a birthday party cowboy in Fallout season 1 episode 1, but we don't know what happens between the arrest and the bombs actually dropping. We also don't know how he gets separated from Barb and Janey, so hopefully season 3 will provide this closure.

It's unclear what's next for Lucy and Maximus, who reunited at the end of season 2, but it's even murkier for Hank Maclean. The once powerful overseer and secret Enclave member is now a blank slate with a microchip. After Lucy abandons him in Vegas, he's essentially left to sit there until someone orders him to do something. But don't forget what he told Lucy: "The surface is the experiment." There are already microchips implanted all around the Wasteland... so who knows what that means for what's left of humanity.

What have the creators and cast said about Fallout season 3?

So far, the cast and crew are keeping Fallout season 3 pretty hush-hush. Executive producer Jonathan Nolan, however, told IGN that filming should begin mid-2026: "I think what's happened with television in terms of, you know, taking longer and longer from season to season is an unfortunate trend. You don't want the show to lose any of its scope, [so] we like to be back on the air as soon as we can."

In an interview with Keramagaz, Goggins commented on the third season, saying, "You know, I can say that it's going to go to a place that the fans won't expect, and there will be clues along the way. But there will be at least one definitive direction with a very specific purpose in mind." Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet also told GamesRadar+ that there would, indeed, be "new creatures" to look forward to.

Prime TV's hit adaptation of Fallout is obviously the result of a collaboration between Amazon and Bethesda, the company holding the rights to the IP, but according to Bruce Nesmith, a former veteran of the studio who left in 2021, the money Bethesda makes from the TV show pales in comparison to what it earns from highly successful games like Skyrim.

"What you have to realize about things like the Fallout TV show is that they don't make Bethesda money directly," Nesmith told Press Box PR. "I would be shocked if Bethesda is making any money that they care about really, not when you make literally billions of dollars on Skyrim. What you're going to make by licensing the IP to this TV show is just peanuts."

So, why license out the rights to a beloved IP if you aren't making any substantial money directly? Well, the obvious benefit for Bethesda is the explosion of interest in that IP should an adaptation be successful, which the Fallout TV show has proven to be.

"What it gets you is notoriety. It's marketing. Do they really need marketing for Elder Scrolls 6?," Nesmith pondered. The answer is probably not, but it's also hard not to notice things like the entire Fallout game series being heavily discounted just as the TV show's highly acclaimed second season is wrapping up, for instance. Seems like a symbiotic relationship even if Amazon isn't directly sharing profits with Bethesda.

In other news, Elder Scrolls 6 will "most definitely" have more trees than Skyrim, according to Todd Howard himself.

Hollywood had been asking Bethesda to make a Fallout movie or TV show for a decade before the hit Prime Video TV show adaptation, according to studio veteran Emil Pagliarulo, but the developer continually refused until they found the right people to run the show.

In an interview with our pals at PC Gamer, Pagliarulo explained why Bethesda kept rejecting pitches from Hollywood. Apparently, it's all thanks to the face of the studio, Todd Howard.

"Credit to Todd Howard, we could have made a Fallout movie or Fallout TV show a decade ago - we had certainly been asked. But Hollywood, at the time, they wanted to throw 'the videogame directors' at us," said Pagliarulo. "We don't want the guy who makes videogame movies. We want the best director, the best showrunner possible…a lot of it was waiting to find the right partner, and not just doing it because you could."

That's certainly valid. While there are some truly great video game movies - and while it's true that Hollywood's reputation for adapting video games for movie and TV has skyrocketed in recent years thanks to gems like the Fallout TV show and HBO's The Last of Us - 10 years ago that wasn't the case.

Later in the 2010s you had movies like Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog start to kick off this new and unfamiliar era of actually good and commercially successful video game movies, but a full decade ago, it was a much rarer thing. It's understandable that the top dogs at Bethesda were hesitant to let Hollywood run wild with one of their most beloved IP, when at the time it couldn't necessarily be trusted to stick the landing.

Still, ultimately Bethesda found a winning duo in Prime Video's Fallout showrunners Graham Wagner (Portlandia, The Office, Silicon Valley) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider). The show has been a massive critical and commercial success, currently sitting at a 95% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.

There was a surge of news surrounding video game adaptations this week. Not only did Sophie Turner get Tomb Raider-ready as Lara Croft, but Amazon also announced their pick to become the former Ghost of Sparta, aka Kratos, in their upcoming God of War series.

Former Sons of Anarchy star Ryan Hurst has been announced to take on the live-action version of the role for the show, which is being penned by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind, Outlander). For Hurst, it’s hardly new territory, given that he already went toe-to-toe with Kratos (played by Christopher Judge in the game) as this franchise's Thor in God of War: Ragnarok.

Following the announcement, Hurst took to Instagram expressing his excitement about becoming Kratos and taking up the Leviathan Axe, while sitting in front of a monster screen. “Used to play as him. Now I get to be him,” Hurst wrote. “Grateful to pick up the axe, and honored by the fans who made this story legendary.”

Thankfully, the man who previously helped bring the character back into the video game fold is happy with the choice. Judge took on the role of Kratos in 2018, leading the epic father-son journey, and recently shared his thoughts on the axe being passed to Hurst. "Congrats, Ryan!!!! You’re gonna be great… BOI !!!”

Currently, there’s no confirmed release date set for the series, but hopefully, developing news won’t be as hard to recover as Odin’s ravens. In the meantime, here’s every show heading our way in 2026 to keep us busy.

2026 is the year of Lara Croft. Besides the pistol-packing adventure hero returning to her original adventure by way of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Ms. Croft will also be brought to life once more by way of Amazon Prime Video’s Tomb Raider television adaptation starring Sophie Turner. The former Game of Thrones stars donned the shades and the shorts of the beloved adventurer and certainly nailed the look of Croft. But while fans chimed in on the debut appearance, one person who was quick to give the seal of approval was another Lara Croft.

Alix Wilton Reagan, who will be lending her vocal cords to both Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst (set for 2027), took to Instagram to praise the other impending iteration and backed Turner’s look. “Lara looking mighty fine / fire / fierce these days,” the voice artist wrote, as well as adding “@sophieturner - I AM HERE FOR IT.”

It’s great to see praise blossoming between stars who have taken on such iconic characters, but the question will be whether Turner can honor the hero she’s playing as well. Thankfully, it’ll be a team effort in bringing the Tomb Raider world to life, with a cast including Jason Isaacs as Croft’s uncle, Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson as Winston, the Croft family butler (who should be wary of walk-in freezers), and Martin Bobb-Semple as Lara’s tech pal, Zip. Former Avatar star and alien eradicator, Sigourney Weaver, will also appear as Evelyn Wallis, a brand new character to the franchise who crosses paths with Lara and is keen to see what she’s capable of. Naturally, we don’t trust her at all.

Other cast members include Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Celia Imrie, Patterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, August Wittgenstein, and Juliette Motamed. When we’ll see them on Lara’s adventure is unknown, as the show hasn’t announced a release date yet. In the meantime, though, here’s a list of some of the best shows heading our way this year.

He might be praying to the Allfather for a hand in the recent Avengers: Doomsday trailer, but Chris Hemsworth is certainly keeping his cool in the new trailer for director Bart Layton’s upcoming thriller, Crime 101.

The new movie, which seems to be matching the temperature of films like Heat and The Town, is adapted from a Don Winslow novella set in Los Angeles. Hemsworth takes the lead as a top-tier criminal who regularly leaves the law in the dust and plans to keep it that way for the final job he has lined up. As is customary for every thief’s last gig, though, he runs into issues. In this case, it’s an insurance broker (Halle Berry) who, after being repeatedly sidelined at the company she’s put everything into, chooses to team up and settle a score of her own.

Their big plan hits a snag in the form of a determined detective (Mark Ruffalo), who could wreck the whole scheme this double-act has in play, or worse, take them down permanently.

Feeling like a good old-fashioned crime caper with an impressive cast to boot, it’s an exciting prospect to see the former MCU co-stars playing cops and robbers for a change. Ruffalo has already done a brilliant job of flashing a badge, particularly recently with the hit HBO series, Task. Keeping this in mind, it’ll be great to see him try to throw the book at Hemsworth here, as well. Add in a blonde-haired Barry Keoghan being the tearaway criminal that could spoil everything, and we might have a worthy watch on our hands.

Across the first two seasons of Fallout, the Prime Video adaptation has recreated many iconic video game locations, even adding to the pantheon of Best Fallout Vaults from the long-running franchise. As any good Vaultie knows, evil mega-corp Vault-Tec is responsible for the construction of hundreds of underground settlements designed to allow Vault Dwellers to ride out the nuclear apocalypse, all while being unwittingly experimented on.

If you've been keeping up with the many Fallout season 2 Easter eggs, you'll know that the show has even canonized Vault 24 – the notorious underground settlement previously featured in unofficial New Vegas mod A World of Less Pain. So Fallout season 2's love for those disturbing test chambers runs deep.

Anyone who's spent time in any of Bethesda or Interplay's Fallout games will know catastrophe is a common result. But boy oh boy, is that selling it short a lot of the time. Some bunkers turn into absolute carnage, and what's bad for the dwellers, is good for us as the audience. These are the best Fallout vaults, picked from across all the best Fallout games and Amazon's show so far, to inspire you to do some digging of your own ahead of Fallout 5.

The best Fallout Vaults so far, starting with...

Vault 4

A pivotal and terrifying part of the first season of Fallout, where Lucy learns not every vault is a buzzing utopia like the one she grew up in. A scientific safe-haven, the human test subjects eventually gained control of the lab, turfed out their cruel overlords, and now welcome outsiders, even if begrudgingly. If you ignore the culty behaviour, they're actually quite nice, and it's the outlandish behaviour beneath the veneer of warmth that makes it worth mentioning here.

Vault 8

The origin of Vault City. We've already had Vault 4; might as well keep moving numerically. This historic bunker is part of Fallout 2 and a rare indicator of Vault-Tec's ability to manufacture genuinely worthwhile scenarios. According to the franchise's collective timeline, by the time the characters of the show would see it, it'll just be a communal basement for the city up above, but if the bustling and medically advanced Vault City is included, then so should Vault 8.

The starting point of Fallout 4, where you awaken from cryogenic sleep to find out your child has been kidnapped. There's a strong chance this is on the list of future Vaults for inclusion in the Fallout show, since 4 is such a magnificent entry in the games (just read our Fallout 4 review for more on that). We've seen cryogenics already in Amazon's series, creating some connective tissue in how different technology is exploited. It's an iconic location, and sticks in the minds of many players still today.

Vault 29

Fallout 76

The deeply punchable rich college kids of the world had to go somewhere, and a number of them wound up here. We only know of this one's existence through offhand mentions in the first Fallout and Fallout 76. That leaves the whole thing wide open for narrative use. A one-off episode could be amazing, but imagine if Lucy, Maximus, or The Ghoul had to rely on these spoiled losers repeatedly for something? The possibilities are high.

Vault 75

No sci-fi franchise is complete without a little eugenics going on somewhere. In Fallout 4, it's revealed that this vault contained an attempt at breeding soldiers who could weather the wasteland. Heightened strength and speed, and instincts for violence in an enclosed space. What could go wrong? A lot, and you get to find out many of the grim details. Not only is what happened here horrific, it also leaves the question of what other attempts did Vault-Tec make to achieve the same goals? This is likely just the research that’s been exposed, leaving a hefty impression.

Vault 87

Human experimentation generally isn't a great idea. It's downright terrible when you're trapped below ground thanks to nuclear war. Nonetheless, Vault 87 exists, and so do Super Mutants. Yeah. It's not pretty when this one appears in Fallout 3, and it wouldn’t be in the TV show if it were ever included, either. But the Fallout showrunners have shown they don't mind making things a little ugly and scary, and Vault 87 can bring a strong dose of both. In terms of Vaults in the games, few are as scaring or disturbing as this one. You sure won't forget it.

All sorts hide beneath the surface of the Mire, a radioactive swamp in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. It's a grimy place to find yourself, and it comes from the downfall of Vault 94. Full of pacifistic people who refused to take any weapons, raiders eventually got their hands on the vault, killing everyone. But a systems meltdown caused a containment breach, infecting the surrounding areas, causing the Mire. It’s bleak in all the ways that make Fallout poetic.

Vault 12

Ghouls aren't strictly undead, but they aren't exactly alive either. In an experiment to see what happens to people who're gradually poisoned by radiation, the result is the glorious Necropolis, as founded by the ghouls who emerge from this hole after the door isn’t properly sealed. You don't need to be a fan of zombies to see why that'd be an excellent addition to the Fallout show if they ever included it, though we advocates of The Walking Dead sure would be pleased.

Vault 109

This one will only sound familiar to people who're really invested in the universe, hailing as it does from Fallout: The Board Game. The five-star hotel equivalent of a Vault, 109 came with a supply of all the high-end products you'd want to continue living the swankiest life possible after the planet’s been decimated by nukes. These goods would make you a target for the desperate or downright gluttonous, and there's something to be said for watching the wealthy get their just desserts when they thought they could hide.

There was a point in time when Interplay was going to make Fallout 3. Among the ideas for the threequel that never happened was Vault 70, where jumpsuits become scarce after only six months, causing a scarcity of fresh, clean clothing. The community was going to be largely composed of Mormons, and those facets alone would've made it intriguing to see. An idea I hope gets included in some form of Fallout release someday, whether on television or in a video game.

Talk about a powder keg: internal systems designed to last only two decades, an abundance of weapons, and a requirement for overseers to be terminally ill when people first settle into the Vault. Oh, and a cloning machine creates multiple copies of one guy, named Gary. It's always Gary, isn't it? An implosion that'd make a hell of a one-off episode if Amazon's TV adaptation should pay it a visit, with an awesome opportunity for the perfect cameo in the person who gets cloned.

Fallout season 2 added some of the best New Vegas characters to its cast... but what about throwing some of the best Fallout NPCs into the mix? The Fallout video game franchise has a pretty impressive array of side-characters and side-quests, some of which are even more interesting than the central storyline (and I spent way too long following Joshua Graham around in Fallout: New Vegas).

It looks like Fallout season 3 will incorporate New Vegas and another new location, meaning there's still time for the likes of Sunny Smiles and Craig Boone to show up (and mostly I just want to see Craig piss off the Ghoul).

10. Fisto (Fallout: New Vegas)

The Fully Integrated Security Technetronic Officer makes an ideal next step after the TV show introduced us to Snip Snip, the rogue Mister Handy. Fisto is a Protectron model that can be tailored to specific tasks if the right disk is inserted. He serves, ahem, the intimate needs of his custodians in Fallout: New Vegas, but he needn’t be limited to such things.

Honestly, we love most of the robotic friends that you can meet in the Fallout games, but Fisto holds an extra special place in our hearts (he is also pretty funny, too).

9. Moira Brown (Fallout 3)

Lucy and Moira have a lot in common, considering they're both decidedly optimistic Wastelanders whose perspective is greatly informed by the specific community they grew up in. For Moira, that's Megaton, a town of rare vibrancy in Fallout 3, with many residents openly thriving and offering their services in different capacities.

She's the author of the Wasteland Survival Guide, something that could easily figure into Amazon's show somehow, as well as a seller of a small but mighty selection of weapons. Of course, Megaton is famous for the bomb at its core, the detonation of which makes for arguably the most famous scene in the Fallout franchise. I don't see anyone going near that in the screen adaptation, but it'd make a good plot device.

8. Tycho (Fallout)

Many Wastelanders get by through a certain kind of unshakeable grit. Tycho is one of them; a hard-drinking regular at the Skum Pitt, the grimiest establishment in the franchise. Years spent as a Ranger make him well-travelled and extremely capable in a fight, though his experiences haven’t dulled his spirit or sense of morality.

Conveniently, Tycho comes from Las Vegas, and there was definitely a missed opportunity to include him in Fallout season 2's New Vegas setting. He's not been seen since the first game, making a reappearance long overdue.

7. Sunny Smiles (Fallout: New Vegas)

Someone's gotta clean up the supersized lizards of the desert, and Sonny Smiles is one of the best. Besides trapping mutated geckos, she oversees the general defences of the town of Goodsprings, and if any of the Fallout show's protagonists swing by this little township, she'll probably be found questioning who they are and what they're about. Don't expect her to get too involved in anyone else's struggle, mind. Sonny favours neutrality, to protect the little sliver of peace she has.

6. Skynet (Fallout 2)

Artificial Intelligence project #59234 for the technical and slightly less IP-infringing name. Harkening back to before the world became a desert of ash, this AI started as just a mere tool, gradually evolving over centuries to become autonomous. But unlike the machines of The Terminator or The Matrix, this bot doesn’t want to do any more damage to us.

Instead, it hopes to eventually place itself into a cybernetic brain, in order to be then transferred into a body that can move around. Such humble aspirations! There's a suggestion that extra-terrestrials were involved in its creation... but there were no aliens in Fallout season 2. Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet, however, has teased "new creatures" for season 3... so anything can happen.

5. Craig Boone (Fallout: New Vegas)

"War, war never changes," proclaims Ron Perlman's iconic narration across the Fallout games. Few embody this nihilistic view than Craig Boone, a diehard former soldier of the New California Republic who finds himself gradually weathered down by the repeated carnage of the post-post-apocalyptic trenches.

Numerous battles of questionable morality left him unable to actively serve the NCR, but he'd never betray his fellow service-people for the enemy either. A watchman in the Mojave Wasteland, he's a warrior through and through, and would be a fascinating foil to The Ghoul's gun-for-hire ethos in the TV show. Though the third season is taking us to an, ahem, different location, there's still an opportunity for Craig to pop by.

4. Fawkes (Fallout 3)

One of the super mutants from Vault 87 (aka one of the best Fallout Vaults around), though categorically less murderous than his brethren. Instead, Fawkes is more like Beast from the X-Men: studious and aware of his faculties, despite his appearance.

A predisposition towards peace made him an outcast among the other mutants, who locked him away in isolation. A mission in Fallout 3 allows the player to free him, and it's an easy bit of poetry if the TV show canonized such a thing further. Either way, he deserves to transition over to the small screen because, frankly, we need more lovable heroes like him. We saw one super mutant in Fallout season 2, but the very end of the finale seemed to imply that we'll be seeing a lot more mutants next season.

3. Nick Valentine (Fallout 4)

Vaults aren't the only underground habitats in the Fallout universe, as the Institute sits below what used to be Boston. This elitist and science-driven society has been making advancements for decades, among them being synths – advanced artificial humanoids. Nick is an early model, whose personality is modeled by the memories of a pre-war detective.

He now serves as a public investigator, specializing in missing people. That would be awfully useful to Lucy, wouldn't it? Diamond City, where Nick resides in Fallout 4, is quite a ways away from both New Vegas and season 3's new location. We haven't met any humanoids yet in the TV series, and Nick would be a good start.

2. Harold (Fallout 1/2/3)

There isn't a huge amount of crossover between the first two, Interplay-developed Fallout games and Bethesda’s more modern installments. Harold is a character who bridges the eras, a mutated cross between a ghoul and a tree who's seen just about everything the irradiated landscape can throw at him.

Fallout's own twisted version of the Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Harold, is more resistant to being worshipped or sought after. A cult forms around him, since he's a literal oasis in the unrelenting desert, though he ultimately wishes for death. Not only should the TV adaptation honor his standing within the franchise, but his whole concept would also make for a heart-rending subplot. We seem to be heading towards mutant territory in season 3, and Harold's ghoul/tree hybrid would pair well with whatever the heck Thaddeus is turning into.

1. Joshua Graham (Fallout: New Vegas)

Fallout season 2 includes Caesar's Legion from Fallout: New Vegas, a nomadic force intent on invading and taking over the New California Republic. The group's belief system includes slavery, among other horrifying ideals. Joshua Graham is an early adopter of the Legion, and his Mormon beliefs are gradually whittled down by Caesar's brutality.

He's eventually punished for failings in battle, radicalizing him to oppose the Legion at every opportunity. Remarkably self-aware, he deems himself alone responsible for his actions, despite Caesar's intoxicating influence, and now seeks redemption. There's no better candidate for insight into the Legion, with a backstory that eventually becomes optimistic. Thankfully, we will be seeing more of the Legion in Fallout season 3, and it's quite possible that Macaulay Culkin's character could perform the awful actions that turned Joshua into the Burned Man. We wouldn't put it past him.

Fallout has dropped a surprise Christmas special ahead of season 2 dropping on Prime Video, and it's a fittingly macabre time with the Ghoul – which also hides a New Vegas cameo.

In the footage, which you can watch on YouTube and on Prime Video, Walton Goggins' Ghoul explains he has a fire going thanks not to a log of wood, but an actual human arm. Lovely.

Then, he kicks back to relax – after requesting we tilt his head away from the flames if he falls asleep – and a voice cameo from Mr. New Vegas begins. Check it out below.

If you don't remember from the game, Mr. New Vegas is an artificial radio host created by Mr. House. You can hear him in Fallout: New Vegas on (where else) the radio.

In the clip, he can be heard after the Ghoul signs off, and again at later points in the video, so make sure you keep the Ghoul's Christmas treat on in the background to hear everything Mr. New Vegas has to say. It makes for the perfect ambient background for your holiday meal, after all...

Fallout season 2 is dropping on Prime Video imminently and New Vegas will be a huge part of the new episodes. "We sort of approach it like we do a new game, right?" Todd Howard told us recently. "Like, hey, we're starting fresh, and okay, we're going back to Vegas. Number one, we've got to honor the journey that every player had there, and maneuvering that is tricky."

Amazon's upcoming adaptation of Tomb Raider appears to be gaining momentum, as cinema legend Sigourney Weaver is said to be in talks to join the cast.

The news comes courtesy of Deadline, but no character details for who Weaver might be playing are available just yet.

Weaver would star opposite Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner, who is picking up the dual pistols as Lara Croft in the show. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is writing and executive producing, with Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer.

Weaver, of course, is a genre icon already – not only is she Ellen Ripley in the Alien movies, but she's also set to join the Star Wars universe next year with The Mandalorian and Grogu, and she appears as both Dr. Grace Augustine and Na'vi youngster Kiri in James Cameron's Avatar movies. She can next be seen as Kiri in Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is out on December 19.

The Tomb Raider series was first revealed in 2023, but in April of 2025, it was reported that the show was scrapped. That turned out to be untrue, as Turner's casting was announced and filming was confirmed for 2026 in September.

According to production company Story Kitchen, the Tomb Raider show aims to "reinvent the franchise on a massive scale, interconnecting a new live-action television series and video games into a unified storytelling universe."

After a falling out with Amazon MGM, Road House remake director Doug Liman is making his own, separate sequel to the original 1989 movie instead.

According to Deadline, Liman has quietly acquired the rights to Road House, directed by Rowdy Herrington and starring the late Patrick Swayze, and will make a direct sequel titled Road House: Dylan. The news comes after Liman's reported ongoing tiff with Amazon, which began when the director boycotted the film's release due to the studio's alleged refusal to give the film a proper theatrical release.

Despite being a streaming-only exclusive, Liman's Road House reboot hit Prime Video in 2024 and became the streamer's biggest movie debut ever with a record 50 million viewers worldwide in its first two weekends. Road House 2 was quickly announced in May 2024, with Jake Gyllenhaal reprising his role as Dalton alongside new cast members Dave Bautista, Aldis Hodge and, Leila George. Guy Ritchie was initially tapped to direct, but exited the project over the summer. Nobody and Heads of State director Ilya Naishuller will now helm the project.

To make things even more confusing, there is reportedly also an ongoing federal lawsuit over the rights to the franchise as a whole, in which original screenwriter R. Lance Hill alleges that Amazon unlawfully acquired the rights to his script.

Camila Mendes says the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie is "very special" – and we believe it.

"I think one of the things I admire most about the film, and that I was so pleasantly surprised by when I read the script, is that it had the perfect balance of comedy and heart," Mendes told ScreenRant. "It wasn't a movie that was completely making fun of itself the whole time, but it has a good sense of humor."

He-Man, a barbarian from Eternian tribe and defender of Castle Grayskull (whose name is actually Prince Adam, apparently), first appeared on shelves and in comics in 1981. An animated TV show, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, hit the small screen in 1983, before the live-action film, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, hit theaters in 1987. In the upcoming remake, Mendes plays Teela, Captain of the Royal Guard and a true warrior goddess.

Continued Mendes: "I'm really, really proud of what we did. It's so hard to walk away from these movies because so much is going to be done in post that you're like, 'How do I assess what we just walked away from?' But I just have a feeling about this one. I could be completely wrong, but I think it's very special."

The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, with Jared Leto as Skeletor, Mendes as Teela, Johannes Hakur Johannesson as Fisto, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Kristen Wiig as Roboto, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena Glenn, and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man. Much like the 1987 movie, She-Ra is absent from the cast list...but I have a feeling she might pop up in a surprise cameo.

Travis Knight (Bumblebee) directs from a screenplay penned by Chris Butler (ParaNorman). A new He-Man film was first announced back in 2007, but would change studios and directors over the course of 15 years (Everyone Jon M. Chu to McG) before finally landing in Knight and Butler's laps.

The radio silence was already ominous, but now it's official: Gen V season 3 has been canceled at Prime Video.

To preserve what could have been, we have the latest reactions to the news, a breakdown of what we knew coming out of the second season, and more about the Godolkin cohort.

But be warned, there are spoilers for Gen V season 2 and The Boys season 5 below. Read on only if you're all caught up with our Gen V season 2 ending explained and our The Boys season 5 recap.

Is Gen V season 3 canceled?

Yes, Gen V season 3 was canceled in April 2026. As per Deadline, the college-set spin-off was officially canned after just two seasons.

"While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon," creator Eric Kripke and producer Evan Goldberg said in a statement. "You’ll see them again."

There's been no official word on Gen V season 3 being scrapped, though Eric Kripke's words urging viewers to tune in to the second season potentially speaks to a viewership problem. It's certainly not as popular as The Boys, while Kripke's mention of Gen V characters returning elsewhere means that there are potentially other avenues that better fit the next chapter in the story away from GodU.

But is that all there is? "There’s so much I wanna (and will) say, but for today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart," star Jaz Sinclair, who played Marie, posted on her Instagram Stories, perhaps hinting at the underlying reasons behind Gen V's cancelation. "I’m so happy you’re here and I’m so grateful for this incredible experience."

Gen V season 3 cast: who could have returned?

At one time, we believed the cast (and plot) for Gen V season 3 would be entirely dependent on the events of The Boys season 5. For now, it appears the cast of characters will be scattered to the winds, though we know Marie will appear in The Boys' final season.

Our tentative cast list for Gen V season 3 was as follows:

Gen V season 3 plot: what could it have been?

In another world, we expected Gen V season 3 to follow directly on from both Gen V season 2 and The Boys season 5. As you'll recall, the second season saw Marie Moreau and co. terrorized by the new Dean of Godolkin University, a mysterious man by the name of Cipher. Well, that man turned out to be none other than Thomas Godolkin himself, who survived the Vought Lab fire back in the '60s by taking V1, the kind of Compound V that essentially made Soldier Boy.

Because of this, Godolkin was given powers that allow him to essentially puppet other people's bodies... and he was able to puppet a man named Doug (aka Cipher) for some 20 years, while his real body sat in a hyperbaric chamber. His ultimate goal was to control Marie Moreau, who we learned is actually the most powerful supe in the universe next to Homelander... who are the only successful subjects of Project Odessa. After Godolkin was defeated (partially thanks to Polarity, who Marie healed with her powers), the biggest threat to humanity remains Homelander, who, after The Boys season 4, is in control of the Oval Office and supes across the globe.

At the end of the season, Marie, Emma, Jordan, Cate, and Sam all teamed up with Starlight and A-Train and are now officially part of the resistance. In The Boys season 5's opening episode, it was revealed they were working across the country as A-Train and Annie discussed one of Marie's missions. It seems the gang may stay off-screen for a while, too, as Kripke teased that they won't come in and save the day.

"People should be prepared for the Gen V kids to not come in and save the season," he told SFX. "We’ve been following The Boys for five years, and it’s time to bring that story to a head. I’m not here to make some crazy Marvel multiverse. I want to end that story well."

While we don't have good news on Gen V season 3, it's also possible there could be some crossover with the other spin-offs in the making. Could Marie and co. show up in The Boys: Mexico, another upcoming spin-off, or might Thomas Godolkin make an appearance in the prequel spin-off Vought Rising? Only time will tell...

The Boys-verse keeps expanding its gritty, blood-splattered, cape-wearing universe, even if the original show is coming to an end. Soon, we'll return to a relatively new part of it with Gen V, the first spin-off show from The Boys that will have us back for a second year at Godolkin University, the school where young supers try to find themselves and hopefully avoid killing each other.

One other project that's also been in the pipeline, however, is The Boys: Mexico, which was announced back in 2023 and has Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal on board as executive producers. In a recent interview with Collider, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke revealed how close we are to seeing it brought to life and what kind of show we can expect. Thankfully, it sounds like it'll fit right in with the world of Homelanders and blood-chucking heroes.

“The pilot of [The] Boys: Mexico is being developed right now. It’s very cool. I mean, who knows — obviously you never know, but I can say that the world itself meets the standard of all of our spin-offs," he told the site, who were attending the premiere of Gen V season 2. "It’s our world, but a totally different tone, and it’s super fun. Gael and Diego are executive producers, which is amazing and [they] really engaged with it, so — short answer is we’ll see, but I think the script is good.”

While it's reassuring to hear how things are coming along, The Boys: Mexico does feel like it's been taking its time compared to other spin-offs. Besides a second chunk of Gen V on the way, there's also the WWII-set series, Vought Rising, which is currently in production and will bring Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) to the frontline, showing what the older model of Homelander was like alongside that era of heroes that are anything but.

As for the show that started it all, The Boys will be unleashing its final season, which is expected to be an absolute bloodbath in 2026. Stay out of the splash zone and have your fresh glasses of milk at the ready, as we can only assume it's going to be (let's get this right) fahkin' diabolical. If you were excited about the upcoming season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, we have some bad news – the Prime Video show has reportedly been delayed indefinitely.

Production on the new season has been pushed back, with the future of the series now uncertain. According to Deadline, the delay is due to cast issues, but there are no more details about the situation. Prime Video hasn't issued an official statement either, so fans will have to wait to learn what's going to happen with the show.

Anora actor Mark Eydelshteyn and Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher were set to play the lead couple in season 2, taking over from Donald Glover and Maya Erskine from season 1. In the last few months, there have been rumors about the rest of the cast, with unofficially mentioned names including Lily-Rose Depp, Francesca Scorsese, Levon Hawke, Wagner Moura and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Meanwhile, production was moving forward, with Amazon MGM Studios receiving a $22.4 million tax credit from the California Film Commission on March 31 to relocate the filming of the show from New York to Los Angeles. Although Deadline sources say the show is on "indefinite hold", the publication also heard that co-producing company New Regency still hopes to start filming in early 2026.

However, the series' showrunner and co-creator Francesca Sloane has just been announced as the writer for the upcoming season 3 of Big Little Lies through an overall deal with HBO, so she might be a little bit busy to go back to the spy shenanigans.

Released in 2024, Mr. & Mrs. Smith took inspiration from the 2005 movie of the same name, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The plot follows two spies who are recruited by a mysterious spy agency to live undercover as an arranged married couple for their missions. The pair will begin to fall for each other for real in between increasingly dangerous missions.

After dropping a Sauron-centric video to tease production beginning on The Rings of Power season 3, the Prime Video show has released another behind the scenes look at the Lord of the Rings prequel – except now, it's from the good side of the conflict.

The show's official social media released the video, captioned: "The sword of the Faithful." In it, we see Lloyd Owen wielding Narsil, which Miriel gifted to Owen's character Elendil in The Lord of the Rings season 2 ending.

Those who know their Lord of the Rings history will know that Narsil will play a huge part in the fight against Sauron. If you don't want Rings of Power spoilers, look away now, but in J.R.R. Tolkien's works, Elendil fights Sauron with this sword, and Elendil's son Isildur uses it to cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand.

Narsil is broken in the process, but it's eventually reforged as Anduril, which is used by Aragorn – Elendil and Isildur's descendant – in the last battle against Sauron at the Black Gate.

The behind the scenes video doesn't give anything else away, but this is a reminder that an epic battle against the forces of evil is on the way.

"The answer is yes, we're very excited, but we can't say anything other than we're working on season 3," co-showrunner Patrick McKay told us last year. "We have a story we think is really strong, and we're hoping to turn it around as fast as possible."

The Boys season 5 and Gen V season 2 are closely connected, according to Eric Kripke.

Gen V is soon returning for its second installment, while The Boys season 5 will bring the main storyline to a close and is expected in 2026.

In conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke explained that Gen V season 2 will "carry the torch" between The Boys season 4 and 5 (but it will also remain a standalone). "There's a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys," Kripke explained.

Filming has wrapped on The Boys season 5, and Kripke bid the show an emotional farewell. "This is the last time I'll ever be on this set. It'll be torn down soon. It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude," he wrote on Twitter. "To #TheBoys family: I love you. To the fans: can't wait for you to see the grand finale. That's a wrap."

The Boys season 4 ending saw Homelander gain ultimate power and put the US under martial law, meaning Supes are in charge. Only Starlight and Butcher are free after Hughie and the Boys were caught by the rogue Supes.

Gen V season 2 will begin in the aftermath of The Boys season 4, though a few months later. That means we should get a pretty good idea of what Homelander's America looks like from the second season. Interestingly, Starlight actor Erin Moriarty has joined the cast, along with Nathan Mitchell's Black Noir.

The official synopsis reads: "As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever."

The following contains spoilers for Fallout season 1.

At the end of Fallout's fantastic first season, Hank, former Vault 33 overseer and keeper of various secrets about the wasteland, heads toward a sun-scorched city. Those that have only experienced the franchise through Prime Video might've seen it as simply a collection of ruined buildings in the desert, but fans of the games recognized the location immediately: New Vegas.

It's the setting of Fallout: New Vegas, the game that is the fan-favorite of the series. And it's the residence of the man that is perhaps Fallout's best villain: the enigmatic Mr. House.

While he showed up in a cameo role in the first season (played by actor Rafi Silver then, but now replaced by Justin Theroux), it's clear from the spotlight that both Robert House and New Vegas get in the recent teaser trailer that we're about to become a lot more acquainted with the man. Or, at least as acquainted as one can get with the famously reclusive CEO of RobCo Industries.

But despite his desire to play his cards as close as possible to his chest, Mr. House has come to represent Fallout's mythology in a way that few other characters can. He is both its co-creator and one of its kings.

Money-making at the end of the world

"There's a lot of earning potential with the end of the world," House says at a roundtable with other business CEOs as they discuss the monetary pros and cons of the apocalypse in the final episode of the first season.

Soon after, he and his ivory tower pals learn that their investments will be safe with Vault-Tec's construction of protective vaults across the United States: Vault-Tec muses about dropping the nuclear bombs themselves, meaning that they'll be creating both supply and desperate, potentially incinerated, demand.

This version of House isn't too different from the one we meet in the game, a man who rose from nothing and, through intelligence and unflinching business practices, ended up making billions.

But House obsessed over the idea that nuclear war would engulf the world, something he'd all but predicted with an array of self-made equations. And so, choosing to save Las Vegas as opposed to trying to help out the world at large, House prepared for both the war and his own revival. He put his body in a cryonic chamber and hooked his brain up to a supercomputer that could control and protect the "New Vegas."

The system he created was imperfect and prone to technical failures, but he ensured that, in time, he'd preside over New Vegas from his stronghold in the Lucky 38 casino.

Not your average arch villain

Despite having an amazing mustache, Mr. House isn't known for twirling it, so to speak. He isn't interested in absolute power, nor is he substantially cruel to those that work for him.

Instead, his villainy emerges from, as he says in the season 2 teaser, the fact that he knows "everything." In Fallout: New Vegas, while his physical body sits in a chamber, the player gets to know him through his face on a screen. From there, provided the player makes the right choices and lives long enough to get him to spill, he'll detail his current plans and the various measures he's taken over time to ensure his success. He'll play various factions against one another, offer treaties and countermeasures, and even try to predict the outcome of conflicts.

Many threats in the Fallout games are physically violent in nature, but Mr. House's danger is eerie in his distant and calm manner. He feels his success is all but assured – he built his own company, he knew how to (partially) save Las Vegas from nuclear destruction, and he has the measures to not only survive in the wasteland, but thrive.

Fallout's tagline is typically "War never changes," but Mr. House shows us that neither does hubris or greed. Mr. House believes that he's in as good of a position to prosper as he was when he wasn't, ya know, a talking computer screen. What other options are there when "the house always wins?"

As both the TV series and the games go on, it's clear that much of the strife and devastation that the world went through was due to the misguided ideals of a handful of individuals. It isn't just that they worshipped at the altar of cash rather than value human survival. It's that they became locked into ideas that will eventually turn them into specific kinds of gods.

For some, this was the ability to experiment with their Vault subjects like bugs in a jar. But for Mr. House, it was his prime opportunity to save his favorite city and effectively rebuild its infrastructure in his image.

It's yet to be seen just what Mr. House has in store for the second season of Fallout, but if it's anything close to the game, he'll come to represent both the tragic end of the world and its troubled new beginning.

The energy and glamor of Las Vegas drew him in, and he placed his bets on being able to rule it. We'll see how successful the TV incarnation has been when Fallout returns.

Fallout season 2 is taking a page out of The Boys' playbook with its upcoming release plans on Prime Video.

In a break from Fallout season 1's release schedule, the second season will be released weekly on Amazon Prime's streaming service. That means its eight-episode run will conclude on February 4 after premiering on December 17.

Honestly? It's the best move Amazon could possibly make. While Fallout was certainly a hit on Prime Video (being watched by "more than 65 million viewers" in its first 16 days), the slow burn format of weekly releases should better suit a show where mysteries reign supreme, alongside the added bonus of game fans being able to pick apart an episode frame-by-frame as it reaches more familiar game locales in New Vegas.

At Gamescom's Opening Night Live, Fallout season 2 unveiled its first trailer. In it, viewers delve deeper into Walton Goggins' Cooper Howard (AKA The Ghoul) and his glitzy past as he crosses paths with the nefarious Mr. House (Justin Theroux). In the post-apocalyptic present, Lucy (Ella Purnell) continues the hunt for her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) after the Vault-Tec revelations during the Fallout season 1 ending.

"This is a whole ‘nother level. I wasn't prepared for where the story was gonna go and how fully fleshed out on the other side of introducing this world to people," Goggins previously told GamesRadar+. "It's really quite something. I can’t wait for people to see it."

The cast list for Amazon's live-action Masters of the Universe movie continues to read like names pulled out of a raffle, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that comedy star Kristen Wiig has joined the ranks for the side of good. Wiig will be taking on the role of Roboto, voicing the ingeniously named character that was created by one of He-Man's closest comrades, Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba).

In the cartoon, Roboto was (wait for it) a robot that stood out thanks to his transparent chest that encased a series of cogs to make him function. Now, while you'd think having your innards so exposed would cause some problems in battle, Roboto could hold his own thanks to one of his arms having interchangeable attachments like an axe, claw, or even a laser.

Wiig is one of the last names to join the project after filming wrapped for Masters of the Universe in June, as revealed by the film's lead, Nicholas Galitzine, who gave us our first official look at him as the hero of Eternia as he faces off against Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. Joining Galitzine in the battle between good and evil are Riverdale star Camila Mendes as Teela, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, and Deadpool's Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull. Backing the bony bad guy that's often seen cackling a lot is Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, to name a few.

Directing duties are being handled by Travis Knight, who is used to smashing toys together, having handled one of the best Transformers movies ever, Bumblebee, and will hopefully be able to apply the same impressive talents he displayed in the incredible stop-motion movie, Kubo and the Two Strings. You'll be able to see if any of them have the power when Masters of the Universe arrives in theaters on June 5, 2026. Filming has already wrapped on The Boys season 5 and, now, Antony Starr has found the right time to say goodbye to his iconic Homelander character.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Starr paid tribute to the cast, crew, creator Eric Kripke, and – of course – The Boys' wonderfully twisted fanbase.

"This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience," Starr wrote. "And of course huge gratitude to my co-parent with this twisted gem of a character [Eric Kripke]. We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I’ll see you. But this creative chapter is closed, and I’ll miss it, brother." You can read the full post below.

Antony Starr's Homelander has been at the centre of some of The Boys' most controversial and shocking moments. Whether it was a unique act of self-love, an obsession with milk, or bumping off some of the Prime Video series' most notable characters, the stars-and-stripes-clad Supe is almost always around to wreak havoc.

As of The Boys season 5, the leader of the Seven is firmly embedded in the corridors of Washington as a major figure in the U.S. government. With The Boys either on the run or in captivity, it appears all roads lead to the White House in the final season.

The Rings of Power season 3 filming has kicked off, and the production announcement is all about Sauron.

In the video, which you can watch below, we see Sauron's crown being assembled and transported to set, backed by the villain's ominous theme.

Sauron revealed himself way back in the season 1 finale, after posing as Halbrand and teaming up with Galadriel. In season 2, the villain was in disguise again, appearing as Annatar to manipulate Celebrimbor into forging the titular rings of power.

But, Celebrimbor wised up to his act and Sauron abandoned his fair form at the end of the season, and he even ended up clashing blades with Galadriel.

The board now seems set for the most exciting season of The Rings of Power yet, with Sauron gathering his forces and the Elves preparing to fight back. Honestly, with The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum also on the way, there's never been a more exciting time to be a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's works.

Plus, this season, Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower has joined the cast, and he's teased that he'll be playing the Witch King. Whether this is the truth or a misdirect remains to be seen…

"Jumping forward several years from the events of season 2, season 3 takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last," reads season 3's official logline.

Every journey has an end, but chances are we won't encounter one as sweary as the final season of The Boys. Amazon's Emmy-winning series, which has mastered turning superheroes into villains, is set to conclude next year, and fans at this year's San Diego Comic-Con were fortunate enough to get a sneak peek of what's coming. Naturally, things don't look promising in this world filled with corrupt crimefighters after members of The Boys were snatched up last season, and Homelander (Antony Starr) seemingly seized complete control of the country, using the U.S. president as his puppet. What will it take to stop the star-spangled psychopath and his plans? Well, help from the younger generation might do the trick, or maybe something supernatural as well.

According to a breakdown from Variety, the teaser trailer revealed the usual mix of blood, guts, and questionable liquids, along with some new and familiar faces sprinkled throughout. You know the drill by now, surely? A bloody hairball being thrown up here, a violently unhealthy bathroom trip there. One detail that will excite Supernatural fans, though, is Jared Padalecki showing his loveable mug in the preview, continuing the trend of cast members from showrunner Eric Kripke's previous 15-season show appearing in the Vought-ruled world. Kripke himself confirmed back in May that we would see Padalecki alongside Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy and Misha Collins "all in the same frame together" at some point; we just don't know in what capacity, since Padalecki and Collins' roles still haven’t been confirmed.

The teaser also hinted at the ongoing crossover between The Boys and its spin-off super-school show, Gen V (whose second season is honestly looking like The Boys season 4.5), thanks to the appearance of one of its model students, Jordan Li (London Thor). Last we saw, they were trapped in an off-the-books facility along with the rest of the rebels in the show's first season, suggesting that they might be helping in the fight back against Vought and its unhinged poster boy here.

Speaking of that milk-loving madman, it sounds like Homelander got the real mic drop moment of the teaser, having now taken his new unofficial role as ruler of the country. Declaring the United States as "a safer, more god-fearing nation," we can only expect that things will be anything but by the time the final episode airs. We'll be able to see who gets their cape crumpled and their body in a broken and bloody state when The Boys return to town for the last time in 2026. No, that's not a typo. Invincible season 4 may be next up on Prime Video, but the superhero animated series wants to get ahead of the game with the announcement that a fifth season is in the works.

"Season fucking five. You know what that's called? A success," Cecil actor Walton Goggins said on a video posted to Invincible's Twitter account. From there, a quick sizzle reel of actors recording their lines, including Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons, are shown. As a bonus, it's also revealed that they've just finished recording.

You may even spot a familiar, if slightly out of place, face at the end of the clip. That's The Americans actor Matthew Rhys, though his role is "redacted" courtesy of the GDA.

That hasn't stopped fans speculating about the identity of his character, mind. The top two contenders so far? Invincible's Big Bad Thragg and Dinosaurus, a character who has split personalities as both a human and a dinosaur.

If we're looking more short-term, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman says he expects season 4 to be out next year. There's even going to be a hell-based storyline that was originally cut from the comics – something that was teased in the Invincible season 3 ending.

"Every superhero story has some chapter where they go to hell and they fight the devil. It happens in DC and Marvel comics. It’s a big deal," Kirkman explained to Variety. "I never got around to doing anything like that in Invincible. I kept getting sidetracked and there was never a good time. So it’s entirely possible that we may be doing something like that in the show, and that scene at the end of that episode is setting that up."

To get this out of the way, I actually own the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P version of the headset, designed with the PS5 in mind. The only difference there is, is that mine isn't compatible with any Xbox consoles, but it is still a perfect pair of cups to use alongside the PS5, PC, and of course, the Nintendo Switch 2.

You can hook up the 5 Wireless via Bluetooth to Ninty's new console, or simply pop the tiny wireless dongle into the new USB-C port at the top of the device, and you're ready to go. The utterly fantastic Neodymium 40mm audio drivers make Mario Kart World sound even more thrilling, as they manage to bring out the full vibrancy and depth of the game's OST all the while not making the roaring of your kart's engine sound too overbearing.

Where this wireless headset shines the most it's through its hundreds of audio presets, available through the Arctis app or the brand's GG software. With the limited first-party games available right now, there's only a Mario Kart World preset as far as Switch 2 games go, but even then, it still evens out the busy soundstage. I swear with it preset toggled on, that I've been able to escape far more koopa shells coming my way than usual, making it the key to my Mario Kart World skills.

Both the all-black 5X version of the headset and the white SKU Actis Nova 5P are down to $99.74 at Amazon for Prime Day. The only difference you'll find between the two, other than the colorways, is down to the patterned headband. The 5X features a black and green swirly pattern that matches more with the Xbox aesthetic, and the white version is, as you can probably guess, all white.

If you do prefer your gaming headsets to be a bit more on the colorful side, you can always grab the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless instead. It's not part of this week's Prime Day savings, but it is always just $109.99 at Amazon and comes in stunning Aqua and Lilac models.

I was able to traverse through the absolute minefield that was trying to get a hold of a PS5 right after launch, but that means I've been racking up trophies on the first model with its measly 825GB of storage.

Save $27 - This Lexar SSD was specifically designed with the PS5 in mind, and easily slots into the console's M.2 port to bring you an extra 1TB worth of storage. Amazon has dropped the drive down to just $67.27 for Prime Day, and as the big sales event comes to a close, it still remains that cheap. It's not close to a record low by any means, but it does make the inexpensive SSD even more budget-friendly than its $70 - $90 price point it likes to bounce between.

How much PS5 SSD storage do you need?

The main decision you have to make when it comes to picking a PS5 SSD for your Sony console is how much storage is right for your gaming needs. Most modern AAA games are pretty storage demanding, so bigger is better, but not every single PS5 owner plays them.

What size is right for you is entirely dependent on what you play and whether or not you hate having to uninstall games to make room for more. For example, I love PS5 games of all kinds, from small indie releases like Crow Country to big-budget AAA masterpieces like Death Stranding 2, so having 4TB worth of space is ideal for me. I could get away with just picking up the 2TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD, but I also pay monthly for PlayStation Plus Premium, and would like to have that extra space to download and try out not just the latest monthly games, but all the new additions to the premium game catalog, too.

If that sounds like a familiar scenario, then 2TB and above are going to make more sense for your PS5. If you play a lot of online games like me, I'd also recommend grabbing at least an extra 2TB. I play Marvel Rivals, Fortnite, and Dead by Daylight, and like ensuring they're all at the ready for when my friends and I want to play - having at least 2TB or 4TB of storage will mean my console can keep the games installed, and deal with their upcoming data-heavy updates too.

If you already own the PS5 Slim with its 1TB of storage, or the PS5 Pro with its larger 2TB onboard storage, you can definitely make do with just another 1TB at your disposal. Grabbing just 1TB is always going to be the best budget-friendly option, whether Prime Day is happening or not, and it'll still give you more legroom for dealing with your favorite games' future DLC, patch updates and any extra screenshots and game clips you want to store and capture on your Sony console.

Should you buy this Samsung 1TB microSD Card?

Unless you're on the hunt for one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards, grabbing this massive 1TB worth of storage for your older Nintendo Switch is a great plan. Honestly, my OLED Tears of the Kingdom Switch has now been added as decoration to my Zelda shelf, and even I'm about to add this Samsung card to my Amazon basket - and here's why.

First of all, let's talk Shadow the Hedgehog. I've been obsessed with that bad boy since playing Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast growing up, and even though there's just a silhouette of his edgy face on the card, it still looks incredible.

Like I briefly went over earlier, I normally don't care too much for these officially branded microSD cards, as once you pop them into one of the best gaming handhelds like the Switch, Steam Deck, or whatever compatible gadget or gizmo your heart desires, you aren't gonna see the design ever again. That being said, because of Prime Day, this Shadow SD card is actually cheaper than the non-branded counterpart, which is only down to $89.99 at Amazon this week.

If you're a big Shadow (or Sonic) the Hedgehog fan, and are in need of enough extra storage to store your massive digital Switch game library that you've been accumulating for 8 years, this Prime Day deal is worth it. Also, it packs in plenty of space for the 24GB needed to install Sonic x Shadow Generations and a ridiculous amount of Sonic games - which is what's really important.

The best Nintendo Switch cases, whether they're for the older handheld or Switch 2, are designed with portable players in mind. Whenever I'm sitting on the sofa and getting in some Mario Kart World practice, I prefer playing one of the best gaming handhelds I own in my palm of my hands, and a case means I can store it away on my coffee table, or by my bedside, and be less worried about it coming into harm's way.

Not only are cases perfect for a bit of added protection, but a lot of them are really handy for storage too. I like to have a few extra games with me in case of emergencies (especially as having at least one version of Mario Party on me at all times is a must), and cases with game storage are perfect for that. Some cases, like the STEALTH Premium Travel Case, even come with extra room for some of the best Nintendo Switch accessories, like a spare pair of Joy-Con 2 controllers.

Whether or not you need to have a cute Switch 2 case like any one of the Sonix x Sanrio cases above is the more important question at hand. If, like me, you're a fan of all things Sanrio and cute gaming accessories, these cases are ideal - just don't blame me if you get the sudden urge to play 100+ hours of Hello Kitty Island Adventure every time you catch a glimpse of their incredibly adorable designs.

Prime Day's Nintendo Switch deals don't feature a ton of Switch 2 discounts this year, but that's to be expected. The handheld is just a little over a month old, so I wasn't expecting to see huge savings on accessories, especially microSD Express cards, this week - but now the Ninty tides have turned.

The officially licensed 256GB Samsung microSD Express Card has just dropped to $59 at Amazon, in what marks its first-ever discount so far. At $59, it might still on the expensive side for some, and that's totally understandable, but you're not going to find any other Switch 2-compatible SD card this cheap right now. Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals will only last so long, and this is going to be a particularly popular offer.

Should you buy a 256GB microSD Express card for your Switch 2?

If you want to budget as much as you can after forking out for your Nintendo Switch 2, you don't need to grab a 256GB microSD Express Card for extra storage. Plenty of Ninty fans can make do with the 256GB onboard storage of the handheld, especially those who stick to indie games and their less demanding storage requirements.

That being said, grabbing one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards is a great way to prepare yourself for the future. This month alone, Donkey Kong Banaza is planned for release on July 17, and Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is heading to the handheld on July 24, and having extra storage is the best way to prepare.

A 256GB microSD Express Card is one of the first accessories I grabbed for the Switch 2, as I knew the onboard storage wouldn't last. First-party Switch games aren't as massive as the biggest AAA games on Steam, but I wanted to ensure I wouldn't be faced with any annoying "your storage is full" notifications after re-downloading my favorite older Switch games. Especially as the 21.9 GB worth of Mario Kart World already took a chunk out of my handheld's storage on launch day.

MicroSD Express Cards are so new that deals like this Prime Day discount aren't typical. Even if you aren't going to pick up any other Switch 2 games this year, I highly recommend not skipping out on this one-of-a-kind deal, as it likely won't be until the end-of-year holiday saving events that we'll see one like it again.

If you were considering picking up the Switch 2 Edition games amongst the best Amazon Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals this week, I highly recommend that you don't.

As a hard-core Zelda fan, I never thought I'd be telling someone not to grab a Zelda game, but here me out - you can save a lot more by grabbing the older Switch version Tears of the Kingdom for $47.99 at Woot right now instead.

I get the allure of having a Nintendo Switch 2 box sitting on your shelf, especially as someone who has an entire shrine in their office for the incredible Ninty game series, don't get me wrong. But this Prime Day, grabbing the original Switch version is still a better deal - and I'm here to tell you why.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | $69.99 $47.99 at Woot
Save $22- Amazon's Woot is also getting in on the deals this week, as Tears of the Kingdom is down to just $47.99 right now. If you had your eyes on the Switch 2 Edition instead, remember you can pick this up and get access to the upgrade pack as part of your Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership for no additional cost.

UK: £42.99 at AmazonView Deal

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Tears of the Kingdom doesn't come cheap, and the upgraded version of the incredible open-world sequel will cost you $79.99 at Best Buy and other US retailers. If you're desperate to see a Switch 2 spine on your shelf, I'm not gonna stop you from picking it up for your brand-new handheld, but if you want to save some cash, it's not your best option.

The original Switch copy of Tears of the Kingdom is down to $47.99 at Woot this week, saving you $22 of its $69.99 MSRP. On its own, this is a great deal as it's not only the lowest I've spotted for the game so far, but as most of Ninty fans are aware, it and the rest of the first-party games rarely see decent savings like it.

However, it's where the upgrade pack comes in that truly makes grabbing the older game still worthwhile. If you happen to be a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack member, you can get the Tears of the Kingdom upgrade pack at no additional cost. That means you can still get the Switch 2 Edition, but instead of forking out $79.99, it'll cost you $47.99 with this current Amazon Woot deal.

Again, it means you'll have an older Switch game box sitting on your shelf, but if you don't really care about that, then there's no real loss.

If you aren't a paying NSO Expansion Pack member, even paying for the upgrade pack separately is still cheaper than the Switch 2 Edition of the game. Right now, you can grab the upgrade pack for $9.99 at Amazon, or buy it directly through the Switch 2 eShop, and together that'll just cost you $57.98 - so you're still saving $22 using this method.

This doesn't just apply to Tears of the Kingdom either. Right now, you can grab Super Mario Bros Jamboree for $44.99 at Woot, which saves you $15 off its MSRP. It's Switch 2 upgrade pack is available to pre-order for $19.99 at Amazon, and taht $64.98 total is still cheaper than the $79.99 MSRP of Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV.

Should you buy the Corsair Void Wireless V2 gaming headset?

If you're after a new gaming headset but don't have all the cash in the world to spend, you're not as limited with options as you'd think. There are a ton of inexpensive headsets available today that, while they aren't as feature-full as the best gaming headsets out there, still manage to be of a high-quality and make every dollar count, just like the Corsair Void Wireless V2 wireless headset.

During my original two weeks' worth of testing, the Void V2 made the "the low, mids, and high ranges sound clear as day" while I was playing Marvel Rivals on the PS5, but it was through Dead by Daylight where it truly blew me away. The headset includes Dolby Atmos spatial audio support, which added an extra level of immersion and made DBD sound as spooky as ever. During my initial two weeks of testing, the Blood Moon event was running, which changed the logo at start-up. The instant the updated DBD logo changed to blood red, this creepy sound effect was triggered, which made me jump out of my seat, making this headset a horror gaming fan's dream.

It's not just the audio quality that the Void V2 has going for it. If you want Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless support for your PS5, PC, and everything from the Steam Deck to the original Switch, the setup is simple and perfect for multi-platform players. The battery life is pretty impressive too, as you can get up to 70 hours' worth of juice before having to grab that USB-C charging cable.

Of course, its flashy RGB lighting will drain the battery ever so slightly, but if having that trademark gamified look is important, you can leave them on. Corsair has added the option to toggle them on and off through the iCue software, which is a handy little addition to this incredible headset.

If you're after a more premium alternative, the Corsair Virtuoso Max wireless is down to $249.99 at Amazon right now. It still provides that top-notch Corsair quality and Dolby Atmos audio, but piles on active noise canceling and 50mm Graphene Drivers, along with some futuristic re-mappable onboard controls too.

Not everyone can fork out around $250 for a headset, however, so this $89.99 Corsair Wireless Void V2 deal is still ideal for those after a low-cost pair of cups who still want the high-quality that the brand is known for.

Because The Dark Knight is one of my favorite superhero movies (and it's not even close), this Lego Batman set got my attention like a Batarang to the head as we gear up for Prime Day. I mean, a record low price on a kit that's perfect as a gift, for displaying on shelves, or as a playset? Yes please.

You can currently grab the Lego Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & Joker set for $47.99 at Amazon instead of $59.99 (or for £41.99 at Amazon rather than £54.99 if you're based in the UK). I've never seen it for less than that, and price-matching software suggests that this is better than the average cost too.

Because the offer doesn't have a Prime Day label, I'm not sure how long this offer will last. I doubt it'll drop any more either, because it's hovered near MSRP for the majority of this year. That means you're unlikely to see it dip as part of this year's Prime Day Lego deals.

Lego Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker | $59.99 $47.99 at Amazon
Save $12 - Thanks to a 20% discount, this kit has hit a new record low. It's also a few bucks lower than the previos low, not to mention the average cost of between $50-something.

It's rare to find a kit that's so multi-purpose, but this is one of those rare sets that can do everything; it's ideal for adults wanting a display piece or for putting in the toybox. Much like Lego The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron, it's incredibly versatile and can offer something for everyone - no matter their age. That puts it shoulder to shoulder with the best Lego sets if you're a Batman fan, and I'd struggle to choose another kit that does the same thing so well.

Alright, so there is a much bigger, more detailed version available that dwarfs this one. However, it's also far more expensive, harder to find, and doesn't include the Two-Face minifigure. I've seen it in person and it does take the breath away in terms of sheer scale, but to be frank, I'd still choose this cheaper option every time. I think it does just as good a job with the pieces it has but adds extra minifigs, isn't going to put a Batsignal-sized dent in your bank balance, and won't take up as much room on your shelf.

The surprisingly accurate Tumbler (in spite of its smaller size) is all good and well, but one of the things I love most is that it includes the most memorable characters from that movie - Bats, Joker, and Two-Face as they appeared in The Dark Knight - alongside fitting accessories. Joker has cash he's presumably about to set fire to, while Two-Face has his double-sided coin. The inclusion of a Batsignal is also a bonus.

So, the TLDR: I reckon this is the ideal kit for those who love 2008's The Dark Knight, no matter their age. It is, in fact, the Lego set we need right now.

Prime Day PS5 deals are still going strong, and throughout this week's sales, my backlog has gotten even more ridiculous - if that's even possible.

Some of the biggest releases over the past year (and the games I've been itching to play), like Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, are still down to $39.99 at Amazon, saving you 33% off its $59.99 MSRP. It's not alone either, as the PS5 port of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also down just $62.70 at Amazon, which marks the lowest-ever price for this version of Indy's first-person adventure.

To take full advantage of the best Prime Day PS5 deals for games on the Sony pixel-pushing beast, you will need to have a disc edition launch PS5, PS5 Slim, or the official disc drive for the fancy PS5 Pro. But being able to play physical games is worth it, especially as after Prime Day comes to an end later today, it'll be a while before any of these games see savings this low.

Should you buy physical PS5 games in 2025?

Even five years into the PS5 console's lifespan, I'm always going to be a strong advocate for buying physical games. The simple reason is, is that it's typically monumentally cheaper to pick up even reasonably new PS5 games physically than it is to grab them on the PlayStation online store.

If you have a digital-only console and don't actually have a means to play discs, I get it. You can pick up the official PS5 Disc Drive for $79 at Amazon and get the best of both worlds, but I understand not wanting to fork out that extra cost purely to play physical games. However, in the long run, you will save a lot by at least having that option open to you.

Not only will that mean you can borrow physical games from a friend, but even big new releases get cheaper months after release. I'm a huge fan of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, but I usually wait a while before picking them up. I still have yet to play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and right now I can pick them both up for $24.99 at Amazon, and $39.99 at Amazon, respectively, which is the cost for just one of the games at launch.

If you don't have the space for physical games, that's entirely understandable. I have very limited space in my house, and constantly buying discounted PS5 games isn't helping. At least with a physical and tangible game in your hands, you can always lend it out to friends to help free up some precious gaming shelf space.

Prime Day is now upon us, and plenty of family board games are being hit with the discount hammer as a result. Three in particular caught my eye thanks to their legendary status amongst the community.

First up to bat is Carcassonne, a beloved tile-laying family board game that helped redefine the industry when it first launched in the early 2000s. You can grab it for just $20.15 at Amazon rather than the usual cost of $42. Meanwhile, Ticket to Ride (which I'd say is one of the best board games for beginners) is a mere $26.39 at Amazon, down from $50. Finally, the latest version of Catan is $41.99 at Amazon instead of $50.

There are lots of other tabletop price cuts flying around at the moment as a part of this year's year's Prime Day board game deals, but these caught my eye first due to how essential both are. They're the kind of family board games I think everyone should have in their collection.

Save $23 - Thanks to a 50% discount, this classic game has dipped far below the average cost of $43 we see most of the time. Could it fall further as Prime Day wears on? As someone who's been covering the board game industry professionally for over six years (and playing board games for far longer than that), I always recommend these two as great starting points for anyone hoping to get into the hobby. While they're more complex than classics like Clue, they're not nearly so complicated as other strategy games. That makes them excellent 'gateway' games, gently easing you into a whole new world.

As noted in our Carcassonne review, the tile-laying extravaganza has "wedged itself firmly in the 'easy family fun' category." It isn't hard to get your head around (place tiles to create a map, and place wooden people on landmarks to earn points), but has more tactical depth than you might first expect. It's great for two or more players as well, so works if you're planning your next date night.

Similarly, Ticket to Ride is one of - if not the - best family board games thanks to how gently it introduces players to more advanced mechanics. It's also plain fun, which is probably the most important thing.

Your aim is to create a train line across North America or Europe (depending on the version you get) by following specific, hidden routes given to you on cards, but it's possible for rivals to lay tracks blocking yours. That means careful thinking ahead is required, not to mention being subtle so foes can't work out where you're trying to go.

Like I mentioned in my Ticket to Ride review, this is "accessible, low-key, and very replayable [...] the perfect option for newcomers and tabletop veterans alike."

Finally, the latest version of Catan (which only came out in January) modernizes a game that revolutionized the industry. It's a phenomenal gateway game if you're new to the hobby, serves as a fantastic family game for more experienced players, and is flush with a wealth of expansions if you want to take things further. As pointed out in our Catan review, this is a classic you'll actually want on your shelf.

This early Prime Day deal has taken 37% off the $379.99 MSRP headset, but if you want a bigger discount, it's worth keeping a watchful eye on the premium pair of cups once the Prime Day deals officially roll out from July 8 to July 11.

That fluctuation in price and its tendency to play a part in the biggest sales events of the year means it's very likely to get even cheaper once Prime Day officially begins. If you can't wait until the savings start next week, its current deal price is still worthwhile.

Not only do you get to keep $139 to put towards more Amazon Prime Day goodies, but you're still getting a considerable amount of cash off my favorite headset I've ever tested, and that's saying something as someone who's got over 100 headsets kicking about their gaming setup.

Should you buy the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headset this Prime Day?

Anyone who just sticks with the PS5 and only the PS5, for example, will have a much better time with headsets ike the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless, especially when it comes to its price, as it's just $119.99 at Amazon right now. However, for those who play on the PS5, PC, and a slew of other platforms, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is well worth your attention.

The Pro Wireless is oozing with quality, from its mighty sounding 40mm Neodymium audio drivers, hot-swappable batteries that make charging a thing of the past, to its accompanying base station that's at the heart of what makes it a multi-platform marvel. However, all of those premium features come with a premium price, and the $379.99 is what you can expect to pony up if there are no deals around.

That's why this Prime Day is a perfect time to try and grab the headset for as low a price as possible. It's all well and good hearing about the potential candidates for the next James Bond, but other news about Amazon MGM's most anticipated movie project might have fans a little worried. Following the announcement earlier this week that Dune and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve has been tasked with directing the next Bond movie, reports reveal that he won't have the final say on what makes it to theaters.

The news comes from Puck, who also confirmed that the top-secret signing of the revered filmmaker is currently only a one-time deal. After he's done shaking (but not stirring) up whatever adventure Bond finds himself on next, it will be onto the next daring director who thinks they can handle the secret agent. However, that depends on whether the film is a success, in which case Villeneuve could return for a follow-up.

But just as M accepted that her best agent gets the job done when he's left alone, would the studio really hold back the filmmaker behind some of the best films of the last decade? As Villeneuve himself stated in his official statement following his hiring, "To me, he’s sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor."

One of the most essential parts of the mission that still isn't finished is finding a writer for whatever Villeneuve has in store for Mr. Bond. Right now, no names are confirmed, but whoever it is will need to start working while Villeneuve is off on his final trip to Arrakis with Dune: Messiah. Only then will we find out if James Bond will return looking like Spider-Man, a guy who had alone time in a bathtub, or the fella who's more fond of a glass of milk than a martini.

As we await the new Superman, which will land in theaters in just a few weeks, Amazon, MGM Studios, and United Artists have revealed that the former Jor-El and Kal-El from Zack Snyder's Man of Steel will team up once more, only this time as legendary immortals in Chad Stahelski's Highlander remake. Variety reports that Crowe will be taking on the role of mentor to Cavill's titular hero, who teaches him how to live and fight for a life that won't end until someone lops his head off.

Retreading over the story from the 1986 classic, Highlander followed Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, a Scotsman from the 16th century, who learns he is among a select group scattered across the globe who all share the gift of immortality. This connection draws the immortals to one another, resulting in duels to the death, until only one remains. The original film (which had a legendary soundtrack from Queen) also starred Sean Connery as Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez, who teaches MacLeod how to fight in preparation against The Kurgan (a terrifying Clancy Brown), one of the most feared immortals who is out to get our hero.

It's another major update for the project that has been wandering around Hollywood for years, until it ended up in Stahelski's hands in 2016. The John Wick director confirmed back in May that filming was set to start later this year, promising that "in 2027 or 2028, you’ll be watching Highlander.”

DCEU fans will undoubtedly find some satisfaction in seeing their former Man of Steel stars on screen together, even if they lack the big, flaring S shields on their chests. Perhaps the most exciting aspect is whether Crowe will maintain his current track record from The Pope's Exorcist and Kraven the Hunter and adopt another intriguing accent for the character he'll portray here. Well, those immortals do get around, you know.
