Belkin used to be a brand that, for me, felt synonymous with phone accessories. But now I relate the six-letter name solely to providing me with options to manage the Nintendo Switch 2's horrendous battery life.

First, it achieved this with the Belkin Charging Case, one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories I've tested to date. It encompasses a case with a 10,000mAh power bank included inside that allows you to carry and charge your handheld on the go. This was followed up by a Pro model, so it felt a bit inevitable that the brand would have its sights set on incorporating its handy charging prowess into a Switch 2 Grip case.

The end result sadly isn't perfect. The aforementioned power bank creates an uncomfortable dynamic. Its weight can add some strain that makes me feel like I'm playing the Steam Deck OLED, a handheld I deliberately don't use as much as I'd like to due to its chonky form factor. That, combined with the fact that this accessory is pretty pricey and not compatible with any of the brand's cases, adds extra layers of annoyance to an otherwise solid piece of Nintendo-compatible tech.

Design

The Belkin Charging Grip is composed of four pieces: two ergonomic handles for either Joy-Con, a section that attaches to the base of the console, and a 30W 10000mAh power bank that magnetically attaches to that.

I was provided with the Olive colorway, so all of these pieces arrived to me in a matcha-green shade, but it's also available in Black and Lilac colors if green isn't your thing. Strangely, Belkin chose not to match the color ranges available to the Belkin Charging Case Pro and the rest of its Switch 2 case lineup, which feels like a missed opportunity. However, I'm thankful to see any variation at all when plain all-black grips, like that as part of the Fastnsnail Switch 2 Protective Case, are all too common.

It also helps the Belkin grip stand out, as no matter the brand, grip cases tend to all look a little similar. You should at least be able to tell Belkin's apart from alternatives besides its unique colorways, as its design is sleeker than I've seen before. When attached, the two Joy-Con handles don't sit across the entirety of the gamepads, and instead start at the mid-way section of the right stick and ABXY buttons on the other side. They then hang to the bottom of the controllers, giving them a more Switch 2 Pro Controller look and feel.

Features

The main section of the Belkin Charging Grip is pretty basic. It's a surprisingly thin piece of plastic that hangs to the back of the handheld's 7.9-inch display, providing cut-out sections to ensure all the vents and ports can be accessed properly. It also allows full use of the handheld's kickstand, which is all pretty run-of-the-mill and what you'd want for one of these case and grip combo accessories.

Yet, it's what's hanging on the back that makes it special, and why it's got that $99.99 / £69.99 price tag. The back of this accessory is designed to host a power bank, which attaches magnetically. If you've ever used MagSafe phone accessories, it's a similar process; however, the case also includes four small recessed cylindrical-shaped modules that match with four small prongs sticking out of the charger to ensure that it stays put when attached.

The 10000mAh power bank in question includes an LCD window which shows you its remaining battery when you press the small button on its side. Additionally, it features a small USB-C cable which is hidden on the side that stays flush with the handheld. You can keep it hidden or connect it to give your console 1.5x worth of extra juice while gaming on the go - or when you're in the main room of your house and can't be bothered to source your AC adapter (a scenario I find myself in fairly often).

Performance

Traditional grip cases (Belkin calls this a "Charging Grip" but it's basically a grip case) are there to give your handheld some added protection, while adding some ergonomic flair to the uncomfortable flat-backs of the Joy-Cons. By incorporating a 30W 10000mAh battery into the mix, things get a little heavy, which is not ideal.

Throughout my weeks of testing, I was playing plenty of Star Fox and later, Rhythm Paradise Groove, and ended up having to play both while leaning the bottom of the Switch 2 against my lap. An experience that's the norm when it comes to playing my Steam Deck, but not one I admire. I normally play my Switch 2 while it's hovering in the air as it's light and comfortable enough to do so, but the weight of the power bank was constantly pulling my hands down. Any attempt to fight against it was not a feeling I wanted to persist on my wrists.

I believe that's exactly why Belkin chose not to have the power bank attached by default, but instead included a magnetic mechanism. With that in tow, it means you don't have to have it attached at all times and give your wrists a break. Which is exactly what I did during my time testing this device.

After the few short 20 minutes it took to take my handheld's power from 60 to 100% charged, I simply pulled it off and set it aside. Much to my chagrin, none of the official Belkin Switch 2 cases are compatible with the Charging Grip and provide a safe place to store the powerbank. However, it was reassuring to know that you don't have to deal with the weight conundrum at all times if you don't want to.

At least the experience of using the Charging Grip when you don't factor in the weight is pretty grand. The handles are very comfortable and felt natural in the palm of my hands. Their textured surface was also grippy enough that it never slipped even during the most intense moments of Rhythm Paradise Groove (onion shaving is no joke) and yet not too grippy that it roughhoused the surface of my hands.

I'm also a huge fan of the fact that you don't need to leave the small USB-C charging cable hanging if you do decide to have the powerbank attached. The underside of the charger includes a hidden section designed to hide the cable, and works just as intended.

Should you buy the Belkin Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2?

The Belkin Charging Grip for the Nintendo Switch 2 seems like a pretty basic idea: it's essentially a power bank and grip case combined into one. Yet despite its simplicity, the brand has yet again managed to provide a robust and great-looking solution to dealing with the handheld's measly battery life, though it's definitely far from perfect.

Anyone who loves the Switch 2 for its lightweight experience compared to the best handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED is not going to appreciate how heavy the case can become. And it feels like an oversight to design a Charging Grip which, when attached, is too big to store in any of the existing Belkin Switch 2 cases. If you have the Belkin Charging Case Pro, you have to take off the grips and power bank every time you want to store it away. And even then, the accessory pocket is not equipped to store those pieces.

I assume Belkin has plans to one day release a case that incorporates the best design elements of this Charging Grip and its Charging Case line, especially as review comments on the official Belkin website have consumers referencing the same issue. Belkin's Customer Service has stated at the time of this review that it has "taken note of it" in reply to user Ns2geek, so hopefully it's a sign of a new Grip Case mashup to come.

In the meantime, if you were hunting for a Switch 2 grip case and a way to combat the device's battery woes, the Belkin Charging Grip is an okay choice if you can cope with its uncomfortable weight and uncomfortable $99.99 / £69.99 MSRP. Those purely after a method of creating a Pro Controller-feeling experience in handheld mode are better off picking up the alternative model without the power bank available for $39.99 (Amazon) / £39.62 (Amazon) instead - though you'll still struggle to fit it in any existing Belkin Switch 2 case.

How I tested the Belkin Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2

I spent over two weeks with the Belkin Charging Grip, where it became my accessory of choice for the entirety of that testing time. With the Olive version attached to my handheld, I used it while playing a huge range of games, from Star Fox, Rhythm Paradise Groove, Mario Kart World, Pokemon Pokopia, and Donkey Kong Bananza.

By testing a wide range of titles, I got a feel for how the ergonomic handle attachments felt to play in handheld mode, while having ample opportunity to rely on the power bank to power my Switch 2. Additionally, I also took out the Belkin Charging Case Pro to see if the pieces of the Charging Grip were compatible and could be stored within the brand's own case. I'd like to think I would know. DK's been one of my favorite Nintendo characters since the early '90s when I played Donkey Kong Country on SNES (it's the first series I actively went out of my way to buy), so I've got some pretty strong feelings about what you should prioritize when it comes to the best Donkey Kong merch. As an example, I'll always point fans toward amiibo first and foremost. These highly detailed figures may be designed to work as Switch/Switch 2 accessories that provide in-game bonuses, but they're gorgeous statuettes in their own right (like my current favorite, the DK and Pauline design you can find at Best Buy). In other words, they're the perfect addition to any shelf even if you never use them with the consoles. Similarly, I adore this heavily themed baseball cap currently on the Nintendo Store. Besides being an eye-catching shade that's reminiscent of DK's jungle home, it features 3D bananas and Kong letter collectibles just like in the game. It's a fun touch that brings back memories, and that's what I think the best Donkey Kong merch should do.

The official Star Fox Mousepad felt like a no-brainer purchase.

I've loved barrel-rolling my way through the new game on the Switch 2, and wanted to try out the mouse controls on something other than my sofa cushion. Better yet, it wasn't even technically 'purchased' in the traditional sense like the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories often are, as I only had to spare 500 of my precious Platinum Points to make it mine.

And yet, I wish I had saved up my points for something else, as this is one cheap-feeling mousepad. I can already hear many of you all saying, "Well, it was free, what did you expect?" and that's fair to say. But I was at least expecting something that felt pleasant to "pilot my Joy-Con" across like Nintendo intended, and not what I got.

The Nintendo UK store advertises the mousepad being used alongside a typical PC setup, but I wouldn't recommend that either.

I'm currently using the ASUS TUF Gaming Hatsune Miku Edition Mini Wireless Mouse, which includes a 12,000-dpi optical sensor and glides effortlessly through any gaming mat I've thrown its way. Yet the "rough top" layer of the Star Fox version feels unpleasant and results in plenty of misclicks due to its plastic and slippery surface.

Instead of feeling like my little anime mouse was gliding across the desk like a little ballerina, I constantly felt it slipping out from beneath my grasp. This should have been an indication of things to come, but I decided to remain optimistic that a Star Fox mousepad designed for Star Fox couldn't be all that bad. How wrong I was.

The accessory is made up of a cheap-feeling plastic, like the mouse mats that you used to be able to buy throughout the late 1990's. You remember them, right? They'd often feature Homer Simpson's face and some philosophical quote of his, and were packaged as Father's Day gifts and stocking fillers.

This one feels worse than any of those. It's the opposite of dense and utilizes a paper-thin synthetic rubber underlayer rather than an anti-slip rubber base that you'd typically want in a gaming mat. Which, as you can imagine, does little to stop it from moving around unprompted.

If you thought fighting Team Star Wolf on Venom was tricky with the standard controls, using mouse controls on this cheap mat was something else entirely. The little rubber stops at the bottom of the Switch 2 Joy-Con straps at least helped keep the controller from running amok like my gaming mouse, but it was not a great-feeling experience.

In all fairness, fighting Star Wolf never is. But I had my hopes high that the mousemat would at least add an extra layer of fun to the fight that has haunted my nightmares since my childhood. Instead, it made it all the more headache-inducing, with the thinness of the mat feeling like I was scrolling my Joy-Con across a bare table, and I barely managed to take down Andrew, Leon, or Pigma, never mind Star Wolf.

It at least didn't move too much, which was a blessing. That was, unless I made the grave error of lightly brushing the side of my hand gently across Peppy's printed face, as then the entire thing would start slipping across my desk like it had a mind of its own.

It's a shame, as I really like the idea of the Nintendo Switch Online rewards being accessories that you can actually use alongside new Switch 2 games, rather than boring bits of stationery with Nintendo characters' faces on them. There's also so few new pieces of Star Fox merchandise out there, that this mousemat (and the plushies expected to drop later this year) are pretty much all we've got.

Taking that into account is why I don't judge anyone who reads this and still chooses to spend their hard-earned points on this Star Fox mousepad. When there's little merch out there to grab, securing a free item makes complete sense. However, I recommend keeping this as a display piece and sticking with traditional gaming mats by brands like Razer and SteelSeries, rather than piloting the Airwing across this cheap bit of Star Fox-branded tat.

Over the weekend, my brother-in-law caught a glimpse of my Switch 2 case, and his interest was piqued. That's not at all surprising, as my family knows I write about and review the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, and the general thought is that if I'm using something regularly, there must be something intriguing about it. In this case, he and the rest of my family were right to be interested, as I was using the Belkin Charging Case Pro.

It remains the best case I've ever tested, and one of those accessories that I love showing people as its built-in 10,000mAh powerbank always gets a "woah" reaction every time. My brother-in-law had a similar reaction and asked for a full low-down on Belkin's spread of Switch 2 cases to know which was best suited for his needs, and it gave me a thought - I should do a rundown for anyone else who needs it.

There are only three Belkin Switch 2 cases so far, so it won't take too long to go through the lot. Yet, if you were curious as to what separates each case, and whether they suit your budget and playing style, I've included a spread as to what makes each so special down below.

Belkin Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $29.99 (Amazon) / £17.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Carrying Case is the least feature-full of the trio, and yet it's still a robust, high-quality accessory. If you like the look of the Belkin cases but don't need any fancy charging tech, and especially don't have the budget to facilitate it, this is the best option for you as it's only priced at $29.99 and £17.99 in the US and UK. It's prone to plenty of discounts throughout the year too.

This case is available in all three Black, Sage, and Sand colorways as the rest of the line, and includes the same clamshell design with a polyester exterior and the subtle 'Belkin' branding on the front. On the interior, you can find space to store the Nintendo Switch 2, a slab of fabric in the middle to protect the handheld's display and provide storage for up to 12 physical games, and a fabric mesh pocket for smaller accessories.

What separated the case from others upon release was that it included a secret Apple AirTag pocket. You can use this pocket to slip in the GPS tracker, and any other branded one that fits, in order to keep better track of your pricey Ninty tech while traveling - a neat addition that other brands still don't take advantage of.

Belkin Charging Case for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $69.99 (Amazon) / £49.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Charging Case is where things get a little more interesting. On the outside, it looks practically identical to the Belkin Carrying Case, and even comes in the same range of colors. However, this case is far thicker and that's to make room for the 10,000mAh power bank that lies inside it.

On the bottom of the case, you can find a black power bank, which is designed to hook up to your handheld so you can keep it juiced up on the go. You can actually have the case fully zipped up, and the moulded interior provides ample space for its charging cable to feed into your console, so you can provide an up to 1.5x charge when you need it. The power bank in question is secured in place with a velcro strap, but you can remove it if you want to take it out and use it to charge up other compatible devices - I've used mine plenty to give my phone a boost.

When this case was first unveiled, it felt revolutionary, as the Switch 2's measly battery life is my bigger hindrance with the console. I always pop my handheld back in its case between gaming sessions regardless, yet now I can do that and feel at ease knowing it's getting powered up in the process. The only annoyance is that charging the power bank is a bit fiddly, as you need to physically remove it from the case.

Its $69.99 / £49.99 price might also be hard to stomach for many, as that's a lot to fork out for a case alone. It only gets worse from there, as the Charging Case Pro model costs even more. For that reason alone, I typically still recommend this version over my personal best Nintendo Switch 2 case pick, as this case still gives you access to charging on the go, just at a more digestible price point.

Belkin Charging Case Pro for the Nintendo Switch 2

Price: $99.99 (Amazon) / £69.99 (Amazon)

The Belkin Charging Case Pro immediately sets itself apart as it's the priciest case from Belkin's lineup with its $99.99 / £69.99 MSRP. Why is it such a markup from what we've already looked at?

Well, because it takes what was so neat about the Charging Case and makes it even better. Instead of just plopping a power bank attached by a strap into its bottom interior, Belkin has transformed it into a device that sits into the lower half of the case. Whenever you slip your Switch 2 inside, it will automatically start to charge, no messing around with cables required.

This case also features passthrough charging, which was a major draw for me personally. Remember how I mentioned that charging the previous case's power bank requires you to physically take it out? Well, that process is a lot more simplified, as Belkin has included a small cut-out window on the side of the case which allows you to feed through a USB-C cable straight into the charger. A genius inclusion that makes this Pro model all the more intuitive and easier to use.

However, you can actually remove the power bank as you see fit, which I do almost every night I go to bed. It can be removed and act as a bedside charging stand, which negates the need to buy one separately. So while you're paying $100 in the US for this case, it does at least save you from investing in a charging stand and a spare AC adapter, if I think about it.

Earlier this year, MSI announced a lineup of PC accessories based around the hit anime series Frieren Beyond Journey's End, and now the graphics card is finally up for grabs.

The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Frieren Edition card is a beastly GPU that comes packaged in a mimic-style box, which hopefully Frieren herself won't get stuck in. When she spots the $1,149.99 (Newegg) price tag, she might want to hide away, especially when you factor in that the launch model was $749 / £729.

The over 1K price tag is more than my physical anime collection, and I've been adding to it for decades. In fact, if you threw the combined cost of my Frieren figures, it'd likely still be more. However, as we're still dealing with the ramifications of the RAM Storage Crisis, which in turn has driven up the costs of graphics cards, it's sadly not surprising. I just wish I had the funds to invest in it and a rig fit for Frieren.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Freien Edition card is a lofty investment even as far as the best graphics cards go, but as a Frieren fan myself, I can see why anime fans might still want to get their hands on it. The perfectly on-brand mimic-style treasure chest packaging is one thing, but it's the adorable art of Frieren and Himmel the Hero on the metal backplate that has me wishing I had the funds to put together my dream anime gaming PC right now.

The pair can be spotted sitting next to one another, while their silhouettes can be spotted throughout the Tri Frozr three-fan design on the opposite side. A closer inspection on the MSI website reveals the inclusion of a particularly emotionally devastating quote: "I'm sure you still have a long life ahead of you, far longer than we can imagine." Why would you do this to me, MSI? Why?!

As gut-wrenching as the quote on the graphics card is, I simply cannot budget for a new GPU. If you're in the same boat, fortunately, MSI also released a matching set of accessories that are a lot more budget-friendly. They're out of stock right now, but you can backorder the set for $179.99 at Newegg, which includes a Frieren Beyond's Journey End FORGE TKL wireless keyboard, a Versa wireless gaming mouse, and an Agility mouse pad.

Out of all this MSI set has to offer, I'm personally eyeing up the gaming keyboard, as it includes the mage herself printed throughout the keycaps. Not to mention, it includes a 1.06-inch display that the MSI FORGE TKL product page suggests can display chibi versions of not just Frieren, but my personal favorite characters Fern and Stark too.

I have a Frieren Beyond Journey's End bust figure on its way to me right now from Japan, and I can't help but think MSI's collection could combine to create a perfect anime-themed gaming setup. If you're considering building one of your own, I recommend getting in there quickly before stock of the GPU sells out too, and while backorders for the MSI gaming gear exist at all.

Razer's new Espeon and Umbreon Collection is fresh on my mind as it dropped on July 6. It's a new line-up of PC gaming accessories decked out in imagery of the two iconic Eevee evolutions, and I assumed the love for the Gen 2 Pokemon would stop there. Still, a brand-new Umbreon and Espeon Switch 2 controller from Hori has been spotted.

Originally shared by the X (Twitter) account Pokémon Deals, Restock and Alerts, the new controller hasn't officially been announced yet on Hori's official social media channels. However, its listing is live at Amazon US, which showcases a new version of the Wireless HORIPAD Turbo gamepad draped in a dark purple colorway and gold star details. Sadly, you can't buy it quite yet, but the moment it goes live, I'll be sure to let you know, so you can complete your hybrid Razer and Hori Espeon and Umbreon gaming setup.

I believe I've stumbled on this new Pokemon version of the controller a little early. It's currently listed as "Temporarily out of stock" despite never being in stock at all. This is very likely just a temporary state while Hori prepares to get its announcement in order, which could hopefully include even more Switch 2 accessories featuring this stunning Espeon and Umbreon artwork.

Hori is known to release accessories in waves, so I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up seeing this design on a Switch 2 case, a game card case, and even a wired headset. If you take the Kirby and Waddle Dee Collection by the brand as an example, it launched its own Wireless HORIPAD Turbo controller, alongside a Puff Pouch and Vault Case in the US. I'd be surprised if these weren't also on the cards for Umbreon and Espeon.

Regardless of what else might come of this new Hori and Pokemon collaboration, I'm glad we're getting a wireless pad over the alternative. As much as I adore the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu controller, its cute design does little to distract from the fact that its wired-only connectivity (over the HORIPAD Turbo's 33 ft wireless compatibility) feels very limiting.

Of course, this wireless support typically comes at a higher cost. While there isn't one listed alongside the new controller quite yet, judging from past officially licensed Wireless HORIPAD Turbo releases, you'll likely be looking at $64.99 for this stunning pad. But for that price, you should also be getting stick-drift-dying TMR sticks, and 10 hours of playback, which isn't too shabby.

So far, this stunning new Umbreon and Espeon controller has not appeared at Amazon UK or other retailers. However, the moment it does, I'll sound the alarm as I feel it's my duty to ensure Nintendo players have the cutest accessories possible. In the meantime, Pokemon fans can pre-order the Ditto Wireless HORIPAD Turbo for £54.99 at Amazon instead. It's not Eevee-related, but it's at least a purple Pokemon pad.

Razer has dropped the third of its Pokemon collaborations, this time giving Eevee evolution fans something to get excited about with the new Espeon & Umbreon Collection.

Launching in partnership with The Pokemon Company and coincidentally a few months before the Pokemon 30th Anniversary, the Espeon and Umbreon line-up is made up of a stunning Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless gaming keyboard, Razer Cobra gaming mouse, Razer Gigantus V2 mouse mat, and a wired Razer Kraken V4 X gaming headset, all decked out with art of the two Gen two Pokemon. However, unlike Pokemon Gold and Silver, there's no special requirements to grab them besides logging onto the official Razer store and parting with your hard-earned cash.

Where to order the Razer Espeon & Umbreon Collection

Just like the Razer Gengar Collection, purple is the color of choice for the entire collection, which is actually a clever decision on Razer's part. Not just because Espeon is known for its pretty purple color palette, but grabbing any of these new PC gaming accessories would tie in nicely with the Gengar ones, should you already have them in your setup.

In fact, the Gengar Collection doesn't have a keyboard, which makes this new Espeon and Umbreon Edition Razer Ornata V3 Tenkeyless ($119.99 at Razer) even more intriguing. It's the same gaming keyboard that you can buy without the Pokemon branding, sporting low-profile keys and the brand's Mecha-Membrane switches, but the board is coated in this stunning dark purple colorway, which shines when the Razer Chroma-powered RGB lighting is set to a matching light purple-pink, as seen in the official marketing images.

The two Eevee evolutions can be spotted hiding around the directional keys and are hard to ignore as they sit dead center on the accompanying wrist rest. While the Pokémon theming is a bit more subtle than I personally prefer, the little star designs and the UV-painted keycaps should help this keyboard shine amongst your setup, as would the matching Razer Cobra gaming mouse.

At $59.99 it's one of the cheapest additions to this new collection, yet it's also one of the cutest. Espeon and Umbreon can be found on the left and right keys, and Razer has gone for a slightly different design this time around. Instead of just re-using the same depiction of the sitting Pokemon as the keyboard, Espeon is giving a cheeky wink as Umbreon stands guard. The palm rest of this Razer Optical Mouse with Gen 3 switches also plays host to a swarm of stars that surrounds an RGB Chroma-powered Razer logo, which is a nice touch.

I would have preferred to see a glowing Pokeball instead, but it makes sense that Razer would want to keep its branding intact. Especially as it mirrors that of the Gengar Edition Razer Cobra gaming mouse. At least the Razer branding is minimal on the matching Espeon and Umbreon Razer Gigantus V2 mouse mat ($29.99). The medium model remains the cheapest item in the set, and features a textured micro-weave cloth surface that showcases the two Pokemon as they appear on the gaming keyboard.

Last but not least, the Razer Espeon and Umbreon Collection is rounded off with a new version of the Razer Kraken V4 X headset. As the hardware team's best gaming headset connoisseur, this is the accessory that has most caught my eye, though I'm disappointed to see that Razer played it a little safe with this new Pokemon release.

While the Gengar Kraken Kitty V2 headset went all out by replicating the Pokemon's ears and hair tufts with a pair of cups that I'd easily incorporate into a cosplay if I still made costumes, this new Kraken V4 X headset has none of that. Don't get me wrong, it still looks great with its light and dark purple color palette, and the Espeon and Umbreon illustrations that are peeking from inside the earcushions, but I was hoping for a design that felt a bit more elaborate.

I was also hoping that Razer would take an existing wireless headset like the Razer Kraken Kitty V3 Pro and use it as the basis for its next Pokemon collection, as the Kraken V4 X is limited by its wired connectivity. However, at least it's a pair that's got the brand's TriForce 40 mm audio drivers in tow, so while you won't have Bluetooth or 2.4GHz to play around with, it should still sound pretty grand.

The entirety of this new Razer Espeon and Umbreon Collection is available now from the official Razer online store. However, if you aren't a fan of these old-school Eevee evolutions, you could always grab the Gengar Collection starting from $59.99 at Razer instead.

Donkey Kong is turning 45 this week. As an old-age gaming pensioner, I'm trying to comprehend that bananas news, but July 9, 2026 marks 45 years since our favorite tie-wielding ape first landed in arcades and changed the scope of gaming as we see it. Of course, he didn't have a tie back then and was more concerned with hurling barrels at Jumpman (aka Mario) than looking sharp, but he's come a long way.

There's been a hoard of DK-flavored goodies released in those 45 years, including the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, which feature Donkey Kong and friends. From a lenticular 'moving' Switch 2 case, plenty of amiibo, and Switch 2 Joy-Con covers, it's not too difficult to show off your love for the 45-year-old ape with your handheld, and I've gathered these a-peel-ing accessories down below.

With the Switch 2 still being pretty new, there aren't as many DK-themed Switch 2 goodies as I had hoped. With that in mind, I've thrown in some older amiibo and accessories that are compatible with the new handheld, so you've got plenty plenty of choices which are ripe for picking.

Donkey Kong Turtle Beach PlayTrek Switch 2 Travel Case

The Donkey Kong Switch 2 Case remains one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases available today as far as design goes. I reviewed the 'Mario Bricks' version earlier this year and was instantly swayed by its lenticular design, which is also featured on this model. Instead of a piece of hidden Super Mario art that reveals itself depending on your view angle, glancing at this Donkey Kong version makes the foliage behind DK and Diddy Kong's silhouettes appear to be moving.

The design is much more subtle on this version, and the case includes all the same amenities that I adored in the Mario version. You've got space for your Nintendo Switch 2 console, a small fabric mesh pocket for small accessories, and a dedicated space for storing up to 12 physical games, all for $29.99 (Amazon), and even less when there are sales inbound.

Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo

I love a good amiibo and have almost 200 of the Nintendo toys-to-life figures in my collection. Yet, the Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo remain one of my favorites from the entire line due to the sheer detail that's on display. For one, the $29.99 (Best Buy) collectible has one of the most unique bases out there, featuring a smashed-up terrain that feels entirely on brand for Donkey Kong Bananza.

Secondly, the amiibo is of a much higher quality than your run-of-the-mill figures. A closer inspection of little Pauline will reveal her tiny painted freckles, and even the denim texture of her jeans has been sculpted for this release. Talking of Pauline, tapping it on your right Switch 2 Joy-Con also unlocks one of her cutest outfits in the game (Pauline's Diva Dress) early, alongside destructible KONG letters which come in handy when you need to destroy a bunch of terrain at a pinch.

The PlayStation Disc Drive is one of the best PlayStation 5 accessories, as it allows anyone with a digital-only Slim or PS5 Pro console to still get access to physical games. You just need to remove the back console cover of the PS5 to hook it up, and you're able to play your discs as you see fit, even though you invested in a digital-only console. Magic.

However, with Sony's announcement that it's ending physical disc production for new games in 2028, that once handy accessory now feels pretty redundant. From January 2028, all new games will be available on the PlayStation Store or at retailers as "in digital formats only" and so new releases will soon be inaccessible to Disc Drive owners. Sure, new games released in 2028 will still be able to be purchased digitally, but that's still not the best consolation prize if you recently invested $79.99 / £69.99, assuming you'd have access to any upcoming games on the platform.

Before Sony's disheartening announcement, I was more than happy to recommend the official Sony Disc Drive to PS5 players. Its $79.99 (Best Buy) / £69.99 (PS Direct) price is a little higher than I would prefer for an external disc drive, but I was always a fan as it meant that physical games were accessible to more players. Including the discounts that can often come with them.

Physical games, especially where the PS5 is concerned, can be subject to alluring price markdowns, even right after launch. For example, I've been eyeing up Assassin's Creed Shadows, but its full £69.99 MSRP here in the UK was a little more than I was willing to spend at launch. As of typing, it's now £37.76 at Amazon for the disc edition of the game on the PS5, a price I'm glad I have access to, not just myself, but anyone with the official Disc Drive attached to their console.

The official PlayStation Store does have plenty of sales events of its own. If you have a PlayStation Plus membership, you can also be offered exclusive deals on certain titles. However, purely relying on a digital-only experience removes your ability to shop around, one of the reasons why I used to herald the official Disc Drive as a great option for digital PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro owners. While digital-only console owners were once locked to sticking with the PS Store, the Disc Drive opened up a new world of possibilities.

One of those possibilities is being able to borrow games from a friend. I know for a fact it has been a handy way for my friends to experience recent Triple-A titles while saving some cash. As a big physical game collector, I'm often the one they come to when they want to play new releases but are saving their cash. I've accumulated quite a collection, and it's one I'm always proud to loan to others.

Sharing new titles with those closest to me was always a nice social aspect to gaming I really enjoyed, especially as I'd eagerly await the day they'd hand it back and divulge all their favorite experiences.

The Disc Drives also allowed my friends (and myself) to pick up releases that didn't have physical copies here in the UK. Amongst my gaming shelf, I own both Slitterhead and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name physically, despite both games being digital-only releases. The region-free playback allowed me to import Japanese copies, which played fine (including their English language options) on both my disc-edition PS5 and the official Disc Drive on my friends' consoles

The lack of future physical PS5 games isn't just bad for Disc Drive owners, as it means the likelihood of losing access to second-hand games in stores and the ability to borrow games from a friend. But it also means you've essentially wasted your money on a device that will no longer help to provide access to brand-new upcoming games that are released in 2028.

If you have a huge existing physical PS5 game backlog to get through, and that will be able to satiate your needs for a while, then I'm happy for you. You've also got 547 days until new physical PS5 games are no more, and that's still over a year's worth of playtime at your fingertips.

I used to be comfortable recommending the official Sony Disc Drive, but Sony's recent announcement has changed my tune. Now, I'd be much more eager to recommend you go off the deep end and pick up a second-hand PS2 instead. If you do, I'm sure our retro gaming expert Phil Hayton will most definitely support you on those retro-Sony endeavours.

If you've visited the official Hori Europe store lately, you've likely seen the scary red "sold out" buttons across some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories for Kirby fans, but don't worry, as there's actually plenty of stock to go around.

After some online sleuthing, I discovered that the adorable line-up is available at Smyths Toys, starting from £26.99 (Smyths Toys), where you can grab almost the entire set of pink-puffball-inspired goodies. Which is great, as some of the items, like the retro-inspired transparent purple Kirby controller, are being listed at second-hand sites like eBay for upwards of £109, which makes me a little nauseous.

So you don't mistakenly hand over your hard-earned pennies to re-sellers, I've picked out the in-stock Hori Kirby and Waddle Dee accessories down below. I've also been sure to include US links, so don't think I forgot about you puffball fans across the pond.

While the majority of the officially licensed Kirby and Waddle Dee line-up is available at retailers like Smyths Toys and Amazon in the UK, the Plush Pouch isn't as easy to find as the rest.

It's at least currently on the Hori online store for £34.99 (Hori), however its product page on the Amazon store states it's "currently available". If you want to make it look like Kirby has inhaled your handheld alongside their usual tasty treats, you'll have to stick to the official Hori store for now.

In the US, it's a similar story. It's not available at Amazon, nor could I find it listed on the official US Hori store. Some Hori accessories take a while to appear at US and UK retailers, so it could just be a case that it's not ready to drop quite yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that availability will get better soon. In the meantime, there's at least plenty of stock of the Puff Pouch and Vault Case to go around.

Sorry for making you feel like an old-age gaming pensioner, but the Persona series is 30 years old. I won't let you linger on that depressing factoid for too long, as PC accessory brand HYTE has partnered up with Atlus to introduce a bunch of shiny Persona-themed goodies to celebrate the big 3-0.

Starting from $19.99 (HYTE), the collab consists of two Persona 30th Anniversary Desk Pads. Both include all the mainline series protags from Megami Ibunroku Persona's Boy With Earring to Persona 5's Joker. Even the mobile game Persona 5: The Phantom X protagonist Nagisa Kamisiro has been included and can be found on one of the desk pads, all of which are available to pre-order, alongside a set of keycaps and an Acrylic Diorama Stand if that's not enough Persona for your gaming desk needs.

Persona fans have been eating good lately, as Persona 4 Revival is coming on Februrary 18, 2027, and pre-orders introduced a fancy collector's edition which included a P4R Protagonist & Izanagi figure. That alone was enough to satiate my Persona fandom, so these HYTE accessories are just the cherry on top of an otherwise already delicious-looking cake.

As big a fan as I am, I don't have the biggest budget in the world so its the desk pads that have mostly caught my attention. Both start from $29.99 (HYTE) and include the full roster of mainline protags, including the FeMC from Persona 3 Portable, who was missing from the Persona 3 Reload remake. Her inclusion alone makes me a fan of these eye-catching mousemats, which are 900 x 400mm and made from a "Silky smooth" 28 SPI according to HYTE.

Their product pages state both desk pads are expected to ship some Q4 2026, however the email from HYTE said "Q3 2026", so I'm not exactly sure which one is correct. If you do pre-order either, don't get your hopes up if they're expected a little later. There's at least no confusion with the Q4 2025 ship date of the Persona 30th Anniversary Keycap Set, available to pre-order from, $109.99 (HYTE) today.

The stunning keycap set includes 113 dye-sublimated PBT plastic caps which should be compatible with the best gaming keyboards that include 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL, and full-sized layouts. But my favourite aspect is how subtle their design is. Instead of just printing Joker's face across the keys, they have a white marbling effect, with small details that pertain to each protag, from Joker's iconic mask to Yu Narukami's glasses.

If you're more into your display pieces (and I get it, as I have a whole Persona-themed display in my gaming room) then you'll be more impressed with the $19.99 (HYTE) Persona 30th Anniversary Acrylic Diorama Stand. It's not something you can use to play your favorite Persona titles on PC, but a centerpiece that includes all the series protaganists together. HYTE doesn't include the dimensions of this stand, but at just $19.99 I imagine it could small enough to incorporate inside your PC build somehow.

While most of these accessories don't launch until Q4, you can get a glimpse on them in person if you're planning to attend Anime Expo in Los Angeles from July 2 to 5, 2026. These upcoming Persona 30th Anniversary accessories will be on display at the iBUYPOWER booth, which can be found in the West Hall (Booth #2342).

Switch game cases are pretty unnecessary. If you have a clamshell case for your handheld, you likely already have some game storage at hand. Even then, it's probably not advisable to take a large chunk of your library with you on the go, as you never know what could happen to them.

As unnecessary an accessory as the elago Switch Game Case is, that didn't stop the $14.99 (Amazon) gadget from grabbing my attention. It's shaped like the classic Game Boy, so instantly I was swayed by the nostalgia factor. Yet it's the fact that storing your games in it allows its key art to appear as if you were playing the modern titles on this '90s device that drove me to add it to my online shopping basket.

By default, the elago Switch Game Case includes a cardboard insert that mimics the classic handheld's LCD. It's basically a bit of paper with the brand's logo printed on it to appear like the Nintendo text that scrolls down the screen when you turn on the real thing. It's a simple feature, but a detail that I nevertheless appreciate as someone who grew up on the DMG-01 device.

It's this simple insert that you're intended to replace with your own games. Swapping them in place will have their stickered art appear as though a cut-out window of the tiny, silicone Game Boy, which is exactly what I did. I took Pokopia Pokopia, Donkey Kong Bananza, and the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection on the original Switch and gently placed them through the little slots, and the resulting effect was ridiculously cute.

In the case of the Switch 2 cartridges, you do see some red peaking through, but it's not distracting enough to be a genuine issue. In the case of Pokopia, the game's cartridge art fits almost perfectly on the replicated screen (bar the cut-off Nintendo logo) and looks absolutely adorable. I also tested out Donkey Kong Bananza, which looked even better, as the framing of DK and Pauline is better aligned with the cut-out window of the case.

As cute as it looks, I'd be very hesitant to actually store my games this way, as elago intends this to be a keychain that dangles off your backpack, or even your jeans. Neither Pokemon Pokopia nor Donkey Kong Bananza were very cheap, and they wouldn't be cheap to replace if they were to fall off my jeans while out in public, so I instead keep this as a display piece for my desk. It's honestly what I'd recommend for anyone else privy to this neat Game Boy-inspired accessory.

Yet, it's still a unique take on Switch game cases, which can often just be boring, hard plastic accessories with some art stuck on top. Elago also went all out to make this tiny gadget full of detail, as the tiny d-pad, pink-red buttons, and the volume wheel are all 3-dimensional, though they naturally aren't actually functional.

If you're a fan of retro handhelds and want a funky way to store some of your new Switch 2 pickups, this is a neat piece to add to your desk, or add to your bag if you're brave enough. Despite its low cost, it's a surprisingly detailed and well-made accessory that has me hoping elago will give the Switch 2 more attention in the future.

Hori is never shaking off the 'cutest Switch 2 accessory brand' status that I personally bestowed on it this year, especially not after I've spotted its new lineup of products for the Nintendo Switch 2 inspired by some of Sanrio's most adorable mascots.

Announced over at the official Hori Japan website on June 26, the brand unveiled that it's launching a set of new Kuromi and Cinnamoroll Switch 2 cases and matching wired controllers in Japan, set to launch in August and September of 2026, according to machine-aided translation. To make things fair, both Kuromi and Cinnamoroll are receiving a case and controller each, but as someone whose desk is cluttered with the edgy little bunny girl, I know whose Switch 2 goodies I'm after.

The first of the new Hori Switch 2 accessories is the Kuromi Puffy Hybrid Pouch, a hard-shell officially licensed case that features Kuromi serving up some tasty treats. Every inch of this case is oozing with style, from the Kuromi skull zip details to the silk scrunchy carrying handle.

Even the interior of the case is giving off stylish vibes. Instead of sticking to a plain all-black design like the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu case, it features a stunning pink lining fabric that includes little illustrations of some of the same tasty treats as seen on the outside. The fabric is also found throughout the game-storage flap, which appears to be able to store up to 10 physical Switch and Switch 2 carts - ideal for carrying around the upcoming Hello Kitty Party Land Switch 2 game, which I cannot wait to play when it launches on October 29, later this year.

The case can be paired with the matching HoriPad TURBO Mini controller. It includes the same Kuromi dessert motif, but swaps the large form factor of a typical HoriPad Turbo gamepad for a smaller 13cm by 7cm design.

It's not only compact, but it features a transparent purple glittery chassis. That's right, it's not just see-through, but it sparkles too, a style of Switch 2 controller I didn't know I needed until just witnessing the official images as seen on the Hori website right now. There unfortunately doesn't appear to be any TMR sticks as found on other Hori controllers, but the pad does include a Turbo/Turbo Hold function, if you need it.

Talking of glittery Switch 2 controllers, Cinnamoroll's is pretty much identical. I say pretty much, as it swaps the purple chassis for a milky white transparent design which is more in keeping with the adorable puppy's white and baby blue color palette. The Cinnamoroll Switch 2 case also shares the same design ethos as the Kuromii case, but it instead features the puppy on the front holding a little glass of lemonade.

The lemon theme continues throughout the case, as there are little lemon slides and even lemon pie illustrations found on the exterior and interior design of the case. There's no scrunchy carrying handle available, which is a bit of a let-down, as I appreciate its frilly whimsy on the other. However, seeing Cinnamoroll's little doe-eyed face on the zip makes up for that missing detail.

According to the official Hori Japan online store, the Kuromi Switch 2 accessories are expected to launch on August 31, 2026. Meanwhile, the Cinnamoroll versions should drop on October 30, which is just a day after the release of the new Hello Kitty Party Land game I mentioned earlier.

Sadly, there has been no mention of these accessories across the Hori US or Hori UK social media pages, but that's not surprising. Whenever I spot these new adorable products, like the Hori Ditto Switch 2 Carry All Case, it normally takes a while for them to be announced elsewhere.

Now that Star Fox has come in for a landing on the Nintendo Switch 2, I assumed it'd be an excuse for Nintendo to go warp speed on slapping Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy's faces on a bunch of official accessories and tech - and I was sort of right.

Nintendo just dropped a new Star Fox mousepad, which the official Nintendo Store UK Twitter (X) page shared is intended for you to "Pilot your mouse (or Joy-Con 2 controller) over," and it's pretty neat as it makes use of the box art render of the team. However, despite my hopes, this new product is not indicative of an entire new Star Fox Switch 2 accessory line, as it's just a Nintendo Reward item that you can claim if you have 500 Platinum Points to spare.

Over the weekend, I was barrel-rolling around the Lylat System, and I enjoyed every moment - even the last Star Wolf fight, which seems to be far more difficult this time around. But I would have enjoyed my time with it far more had I been doing it with one of the best Switch 2 controllers or Switch 2 cases sporting the iconic red Star Fox logo on top.

Nintendo and the brands it bestows licenses to create accessories typically take advantage of new game releases as an excuse to launch devices with key art slapped all over them, and yet this Nintendo Reward Star Mousepad is all we've got.

Splatoon Raiders isn't even out yet, and it has a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons available to pre-order for $99 (Nintendo) / £74.99 (Nintendo), which are blue and yellow, referencing the Deep Cut trio found within the upcoming game. Even the Super Mario Galaxy Movie had tie-in accessories, with brands like Turtle Beach launching a Rosalina Rematch controller for $64.87 (Amazon) / £54.99 (Amazon), but Star Fox hasn't got the same attention.

I'm never going to scoff at what you could see as a 'free' Nintendo goodie. In the words of Falco himself, "I guess I should be thankful" that this mousemat exists at all. But I had hoped we'd see plenty of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories get a Star Fox coat of paint by now. I'd take anything, from an Arwing-shaped Switch 2 camera to just some thumbsticks shaped like the Star Fox logo.

Hopefully, by writing these words, I've at least willed it into the universe. Until then, I've at least made sure to use 500 of my Platinum Points to claim the mousemat and let Nintendo know, "more Star Fox accessories, please."

If you've just made the financial choice to lay down your hard-earned gold coins on the Nintendo Switch 2, chances are your accessories budget has already been stretched a little thin. That's why I've gathered the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories I can for $20 or less this week, ranging from cases, headsets, controllers, and Joy-Con grips down below.

Plenty of these have found their way into my own setup, even when I've had access to the pricier counterparts. The Energyflow Charging Dock from JSAUX is a really compact and handy way to store (and charge) a spare set of Joy-Con controllers, and I'm a little obsessed with the Hori 24 Game-Card Case as it fits perfectly into my backpack, and as a Pokemon fan, I'm more than obsessed with its adorable Eevee Cottage Core design.

The Charging Case Pro launched in January earlier this year for $99.99 (Amazon), almost as if Belkin knew I'd be glued to my Switch 2 this year.

Not only am I as obsessed Pokemon Pokopia as I was at launch, but Star Fox is on its way on June 25, and Splatoon Raiders is launching on July 23. Yet, I'm not worried about the drain that any of these games will have on my handheld, as between sessions, I can easily slip it into the Belkin accessory where it will recharge and be primed and ready to go again. It's even included in this week's early Prime Day Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals, which makes it easier to recommend to anyone who hates the handheld's pathetic battery life as much as I do.

The second I saw the trailer for the upcoming Switch 2 Star Fox, I knew I'd become just as obsessed with clearing every possible path to Andross as I did in the 64 game growing up, and that's bound to take its toll on my battery life.

I'd worry, but the integrated power bank of the Charging Case Pro will take care of it. The charger lies in the interior of the case and includes a USB-C port that easily slots into the bottom of the handheld once I slide it inside. It's such a seamless experience that my Switch 2 is pretty much always in this case between gaming sessions, and I've not really had to worry about the device's measly battery life ever since.

Unlike the older Belkin Charging Case, which was a pain to recharge, this updated model also includes a cut-out window that allows for pass-through charging. Beforehand, you'd have to take out your Switch 2 and the power bank in order to ensure the case was juiced up and ready to go. Now? You just have to slot your AC adapter into the USB-C port, and wait until the small LCD screen reads "100%" so you know it's ready. This version may be more expensive, but it's a far more intuitive experience than before.

If that's too much then try the Belkin Charging Case...

The 10000mAh power bank can also be removed and act as a charging stand for your bedside table, should you want one. However, despite that extra feature and its current early Prime Day saving, I know not everyone is going to feel comfortable laying down even its current $84.99 discounted price for a case alone - especially as that's more expensive than either Star Fox or Splatoon Raiders and most upcoming Switch 2 games.

In that case, it's a good thing that the older Belkin Charging Case is also part of this week's early Prime Day gaming deals today. Instead of its $69.99 MSRP, it's down to $54.99 at Amazon, and it includes the same extras from the handy accessories pocket to the physical game storage. The main difference is that the power bank is attached via a velcro strap, and isn't a makeshift charging stand. However, that means you can remove it and use the powerbank to charge your phone, should you ever need to - something the fancier version isn't equipped for.

Much like the way ROB 64 drops a handy dandy bomb in your path in Star Fox 64, Belkin launched its Charging Case Pro at the perfect moment.

Not to mention, Amazon dropped these savings at a prime (get it?) opportunity for those of you who have yet to experience these, the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases I've tested to date.

We're all going on a summer holiday! Well, I'm not. I have a summer of gaming at home in the works, but if you have plans for a trip abroad or have anything else booked that allows you to game on the go, I've gathered some travel-friendly gadgets that can help with that.

I don't want to assume that it's the Nintendo Switch 2 that's your summer console of choice. Yet, if it is, I can't emphasize enough how life-changing a USB-C fan like the Sokelinn-six one I've added below really is. They easily fit in the USB-C port at the top of the handheld, and while they can be a bit of a battery drain, they blast a lovely flow of cool air in your face, which helps combat the overbearing summer heat.

Talking of battery woes, a power bank is one of my other travel go-tos, whether it's for my Switch 2, Steam Deck, or just my smartphone. An option like the U-Green 25,000mAh version I've included down below has enough juice to power up a Switch 2, Steam Deck, or your phone, which is important to keep powered up if you've got all your travel details and itinerary on there. No matter your vacation gaming plans, I've gathered an array of accessories that will help make it a memorable (and equally nerdy) break.

Look at this little guy. Just look at him. Hori is known for being behind some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories by putting their official licenses with brands like Pokemon to good use, but I never thought they'd release a case that looks quite this adorable as this Ditto Compact Carry All.

The official Hori X (Twitter) account unveiled this new all-in-one storage bag on June 19, alongside a Ditto plush Switch 2 pouch, which is expected to release in Japan on July 31, 2026. There's been no official announcement on the Hori US or Hori Europe sides of social media. However, after some sleuthing, I've discovered that the product page for the carry-all is live for $39.99 at Best Buy, with a July 1 release date in the US. You can't add it to your online basket quite yet, as there's just a "coming soon" label, but I'd recommend bookmarking the page if you want possibly the cutest Switch 2 all-in-one case I've ever laid my Pokemon-loving eyes on.

I love an accessory that takes full advantage of its licensing, and Hori has done just that and then some. The brand could have easily just printed images of Ditto on the exterior and kept that lavender purple colorway and called it a day, but there are so many well-thought-out details covering this case.

For one, the zippers are in fact little Dittos, and more Dittos can be found in the interior lining fabric. In the past, Hori hasn't given much thought to ensuring the lining matches the theme, as it doesn't with the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu Switch 2 Vault case, but I'm happy to say that I can spot a series of adorable Dittos within the official Hori Japan store listing, throughout the inside of the product.

My favorite detail of the lot, besides the fact that the top of the case is just a straight-up replica of the Pokemon, is that the included carrying strap includes a reference to the "Number 132", Ditto's entry number in the Pokedex. It's a small and easily missed add-on, but it's one that I really appreciate as someone who's been obsessed with Ditto ever since the Ditto's Mysterious Mansion episode of the original anime series first aired on UK television in the 1990s.

I briefly mentioned earlier that his carry-all isn't the only new Ditto accessory Hori is cooking up. There's also a Ditto Plush Pouch for the Nintendo Switch 2 on its way, although I've only been able to find it on Amazon Japan and the official Hori Japan online store for now. It goes ham in its theming and is literally just a replica of Ditto as a bag that can also store your handheld, and some small accessories.

Its interior storage looks awfully similar to the Eevee Plush Pouch as part of the Eevee Cottage Core line, so if you're happy with the amount of space, then you'll know exactly what to expect. It's expected to launch in Japan on July 31, but I hope for Switch 2 setup's sake that it'll arrive in the US and UK sooner rather than later.

While we have to wait to get our hands on these adorable Ditto Switch 2 accessories, the Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals are incoming, which could see discounts on a range of equally adorable Pokemon Hori accessories. So you shouldn't have to wait long to give your Ninty setup a boost of the cute kind.

I understand why these cards are more pricier than their non-express counterparts (they provide faster data reading and writing speeds), but that doesn't make their prices any easier to digest. They also seem to be going the way of the best SSDs for gaming too, as I've noticed cards like PNY's 1TB microSD Express have gone from $199.99 to $299.99 in a matter of months, a $100 increase for the same amount of space.

It's been a year since the Nintendo Switch 2 came on the scene, and I had hoped we'd see far more savings on these speedy cards by now. Discounts do happen, but the kind of dramatic markdowns I had hoped for during the handheld's launch aren't as common as I had hoped. But hopefully, Amazon Prime Day could be different.

If you know me, you know I'm a tad obsessed with amiibo, yet I haven't yet added the three Street Fighter 6 figures to my ridiculously large plastic NFC toy collection. Why? Simply because Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly don't get the biggest savings over here in the UK.

In the US, it's an entirely different story. You have days like today where each figure is down to just $4.99 at Best Buy each, which marks not just a return to a record low price, but a ridiculously low price for some of the largest figures in the amiibo catalog.

Here in the UK, we're a bit more limited when it comes to buying our amiibo. While Amazon sometimes stocks the latest figures, it's more likely that they'll appear at the official Nintendo store, and that's always for their full price.

Even a quick scan of Nintendo UK now shows that Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly are £24.99 (Nintendo UK) each. Whereas in the US, you can regularly find them on sale, and then you have days like today, where you can pick up all three for less than the cost of one at full price.

No really. Each of these figures debuted alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 last June for $29.99 each, and saw a price hike, which saw them rise to $39.99 afterwards. Picking up all three NFC collectibles today would only cost you $14.97, which is not even half the price of one on a normal given day, and I highly recommend you do just that.

You will make me very jealous, but at least Amazon Prime Day is approaching, where I can hopefully find some amiibo price drops of my own. Though they likely won't be as Ryu-diculous as the ones found at Best Buy.

Hori has been behind some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories in the handheld's year-long lifespan where design is concerned, and this new Splatoon Raiders range has cemented that fact in my Ninty-loving noggin'.

Announced via Hori's official X (Twitter) page on June 3, 2026, a new influx of goodies is on its way to Japan fans, including a Wireless HoriPad Turbo, a gaming headset, a pair of earphones, a USB Hub stand, an all-in-one storage bag, and a shoulder bag all coated in orange and green splotches to tie into Splatoon's first outing on the Switch 2. As of typing, there are sadly no signs of US and UK availability quite yet. But if you don't mind being subject to the likelihood of customs fees, you can pre-order it starting from $26.07 (Amazon) from Amazon Japan, and I'm ink-ing towards doing just that.

As the resident gaming headset connoisseur of the hardware team, I was immediately drawn to the wired pair of cups as part of this set. It's available for $32.62 at Amazon Japan, and appears to be just a Splatoon Raiders re-skin of a wired headset that Hori already has in its repertoire, but as a Splatoon fan, I can't help but gawk over the design choices.

The entire pair has a plastic translcuent plastic chassis which gives it a retro-appeal, but I'm more obsessed with the fact that the inside of the earcups features orange and green splotches that match the rest of the range. Some pairs, like the Turtle Beach Airltie Fit, just leave the interior blank, but I love that the left and right icons are more easily identifiable via the very on-brand squid and octopus designs. Even the side of the earcups themselves are orange and green to correspond with the designs.

According to the official Hori website, the headset also includes 40mm-sized audio drivers, and on-board controls including a mic mute button and volume options. If you aren't a headset fan, Hori has also included a pair of in-ear phones available for $26.07 at Amazon Japan. These include a similar-looking translucent chassis, but go the extra mile to include orange and green fin details that remind me of Big Man's massive fins. Which I assume was the intention.

If you aren't in the market for a new Nintendo Switch headset, the range includes a $32.62 (Amazon Japan) Hori Splatoon Raiders Shoulder Pouch Bag, which can be attached to your back or held like any case with a carrying handle. The bag can store your Nintendo Switch 2 handheld, along with additional accessories like the AC adapter and up to 6 physical game carts.

Essentially, it's a Splatoon Raiders version of the Hori Gengar and Mimikyu Adventure Pack, and I'm all for it. The adventure pack has been a neat way to take my handheld to my friend's house, as its straps are easy to adjust to my liking. I've even used it as a handbag, and would honestly do the same with this version, as I adore the little shell and sea-life designs found on the front.

The shoulder bag is not big enough to fit the Switch 2 dock, but that's likely what the new $35.89 (Amazon Japan) Splatoon Raiders Storage Bag is for. It shares a similar design to that of the shoulder bag but in an all-in-one form factor, much like the Turtle Beach PlayTrek 2-in-1 case. It also features a patterned lining featuring Splatoon squid and octos, and it looks like it has plenty of space to store the $32.62 (Amazon Japan) Hori Splatoon Raiders USB Stand, also part of the new Hori range.

Of all the items, unfortunately, the Splatoon Raiders Wireless Hori Pad TURBO cannot be shipped to the US, according to its Amazon Japan product page. Which is a shame, as it's definitely one of the shining stars of this incoming set.

Its design isn't unique, as it has the same orange and green splotches of ink across its faceplate as the rest of the items I've shown today. However, I'm a huge fan of the fact that Hori made sure the d-pad and the underside of the right stick match the colors found across the controller. The starfish and seaweed designs are also draped across the pad, which ties it into the particularly nautical theme of Splatoon Raiders.

The official Amazon Japan listings for all of these items state that they're expected to launch on July 31, 2026, just days after the new Splatoon Raiders game drops on the Nintendo Switch 2. I can only hope that by then, Hori Europe and Hori USA decide to unleash these across the pond so I can splash my cash without any customs fees lurking beneath the waves.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is celebrating its first-ever anniversary, if you can believe it.

Since its debut on June 5, 2025, a whole year ago, I've been talking about, testing, and more importantly, reviewing a massive wave of Switch 2 accessories that my house has basically become a one-stop shrine to everything to do with Ninty's newest machine. But not every Switch 2 gadget that comes my way manages to wander into my own personal everyday setup.

When it comes to the best Switch 2 cases, I like to switch things up between Belkin's Charging Case Pro and the Turtle Beach Mario Bricks PlayTrek Travel Case. The latter is handy for when I want to pack light, while Belkin's premium alternative is perfect for long-haul trips when I want to stretch the battery as far as I can. Meanwhile, I like to make sure I have smaller accessories like the MEKO Touch Pens stashed inside those cases for when I want to do some customization in Tomodachi Life, or play around with Mario Maker 2.

Most recently, the Turtle Beach Rematch Rosalina controller has become a staple of my setup thanks to its fancy TMR sticks, easy pairing, and stunning RGB effects. Along with the Dbrand Joy-Lock Controller Holder, I haven't felt the need to invest in a Switch 2 Pro Controller quite yet. In case you want to know exactly what else is in my day-to-day setup one year on, I've gathered my current favorite Switch 2 accessories down below.

Belkin swiftly earned a spot on our best Nintendo Switch 2 accessory list with its handy charging cases, and now the accessories brand has another power-bank-powered gadget at the ready.

The newly announced Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2 features a removable magnetic 10K power bank that can be attached to the back. Basically, imagine a slip case that attaches to your Switch 2 that has a 30W charger in tow. It's available for $99.99 (Amazon) starting today, and even comes with a pair of Joy-Con grip handles, but I'd hope as much for a price like that.

The Belkin Charging Case (and its newer Charging Case Pro) has become one of my go-to gaming gadgets, so I was pretty ecstatic when I initially heard the brand was dabbling more into the world of Switch 2 accessories. One year into the handheld's lifespan, and I'm still disappointed by its horrendous battery life, so there's a bit of a relief knowing there's another Belkin product that can provide a solution, and in this case, an up to 1.5x recharge on the go.

The new Belkin Charging Grip also provides a digital battery status, much like its other releases, and doesn't limit the Switch 2's features. There's a cut-out section so the kickstand is fully usable, and you can still detach the Switch 2 Joy-Con. Ergonomic curves are attached to the flat Joy-Con, matching the color of the rest of the case, whether you opt for the Black, purple Liliac, or green Olive colorway.

The Charging Grip wasn't the only accessory unveiled by Belkin today, either, as the brand also has a Travel Bag up its sleeve. Available in the same range of colors so you can unify your Switch 2 accessories, the cross-body bag can store your handheld, Switch 2 Pro Controller, extra accessories, and up to 10 game cards.

The new Travel Bag also includes a secret compartment for smart trackers like an Apple AirTag, which is one of my favorite features of the brand's best Switch 2 cases. Naturally, Belkin also ensures that it's compatible with the new Charging Grip too, but doesn't explain if it's compatible with the brand's other charging cases.

The Belkin Charging Grip for the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Belkin Travel Bag for Nintendo Switch 2 are available now from the official Belkin online store. You can grab them for $99.99 / £69.99 and $49.99 / £29.99 respectively, or wait until you hear what I have to say after I've had plenty testing time.

Keys Factory is known for creating some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories that incorporate officially licensed Ninty games and characters. The brand uses original illustrations to create unique officially licensed cases, Joy-Con covers, and game cart cases that are so cute they're display worthy, but I'm not feeling its new Splatoon Raiders line.

Originally discovered by Nintendo Wire in a page that now directs to a 404 (someone may have revealed the products a bit too early), Keys Factory is launching a new set of accessories based on the upcoming Splatoon Raiders, which does exactly what I hate - just rehashes the same key art found on the Switch 2 box over and over. It's not the worst-looking range of licensed tech I've seen in my years covering hardware, but I expected more from one of my favorite accessory brands.

While the official page for the Keys Factory Splatoon Raiders accessories may be down, I did manage to find the range listed at Amazon Japan, starting from $7.69 (Amazon) with an August 31 release date. The set incorporates all the usual suspects, including a Switch 2 cover, a hardshell Switch 2 case, a game card case, a Switch 2 pouch, and a set of Switch 2 Joy-Con covers, all using the same Switch 2 Splatoon Raiders box art.

Well, it's not all bad. The Switch 2 Joy-Con covers are my favorite piece of the entire set, as they just opt for some ink splotches, squid graphics, and the logo so small and relegated to the bottom left corner of the left controller that it's easy to ignore. But the rest don't have the same imagination and thought put into the design like Keys Factory Animal Crossing New Horizons accessories, and past releases.

The Switch 2 cover? You guessed it, it just reuses the box art from the game. The front-facing side of the hardshell case? Again, that same box art as before. At least the underside of many of these accessories is a bit more refreshing with a design that's similar to that of the Joy-Cons, but as a Splatoon fan, I'm left feeling not very booyah.

At least Hori Japan's upcoming Splatoon Raiders products are a bit more appealing. I spotted them while browsing Amazon Japan, and they even include a Splatoon Raiders Horipad Turbo Wireless controller, which goes the extra mile to change the color of the left stick to match that of the green splotches of paint found throughout its translucent black plastic chassis.

Hori's products include a vastly different set of goodies, including a wired headset, wired gaming earbuds, and even an official Splatoon Raiders all-in-one Switch 2 case. There's no official word if these will see the light of day outside of Japan, which is a bit of a bummer. However, plenty of Hori accessories do eventually make their way to the US and UK shores, so I can only hope these are the ones that make their way here first.

Dbrand has been all about providing niche accessory alternatives when there are none, even before the era of the Nintendo Switch 2. Shortly after the PS5 came on the scene, the edgey accessory maker launched its own series of faceplates when Sony had little of its own to offer, and it was among the first to release a case for Ninty's newest machine.

The best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories aren't shy of Joy-Con grips like that of its new Joy-Lock controller holder, but it's still providing something so many lack: customizability. The holder isn't stationary and can be adjusted to offer up a range of different angles, which in turn provides a pro-controller-like comfort that other brands haven't managed to grasp.

Design

In essence, there isn't much to the look of the Joy-Lock controller holder, but that's the same with any grip. At a glance, it looks not too dissimilar to a Turkey wishbone I used to snap with family members on Christmas Day growing up. Unfortunately, snapping open this doesn't grant any wishes, unless I made a wish for a 'new favorite Switch 2 accessory' that I wasn't aware of.

The controller holder is made up of two prongs that are held together by a large ratchet mechanism. The entirety of the accessory is all black to better tie into the Switch 2 Joy-Con once you snap them in place, and there are small cut-out squares at the sides to allow the illumination of the controller syncing process.

If this were from any other brand, that'd be all she wrote for this grip, but this is a Dbrand accessory. And as such, there are a couple of bizarre design elements on closer inspection. The first obvious one is the design on the front of the ratchet, which reads, "4026 All Rights Denied 4E5332 Archive Robot" with a circular logo underneath. Popping this into Google's search engine just pulls up the X (Twitter) post about the controller holder, but I wouldn't be surprised, knowing the brand's edgy marketing, if it relates to an easter egg found on the official Dbrand website. The opposite side features an Illuminati-style triangular logo, which feels very on-brand for Dbrand.

Features

In that very same X (Twitter) post I mentioned above, Dbrand refers to the Joy-Lock controller holder as a "fidget toy" for your Switch 2, and I can entirely see why. Cracking the ratchet open is satisfying. There are approximately five notches of adjustment in total, which you can switch to by simply holding your hands on each side of the device and pulling outwards.

That's essentially all there is to the gadget, but Dbrand did think to include some neat elements, from matching strips of neon blue and neon red color on the interior of the magnetic edges so you know where to attach what Joy-Con, to four small rubberized squares intermittently laid out on the back to allow the holder to stay firmly in place when left upon a coffee table, just like in my photos throughout this review.

Talking of which, you've likely spotted the fact that there's a pile of dbrand boxes sitting next to the Joy-Lock holder, and that's simply because you can order this separately, or pile on some extras to complete the Pro Controller-like experience. The holder is compatible with dbrand's Joy-Lock grips, and once attached, the edges will stay flush with the grip as they do with the brand's Switch 2 Killswitch case. This also means the holder is compatible with alternatives, so you don't have to stick with Dbrand grips for a true Pro-like experience if you don't want to.

Performance

The first time I cracked open the Joy-Lock Controller Holder, I was a little scared. There are no instructions in the box, and the loud sound that emanates from the accessory when you adjust it for the first time made me worried I had somehow managed to break it.

But my experience with Dbrand tech, from my trusty Steam Deck Killswitch case, to the brand's PS5 Faceplates, reminded me that the company's tech is known for being plenty robust, so I kept at it. After I had cracked the ratchet swivel a few times, I was on the right track, as this helped loosen up the grip and made adjusting all the easier. You literally just have to pull, though I found the best practice to be to gently place my thumbs at the top edge to give it more support each time I used it.

Once you do this a few times, adjusting becomes second nature. After a few days of using it to try and finally three-star all the GPs in Mario Kart World, I got far more relaxed when snapping it in place. During that time, the second position became my go-to. That level of adjustment doesn't point out the Joy-Con too far, yet it still allows my wrists to sit in a way that mirrors the way I hold premium Switch 2 controllers like the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 that I currently have in my setup.

Until the Joy-Lock controller holder arrived at my door, I had been using JSAUX's Ergonomic Charging Grip. It's a high-quality alternative to the official grip packed in with the handheld, but ever since I've tried Dbrand's version, I almost feel reluctant to pick it up again, if it weren't for its charging capabilities. Being able to adjust the position of a grip on the fly was a feature I never knew I needed, but it makes a lot of sense for someone like me with joint issues.

Without oversharing too much, I have a condition called hypothyroidism, which can affect my joints and make them stiff and painful. I particularly feel this in my fingers and wrists, where there's an underlying pain at all times. Its intensity comes in waves, but the customizability of the grip angle has meant I can now prepare for that. The other night, there was a lightning sharp sensation in both my wrists, so I kept the controller in its default position in order to help keep my arms and joints more stationary. Once I felt a bit better and my painkillers were doing their job, I was able to easily switch back to that second position I grew to love, which allowed my wrists to sit away from my body and be more naturally positioned.

As I had loosened up the ratchet mechanism plenty, the actual adjusting doesn't add to my wrist and joint pain either, which was a nice discovery. As was the fact that I could push the controller holder down to its default position in order to make it easier to store in my JSAUX All-in-One Switch 2 Carrying Case and other large cases like it.

Should you buy the Dbrand Joy-Lock controller holder?

Dbrand heralds its Joy-Lock Controller Holder as "more comfortable than a Pro Controller for a fraction of the cost" and sadly, I wasn't able to make that direct comparison.

I have yet to pick up Nintendo's Switch 2 Pro Controller for the simple fact that it's $89.99 / £74.99 MSRP is a little out of my budget. But honestly, when this alternative is just $19.95, I feel less inclined to grab Nintendo's first-party pad than ever.

The Joy-Lock Controller Holder provides the same comfortable experience as other premium gamepads I've used for the Switch 2, and each level of adjustment takes that a step further. Not only does it make it easier to store away, but the customizability has been a better experience on my achy wrists and joints as I can adjust it depending on what feels more comfortable on any given day.

My only main hindrance with the accessory is the same I have with all Dbrand tech, in that it's only available directly through the Dbrand online store. Over the past year, some of the company's products have made their way to retailers like Best Buy, but this is not one of them, and so availability is a bit more limited. The US retailer does ship to the UK and elsewhere, but that does come with the possibility of extra customs fees, and I'm aware not everyone is comfortable ordering from the US these days.

However, if you want the best Switch 2 grip I've used to date (that doesn't include charging) and don't want to fork out the exuberant cost of Nintendo's official gamepad, the Dbrand Joy-Lock Controller holder is the way to go. It's even better if you pick up the Joy-Lock grips, and even that new combined cost of $39.95 is still going to cost less than the Ninty Pro pad.

How I tested the Dbrand Joy-Lock controller holder

To put the Dbrand Joy-Lock Controller Holder through its paces, I used the accessory for a little over two weeks where it became my one and only Switch 2 controller. During that time, I played everything from Mario Kart World, Pokemon Pokopia, Donkey Kong Bananza and Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, aswell as older titles via the Nintendo Switch Online service including N64 games Pokemon Snap and Lylat Wars. It's been almost a year since the Nintendo Switch 2 came into our lives, and so it finally feels safe to announce that I hate the official Joy-Con grip.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still very appreciative that one still comes bundled with the console again with this generation. But its awkwardly shaped curved grips and glossy texture relegated it to the depths of my miscellaneous accessory storage box very quickly, a place where the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories dare not tread. Fortunately, this wasn't a big loss. Alternatives like the JSAUX Ergonomic Switch 2 Charging Grip are not only more comfortable to hold but include charging tech that makes me far happier to spare $16.99 at Amazon when there's a discount afoot, than sticking with something that comes packaged with every console.

My biggest annoyance with the official Switch 2 Joy-Con grip is with its comfort, or lack thereof. The accessory doesn't sit at an angle, and my wrists always felt super rigid and awkward whenever I played the then-new Mario Kart World. JSAUX's version doesn't have this issue, as the grip requires the Switch 2 Joy-Con to sit angled by default.

As you can see from the images above and below, this allows the Joy-Con to point outward, which feels more attuned to premium Nintendo Switch 2 controllers like the newer Pro controller. This essentially eradicated any achy pains or sensations I had in my wrists with Nintendo's version, and it only gets better from there.

The official Switch 2 grip has irremovable handles. These are the most frustrating thing about them, as they are large, oval, and feel anything but ergonomic. Their glossy surface also makes sweaty gaming sessions, as you race to beat your friends in Mario Kart, a recipe for messy controllers. JSAUX, however, provides a pair of grips in the box that you can attach as you see fit. You not only have the option to attach them, but they also have a rigid surface area that makes them easier to grasp onto. A grip that's actually grippy? A wild concept, I know.

As the grips aren't attached by default, keeping track of them can be annoying. But it's a minor inconvenience when you stack up all that this JSAUX version can do, especially when you factor in charging too.

I'm well aware Nintendo has a Switch 2 Joy-Con Charging Grip, which you can pick up separately. But it's $39.99 (Nintendo), which is not a cheap chunk of change. It also has the irremovable grips, which I don't want to get anywhere near. JSAUX includes a USB-C port in the main section of the accessory and a charging cable so you can power up your controllers, all for that same $21.99 price (or $16.99 as seen in today's deal). It's the cherry on top of an otherwise amazing Switch-themed cake, as this grip is a comfortable treat to use with or without its charging powers.

If you hate the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con grip as much as I do, this JSAUX version is the best alternative I've tested in the year since the handheld's release. I'm currently testing the Dbrand Switch 2 Joy-Con holder, which is only $19.99 (Dbrand) and offers up a wide variety of angles instead, but you'll have to wait until my review to see how it matches up. As a heads up, it doesn't include charging, which makes this JSAUX Charging Grip still one of the best additions to your Ninty setup.

I whack out my Nintendo Switch 2 come rain or shine, but the incoming heat wave that's rumored to fall this Memorial Day has got me more worried than usual.

Last year, I resorted to picking up a USB-C-powered fan for £4.99 (Amazon) / $6.49 (Amazon) to prevent my face melting while gaming outside, and the little Switch 2 accessory ended up being my saviour of the summer. I'm pale and Scottish, and so I still had to be lathered up in factor 50 sun-screen. But thanks to the little cheap, compact add-on, I didn't waste away, and won't be again as I make sure it's plopped in the top port of my Ninty machine this May 25.

Whenever I see any impression of a blue sky (which can be a bit of an unfortunate rarity here in Scotland), I instinctively just want to crack out an RPG and pretend I've been whisked away to some sunny, fantastical fictional world. Right now, it's The Adventures of Elliot demo that I have my heart set on digging out today (Memorial Day), and I'm prepared to fight back against the heat with my USB-C fan in tow.

These little accessories are really neat, as they don't require any additional power and can be fueled entirely by the USB-C port sitting at the top (or bottom) of your handheld. Before you ask, I have tried neck fans while gaming outside, but these can very easily get caught in your hair. While trying to sit back in my mum's garden and chill with my handheld, I had some mishaps last year that left me with a couple of bald spots or two, and I've not been able to use one ever since.

The USB-C fan, when plugged into the Switch 2, sits far enough away from my face that hair catching isn't really an issue. Sure, it's not as powerful as neck fans I've tried, but these tiny things can pack some surprising cooling power. Last July, I used mine practically every day, and I'm feeling relaxed just recalling the memory of the chilled air circulating my face as I mastered the then-new courses from Mario Kart World. Big industrial fans and Air Con is always going to be better, but these little fans are still impressive, especially given how cheap they are.

Years previous, I'd take my older Switch OLED outside only to be greeted by the uncomfortable sight of sweat dribbling off my face in the reflection of the black-lit Switch 2 display. It wasn't nice, but the cooling air of this little fan makes that unsightly situation a thing of the past.

There is one issue that I do need to let you know about - battery life. The Switch 2 already had a notoriously meh battery, and anything feeding off the handheld is going to drain that even further. If you can somehow ensure the bottom of your Switch is attached to a charger, this will help prolong the lovely cooling sensation.

As it's originally intended for smartphones, you can also plug it into the USB-C port of your cell once your Switch 2 battery calls it quits. And in fact, I recommend this as you shouldn't really be playing your pricey Ninty tech out in the hot sun for too long anyway.

As you're likely seeing this on Memorial Day, ordering this accessory now will likely mean it won't arrive until later. Yet I recommend you ensure you have one to help cope with the months of overbearing summer sun ahead. And while you're at it, maybe stock up on a couple more as your friends might help 'borrowing' your USB-C fan if they're anything like mine.

RDS Industries is a name that I've long since associated with some of the best Nintendo Switch cases over the years, but the brand's Switch 2 offering has been a bit lackluster.

Despite having the official branding in tow, the actual designs available so far were plain, uninspired, and devoid of the iconic Legend of Zelda or Super Mario artwork I've come to expect. Today, that all changes, as I stumbled across a slew of new products from the brand starting from $24.99 at Amazon, which are expected to launch in June, 2026. If you've been waiting for a case to show off your love of Princess Peach, or Legend of Zelda, or the Super Mario series as a whole, your patience appears as though it's about to be rewarded.

There are four new cases in total that I've discovered while perusing Amazon, but the Princess Peach Game Traveler Licensed Deluxe Travel Case due to launch on June 19, 2026, is undoubtedly my favorite of the lot. Its design isn't revolutionary, as RDS Industries has one just like it, but without the Princess Peach aesthetic. However, as a fan of everything cute and cozy, it's hard not to fawn over its eye-catching and pretty-in-pink allure.

While other brands with the official Nintendo accessory licence, like Hori, sometimes opt for black colored interiors, the inside of this case is just as bright as the outside, and it even includes a free cleaning cloth with some Peach iconography as a neat little extra. The case itself is also decked out with the ability to store up to 12 physical games, and the brand has thrown in two tiny cases so you can store the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards if you have any.

Sadly, the interior of the upcoming Legend of Zelda, releasing on June 9, isn't identical. RDS Industries has just opted for a plain all-black design for the game and handheld storage, but the exterior makes up for it. The outside of the case sports some forest-green coloring, with a lovely metal Hylian shield crest slap dab in the center. There's even a little Triforce accessory attached to the zipper, which adds to the overall regal look.

If princesses aren't for you, there are two Super Mario designs you can pick up on June 9 instead. The first is yet another Game Traveler case, but it features art of the main roster of Super Mario characters, including Donkey Kong's newer model, and swaps the Triforce zipper for a more appropriately themed Question Block design instead. Or, you can opt for the Super Mario Crossbody Bag, which features a more understated grey pattern displaying a multitude of power-ups, and comes with a front pocket for additional accessory storage.

When perusing social media for GamesRadar+ reasons, I stumbled upon a post that sent shivers down my spine - a photo of a PS5 covered in hand-drawn scribbles.

The post by X (Twitter) user @lexi_trades1 appeared like Diana from Pragmata has got her cute little hands on the Sony console, as the little doodles, which include the PlayStation icons and what I imagine to be depictions of the little artist in residence's family, are what you'd expect to find if a kid has got their hands on your pricey Sony tech. They're cute, but the very sight of the customized console made me thankful that PS5 console covers not only exist, but there's a far better range of the PS5 accessories than there used to be.

Back in the day, had I witnessed my PS2 or PS3 being covered in scribbles, I'd have been pretty mortified. However, the existence of PS5 console covers makes the issue pretty minimal, so long as you have the money to spare on a replacement. For those unaware, the white default covers of the launch PS5, PS5 Slim, and the PS5 Pro can be easily removed and swapped as you see fit, which is a feature I feel has been pretty overlooked in this generation.

Should your PS5 receive any damage or end up at the end of your kid's felt-tip pens, you can replace the covers rather than the entire system. At a time when the PS5 is more expensive than ever, it's a pretty neat inclusion, especially as there's plenty of first and third-party options out there to choose from.

For a while now, Sony has had a series of brightly colored covers available starting from $59 at PS Direct, which include a snazzy Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue designs. They perfectly match the colors of pre-existing PS5 DualSense controllers, which is a nice touch on Sony's part and handy if you want your entire setup to feel more unified. In January earlier this year, the PS5 Hyperpop collection dropped with an even bigger selection, and includes a neon Remix Green, Techno Red, and Rhythm Blue available for $74 (PS Direct) each.

If you don't want to fork out that much, there are many more third-party options where they came from. Amazon is bursting at the seams with cover replacements, including ones that match that of Sony's own designs but include more ventilation with the inclusion of cut-out sections where the fans would be. These can all differ in quality depending on the brand, so you do have to be careful what and where you get them from. But they can be a great way to change up the PS5's design without spending a fortune.

My launch model PS5 is currently sporting a third-party pair of covers from Dbrand. Its versions aren't cheap as a pair of PS5 Slim covers can set you back as high as $94.85, but the brand is known to provide discounts that can drop as much as 50% off its range of covers. While the Spider-Man-inspired set I have my disposable is no longer available, the brand has a range of designs, and you can add middle skin decals and light strips to your order to make your console truly stand out.

If your PS5 has met an unfortunate fate at the hands of a pen or crayon, there's one thing you need to know before adding any PS5 console covers to your online basket - PS5 Slim owners are going to have more variety on offer. With the PS5 approaching its sixth anniversary later this year, finding covers for the chonky launch model is a much more difficult task. So if you're rocking the OG PS5 like me, I recommend sticking to third-party brands for the best options. Or, buy a blank white pair and go at it with your own pens and paints, I'm not going to stop you.

I'm sorry to say that the epidemic 'Baby Yoda' fever is back now that the movie is Force-jumping onto theater screens, and there's a lot of Mandalorian and Grogu merch floating around as a result. However, not all of it is created equal.

To help you sort the beskar from rubbish, I'm doing my best bounty hunter impression and bringing in the best Mandalorian and Grogu merch. I've trawled through almost all the collectibles out there, so am bringing you recommendations based on a mix of personal experience, user reviews, best-sellers, and the coolest-looking gear. As an example, I'd always suggest looking at Black Series action figures; they're always phenomenally detailed and surprisingly affordable, which puts them high on our list of the best toys. Hideo Kojima is one of the most major figures in the gaming biz - I mean, after all, his genius mind (and past teams at both Konami and Kojima Productions) did bring us the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding, to name but a few, which makes him worth putting on a pedestal.

Being behind so many major gaming franchises means that there's plenty of merch out there with his name on it, and quite literally too. If you're a die-hard Kojima fan and want to show off your fandom for the man who's brought you countless hours of entertainment (and countless head scratches), then you can pick up everything from Kojima Productions shirts to an official Metal Gear solid mouse mats, and even cute chibi figures of Sam and Higgs from Death Stranding 2 that can sit on your monitor.

While Kojima doesn't have his hand in Konami releases these days, I've still gathered a fair share of merchandise spanning his projects past and present, so there's a little something for every type of Kojima fan. I even found an official anime model of the Kojima Productions lumens mascot by Kotobukiya, because of course that exists.

Nintendo Japan has confirmed that the upcoming Switch 2 Star Fox is compatible with amiibo. According to the official Japanese Star Fox website, tapping any of the existing Fox, Falco, and Wolf NFC accessories on the Switch 2 Joy-Con will allow players to unlock a series of exclusive emblems and banners for multiplayer.

Originally discovered by Nintendo Life, these cosmetic exclusives will be viewable by friends or strangers that you choose to battle online. You will need the trio of amiibo to unlock these in-game goodies, but fortunately, unlike plenty of other older figures, they aren't that difficult to find in stock. If you have yet to pick up Fox McCloud, Falco, and Wolf, I've gathered them down below so you can add them to your collection before Switch 2 Star Fox comes in for a landing on June 25.

The simplest way to collect all three is via GameStop, which is a pretty good resource for older amiibo releases. The US retailer currently has both Fox and Falco available for $14.99 (GameStop) and $12.99 (GameStop), respectively. Wolf is another story, as he tends to be a bit trickier to get hold of.

That feels entirely fitting for the guy, given how annoying the Venom Team Wolf fight is in the original Star Fox 64 game (I still have nightmares about it). If you don't mind paying for a minor inflated price, you can grab him for $24.99 at GameStop, allowing you to complete the set for $52.97 all-in. These amiibo are available at other US retailers like Amazon, but availability differs per figure, and all are listed far above their original MSRP. Falco is out of action entirely, so GameStop is still your best resource.

UK Star Fox fans have an easier option. All three amiibo are back in stock at the official Nintendo online store. As of typing, you can pick up Fox, Falco, and Wolf for £12.99 (Nintendo) each, which is most definitely going to be my plan of action. I only have Falco in my possession, and I want to ensure I can collect all three before any resellers get up to any big ideas.

As a little heads up before you follow suit, these amiibo are not depictions of the characters in the upcoming Switch 2 game. Instead, they're based on their appearance in Super Smash Bros for WiiU, as they originally launched in 2014. They're still highly detailed toys, but if you were hoping to see the new character models in toy form, you'll have to wait for the new Star Fox plushies to be released instead.

Nintendo has gone ham like Pigma Dengar when it comes to launching new amiibo alongside games like Resident Evil Requiem and Splatoon Raiders as of late, so here's hoping we will get more Star Fox amiibo in the future. It'd at least be nice to see Peppy and Slippy get the NFC-toy treatment to complete the team.

Indie accessories brand Krasivoe has followed up their PlayStation Switch 2 dock cover with something more attuned for early 00s Nintendo fans, the Cube Dock. It's exactly what you think it is, judging from the name - a dock cover that transforms the Nintendo Switch 2 into the glorious purple console that is the GameCube.

Starting from £89 at Etsy, this isn't a replacement dock, but a cover that allows you to slide in your existing accessory to give it a more nostalgic look. According to the official Instagram videos, you simply pop your Switch 2 dock into the back, and that's enough to make your setup look like it stepped straight out of my teenage bedroom. If the classic purple isn't nostalgic enough, you can select between black and silver options instead, or add on some game storage, but that will drive up the price.

By default, this lovely indie creation costs £89, while adding the game storage tray brings the price up to £109 (£114 if you include postage in the mix). That's a lot to invest in one Switch 2 accessory alone, especially at a time when the price of everything, the Nintendo Switch 2 included, is on the up and up. It's also a 3D-printed add-on, so it's a pricey investment that comes with the drawbacks of print lines that can be a bit unsightly to the human eye. However, at least your cash here is going towards funding a storefront "founded by two gamers passionate about portable gaming" rather than some big-name corporation.

Not to mention, there's more here than what appears to be a simple 3D-printed cover for your existing dock. Adding that tray I mentioned above means you can pop over the top of Cubedock just like the disc-tray of the original console, and store up to 18 physical Switch and Switch 2 games.

My favorite design element of the entire accessory however, is hands down the space at the front, which can be paired with a GameCube controller adapter. You remember those, right? The adapters allow you to hook up original GameCube controllers to a Nintendo Switch if you couldn't imagine playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate with anything else.

Sadly, the Cube Dock doesn't come with one included, which Krasivoe is very clear to point out in the product description. Yet, if you already have one lying around, this could be all the more of a motivator to grab this third-party accessory. Alternatively, you pick up the readily available Mayflash GameCube Controller Adapter for £17.99 (Amazon) / $18.99 (Amazon) if you skipped out on one during the original Switch and WiiU console era.

As this dock costs a pretty penny, I'd be more inclined to pick up my official Switch 2 wireless GameCube controller instead. If you want to keep costs low too, you could wait for the release of the Retro Fighters Battle Dock, which has controller ports of its own without the need for an adapter. There's currently a waitlist to grab the $39.99 (Retro Fighters) accessory, which is far cheaper than what Krasivoe has cooked up. Yet, the Cube Dock will give you more of that boxy-cube look amongst your setup, if you value nostalgia above all else.

There's a never-ending supply of plain all-black and gray cases out there, and if that's your jam, that's fine. To this day, the best Nintendo Switch 2 I've reviewed is Belkin's Charging Case Pro, which comes in a plain charcoal gray color by default, and looks as unimaginative as they come. Sometimes good things just come in dull packages.

I wouldn't knock you for picking it up as it's a fabulous piece of kit, but I'm a strong advocate that Switch 2 cases are even better when they're just as colorful and vivid as the Nintendo games they're based on. Fortunately, I've spent plenty of time with extraordinarily cute and colorful Switch 2 cases, ranging from travel-friendly accessories featuring adorable Pokemon art by Hori to image-changing lenticular versions perfectly-suited for Donkey Kong and Super Mario series fans alike by Turtle Beach.

As we're approaching the handheld's first anniversary, the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories have had plenty of time to become abundant with eye-catching cases, and I've gathered my favorite that I've tested and reviewed down below.

I was raised on Toonami and the original Akira English dub, and so the best gaming PC rig I can envision in my mind is always anime-themed. But no matter what my imagination can conjure, nothing comes quite as close as the official Starforge Systems anime collaborations, like this Solo Leveling PC.

The creator-owned brand teamed up with the Solo Leveling anime series back in October 2025 to release a PC bundle starting from $2,499.99 (Starforge Systems), and it's a glorious sight to behold, especially amongst those I regularly spot while perusing anime-inspired builds. Like most Starforge System builds, it's available as a desktop PC bundle alongside a range of matching accessories, which include a desk mat, some wall art, and a platelight for your actual rig to make the inside just as thematic. Everything to transform your setup into a Sung Jin-woo shrine is here, but the PC case is easily the star of the show.

The Solo Leveling PC case doesn't just include the anime series logo and call it a day. Instead, you can find the logo printed down the front of the tower, but the rest of the chassis includes a wrap-around art print where even the vents are decked out in dedication to the Crunchyroll series.

Protag Sung Jin-woo is printed along the glass, where you can peek at your rig from behind him. You've also got the knight Igris, looking swanky as ever on the front, while the formidable Beru the Ant King is leering on the side, looking even more creepy than he did in Solo Leveling season two. According to Starforge Systems, all the art is also scratch and heat-resistant, so these depictions that look like they've swung straight from the anime series via a Gate should stand up against the test of time.

If you just want the PC case and have somehow managed to accumulate parts in a post RAM Storage Crisis world for a new build, it's compatible with all 50 series graphics cards. You can grab it for $299.99 (Starforge Systems) alongside a Sung Jin-woo-themed 900x400 mm Desk Mat, some acrylic wall art, and a Beru Platelight for some more villain representation.

All of those accessories are also available as a Solo Leveling PC bundle, where you can select between four different configurations, but that's going to cost you. Maybe not enough that you'll have to resort to fighting scary demons in alternate-dimensional Gates, but still plenty.

While I've been drooling over Starforge Systems' pre-built gaming PCs for a while now (their latest Apothecary Diaries PC bundle is immaculate), I've never invested in any of their rigs. As a heads up, the PC building company was founded alongside "a group of content creators" as the official site nicely puts it, in 2022, and the creators involved are what made me prefer to look at the collaborations from afar.

If you're also a bit weary of where your cash goes, especially as gaming PCs as fancy as these don't come cheap, I also recommend checking out the HYTE official collabs. The brand has teamed up with the likes of Atlus to produce stunning officially licensed cases and accessories inspired by the Persona game series, and even Gundam Wing, if you were also raised on the likes of Toonami and classic 90s anime.

Hori has announced that the Kirby and Waddle Dee range of Nintendo Switch 2 accessories is finally launching outside of Japan.

The accessories brand, which is widely recognized as being behind some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories where cuteness and officially licensed designs are concerned, unveiled that the range, which includes three adorable cases and a matching Wireless Horipad Turbo Switch 2 controller, will be available from May 30, 2026, at local retailers and "selectively" on Amazon, and naturally, the official Hori Europe online store.

I first caught a glimpse of the Kirby and Waddle Dee Switch 2 range late last year via the official Hori Japan Twitter (X) page, where I was instantly drawn to the image of Kirby's ballooned mouth as a Switch 2 case. Its gloriousness was hard to ignore, so it's ecstatic to think that the Kirby Plush Pouch, which is now set to be £39.99 (Hori) at launch, is making its way over here.

It's one of the most on-brand licensed accessories I've seen for the handheld. It features Kirby's face just as he's swallowed up an enemy, or in this case, your handheld, down to his puffed-up cheeks and little pink-red feet. While you don't slot the Switch 2 into his mouth (that would be a little too on brand), the accessory can fit your Switch 2, and even the older Switch OLED and launch model, and there's a section to store spare accessories and up to 6 physical games, too.

If the Plush Pouch is a little too much for your tastes, there's also the £24.99 Puff Pouch (Hori) and £29.99 Vault Case (Hori) to consider instead. The Puff Pouch can also fit the entire range of Switch handhelds (minus the Switch Lite) and looks just as soft to the touch. Its design is a bit more understated and features a purple star design, with a transparent plastic window that shows Kirby and Waddle Dee waving from inside.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Kirby and Waddle Dee Vault Case. The Hori Gengar and Mimikyu Vault Case that I reviewed previously was a really robust accessory and still remains one of the single pieces in my Switch 2 setup that friends look at starry-eyed. Cuteness is subjective, but I can only imagine friends would be even more on board with the Kirby version, which is draped in a lovely deep purple color and sports Kirby and Waddle Dee on the front, along with a series of desserts and treats. The inside also includes an equally adorable polka-dot print, which is a nice touch.

Of course, no Hori accessory line is complete without a controller. The Gengar and Mimikyu set had one, and the Eevee Cottage Core set had one, so it shouldn't be surprising to find out there's a Kirby and Waddle Dee controller incoming. The £64.99 (Hori) controller is a re-skin of the brand's Wireless Horipad Turbo, and features TMR sticks, up to 10 hours of battery life, and programmable back buttons. It's not the most feature-full pad, but its translucent purple face plate and the Kirby and Waddle Dee art on the grips are super striking. The sticks are even colored pink and orange to match the two characters, which majorly ups its cute factor.

If these adorable upcoming Kirby accessories have you considering grabbing a Switch 2, do be aware that a price increase for the handheld is incoming. At the beginning of September, the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $500 in the US and €500 (an increase from €470) in Europe. You have a while to go until the price hike, but I wanted to let you know in case you were organizing plans to save for the handheld and these adorable upcoming Kirby goodies.

There's no mention if these accessories will be available in the US too, but I can only keep my fingers crossed for all you US Kirby fans. While I don't like to get people's hopes up, I didn't think we'd see this exist outside of Japan, so anything is possible.

During my daily hunt for deals on the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, I stumbled upon the best sight a collector and Legend of Zelda fan can behold, a discounted amiibo.

The stunning collectible that sees Zelda and her Lofting as seen in Skyward Sword HD is normally $39.99 at full price, which is a lot to pay when so many other Legend of Zelda amiibo are typically found for $19.99 instead. However, the saving I found sees the toys-to-life figure as low as $21.70 (Woot), which marks the lowest I've spotted for it so far. There's only 12 days left to pick up Zelda and her Loftwing friend, so if your amiibo collection is missing a spot (or you want to enable fast and easy travel in Skyward Sword HD) then you should grab this amiibo deal before it flies away for good.

There is a reason behind its usual $39.99 cost. As someone who owns this and almost the entirety of the Legend of Zelda amiibo (I'm missing two, and yes, it causes me great pain), it's one of the biggest of the lot. Not Legend of Zelda Guardian amiibo big, but hefty enough that its price feels more justified. Remember, this figure doesn't just represent Zelda, but has an entire recreation of her blue Loftwing too.

If you're a big Skyward Sword fan, the value is definitely there, as it's not just big but also pretty detailed. Unlike older Zelda amiibo where the sculpts are questionable at best, you can make out every tiny feature of the Princess's outfit, from the ties in her hair to the markings on her shimmery gold belt, which her Loftwing also sports.

On my one, not a lick of paint is out of place, and it's really handy to have while replaying Skyward Sword HD, too. Tapping the amiibo on the right Joy-Con grants you the ability to create a sort of checkpoint in the sky, which you can return to at any time. It's pretty handy, though it will mean having to remove the amiibo from your display shelf each and every time you want to take advantage of the feature.

If that all sounds good to you, or you just want another piece of Legend of Zelda merch for your shelf, I recommend taking Amazon's Woot up on this deal while it's still around. Its savings can disappear when stock is gone, which would be well before its stated 12-day sales timespan. Alternatively, it is surprisingly in stock for $28.45 at Amazon if you'd rather flock away to Amazon's usual online store instead.

The new Nintendo Switch 2 Star Fox reveal definitely caught me off guard. During my first watch, I couldn't look away from the hyper-realistic and slimy Slippy, but it was the new Game Chat AR Filters that piqued my interest the most.

If you have one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cameras, you can select from a range of filters and transform yourself into a member of the Starfox team. If you are grabbing one ahead of the June 25 launch date, I beg that you barrel roll yourself away from the Hori Piranha Plant Camera as far as you possibly can.

I can get why picking up the Hori Piranha Plant Switch 2 camera would be enticing. Almost a year into the handheld's lifespan, it still remains the cutest officially licensed camera out there. The first-party option is an uninspired all-black accessory that looks incredibly dull and lifeless compared to the faithful recreation of the Super Mario series baddie.

The mouth of the Piranha Planet opens and closes, and acts as the camera's privacy shutter. It's compatible in handheld mode, and even its base has been given much thought, as it takes on the design of an iconic Warp Pipe. But as great as this camera looks, it can only muster up a measly 480p resolution, which isn't going to cut it when it comes to your future Star Fox Game Chat shenanigans.

To represent just how dodgy the camera quality is, I've provided an example in the image above. I did zoom into the screen, but even in the middle of the day and with the addition of a ring light bouncing off the faces of my partner and I, we still came out as blurry messes that look almost as scary as Falco's bizarre new feather fingers.

Switch 2 Star Fox isn't out yet, so I can't put the camera to its paces to see exactly how it copes with the new Game Chat features, but I can only imagine it's not going to do the job. AR Filters work by using computer algorithms and your camera to detect and map movements of your face, much in the same way that VTubers use for face-tracking. For the best result, you want to have as clear an image quality as you can, and having a better quality Switch 2 camera that can manage at least 1080p will serve you better.

The official first-party Switch 2 camera has a 1080p resolution and is currently $54.99 at Amazon. It won't work in handheld mode unless you have a table to set it out on, but it should at least allow you to transform into the ever-cool Fox McCloud while chatting to your friends via GameChat.

I get that the cute factor and cheap price of Hori's Piranha Plant alternative (which is down to $29.99 at Amazon right now) will be more alluring. However, if you want to get your money's worth, 480p cameras are ones to be avoided. Remember, you don't have to even fork out the $54.99 for the first-party version, as the handheld is compatible with most USB-C cameras, so you spend nothing if you've already got a worthy 1080p webcam lying around.

If Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is consuming your Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 playtime, you don't have to fork out the $26.99 cost for the officially licensed Nintendo Switch Touch Pen to have a good time drawing up some nightmare-inducing Miis. You don't (and shouldn't) need to resort to using a carrot as a stylus either - though I admire the ingenuity.

I like the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories with the official branding as much as the next gal, but I instead picked up a set of MEKO 3 in 1 Stylus Pens for £7.99 (Amazon) / $9.99 (Amazon). The rubber tips aren't pixel-perfect by any means. But I've still managed to draw countless Miis and customized treasures without forking out a fortune, scratching the screen, or smearing a vegetable across my pricey Nintendo tech, which is a win in my book.

The MEKO Stylus Pens set on Amazon UK has been one of the best Switch 2 accessory investments I've made in 2026, as it's made customizing far more fun and intuitive. Before, I was just using my fingertips, which still worked, but never left me creating anything I was pleased with - just Miis that looked so bizarre that they had more in common with my sleep paralysis demons than any famous anime characters I was trying to recreate.

Switching out my grubby fingertips for the 0.2-inch rubber tip of the shimmery Rose Gold stylus changed all that. My creations weren't instantly perfect, as drawing on a Switch 2 feels alien, no matter what you're using. Yet dragging that soft rubber nib across the handheld 7.9-inch display felt closer to real digital art, and so I was able to doodle away with the end results looking at least more like what I intended them to. There's now a little Mii running around my island that looks vaguely like Frieren from the Frieiren Beyond Journey's End anime series, down to her iconic earrings and green-lit eyes. I've even added a GamesRadar+ Mii that has our orange logo for a face - a simple shape but one that was far easier to put together with a stylus in hand.

My favorite creations that only felt possible with the stylus set were the addition of some of my most beloved real-life albums. Just last night, I gifted my own personal Mii a copy of Nirvana's In Utero, which featured the iconic angel and her red wings - all of which I drew myself. I don't want to float my own boat too much, but I'm sure even those with a passing knowledge of grunge and 90s music would recognize the cover, even if I missed out on a lot of the atomically correct details.

I could have created the album cover with my fingers and saved some money. The customization screen is pretty generous with its options, and you can zoom in pretty close to draw pixel-by-pixel. But the fact of the matter is, the small £7.99 investment made the drawing part actually enjoyable. Not to mention, it didn't leave fingerprints smeared all over my screen, which makes every penny I spent more than worth it.

If you can't spare the £7.99 / $9.99, by all means use whatever you can muster up and afford. I love the creativity Tomodachi Life Living the Dream players have displayed, and I've even witnessed TikTok user felinequeenie MacGyver-ing a stylus out of a Q-Tip, aluminum foil, and a drop of water. The girl in me who grew up on council estates and lived off second-hand Nintendo tech applauds fans for it, but the small, less than £10 / £$10 investment in a pair of rubber-tipped styluses is still worthwhile if you want drawing to actually feel fun, and your screen to remain scratch and fingerprint-free.

SEGA and PC brand Astromeda have teamed up to create a pair of pre-built Sonic the Hedgehog gaming PCs, and they're a sight to behold. Instead of just using some run-of-the-mill old artwork of the blue blur and calling it a day, the brands have come together to release two stunning builds, one inspired by Sonic Frontiers and the other Sonic x Shadow Generations.

As reported by Sonic Channel, these official Sonic PCs are part of the Sonic Pict range and are available in five different configurations, starting from 178,800 yen as Astromeda (roughly $1,141.86). Just like the best gaming PC builds at other retailers, you can also select between your own preferred RAM, storage, and power supply, and if you'd rather the Sonic Model or Shadow Model case. And if you have enough rings, you can import the lot for a hefty free, and that Shadow the Hedgehog PC case has definitely got me considering the pricey investment.

The 'Shadow Model' PC is one of the best accessories or Sonic merchandise I've seen. As a big fan of the original Dreamcast Sonic Adventure 2 game, where Shadow made his first appearance, there's an argument to be made that I'd be just as swayed by seeing older official art pasted on the side glass of the case. But this is the first pre-built PC whose marketing images alone have made me teary. (In a good way.)

SEGA and Astromeda have showcased the art of Maria and Shadow looking up at the night's sky, in a lovely, seldom moment before the events of the game. It's so charming that it's now one of my favorite pieces of Sonic artwork. The art doesn't just wrap around the glass, but Sonic Channel images reveal that silhouettes of the two are also found throughout the entire back panel. The art is so charming that even the vents don't get in the way of its splendour.

If you aren't a Shadow the Hedgehog fan, then there's also the Sonic Model. It also features art on the glass and the entire back panel, but it showcases Sonic chilling out with one of his Koco friends instead. Both of these cases, no matter the parts you pick, come equipped with a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler and a total of 10 case fans. And as a neat extra, Astromeda has also included a limited-time bonus wallpaper featuring the art of your Sonic PC of choice, and an exclusive Sonic Pict-inspired start-up screen will appear once you boot your PC up.

While you can import these Sonic Pict gaming PCs, I do worry about how much the shipping and part fees are going to cost in the long run. Not to mention, some of the cheapest options, like the RADEON RX 5600XT 6G graphics card, are already sold out since I last checked the Astromeda store, so that's going to complicate things. That's before you take the inflated prices of RAM into consideration.

With that in mind, it might be a safer investment on my part to check out the range of official mousemats, or the Sonic the Hedgehog x Astromeda 8K Gaming Keyboard, also part of the Sonic Pict lineup. The theming is a bit more subtle on the board, and it appears like there's some garish Comic Sans-like typeface used for the caps for whatever reason. But I'd much sooner deal with the 34,980 yen at Astromeda ($163.81) cost than the bank-breaking funds it takes to grab a gaming PC in this day and age, no matter how much it awakens my Sonic fandom ways.

The detail on display with Razer's Gengar Collection is sublime. From the glowing silhouettes of the ghostly apparition on the headset to the subtle background pattern on the mouse that features iconography of not just Gengar, but tiny little Poke Balls too - it's hard not to be obsessed as an old school Pokemon fan.

If I had to point out an issue however, it'd definitely be the price. At launch, you were mostly paying for the Pokemon aesthetic, as is often the case with any licensed gaming tech. That's why I was grinning ear to ear like Gengar itself when I saw it had all been discounted for Amazon Gaming Week. As of now, you can grab the Razer Gigantus V2 XXL Gaming Mouse Pad for just $39.99 (Amazon) and the matching headset for $111.99 (Amazon), the lowest prices I've seen for them yet. Even the mouse has dropped in price, but if you're after the whole lot, I recommend getting there quickly, as these kind of savings are god-pack level rare.

I'm a sucker for a good set of licensed gaming accessories, and Razer's Gengar Collection is so good that it still haunts my dreams and my PC setup. The official accessories range is not the first of Razer's attempts at launching a wealth of goodies with Pokemon slathered all over them, but it's undoubtedly the best - well, so long as you're a Ghost-Type fan.

f you're questioning grabbing any of these discounted goodies today, I'd recommend being a big fan of Gengar, as it's the star across the whole range. That may sound obvious, but some of the products go so ham into the theming that I can't foresee casual Pokemon fans appreciating their splendour.

Take, for example, the glorious Razer Kraken Kitty V2 USB Wired Headset, which has never been this cheap before. It doesn't just feature some overused artwork, but the headband replicates the ears and spikes of hair on Gengar's head. It's basically a 'what-if a pair like the Razer Kraken Kitty V3 Pro was Gengar themed'. Cosplayers might want to take note.

The Razer Kraken Kitty V2 USB Wired Headset isn't a wireless headset, though, so you are still paying a bit more for style over substance with today's deal. Alternatives like the Razer Barracuda X Chroma, available for $89.99 at Amazon, are plenty more featureful, but won't scratch that Pokemon itch. While you aren't getting the most high-end features here, this headset still sounds fantastic as it's equipped with Razer's iconic 40mm Triforce audio drivers, which are found in a range of my favorite older headsets from the brand.

It's a similar situation with the Razer Cobra Wired Gaming Mouse. If I were to ask the hardware team's resident rodent expert, Tabitha Baker, for the best gaming mouse out there, she'd likely recommend the Razer Deathadder V4 Pro or the Logitech G203 Lightsync and not this bad boy. However, it's still going to be a nice touch to any Pokemon-themed setup. The Razer Chroma-powered RGB lighting can sync up to the Gengar headset too, which is a really nice touch.

Can you find a more featureful range of accessories that match (or are even cheaper) than today's Razer Gengar Collection Amazing Gaming Week savings? Absolutely. Even with these record-low price drops, you're still paying more for the Pokémon-ness of it all, rather than what the tech can do.

Yet if you're after a spooky and cozy look to your gaming space, this range is ideal for Pokemon nerds - so much so that my partner has 'borrowed' the entire range from me, and I don't expect I'll see it returned to me any time soon.

It feels unfair to throw shade at the official Joy-Con grip compared to the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories out there, as it comes free with the handheld. But the small controller add-on feels super uncomfortable and limiting. It locks your Switch 2 Joy-Cons to one angle and requires you to take off any grips every time you use it.

The edgy accessories maker Dbrand has decided to combat Nintendo's first-party accessory misgivings by releasing its own Joy-Lock Controller Holder. Available for $19.95 (Dbrand), it not only allows players to leave any grips attached (including Dbrand's Joy-Lock Grips naturally), but it also includes a ratcheting, articulating hinge, so you can mimic the angle of the best Nintendo Switch 2 controllers like the Switch 2 Pro Controller or make it "wider than the Xbox controller" at a fraction of a Pro controller cost.

This new Joy-Lock controller holder has a unique origin story. Instead of just deciding to release a grip of their own, as so many other brands have done in the Switch 2's wake, Dbrand states that their "customers invented it" first. When the NS2 Killswitch case launched last year, multiple customers were modding the official Nintendo version so they could still use Killswitch's ergonomic controller grips.

For those unaware, the official Switch 2 Joy-Con grip combines the controllers into one pad, but it also has curved handles on either side. This prevents you from using any grips of any kind, but Dbrand KillSwitch owners, like that of LimRaccoon on Reddit, found a solution by disassembling the accessory and taking off the pesky handles. This then inspired the brand to not plainly release a grip, given how challenging a pitch it would have been to suggest people buy an accessory they've already DIY'd, but instead focused on the fixed ergonomics limitations so many existing grips possess.

Thus, the Joy-Lock Controller Holder was born, which swaps the static middle section of a grip for an "ultra-satisfying ratchet mechanism" instead. Of course, if you don't already own the Killswitch case, which comes with the Dbrand ergonomic grips, you'll still be stuck with the flat backs of the Joy-Con controllers, which is a bit of a bummer as far as comfort goes.

You can buy the Joy-Lock Grips separately for $19.95 from the official Dbrand online store. However, that means you'll be expected to fork out a little over $39 for both, which is a lot for a Switch 2 Joy-Con grip accessory alone. Alternatives like the JSAUX Switch 2 Charging Grip are available for $21.99 at Amazon and provide both an angled controller holder and ergonomic grips. It doesn't have an adjustable hinge mechanism, but you would be saving $17 in comparison.

Dbrand has thought of this, and there is a $5 discount if you add both its Joy-Lock Controller Holder and grips to your online basket at least. You can also get $5 off the controller holder alone if you're a pre-existing Killswitch customer, which is a pro-consumer move that I'm as much a fan of as I am seeing another alternative to Nintendo's uncomfortable official grip. Hopefully, I can test it out for myself and see if it is truly more comfortable than a Pro controller.

If you're about to take your Switch 2 on a grand summer adventure, an all-in-one case should be first on your shopping list. Well, maybe after the sunscreen. Once you have stocked up on enough factor 50 to keep your skin lathered up, picking up one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases, like the Turtle Beach Play Trek 2-in-1 Case, is a must if you're planning on getting in some docked-mode gaming during your valued time off.

A small travel case can keep your handheld safe as it's tossed around in a suitcase, but the Turtle Beach 2-in-1 case will keep it and your dock and cables safe, too. These alternatives are pretty large and pricier than a run-of-the-mill slimeline option, but the Turtle Beach Play Trek 2-in-1 Case is down to $39.99 at Amazon thanks to Amazing Gaming Week today. It's just a $10 discount, but that's an extra $10 off the best multi-purpose case I've reviewed so far. Plus, you can put that spare $10 towards getting some well-deserved grub on your vacation, or if you're as pale as me, even more of that precious sunscreen.

You can technically get away with just shoving your dock in your suitcase, but I wouldn't recommend it. Particularly, as a first-party replacement, which includes a spare HDMI cable and AC adapter, will cost you $124.99 at Nintendo, which is not cheap. I regularly bring my entire Switch 2 setup to my in-laws' house when I'm house sitting, and I personally wouldn't risk it when options like the Turtle Beach PlayTrek case exist.

The Turtle Beach PlayTrek 2-in-1 case can fit the handheld, the dock, and both sets of cables, while still having extra space for accessories. The main section of the case is kitted out with individual parted sections that keep everything secure and prevent your fancy dock from hitting anything but the soft fabric-coated compartment surrounding it. I've reviewed a few of these cases in the past, but the Turtle Beach version stands out as these sections are actually specifically moulded for your Switch 2 accessories.

Alternatives like the JSAUX All-in-One Carrying Case are great, but it just has rectangular spaces that can roughly fit your dock and more. With specific sections that are specifically designed for each part of the Switch 2, it prevents your pricey tech from rattling around. I thought it was pretty limiting at first when I reviewed the case last year, as the controller section appears designed for the Switch 2 Pro controller that I don't have. But fortunately, it can store everything from the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 to the official NSO GameCube controller, and wasn't actually restrictive in practice at all.

While I've been rambling on, I haven't even got to the best feature of this Turtle Beach case, and most all-in-one cases for that matter - the fact that it's actually two cases in one. If you're planning on having some docked and handheld Switch 2 fun on your holiday, you can keep everything together as one large case, or zip off the top. The upper section of the accessory doubles up as a standalone travel case, which can easily fit in your backpack.

Want to do some fishing in Animal Crossing New Horizons at the beach while literally at the beach? You can do that without lugging around the two cases together, and the top half even provides a fabric mesh pocket that can fit a charging cable, and space to store plenty of physical games, from New Horizons to Pokemon Pokopia.

If you're worried about carrying the entire large case around, over the upper half, Turtle Beach throws in a carrying strap to make things easier. The brand also has the benefit of having the official Nintendo licence too so this one looks far more dapper than others I've tested. You're getting a lot of bang for buck for today's $39.99 deal price.

Before you grab this Amazon Gaming Week deal, do remember that if you don't have a reason to travel around with your Switch 2 dock, you don't exactly need one. Yet, as you're essentially getting two cases here, you can always grab it, stick to the travel case at the top, and keep the rest of it set aside for when you are prepared for some well-deserved free time off, docked gaming.

Hori has just unveiled a new batch of Animal Crossing New Horizons Switch 2 accessories that are so cute they've brought a twinkle to my eye. Announced on the official Hori Japan page, they're set to launch in Japan on June 30th and center around the star-gazing Celeste and Tom Nook.

There's an aptly named "Celeste and the Starry Night" line for those who prefer the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories to have a bit of sparkle, and the "DIY Life" range for those who prefer a cottage core aesthetic instead. The Celeste products are definitely what first caught my eye, as they include a purple translucent Horipad Turbo wireless controller and a matching case that look just as magnificent as the meteor showers New Horizons they're based on.

It's the brand's Horipad Turbo controller that's been transformed with the sparkly Celeste-themed look for this new product line. Thankfully, unlike the Gengar and Mimikyu Hori accessories, Hori has ensured it's the wireless version of the controller that's been used, which means there's no distracting (and somewhat ugly) wire to get in the way.

Though even if there was an ugly wire attached, it would be a challenge to pull attention away from the stunning upcoming gamepad. Besides its deep translucent purple chassis, Celeste can be found sitting on the left grip. She looks cute enough, but it's the meteor shower print with its lovely white sparkles that steals the show. The design feels super fitting too, as Celeste will be on your island in New Horizons each time there's a meteor shower, giving you a chance to grab some star fragments to create a range of cute star-themed items.

The matching case is just as stellar. It features the same imagery of Celeste on the front, as well as the white sparkling meteor showing print, but Hori went the extra mile to include star fragments for the zippers. But if I could make a wish on a star to make the line better, I would have wanted the inclusion of a headset, just like the DIY Life line.

The DIY Life range of Switch 2 goodies includes a wired Nintendo Switch headset, which is overflowing with cute details. Images of Timmy and Tommy Nook can be found inside the earcups, and the pair of cups gives off a look as if it were crafted using the in-game workbench and logs of wood.

Judging from the 'DIY Life' name and the rest of the line, this definitely feels like a deliberate design choice. This range also includes a wood-effect controller, which includes engraved images of a ton of characters, including Tom Nook, Isabelle, and even Blathers. I can't be certain if Hori has used actual wood for the pad, as the official product page at the Hori Japan Store is in Japanese, but even if it's not real, it still looks pretty convincing.

Just like the Celeste and Starry Night line, it's another wireless Horipad Turbo controller that's been used. So you'll not only get a unique design, but TMR thumbsticks, an up to 10-hour battery life, Bluetooth, and support for the older Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite handhelds. There's no amiibo compatibility or HD rumble to be found however, which could be an issue if you like to frequently use your Animal Crossing NFC figures.

The DIY Life line also includes a quilted case. It features Timmy and Tommy Nook sitting on a white and orange plaid pattern, and swaps the star fragment zippers for little leaf details that look exactly like the 25-year-old game series' logo. This design is also found on the Switch 2 Shoulder Pouch, which goes a step further to include a tiny bell bag motif.

Both the DIY Life and the Celeste and the Starry Night accessories are officially licensed from Nintendo, and are available from Amazon Japan on June 30. If you don't feel like dealing with import fees, you can join me in keeping my fingers crossed that Hori will release these products in the US and UK soon, too. I'll maybe make a wish on a star if that'll help get them here sooner.

With an official licence to use Nintendo art in its back pocket, Turtle Beach has been steadily growing its PlayTrek Travel Case lineup. Even as this review goes up, there are new models incoming, draped in lovely Nintendo character art, and all that'd be worthy as being the best Nintendo Switch 2 case as far as looks go.

Yet, it's the Mario Bricks PlayTrek Travel Case that was released in November 2025 that deserves that commendation in my eyes. Instead of just sticking on some Super Mario art and branding and calling it a day, Turtle Beach infused the case with a lenticular 3D-effect, which makes it stand out from the slew of alternatives I've tested since the Switch 2's launch. From one angle, it appears that the case features a plain brick pattern, but from another, art is revealed that showcases Mario doing what he does best, about to stomp on a pair of iconic Super Mario series Goombas.

It's a bit of a gimmick for sure, and it's sadly a bit prone to wear and tear if you don't store your case properly. However, it pushes an already great-looking accessory and transforms it into the best-designed case I've tested to date. The fact that it only costs $29.99 / £19.99 and is prone to discounts during even the smallest sales events just makes it even more worth your hard-earned gold coins.

Design

The 3D lenticular effect is something you may be familiar with if you were a 90s kid. There was an influx of 3D posters out in the wild back then, so seeing this make a comeback in a modern Switch 2 case brought on a rush of nostalgia. The effect on the case is pretty well implemented, too.

At first glance, you see the brick pattern, but hidden underneath is the art of Mario in a classic Yōichi Kotabe-style jumping into the air. There's a classic Mario star above his head, so it's likely Mario is about to go super saiyan and rain down some invincible pain on the two Goomba standing before him. It's a cute piece of official art, and it's made all the cuter that it's hidden under this lenticular gimmick.

In keeping with the classic cartoony Super Mario art style, Turtle Beach has made sure to include a green, red, and blue carrying handle, and pops of color throughout the rest of the case. Even the back, which brands like Hori tend to leave blank, like with their Gengar and Mimikyu case, sports a bright red splash of color and the 'Super Mario' logo in yellow in the center, to tie in with the rest of the Super Mario color palette.

Features

The Mario Bricks PlayTrek Travel Case isn't all style over substance. On the inside, it includes storage for both games and smaller accessories. There's even some dabs of color to be found, which some well-known accessory brands don't even bother with.

In between the upper and lower sections of the case, there lies a flap of fabric that features velcro pockets that can store up to 12 physical Switch and Switch 2 game cartridges. These little pockets are a deep blue to match Mario's overalls on the cover and the attachment at the end of the case's zipper. It's a tiny detail, but I'm always a fan when there's color on the interior of a case, too. The zip of the accessories pocket also matches, and it can store extras like a charging cable or a microSD Express Card if you have one spare.

After using my fair share of cases since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, I've been less fond of storing anything in pockets like it. When you zip up a case, you can sometimes feel the extra pressure that even a small pair of stored thumb grips can put on the handheld's display, so I chose to leave it empty for the most part. However, if you like to at least have a USB-C charging cable in tow, it's handy that it's there nonetheless.

The moulded bottom interior of the Turtle Beach accessory can also fit not just the Nintendo Switch 2, but also the older Switch and Switch OLED handhelds. I even put this to the test myself. Thanks to the two left and right ridges and the velcro strap, which keeps the handheld in place, my Switch OLED fit perfectly and never moved around.

Performance

I originally tested the 'Mario Bricks' Turtle Beach PlayTrek Travel Case shortly after it launched last year. However, I wanted to see how the lenticular effect held up after months of use, as I was worried that it might be more prone to wear and tear than your average case exterior.

Over the last few months, I've gone back to using the case in between alternatives like the Belkin Charging Case Pro, and just as I expected, the cover has received its fair share of scratches. I can be a bit clumsy with my tech and accessories, but even I didn't expect the cover to receive as many nicks and scratches as it has. Just like the 3D Super Mario art effect, it's not entirely noticeable unless you're looking at the case from a certain angle, but it does make me concerned about ever taking the case with me when gaming on the go.

I only took the case to and from my mom's and friends' houses, so it was never in immediate harm's way. However, there must have been something in my backpack that wanted to leave a lasting impression on the unique case. If you want to grab this for yourself, it's worth making sure any objects, like a makeup mirror or hairbrush, are stored elsewhere, just to be safe.

Other than its susceptibility to cosmetic damage, this is still a fantastic Switch 2 case. It's a little thick coming in at 11.81 inches x 6.10 inches x 2.28 inches, so it's less travel-friendly than the thin PowerA Slim Case. But its chunky form factor is nice and robust, and managed to keep my beloved Switch 2 nice and snug, along with a selection of my favorite games to play on the go.

Like I mentioned earlier, I kept the accessory pocket empty during my original testing last year and the last two weeks that I've returned to using the PlayTrek case. As I'm slowly becoming less a fan of these over time, I didn't want to put any extra undue pressure on the handheld's display, but as someone who has to test the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards, the fact that it can be zipped made it handy for storing an extra tiny SD card when I had to.

Should you buy the Mario Bricks Turtle Beach PlayTrek Travel Case?

At just $29.99 / £19.99, this is a fantastic option for Switch 2 players and Super Mario fans. It's not just the unique and nostalgia-fueled lenticular cover that stands out and makes an impression, but the minor adn very appreciated details of the bright and vivid colored carrying handle, zips, and storage.

It's been out for a while now, so you can also regularly find it as part of sales events at US and UK retailers. In the past, this has brought the already affordable case down to an even lower $24.99 in the US and £16.99 in the UK. Of course, if you aren't a Super Mario fan, it's not going to be a good choice, no matter how cheap it gets.

Turtle Beach did launch a Donkey Kong PlayTrek Case alongside this Mario Bricks design, which showcases the same unique lenticular effect. The 'reveal' isn't as dramatic, but it's a better option if you aren't hugely a fan of Mario and this case's cartoony color palette.

How I tested the Mario Bricks Turtle Beach PlayTrek Travel Case

The Hello, Yoshi app is available to download for free from the Nintendo Switch eShop. The adorable game lets your kids (or you, I'm not judging) play around with Yoshi's face a la' Super Mario 64 style, manipulating his cute, green dinosaur features and springing them around the screen.

It's sickeningly cute. But before you go ahead and download it to your Nintendo Switch 2, I beg that you grab one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories first, that being a handy dandy screen protector. The app involves using the handheld's touch screen to move around Yoshi's face, and the vision of kids pressing up their fingers on the bare 7.9-inch screen fills me with dread. Ensuring you have a screen protector in tow will help give your Switch 2 display an extra layer of defense and help lower my anxiety at the time. Your kids having fun with Yoshi should be the priority here, but when I see an opening to help protect your pricey Nintendo tech, I'm gonna take it.

I am not the target audience for Hello Yoshi, despite being a 30-something-year-old Super Mario fan. However, I did download the app to my own Switch 2 to see just how much touch-screen action it required, and it's a lot. Even after a few minutes' worth of stretching out Yoshi's face, I've already made plans to sit down and give my handheld's display some TLC with a microfibre cloth after work to ensure it's fingerprint-free.

The buttons of the handheld aren't rendered totally useless, as using the directional face buttons will send a ripple through Yoshi's cute face. However, most of the interactivity involves touching the screen, and if you or your kids are too forceful, this could put your display at risk of damage. The best way to protect it is by grabbing a screen protector, like the AmFilm Auto-Alignment OneTouch Screen Protector available for $8.99 at Amazon, which includes two tempered glass sheets in the box.

If you're worried about messing up the application, the two sets of protectors mean you essentially have two goes at getting it right. The brand has also thrown in an installation tray to make it easier and as air-bubble-free as possible. You don't have to stick to this brand either, as there are plenty of screen protectors on the market right now. I'm currently rocking a Belkin TemperedGlass Anti-Reflective Screen Protector on my handheld, which is $24.99 at Amazon as of typing.

That's quite a large sum to spend on what is essentially an extra layer of protective glass, but I was fortunate enough to be sent one to test after the launch of the Switch 2 last year. I didn't manage to get it entirely free of air bubbles, but it's managed to keep my Switch 2's display free of wear and tear, even almost a year later.

When it comes to these screen protectors, ideally, you just want to ensure they're made of tempered glass. This is glass that's been reinforced by extra materials to prevent it from shattering, and as it's glass, you can see your lovely LCD Switch 2 display through it without issue. Well, so long as you don't accidentally get a cat hair stuck underneath it - I've been there before.

Most screen protectors will be made of tempered glass. My recommendation is also to ensure you grab a set, as it means if anything were to happen to it, you have another that you can quickly swap in its place. What you want to avoid is any of those 'screen protectors' that are essentially just stickers to place over your handheld screen.

The official Nintendo Carrying Case for the Switch 2 came with one of those, and I was pretty gobsmacked. That's not going to do much to reinforce your display and give it any extra protection. The screen already has a built-in plastic film layer to keep the glass in its place, should anything happen to the original screen underneath. So adding an extra sticker on top is pretty pointless.

Whatever brand you grab, just promise me you'll try and grab one before unveiling the adorable-ness that is the Hello Yoshi app to your kids. I love the idea of a new generation being introduced to not just Yoshi, but the fun of prodding and manipulating a Super Mario character's face. What I don't love is the idea of putting your pricey handheld's screen in danger of cracking like a Yoshi egg.

As a '90s kid, I live by the ethos that everything is better when it glows in the dark. This thought process only grew after years spent drifting off to sleep by the light of the glowing solar system on my childhood ceiling. Even now, I still feel drawn to anything with that nostalgia-fueled, hazy green glow, especially when a brand like Turtle Beach manages to include it on a Switch 2 case.

The new Koopa Troop Turtle Beach PlayTrek Travel Case does just that. It's available to pre-order for $29.99 (Amazon) / £19.99 (Amazon), and once the lights are out, the best Nintendo Switch 2 case contender showcases a glow-in-the-dark outline around Mario and all the classic Super Mario series baddies chasing after him. I sadly have yet to see the effect in person, but if the quality of the past Mario Brick Turtle Beach Switch 2 case is anything to go by, I'm sure the glow is just as bright and nostalgic as the images show it to be, and my inner '90s child couldn't be happier.

Turtle Beach seems to be having a lot of fun with its PlayTrek Switch 2 case line, that having a glow-in-the-dark gimmick feels like the natural next step. Before the Switch 2 case was announced on March 29, the brand had already launched its 'Mario Bricks' and 'Donkey Kong' cases, which featured lenticular covers that changed depending on your viewing angle.

I was fortunate enough to get to test the Mario Bricks Switch 2 case, which revealed hidden artwork of Mario stomping on some Goombas, and it's remained one of the best-looking Switch 2 accessories I've used to date. This time around, there's no secret artwork that reveals itself as it's just the line-art that glows, and yet I'm just as obsessed, if not more, with its funky design.

Growing up a glow-in-the-dark-loving '90s kid definitely has something to do with it, but I'm also a fan of the red, orange, and yellow strips of color that span across the front of the predominantly silver case. The vivid and warm color palette reminds me of Bowser's fiery breath, which I assume Turtle Beach was going for with a name like 'Koopa Troop'.

With the previous Mario Bricks case, I was impressed at not just its unique gimmick, but the quality of its interior too. As this new Koopa Troop version is part of that same PlayTrek line, it looks to carry that same interior quality, which features storage for up to 12 physical Switch and Switch 2 carts, and a fabric mesh pocket that you can zip up and store smaller accessories.

One of my favorite aspects of the PlayTrek cases is not just its design and accessory storage, but that there are dabs of color found elsewhere than just its front-facing design. So many cases feature fabulous artwork, but have the same all-black or gray interiors and zips. However, Turtle Beach has equipped this case with bright red game storage, red zips, and a matching colored handle to make the design and color palette feel more unified and fit for a King Koopa.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Switch 2 Edition arrived in January earlier this year, and at the time, I had hoped that we'd see some of the best Switch 2 accessories get the Animal Crossing treatment. Alas, while there was a steady flow of adorable new merch that popped up on the official Nintendo US and UK storefronts, there wasn't much in the way of new Switch 2 cases, controllers, and other goodies.

However, the fansite Animal Crossing World discovered that a new batch of Animal Crossing Switch 2 accessories by Keys Factory is incoming, at least in Japan anyway. Animal Crossing World showed off images on its Twitter (X) page that include a brand new Animal Crossing Switch 2 case, Switch 2 Joy-Con covers, and a range of cute game cart cases, all sporting Isabelle, K.K Slider, and Tommy and Timmy's adorable faces.

The listings for these accessories, which start at 1,762 yen at Amazon Japan (roughly $11), state that they'll be released on August 31 later this year, and so far, I've found no announcement that they'll be available outside of Japan. That's a shame, as these new accessories are super adorable and officially licensed by Nintendo to boot.

The Switch 2 case features a patchwork design, which showcases Isabelle in her pink Summer shirt on one side and K.K Slider on the other. There's also a range of iconic New Horizons villagers on the case, including my favorite boy, Brewster. After perusing some of the official images on Amazon Japan, I spotted that, much like the best Nintendo Switch 2 cases, it can store up to 6 physical games. Besides the case, there's also a Switch 2 cover available as part of this new range.

The cover hangs on the top edge of the handheld and drapes in front of its 7.9-inch display to keep it protected from general wear and tear. Timmy and Tommy Nook are plastered on the front, along with a lovely and fitting leaf pattern and silhouettes of a range of houses and tents. If you're a Timmy and Tommy fan, they're also present on a set of Joy-Con covers for this new set.

The Switch 2 Joy-Con covers are my favorite accessories from this line, as they cleverly feature a dotted sewing pattern border. They're not made from fabric, but the design choice ties into the cottage core aesthetic of New Horizons perfectly. This same sewing design is found on the game card cases, of which there are three listings on Amazon Japan right now.

They range from a design featuring Isabelle, K.K Slider and Timmy and Tommy Nook again, who all appear to be the shining stars of these upcoming Switch 2 accessories. These cases appear to be able to store two physical Switch or Switch 2 games, and one of the best Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express cards if you have one.

If we don't see these game card cases appear on US or UK digital shelves, it's those I'd be especially sad about. In the past, Keys Factory has released similar cases that showcased the Hylian Shield that I was desperate to get my hands on. However, these remained exclusive to Japan.

While a trip to Japan sounds nice, I don't quite have the number of Nook Miles required to visit just to grab some accessories. If and when these Animal Crossing accessories appear at US and UK retailers, I'll be sure to let you know.

Steam Machine is still AWOL on the shelves, some four months after its original announcement. Valve has addressed the silence, stating it originally intended to have price and availability information for us way back in February - but still nada. It's not surprising. Current component shortages are putting MSRPs all out of whack, with RAM and storage (and soon CPU) supplies dwindling and prices skyrocketing across the industry.

Anyone who already has a Steam Deck is already about halfway there, though. Yes, the Steam Machine will likely greatly improve on the overall power you'll have at your fingertips, but the handheld device only needs a few extra gadgets to offer up a similar big-screen experience today. The best Steam Deck docks can throw your games up on the TV with plenty of extra ports for storage and accessories. Not only that, but there are plenty more Steam Deck accessories to refine the experience.

You'll just need four gadgets to get a fully functional Steam Machine-esque experience off the ground using one of the best gaming handhelds - and only two if you prefer gamepad controls.

Baseus 6-in-1 Steam Deck dock

The Baseus 6-in-1 docking station doesn't offer the widest array of connections, but you're still covered for a controller, keyboard and mouse - and we never noticed any power drops when everything was hooked up and running. Yes you'll find full-PC docks out there with up to 20 outlets for who-knows-what accessories, but in a Steam Machine-like living room setting this is the perfect balance between functionality and compact design.

You're getting three USB-A ports and one USB-C port to play with, and an HDMI 2.0 connection for up to 100W of power delivery. The dock is designed to output at 4K 60Hz, like the Steam Machine, but considering the handheld's power you may well be scaling down your resolution to keep all but the lightest games playable.

Crucially, the whole thing is just well made. It's sturdy, solid, and hasn't let us down in over a year of continued testing. There's even a handy foldable stand (fully adjustable for the Steam Deck) that can tuck out of view when not in use.

Asus ROG Raikiri Pro

The Asus ROG Raikiri Pro has found its home in the GamesRadar+ Steam Deck setup. That's because of that handy Bluetooth connection, fantastic design, and solid battery life. While its back buttons can't quite keep up with the competition and there must be something else Asus can do with that onboard display, this is still our go-to recommendation for those building a Steam Machine setup out of a Deck.

You're essentially getting an Xbox-feeling controller with the extra spice of pro features. Trigger locks, mapping, and profile presets can all be set within Asus's Armoury Crate app, with some features toggled via the OLED panel itself. That's great for on-the-fly hopping on Steam Deck, especially if you want as little time in software as possible.

We've been running this controller specifically with Steam Deck for a couple of years now and that 48 hour battery life holds up. Sharing between devices using the dual 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections is easy going as well.

Razer Joro

The Razer Joro is a slimline gaming keyboard that feels tailor made for the Steam Deck but also avoids all the pitfalls often associated with these 'living room' devices. It's pictured above with an Asus ROG Ally but gets on just fine with either system and offers an incredibly satisfying typing experience without the bulk of a more permanent keyboard.

Unlike most mushy, rattly keyboards you'll find in this portable category, the Joro uses Razer's scissor switches for a super satisfying, tactile typing experience. It's a little heavier than the chiclet deck you might find on a laptop, which means anyone typing for hours at a time may feel a little fatigue. For gaming on your lap though? It's easily the best gaming keyboard for the job.

A sturdy battery life and Bluetooth connection means you can keep this one cable (and dongle) free for a considerable amount of time, though that drop away from 2.4GHz won't suit more competitive players. It certainly makes for an easier setup, though. Whether you're at home with your dock or on the road, just turn the deck on and you're away.

SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2

That removable battery is both a blessing and a curse for the SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2. Whether you love the flexibility it provides or hate the lack of cable charging, though, this cheaper rodent feels particularly well suited to the Steam Deck.

With up to 450 hours of Bluetooth battery at your disposal you're going to be sorted for quite some time before you'll need to swap over, but being able to go from 0 to 100% in just a few seconds can come in surprisingly useful with a handheld.

Not only that, but the Rival 3 also comes with 2.4GHz options - it's rare for a gaming mouse this cheap to go for both. Go for Bluetooth when you're out and about and 2.4GHz when you're on the couch and you're sorted for both speed and versatility here.

The actual build is surprisingly sturdy for the price (I just wish those side buttons were a little thicker) with a textured surface that feels fantastic in the hands.
