Exclusive District 9 concept art

Thanks to our sister publication ImagineFX we've got some never-before-seen art work from the summer's sci-fi sleeper sensation District 9 , produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp.

He's an alien. He's an illegal alien, he's a 'prawn' in Johannesburg.

Looks like a Transformer. Isn't. This is the battlesuit Agent Wikus (Sharlto Copley - soon to be seen as 'Howling Mad' Murdoch in the A-Team movie re-boot) wears to give him extra fire power.

Enforced Alien tattooing. Evokes real world issues in this loose apartheid allegory.

You can see these pictures and more in the celebrate 50th issue of ImagineFX , on sale now. ImagineFX is the UK’s leading sci-fi and fantasy arts magazine and issue 50 includes interviews with the WETA design team and more new pics as well as a feature on the 50 most inspirational sci-fi and fantasy artists, including spotlights on the Star Trek reboot’s Craig Mullins, Dave Gibbons and Star Wars’ concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.
