Chloe Moretz is Emily The Strange

Emily The Strange

Kick-Ass and Let Me In nipper Chloe Moretz has been recruited to star in another comic book adaptation with Emily The Strange .

The Dark Horse comic is being adapted over at Universal, and will take the origin story route as we meet the kooky teen and her four even kookier cats.

The character originally featured on a skateboard-promoting sticker in 1991, created by Rob Reger. She proved so popular that she became the figurehead of an entire Strange empire, with current merchandising including stationary, accessories and clothing.

The comics were first published in 2005, and follow 13-year-old Strange’s encounters with talking cats, high profile phantoms and a decidedly dodgy reality.

Moretz, naturally, seems like a perfect fit for the material, having excelled in the kind of dry wit and kooky before-her-years maturity that such a role requires. We imagine there'll be less C-words in this one, though...
