UPDATE: as of 18 September 2009 we've been informed this event has been cancelled
The things some people will do to celebrate a Blu-Ray release, eh? Not that we’re complaining, mind you, as the plan to celebrate the release of The Prisoner: The Complete Series is inspired.
The Prince Charles Cinema in central London will be hosting "The Prisoner All-Nighter" where every single episode of the classic series will be screened in high definition. In a row.
It takes place on Saturday 26 September, starting at 8:30pm and continuing for a staggering 17 hours. Each lucky attendee will receive a reproduction ITV brochure documenting the series’ debut back in 1967, and opening the event will be Prisoner Loudspeaker Announcer Fenella Fielding… while a secret special guest will bring it to a close.
To be in with a chance of participating in this once-in-a-lifetime event (and it’s certainly no hyperbole to call it that), you can go to www.networkdvd.co.uk and purchase a pre-order copy of The Prisoner: The Complete Series on Blu-Ray (RRP £59.99 - bursting at the seams with extra features!). Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, which is all the more impetus to get yours now, lest all the SFX staff beat you to it!
