Bully in name change shock

Friday 1 September 2006
Bully, the controversy-stoking schoolyard adventure game, has undergone a shock name change. While it'll remain Bully in the US, us Euro-dwellers will have to shuffle into games shops across the country and request a copy of Canis Canem Edit. That's Dog Eat Dog to those non-Latin speakers among you.

Publisher Rockstar says it is unable to comment on the reasons behind the name change, although imagining a tongue-tied protester attempting to chant it with righteous indignation immediately brings a smile to our faces. And it doesn't fit too easily on a placard, either.

Above: What used to be Bullworth Academy's motto is now Bully's new name - would you believe it?

Whatever the game's name, though, it can't diminish our excitement about it. We'll have a full hands-on preview for you later this morning, so stick around for our first verdict on Canis Canem Edit.
