Ben Affleck promises Batman v Superman won't be another Daredevil (and we almost believe him)

After the absolutely horrific Daredevil movie, which saw Ben Affleck don shiny red PVC to fight crime and flirt badly with Jennifer Garner, everyone's more than a little nervous about seeing the actor take on another superhero role when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits cinemas later this month. And we're not the only ones...

“Indeed I have regrets about Daredevil,” Affleck said in an interview on All Things Considered. “Look, if I thought we were remaking Daredevil, I'd be out there picketing myself,” he added. “I’m hard on myself and I have exacting standards and I want to do excellent work and I don't always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive.”

Poor Affleck, he's never going to live Daredevil down.

It seems the actor has a lot to learn about comic book fans though as in the process of praising Batman v Superman, he inadvertently criticised every other superhero movie. “I felt very confident about it,” he said. “I thought it would be nice to make one of these movies really, really good.” Yeah Ben, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Dark Knight… those are all terrible films.

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
