Activision is remaining tight-lipped regarding rumors today that Neversoft has been taken off the Tony Hawk's franchise.The rumors suggest that the Neversoft-created series is now in the hands of new developer Robomodo, who has already disclosed that it's working on an as-yet unnamed game for Activision.

Activision and video game advertising network Massive, a subsidiary of Microsoft, have announced that Activision titles Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground have been added to the Massive Network, allowing in-game advertising to be updated in real-time.

According to the companies, Massive ads served into Guitar Hero III will be "contextually relevant" to the rock venues in which players perform. As for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, the ads will be "tailored to real-world skating environments," offering marketers visibility in each title's specific demographics.

Activision, through the Tony Hawk Proving Ground video game, are giving skaters the chance to create their own "skate stories" and upload them to Youtube for the chance to win £1000 cash. Here's the press release with the details:

Grind on over to the official Tony Hawk Proving Ground You Tube channel and tell Activision your skate stories for a chance to win a £1000 cash. The options are limitless, just be totally creative - get out there with your phone or video camera and create your story for a chance to win £1000 cash.

To enter simply upload your video to the Tony Hawk Proving Ground Group at http://www.youtube.com/group/thpg. Your movies will then be approved and posted there. The movie with the most views by 31st December 2007 wins £1000 cash, Quicksilver and Vans gear, a console and a copy of the game. Analyst: Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk Competitors To Hurt Activision Growth? (News)

Ahead of Activision's financial results next week, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has commended short-term revenue prospects, but commented that "emerging competition for some of [Activision's] core franchises, including Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk", may prove damaging for the company's long-term growth.

Hickey stated for the short-term company prospects, "We expect key fiscal Q208 and 2H08 game sales will come from Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, Transformers, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty 4 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The Company's fiscal '08 game pipeline is exceedingly strong, and will likely generate record fiscal '08 operating performance."

Today Xboxkings sums up three developer walktroughs that shows all the ins and outs of the game!

This Dev not only talks about the tricks, but also special stuff like photoshoots to sell to magazines or shoot a video. An extra dimension besides only skating, these options give one more career building. We're glad the footage seen now looks better then the last few gameplay videos that has been released up till now. Although in a playoff with Skate, we feel Skate will take the graphics price home.

On the other hand, you can place stuff to make great jumps over cars for example anywhere you want in the field.

You've to download 1.06 GB of data, to be able to play a small part of the new world you get to skate in Tony's new game. Ofcourse it's a way to get used to the new 'Nail the Grab' and 'Nail the Manual'.

While SKATE has 45 known songs from artists like David Bowie, N.W.A. and The Ramones, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground comes through with over 50 songs including "The Pretender," the first single from the Foo Fighters' forthcoming album.
