Tony Hawk's Project 8

Behind-the-scenes on Project 8

P-Rod kicks and grinds for the new Tony Hawk

With animation playing a bigger role in Tony Hawk's Project 8 than any previous title, developer Neversoft has been motion-capturing different stances from its featured skaters - as you can see in this session with Paul 'P-Rod' Rodriguez by grinding up to the Movies tab.

Obviously starry-eyed and bushy-haired at the chance to be in a Tony Hawk title, Rodriguez notes that the actual trick motions in previous skating titles were a little lacking. With Project 8 enabling you to take control of those motions, it's reassuring that next-gen power is being used to change the feel of moving through the gameworld, not just the look.

We'll have more on Project 8 as it tricks its way through all three PlayStations and both Xboxes soon.
