"An in-game advertising campaign run by Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) last year in two Tom Clancy videogames prompted a 500 per cent increase in activity on the related recruitment web site, it has been revealed.

The campaign, which featured billboards advertising careers at GCHQ in Ubisoft titles Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Rainbow Six: Vegas, ran for a month and was managed by TMP Worldwide, according to a report in Recruiter.

Kate Clemens, head of GCHQ's digital strategy at TMP, stated that she felt the campaign had been successful as a general profile-raising exercise, with traffic increasing from around 500-600 people per day visiting the "Careers in British Intelligence" site to between 4000 and 7000."

A new player pack - i.e. new content - titled Black Edition is available for the Xbox 360 version of Rainbow Six: Vegas through Xbox Live. In case you didn't hear before, the 800-point pack includes two new game modes: Assasination and Total Conquest, which is King of the Hills with three spots teams need to control. Ubisoft hits us with five new maps and two new gamemodes in the upcoming Player's Pack Red Edition.

"Imagine a regular day at the office. Suddenly, a Rainbow team anti-terrorist agent explodes through the window and into your cubicle. He hands you a gun, a rappelling belt and tells you to follow him or be killed."

This is also how the team at Ubisoft Montreal described the new Assassination mode, part of the upcoming downloadable Player's Pack Red Edition, available on Xbox Live at the end of March. While no price has been announced, look for this package to be a must-download for fans of one of the most popular online titles on Xbox 360.

The latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine apparently spills the beans on new Rainbow Six: Vegas content. The content supposedly contains ten new maps and two new multiplayer modes for 800 MS points. One of the new game types, Assassination, requires players to protect their player controlled VIP and attempt to assassinate the opposing team's VIP. Conquest asks players to maintain control over certain sections of the map, similar to King of the Hill and Territories game types in other games. The content is scheduled to arrive in March.
