I will pick this up eventually and it is a good deal for me (anyways) since I don't have any of the MP mappacks for Halo 3. Its just too bad that you can't take the ODSTs online in there own versions of slayer and other modes. Either way it doesn't sound half bad.
Mmmmhh....Well I've been planning to go to a midnight launch of this thing for awhile so might as well go through with it. At the very least this should hold me over until OF:Dragon Rising.
Dexsus: OP Dragon Rising is goign to be Kick ASS, Hopefully it'll score higher then odst, since, there has been Alot more work put into the operation system....damn i love gr, If they were to score lower, they Defiantly justify why, got's to a love a critic who knows Exactly what their talking about, minus the politics.
AFter watching the GT video review and reading this review I have come to an understanding that I would probably like this games Hero better than ol' Master Chief...
Those who know me know I LOATHE the Halo series, but this seems to bring some realism (as much as possible in a Sci-Fi game) and humanity to the fight that Halo 1-3 never seemed to deliver...
While I'm not going to buy a 360 anytime soon and definitely NOT for this game, I could see myself playing this and enjoying it with a friend at their place or something...
As for the score, it seems to be justified; the gameplay is relatively the same, and not much has changed from previous iterations...Tried and true to the end...Not to mention the extra maps are already available to the Halo 3 fans already so they're "NEW" to the newer fans/players...
Like Sausage Lozenge said, if you're a Halo fan you'll buy this, if you're not, you'll pass...If you're curious aboot the series though, I'd say maybe give this a rental and give it a go...
Finally, A review that isnt "ZOMG HALO!!1!!" I already promised my brother Id buy it for him so im stuck paying $60 for a 4-5 hr game. I really enjoyed Heavenly sword, for example, but I chose to wait until it was cheaper because it was, what, an 8 hr game? I liked the first Halo, the second turned me off, and I didnt even finish the third. Reach, however is starting to sound good....maybe I'll take the beta invite ; )
ya....defs shoulda been marketed as a standalone expansion pack and sold for $40 bucks
more people would've bought.
more would feel they got there moneyz worth
more people will like MS
more people would play the game
more more more more...for less
atleast my brother was the one who paid for it and not me
Ok first things first great review like all other super reviews. Second thing and many people will accuse me of lying A) I found this game today (20th Sept) and B) I found it not at full price I found it at 50$ and the collectors edition at 65$
I never really planned to play ODST, but I may give it a rent; at least to play a bit of firefight and speed through the campaign to see what's going on.
Halo:CE is the only Halo that I think deserves its recognition, but hopefully Reach can recapture the great feel that the first had.
Not to criticize, but it seems like your problems with the game didn't justify dropping the score three points. So the gameplay is the same as Halo 3. That's not a bad thing. Gears 2 was a carbon copy of Gears 1 but its still a fantastic game. I think your review is accurate (I haven't played it yet), because it sound like you took a serious look at the game. But those negative points just don't seem like that big of a deal.
I've always said you guys weren't biased toward Sony, and the evidence is your disinterest in Halo. I don't mean that as an insult, it's just an observation.
