Fireball
Remember killing a Koopa with a fireball? He’d just casually pop off the screen as though he were on his way to visit his mom in the country, not like he’d just been scorched to death with a red-hot ball of molten flame that caused jets of lava to shoot out his eye sockets. The graphical representation of death by fireball was grossly inaccurate. And rather than the anguished screams you’d expect, the sound of a baddie being killed by fireball was more like two coconuts knocking together. Henceforth, the Fire Flower must be respected for its raw elemental power: behold!

Yeah, I think killing an adorable paper mache animal with a shovel and then feasting on its entrails I think rare followed the basis of theater "Tragedy & comedy".
