Answer our weekly question and check out our favorite user answers from last week!

Words: GamesRadar US

Every week the hosts of TalkRadar present and answer a new "Question of the Week" - a personal inquiry which unearths some of our deepest, and sometimes most sinister, gaming memories. Everyone is encouraged to answer each week's question, so go ahead, tell us your most glorious, nostalgic, or shameful story!

This week's question:

What's the most you've geeked out over a game?

What was your absolute nerdiest videogame moment? Have you ever obsessed over a game so much that even your nerdiest friends got tired of hearing about it?

Answer this week's question in the comments!

Questions can also be answered in the QOTW forum thread. Our favorite posts this week will be read next week on TalkRadar 57, and appear in the next edition of this article. Listen to TalkRadar 56 on Friday for our answers!

Last week's question:

What's the angriest you've ever been at a game?

Below are a few of last week's answers that tickled our collective fancies, but since we can't feature them all here, check out last week's article and forum thread for more...

"mine will always be what happen to me and Chrono Trigger.

BTW, I have never told ANYONE this story.

Firstly, though I love J-RPGs, I don't have a heart to actually put my feelings into a game. Chrono Trigger is a game that had my heart. I was playing through, and got to Zeal without any problem. BUT THAT ******* TWO ARM BASTARD whooped my ass over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, AND ******* OVER!! This is how much that part pisses me off, the first time I played it on the SNES, I broke my system. I played the ROM, deleted it and lost my voice yelling at the computer. I BOUGHT IT FOR THE DS AND TRADED THE GAME AND SYSTEM!!!! I just that one ******* part."

Body Damage wrote...
"the first instance of my being pissed breaking something was when i got mad at something on NES, i can't remember what game it was, and i heel dropped my NES (like in office space). From then on i had to put a VCR remote in the top to hold the game down."

"Street Fighter IV.

Imagine a cold, lonely 3 AM night. I was locked in my room, palms sweating, playing Street Fighter IV on the hardest difficulty. Both I and Seth had one win on our belts, and I was beating the shit out of him as Akuma for the first 20 seconds. Then it starts getting difficult. He starts teleporting then grabbing before I could do anything like 5 times. I have a tiny, sliver of health left when I see that I'm in a perfect position to do an Ultra Combo. Little did I know, Seth, the bastard he is, pulled a sonic boom on me, which for some reason blocked the ULTRA combo, then used his Dhalsim arms to finish me off. I threw my controller out the window, shattering the poor window. Now, in the middle of the night, when parents are sound asleep, they heard a crash and, as parents do expected the worst. My dad starts slamming on my door yelling 'WHO IS IN THERE? DYLAN, ARE YOU OKAY?' I go 'Yeah, I'm fine, but I can't say the same about the window!'

Guess who couldn't get RE5 because of this incident which I had to PAY FOR?"

"Goddamn Ace Combat 6 when you have to shoot down the big ass air craft carrier in the sky, kill all of the strigons, explode all of the other flying gunships, and dodge the piss down my throat and shit through my naval cruise missiles if you get too far away. i got so mad i bit off part of my tongue."

StonedMagician99 wrote...
"Not me, but my brother once got so angry at me beating him at Small Arms on XBLA that the took his controller and slammed it like a hammer directly onto my kneecap, which still hurts occasionally."

StickyLungs wrote...
"Rock Band. LAST song on expert. Green grass and high tides. I yelled at my loving girlfriend about how F-ing stupid the game is, how it's impossible unless you eat 50 hot pockets a day and live in your mom's basement etc. I kept trying for a few hours EVERY day for about 6 weeks. Never was able to finish the song. I ended smashing my guitar like a rock star! I still have the broken guitar. I'll take some pics if anyone's interested."

Zaphers wrote...
"I got so angry at the Race mission in Vice City where you are trying to get him as a getaway driver. That I actually spat on my own floor in anger after much swearing. I was surprised I even did this since it makes no sense to do it and it still doesnt. I was so pissed I lost my don't spit on the floor reflex."

The games that I've geeked out on the most are the Sonic games...well the decent ones. If you ask anyone what's one thing that I love, it's Sonic. A few of my friends even got together and bought a giant Sonic plush doll almost as tall as me! I even showed off Sonic Unleashed to anyone who was within distance of me to show how fast the Sonic levels are. I have so many Sonic toys, comic books, dolls, and games that sometimes my friends and family worry about me.

Whoops, looks like Tyler Wilde made a "Wilde" mistake: it should be titled "What's the Maddest You've Ever Been at a Game?"

Anyway, I don't like to talk non-stop about a game because I know how nerdy it makes me sound, but probably Fallout 3.

.....and it was immeaditely fixed

More of a repeated geeky action, but in Metroid Prime, whenever I beat a boss, I would do this weird anime fist of victory thing. It didn't matter who was in my room at the time.

Probably Kingdom Hearts. Everyone would question why I was so excited over a "little kids game"

Especially when a commercial came on TV

Lol, Gourdmaster just hasn't tried using the rocket launcher on the gyges aircraft, it takes them down in one strafe and makes the mission on AC6 WAY easier XD

It was back in 2003 when I was watching LOTR: Return of the King with a bunch of my friends. I was really into Ragnarok online back then and I would try to relate every area, character, town, abilities from the movie to the game.

Movie Scene: When Aragorn and crew look for the Army of the Dead.
Me: Dude that place totally looks like Glast Heim! ( http://media.photobucket.com/image/ragnarok%20glast%20heim/Onigami_pics/Ragnarok%20Images/screeneAthena009.jpg )

Movie Scene: Any scene of Legolas shooting.
Me: Dude he's totally using double shot!

Movie Scene: When some dude gets hurt
Me: Dude he should have f'kin White Potted!

Friends: =/

Kingdom hearts 2, my friend and I were SUPER excited for it, after reading and re-reading almost everything known about it about a week before the game came out we rebeat KH1 and Chain of memories twice and went and collected all 101 dogs just to watch the trailer again.
Then we went to our local gamespot and spent the night camping out in front of the door until they opened the next morning. (note we were the only ones there) after that when they opened we took turns playing the game for the next 3 days until we beat it. THEN we played again to collect all the trinity symbols and other collectibles so that we could see the next trailer.
We then almost passed out because of lack of sleep but before that happened we stayed awake just long enough to catch a cold.

i constantly replayed the first 3 and portable ops before 4 came out, and when it finally released i went on a metal gear rampage,
me and a friend even took these huge promo gamestop posters right off gamestops windows, not to mention we mimicked snake for about a week straight till our throats became too raspy and sore, lol

I have a way of trying to make sure this doesn't happen:

So when I play games, I feel kinda like a geek, so everytime I play a game I tell myself,
"THIS IS NERDY, THIS IS GEEKY, DON'T BE A NERD, DON'T BE A GEEK!!!" Haha sometimes I'll catch myself getting excited at beating a hard part and I'll yell at myself for it ha.

I think spending 500 (US DOLLARS!) for a PS3 just for Metal Gear Solid 4 covers it. If my aunt ever found out what I used her graduation gift for, I'm pretty sure she'd go ape shit.

Worth it, though.

RESIDENT EVIL 4

It was like I actually play it taking turns with a friend. I totally sucked in my turn. I was like WTF men, it really pissed me off. But when my friend plays and began to beat the misions for a zillion time like a pro I began to hop like a bunny all over the house and laugh like an idiot.
I was so freaking idiot back then.-sigh-

SSBM. When I unlocked Mr. Game & Watch, I did this stupid dance around the house, yelling "Mr. Game & Watch" over and over again. Then I sat down and played as him and found out he SUCKED BALLS!

well, your probly going to laugh at this one, but i was REALLY REALLY FUCKING PUMPED!!!! about Too Human, their little webisodes that showed the "Goblin Man Of Norway"...WOW!! that shit got me hooked like a drug. and then it came out... and i was jizzing in my pants when i picked it up.. and then i put it into my xbox.. and started jizzing even more. i even sent out a "M2AF:" saying that they should all buy the game, the one and only time i have ever done a "M2AF:" to all 100 people on my friends list. i wound up influencing 27 people on my list to buy the game (your welcome SK) and made them suffer through the game as well. to be honest, the only thing i have wrong with that game is the targeting, and the zillion rockets that decide to rain down on you once your level 50... but i digress. i couldnt stop playing too human, and i couldnt stop talking about it... and when i found my first orange, i couldnt stop talking about that, and then i found my first red, and couldnt stop talking about that, and then... i realized that Helheim was the most poorly designed "campaign" in the entire game.. but jesus christ... did the "Goblin Man Of Norway" ever get to anyone... it had to be me...

Well... either Supreme Commander or Heroes of Might and Magic 5.

I followed Supreme Commander since its first mention as a spiritual sequel to Total Annihilation, a strategy game I loved in my earlier years. I gotta say, I wasn't disappointed in this case. As far as I'm concerned, SupCom is the best RTS of all time (followed closely by Sins of a Solar Empire). The scale, the economics and everything made me feel happy and nostalgic. The story is better than most people give credit, really, but it doesn't matter as it is only a detail in an RTS such as this. See how I'm geeking out on it now? I'm even on the verge of becoming a fanboy (something I've ever hated) because SupCom 2 will change so much... and become anime-ish.

As for Heroes V... let's just say this much: I participated on the beta, I endured time and time again the terrible connection crashes just to keep playing that limited part of a game... aaaaaaaand, I made a 200+ page (in Microsoft Word, font 10) story based on the setting of the game in the official forums. It was called Heroes Fables. My enthusiasm even inspired Ubisoft to make a small promotion based on writing small 2 page tale that was called, guess what: Heroes Fables Competition. I participated, but ironically, my country wasn't eligible for the contest, but I participated knowingly of this fact. Then... the game was launched, everybody left the forums and I lost 90% of my readers. I wasn't exactly disappointed with the game, but, as some pointed out in those forums, they could have improved the campaign a lot by ripping off my story (and that's not a statement to my talent... just a statement to their lack, unfortunately).

The game(s) Ive bragged about what I addicted to is WOW (All the time), Pokemon games like Ruby, Firered, emerald, colosseum, snap, and pearl; Bioshock, all Halos, and finally gentlemen, ladies...ES IV: Oblivion!

No need for me to explain myself why these certain games. You should know.

The most I've ever geeked out over a game was the buildup towards Halo 3. Not only did I play through the first two games again, I also reread all of the books. Hell, I even followed this "ARG" Bungie, or Microsoft, or whoever, ran over the summer, only to realize that it was a stupid viral marketing campaign. Oh yeah, then Halo 3 came out and it could not live up to my ridiculous expectations.

Whoops!
