QOTW: What are your top 5 games of all time?

Answer our weekly question and check out our favorite user answers from last week!

Words: Tyler Wilde, GamesRadar US

Every week the hosts of TalkRadar present and answer a new "Question of the Week" - a personal inquiry which unearths some of our deepest, and sometimes most sinister, gaming memories. Everyone is encouraged to answer each week's question, so go ahead, tell us your most glorious, nostalgic, or shameful story!

This week's question:

What are your top 5 games of all time?

Not just the games you liked the most, but the games you played the most. Give us your absolute fondest memories - the ones that make you feel all warm and tingly inside when you reminisce about them, or are even still playing today. Nostalgic stories are always a plus!

Answer this week's question in the comments!

Questions can also be answered in the QOTW forum thread. Our favorite posts this week will be read next week on TalkRadar 62, and appear in the next edition of this article. Listen to TalkRadar 61 on Friday for our answers!

Last week's question:

What superhero game disappointed you the most?

As always, thanks to everyone who participated! I think I can safely say that Superman 64 recieved the brunt of the bitching (and for good reason).

Below are a few of last week's answers that tickled our collective fancies, but since we can't feature them all here, check out last week's article and forum thread for more...

"BATMAN BEGINS. That got me excited, Splinter Cell-esque gameplay with the Batman mythos. Then they added in Burnout gameplay, and that was cool. Then I got it, and it was buggy. Nothing meshed together; all not helped by bland enviroments and textures. Combat wa sslow and clunky. Plus I played it on all three due to a freak accident, this included the Gamecube version *shudders*"

"To anyone that says Superman 64, come ON! That's like everyone's favorite punching bag, and it's getting stale. At least in that game it TRIED to give you the sense of what it's like to be Superman. It failed, but it tried. You want to know what game failed at even that basic premiss? Spawn: The Eternal for the PSOne "

"Do you see a cape? I sure as hell don't. Chains? Nope. Anything at all that would suggest this isn't a game about a damned cos-player? Hell no. This game was bullshit, and I'm actually embarrassed to even admit I ever played it"

Mr.Epic64 wrote...
"Batman Begins. I hate that game. You climb out a window, if you go up, you get shot to death, if you go down, you fall to your death."

TheWebSwinger wrote...
"Spider-Man: Web of Fire (no, not Web of Shadows) for the 32X. It was literally the ONE GAME I bought the 32X add-on for. Seriously, on paper it looked great: beautiful graphics, and 3D effects (on the Genesis??). But in play, it was a middling side-scroller with zero hit detection."

Top five games of all time? That's just too damn hard to answer!

Some days I'd put OoT in there but others I wouldn't even say it was my favourite Zelda!

For a five minute list, though, 1, Okami 2, SotC 3,MGS3 4,Sonic2 5, GTA Vice City.

Nooo! That's terrible! On second thoughts(after also sticking to console games fo no reason at all)five isn't even enough to list your favourite genres so discount anything I've said!

What are you guys talking about? Batman Begins was awesome! The stealth, the way you scared the crap out of enemies...

I can think of dozens of movie games way worse than Batman Begins. Finding Nemo on the GBA was pretty terrible, and most Shrek games are a massive pile of uber-suck.

*Was in such a rush to defend Batman Begins, I didn't actually answer the question, sorry...*

Ocarina of Time, Earthbound, Super Smash Bros Melee, Resident Evil 4, and... probably Pokemon Gold or Super Castlevania IV or something. Screw it, I love too many games!

1. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
I've put 140+ hours into this GBA masterpiece. It's got the "just one more turn" sort of hook to it.

2.Pokemon Pearl
I'm going with a newer version simply because, other then emerald, I've sunk the most time into this particular version (130+ hours). That, and online trading really fuled the "gotta catch em' all" goal for me.

3. Advance Wars (GBA)
The newer versions may have more units and such, but this is the only game (besides FFTA) that's had me so addicted that I start playing at 10:00 PM, and then the next time I look at the clock its 5:00 AM. Also, this happened just last night (morning?). It's that good.

4.Rock Band 2
DLC every week, online band play, and constantly updated Battle of the Bands FTW!

5.The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
My personal favorite Zelda for two reasons. It was the first Zelda I played (GBA version), and its practicaly the game that truly convinced me that I'm a gamer. Before this game, I mostly played licensed crap that barely qualifies as video games.

5. Street Fighter IV

1: Marvel Vs Capcom 2: the simple fact of combining two of my favourite franchises and getting it right led to several weeks of simply playing with my friend over and over and over

2. Unreal Tournament GOTY Edition: I played this so much it was quite ridiculous, I downloaded every new skin, character model, weapon, map played them all. Funny thing is I had a terrible net connection at the time which meant I played with bots ALOT. I named them all gave them special traits(to the extent of UT anyhow) and got wrapped up in the entire situation

3: Final Fantasy X: The reason being that this was one of the only game I actually cared what happened to the characters, yes Aeris got stabbed but she didnt look real! The scene where Tidus finds out Yuna will eventually sacrifice herself is heartbreaking.
If beat FFX twice second time round getting every Aeon and (nearly) all the ultimate weapons. Plus I was one of the apparently few that enjoyed Blitzball

4: Halo 3: First of all I will say I couldn't give a toss about the story. The multiplayer however is fantastic and I have sunk so many hours playing that game, and enjoyed 95% of it. The other 5% is when I get team killed by a racsist/homophobic 13 year old.

5: X-men Arcade: Now while I haven't played this game as much as the others I still hold a very fond memory of a holiday several years ago. There was a pub very close to where we were staying that we visited fequently while there, while my parents we lining there stomachs with alochol me and my brother were playing X-men. This was probably the first time me and my brother had played a game together without it ending in a fist fight, that situation has then been replocated with X-men Legends and Ultimate Alliance :)

Sonic the hedgehog 2 as I am a major tails fan, although I thought the hedgehog was having a thing with him as I thought tails was a chic.... Still 2nd fav has to be HL2 just for the fact you can pin enemies to the wall, blow enemies up AND feel smart for all the clever words used in the text making me feel smart which was sooooooooo cool!! 3rd HL1:opposing force 4th:sonic 5th:james bond nightfire for very 2 big anjd rounded reasons... :)
