Marvel vs. DC: the games

Which superhero game is right for you? Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Justice League Heroes? Look no further

Surprise hero

Every now and then a hero rises above the crowd and puts on an extraordinary performance. Raising the level of his or her game to the delight of a universe in need of saving is even more delightful for you to play. Let's check out the surprise hits of these games.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance: Ms. Marvel has never been a major league character in the Marvel Universe, despite her name. Sure, she's had her own (albeit short lived) series and she's been in The Avengers, but she'd get lost in the crowd at a Baxter Building mixer. In the game she deals out some awesome projectile attacks, has great strength for brawling, can pick up heavy objects and can fly. Throw in her Binary alternate costume and you have a gal worth dying for. She might look like Captain Whitebread, but Ms. Marvel packs a mean punch that you'll want to have in your party.

Justice League Heroes: Green Arrow once said of Zatanna, "She can turn your blood to fire with a single spell." She can do all that and more in the game. She's just ridiculously powerful (as well she ought to be). Zatanna can mow down enemies by turning them into rabbits (which greatly cuts down their hit points) and dispatching them with a few fireballs. Don't be swayed by idiotic print editors that make fun of her powers (hi EGM!) If you want to bring Darkseid down, it's so much easier with Lady Z by your side. Plus, her fishnet stockings are kinky hot.

The Winner: Zatanna rocks like no other. She's so amazing that she could single-handedly wipe out all the villains in both games (not really, but she'd come close).
