while i was playing gears 2 my mom was watching without me knowing and after i shot off a locusts head then picked up another guy to use as a shield while the enemies shoot his limbs off until i broke his neck then ran to a downed guy and pressed x to curb stomp she said this is too violent, u r gunna gro up to be a murderer... lol
my dad once took away halo 2 because i shoot some one in multiplayer. he told me that i shouldnt shoot people who look like me.............but he said nothing when i shot the elite on my team who took the rocket launcher
Just had a conversation about gaming with my dad last night. He says, "I don't lie it when you play those games too much its not good for you."
Me: "Well, dad, I have other interests than you did when you were a kid and its what people do these days. Plus gaming is a great social experience and its better for you than watching the same amount of TV."
I just think sometimes parents are jealous they didn't have this stuff when they were kids.
I play gears of war and gta and I laugh when people die get dismembered or fall off tall ledges but watch the news there are far worse things. Yeah if video games made you a killer we would have an insurmountable number of killers in the streets everyday. Plus humans are naturally violent so video games are a good way to outsource stress.
Have some pity. I had an original Atari, and I wasn't a kid (out of college and all). These poor parents had parents like them who wouldn't let them play. Sigh. It's not the age, it's the ignorance. Age is. Ignorance can be cures. Some good ideas there...
according to my parents, every time I play video games, my brain rots and I get stupider. Even being in one of the top classes at school, they still think that. Parents are very ignorant.'
"GTA IV has too much racism and nudity."
That's why its an M...
Really good article!Parents can really be a pain in the a** sometimes.
-Turn it off right now!
They never heard of savespots before?!LOL!
But at least they got it after I got killed in MGS3 because of the argument, and explained it :-)
my dad's not too bad about this stuff (even though the blood in assassins creed makes him nauseuous LOL!!!), however my mom can be really anal about playing "too much", and assuming games rot my brain.
