Forensics was a great part of the original. How have you expanded this for the sequel?
Hantzopoulos: Well we've completely revamped the forensics system. You were told what to do, how to do it and even when to do it in the original. We started with the idea that you would run own your own investigation in Condemned 2.
It's based on your power of observation, lateral thinking and using your tools. You've got three tries to get each step right. Rose is also back form the original to help you. First you study your evidence, say a dead body that looks like a cop, and make an ID. If you zoom over the face you're given a few options to choose from - male, female, young, old? Next you can look at his badge and see numbers. Then you call it in to Rose. We call this building the chain of evidence.
Then you're going to need to determine cause of death. The obvious place to look would be where all the blood is coming from and identify the wound. Is it a burn, a bludgeon, a gun shout? Then you need to find out if this is the crime scene. Pull out your light tool and you may see a trail of blood indicating the victim crawled away from the crime scene.
Once you've put it all together you get a 30 second mind's eye moment showing how the crime happened just like in CSI. You'll also get scored on how well you do in each examination.
