Final Destination 1, 2 and 3 - Rube Goldberg
A Rube Goldberg device is an extremely complicated, over-the-top machine that produces a simple result. The Final Destination movies are essentially Mousetrap: The Movie. Some kids escape death and the Grim Reaper makes up for it by concocting elaborate, roundabout ways to kill them. We watch for two minutes as water leaks from a toilet, screws come loose from shelves, or some electrical fixture shorts out. The end result is still a dead teenager.
Die Hard 2 - Icicle
Just as Bruce Willis’ gruff John McClane is about to get snuffed by Random Thug #4, McClane reaches for an icicle and plunges it through the hooligan’s eye. If that’s not enough, he even breaks the weapon off. Just because he’s a dick.
Goldfinger - Bowler hat
As Goldfinger’s Korean manservant, Oddjob is especially lethal with his metallic bowler hat of doom. Although the only victim to Oddjob’s hat is a statue, we at least know even the trendiest of headwear can still be ruthlessly dangerous.
Shoot ‘em Up - Carrot
Played like a live-action Bugs Bunny cartoon, but with more guns and less soul, Clive Owen thoughtlessly munches on his favorite vegetable while murderizing thugs by the dozens. However, the most inventive kill comes not from his bullets, but when he stabs a carrot through a guy’s mouth and out the back of his neck. Also like Die Hard 2, he stabs a guy in the eye. And just like Bruce Willis, he’s a dick.
