Chromehounds

Turns out that house-sized robots with enormous bazookas aren't for everybody

The unfortunate thing about Chromehounds is that it's obsessive focus on realism eliminates some opportunities for the wildly colored, laser-sword-wielding monstrosities featured in Armored Core and, to a much lesser extent, MechWarrior. This game is predominantly about next generation tank combat, which may strike some people as terribly boring, but for those just itching to join the new era of steel-clad, explosive-hurling champions, Chromehounds delivers the most satisfyingly complete experience available to date.

You'll love

  • Extremely replayable multiplayer
  • Giant frikkin' robots!
You'll hate
  • Steep learning curve
  • Single-player somewhat boring
  • Oppressively realistic
