Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Jake Gyllenhaal has been confirmed to play the prince in Jerry Bruckheimer's movie based on the Prince of Persia games.

Mike Newell, who directed Donnie Brasco and the forth Harry Potter movie, will take up directing duties, whilst Gemma Arterton (Bond girl to be in Quantum of Solace) will be the princess.

Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in Persia who joins forces with Tamina (Arterton) to prevent a nobleman

Want to feel insulted a little nauseous? Then just watch the clip above. Apparently, a recent episode of the NBC crime drama, Life, had a plot involving some drug dealers who stored records of their transactions on their Xbox. Just let that sink in for a moment: they're smart enough to reprogram a video game, but not smart enough to realize that keeping a detailed paper trail of drug deals might not be a good idea. Add in some ridiculous bits about how they have to reach Level 10? to access them, a whole room of cops gathering around to watch, and some random twitching of fingers and you've got a sequence that's embarrassing for all involved, especially the viewers.

Michael Bay is being linked with the forthcoming flick based on Ubisoft's Prince of Persia videogames. Movie website IESB.net reports that Walt Disney Studios (Walt Disney Pictures is co-producing the movie with Jerry Bruckheimer Films) is "hopeful" that the film director "will indeed direct the picture" after concluding directorial duties on the Transformers movie out this summer.
