We've heard loads about Doom 3, but Chronicles of Riddick? Hype-wise, it's not in quite the same league. But it's not complete madness to compare the brilliant Doom to a game that prequels a film that hardly anyone watched. The two games are actually shaping up similarly well, with Riddick's visuals and stylish presentation almost matching Doom 3's.IN THE MOVIES Chronicles of Riddick is based on the forthcoming film of the same name, which is the sequel to Pitch Black. The game though is a ...

Xbox Preview | Ninja Gaiden
It's always nice to be surprised, unless it's by the taxman or an open manhole. And although Ninja Gaiden has always looked good, actually sitting down and playing the game this month has nonetheless been a spectacularly pleasant surprise indeed. Xbox Preview | Full Spectrum Warrior
There is no fire button. Not in the same way that 'there is no spoon' in The Matrix, but in this team battle you can't push the trigger and unload hot lead into your foe's faces - you just give the order. Xbox Preview | Deus EX: Invisible War
Attention to detail. It's all about the attention to detail. What differentiates a truly great title from a good one is the degree of effort lavished on those superfluous elements that neatly round off a game's rough edges. In this respect Deus Ex: Invisible War could well be a masterpiece in the making, because the attention to detail is staggering. For example, take the basketball in Alex D's apartment right at the start of the game. Pick it up and throw it against the wall. The physics engine ...

Xbox Preview | Ninja Gaiden
Ninjas - they roam the land free of the bonds of hearth and home, kind of like Big Issue sellers. They fight on the side of the poor and the downtrodden, again, like Big Issue sellers. And sometimes they totally flip out and kill people - probably like that Big Issue seller in town. You know, the one with the mad, staring eyes? But Ryu Hayabusa is one swordsman who has given up his lonely life to settle back amongst his tribe. Which probably explains why, when Lord Vigor butchers his family, our ...
