It may have chewed us up, spat us out and slapped us around the chops several times over, but still has a very special place in our hearts, so we're suitably chuffed that a new, special edition Gaiden is on its way to Xbox.

Called Ninja Gaiden Black, the game will feature new difficulty levels, a new mission mode and content taken from the Hurricane expansion packs. In addition, there will be some new cut-scenes and colossal amounts of bonus stuff, most notably a version of the original Ninja Gaiden coin-op, Ninja Ryukenden.

Ninja Gaiden Black will be released for Xbox in September 2005
