Xbox News | Ghost Recon 2
Ubisoft have pencilled in Ghost Recon 2 to be released at the end of November on Xbox and PS2 and when they say that the two iterations of their next Clancy-'em-up will be completely different they actually mean it. We're not simply talking additional levels or expanded weaponry here. Now isn't that refreshing?PS2 duties for developing GR2 fall to Ubisoft's Shanghai studios (previously responsible for PS2 Splinter Cell) and the game's being coded using the Unreal engine, incorporating Havok ...

Xbox News | Ghost Recon 2
ON: PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PC - OUT: Autumn THE PITCH: North Korea is the acceptable face that most developers appear to be using now as home to world-threatening bad guys and Ghost Recon 2 falls in line with that philosophy. It's a squad-based military shooter and Ubi Soft are using the buzzword 'immersion' as the hook to their latest in the Ghost Recon franchise. 'Being there' is the in-place to be and we're promised the chaos of war in the intense battle sequences. KEY FEATURES Intense ...

Xbox - The Godfather - EA talks

John Riccitiello has been talking freely about The Godfather II. At the William Blair & Company's investor meeting on Tuesday, Riccitiello said that EA's Redwood Shores studio is at work on a sequel to The Godfather game, which released in 2006.

"It's a game that I think we'll be talking a lot about this fall," Riccitiello told investors. "You can play this game both at the street level, much like a GTA-style game, but you can ...

Xbox News | The Godfather
The funny thing about inventing a genre of videogames is that, until it becomes completely played out, every game that emulates your formula is going to be attached to your name. Games that feature a wide-open, freely explorable world, for example, will have a hard time avoiding the label of "Grand Theft Auto clone," especially if their worlds are littered with vehicles to steal and drive. In the six years since Grand Theft Auto III, a slew of games have tried to become "the next GTA," but so ...

Xbox News | The Godfather
Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes, the Don has been shot and you're the only one who can keep him alive. One of the things the team behind The Godfather likes to brag about is how cleverly their game's plot syncs up with that of Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 gangster epic. And after playing through the game, we're inclined to agree with them. To give Godfather fans an example of how the game ties in with the film's storyline, we've put together this little video from the PS2 version. Clocking ...

Xbox News | The Godfather
EA continues its drip feed of info on The Godfather as it outlines how the game's 'heat' system works with pursuing cops, and how the district of New Jersey looks to the Corleones. Unsurprisingly, the heat system works in a similar way to the wanted level in GTA but, instead of it being displayed with stars, police shields are used. If you commit a crime in the sight of the police your heat level will increase and the police will chase you; if by fleeing the police you commit more crimes, ...

Electronic Arts has finally confirmed a release date of 24 March for its delayed crime game The Godfather, based on the Mario Puzo book and 1972 film of the same name. EA originally had its videogame adaptation of the classic gangster film down for an autumn 2005 release but decided that the developer needed more time on the ambitious ...

Xbox News | Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
EA's GoldenEye: Rogue Agent continues to impress and build on its early promise and we have the latest screens of the game in action. We're particularly impressed with just how clean it looks in the in-game screens and the mix 'n' match of weapons in each hand also has our trigger-finger itching to squeeze. As a game set in the Bond universe, it's somewhat surprising that it isn't a gadget-fest of typically Bond-esque cutting edge tools but the full-on shoot-'em-up nature of the game sits very ...

Xbox News | Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
Here are three new images of Electronic Arts' GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, the forthcoming Bond game where you don't actually play as 007 himself. The pics are pre-rendered images - so don't expect the up and running game to look this good - and feature Dr No, Goldfinger and what looks to be an infamous Bond villain's base.Goldfinger is considered by many film buffs to be the best Bond movie and this is in no short measure due to the brilliant character of Auric Goldfinger (not forgetting the silent ...

Xbox News | Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
Electronic Arts have released the first screenshots of GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and you'll notice they centre around Fort Knox - Oddjob being the obvious clue here.EA's latest Bond first-person shooter takes the novel twist of casting the player as a rogue agent, rather than Mr Shaken-not-Stirred himself. That simple change in context should allow for much more foul play on the part of the player. Will we get the chance to kill Bond? Okay, that isn't going to happen but we envisage a game where ...
