Where do you think Gears of War learned the strategic economy of the two gun inventory? Where did GRAW and Call of Duty discover the simplicity of regenerating health? Above all, where did the entire genre realize the importance of online multiplayer? The answer is always... Halo. As the years ... » Read More

It's a new week, which means a new internet update trickling from the Bungie fortress, and this week it focuses on Halo 3's new and improved battle encounters. "Halo 3 encounters are more fun, more challenging, more varied and more enjoyable than those in Halo or Halo 2," the update reads. Xbox - Halo - GDC 07: Halo 2 Vista To Have Exclusive Achievements, Complete Map Editor Why most of you would say, big deal, there's a few reasons why Halo 2 for Vista stands out for not only PC gamers, but Xbox veterans as well. First off Halo 2 will ship with a fully equipped map editor. Gamers will not only be able to create maps, but maps will be sharable over Live, and much like other PC FPSs if you log into a server that has a custom map the game will download and install the map and get you playing. While the map editor will be quite robust, it will be easy for seasoned map editors to create arenas to battle it out in. You'll have access to all the assets the development team did to remix current levels or you'll be able to build new geometry and import your own created assets to virtually create anything. It should be quite interesting to see what the Halo community can come up with.

Recorded in what looks like someone's living room, these kids jamming the Halo theme tune is good enough to be the real thing. One drummer, one guitarist (no, not Steve Vai who recorded the guitar in Halo 2 ), one bass player and one awesome violinist is all it takes - as well as some serious talent - to play your favorite videogame theme tunes. There's also a hi-fi belting out the famous monks in the room too, but that just adds to the whole performance. This has to be seen to be ... » Read More

A review of a leaked copy of the upcoming Halo movie reveals that it will include many of the game's set-pieces in an attempt to stay faithful to the classic first-person shooter. The opening sequence involves Master Chief having a flashback to a huge battle between the Covenant and an army of Spartan warriors. He's then snapped out of the dream as he's called to defend the huge battle-cruiser The Pillar of Autumn, just as he did at the beginning of the first Halo game. Other memorable ... » Read More
